Chapter 17

Finally, it was the weekend. A beautiful Saturday morning as Draco, Ginny, and Haven decided to go to Hogsmeade to walk around. Haven was so excited to see all the different shops and to just be with her parents.
Ginny and Draco decided to take Haven into Honeyduke's. The young family walked into the shop and Haven's eyes lit up. She pulled on Draco's arm as she spotted some candy she wanted. While Draco went with Haven, Ginny decide to go grab some chocolate off of the shelf.
As Ginny's hand reached for the chocolate, someone's hand roughly grabbed her wrist. Ginny's eyes flashed to whomever had her wrist. Her eyes met those of Pansy Parkinson's eyes.
"Well, well if it isn't the She-Weasel. Can you even afford to buy this candy?" Pansy said with a sneer.
"Back off Parkinson. I have better things to do than to talk to you" Ginny said as she glared at Pansy.
Before Pansy could respond, Draco appeared with Haven in tow.
"Ginny, are you okay?" Draco asked as he affectionately put his arm around her waist.
"Draco! What are you doing with a blood traitor? I have not seen you in a long time. Let us go catch up together and who knows what may happen" Pansy said as she stroked Draco's arm.
"Pansy, I will only say this once. I am here with my girlfriend Ginny and our daughter Haven. Please remove your hand off my arm and walk away. I want nothing from you" Draco said as he removed Pansy's hand from his arm.
The young family paid for their items and headed out into the streets of Hogsmeade. However, Pansy was not very far behind.
"Draco, you had a child with her? She does not deserve you. Forget about them and we can get married and have our own family" Pansy said as she tried to get closer to Draco.
Ginny immediately stepped in between the two of them and slapped Pansy.
"He said to walk away for good. Draco and I are together. We have a daughter together. You will not have him. You need to leave now" Ginny said as anger flashed in her eyes.
Pansy drew out her wand and about shouted a curse at Ginny when Draco withdrew his wand and shouted, "Petrificus Totalus!' Pansy fell over and was unable to move. Draco and Ginny then took Haven immediately back home.
Upon returning home, Draco and Ginny both noticed Haven was upset. They all sat down on the couch with Haven in between them.
"Haven sweetie, what is wrong?" Ginny asked as she stroked her daughter's hair.
"Why was that lady trying to take daddy? I don't want daddy to go away" Haven said as she clung desperately to Draco.
Draco hugged his daughter back and said, "Haven, I promise daddy is not leaving you. That lady and I used to date many years ago. We did not work out and I am with your mum now. I love you and your mum so very much. I will not leave either of you."
Haven looked up into Draco's eyes as she had a tear slide down her cheek. Innocently Haven asked, "Why aren't you and mummy married?"
Draco and Ginny looked at each other then Ginny said, "Well, daddy has not asked me to marry him yet. When that day comes, then you can help me plan our wedding!"
Haven smiled wide and hugged her mum. Ginny had her eyes closed as she hugged her daughter and unbeknownst to her Draco's mind was already planning a way to propose to Ginny.
The rest of the afternoon was spent playing with Haven and making dinner. Ginny made a pot roast with fresh vegetables. They all ate happily and talked about what they would do the next day.
Later on, Ginny and Draco tucked Haven into bed. They then went to their own bedroom and climbed into their bed. After saying goodnight and kissing one another, Ginny fell fast asleep.
Draco was lying awake and thinking. He knew he loved Ginny and Haven so very much. He wanted to marry Ginny the moment he knew that he loved her, but he wanted to find the perfect moment. Ginny meant the world to him as did his daughter. He wanted to get Arthur's blessing to ask Ginny to marry him.
While making sure Ginny was asleep, Draco crept to the living room and floo' d the Burrow. Arthur's face popped in the fireplace.
"Draco, is everything okay?" Arthur whispered as it was late in the night.
"Yes, all is well. I was wondering if I may come over to talk to you about something" Draco asked.
"Of course. I will see you shortly" Arthur said as his face disappeared into the flames.
Draco quickly threw on clothes and went outside to apparate to the Burrow.
Upon landing at the Burrow, Draco knocked on the door. The door opened to show a smiling Arthur standing there.
"Come on in Draco. It is good to see you" Arthur said.
Draco walked into the Burrow and the two men sat at the table.
Arthur brewed them both some coffee and once both men had their coffee then Draco spoke.
"Arthur, I wanted to talk to you about Ginny" Draco said looking into Arthur's eyes.
"Of course. Is she okay?" Arthur asked with concern lacing his voice.
"Absolutely. She is perfect. I have never done this before and I am nervous, but" Draco paused as he gathered his thoughts, "…I love. Ginny so much. I want to be with her for the rest of my life. I want to ask you for your blessing in asking Ginny to marry me."
Arthur looked down at his cup of coffee and a smile then graced his lips. He looked back up to Draco and said, "Of course you have my blessing. I have seen how much you love Ginny and Haven. You are an amazing father, but also an amazing partner for Ginny. I would be honored if you would ask Ginny to marry you" Arthur said as he held out his hand to Draco.
Both men shook hands and Arthur pulled Draco into a hug.
"Have you thought about how you will propose to her?" Arthur asked with a smile on his face.
"I have an idea and could use your help. Would you and Molly be alright with watching Haven tomorrow evening?" Draco asked.
"Of course we will watch Haven. I hope your plan goes well. I know Ginny and I know she loves you so much. I am so excited for you both" Arthur said happily.
Draco and Arthur spent some more time talking about Draco's plan.
Draco noticed the time and let Arthur know he needed to head back. He knew Ginny would be getting up in a few hours and he did not want her to know he had left.
Draco left the Burrow and apparated back home. He was so excited knowing he was going to propose to the woman that he loved so much.
