It's Suri's first day on the job at The Outsiders. Suri gets to know her team. The first day goes grwat, until it doesn't.

"A hellspawn?! Lord have mercy, Kuroyashi, how are you even considering working with such a sinful presence?"

Shiozaki crossed herself for the millionth time as the group made their way from the dorms to the front gates of the campus. The topic itself had only come up because she'd steered it away from the previous topic and her being a part of a scandal. The scandal being her spending the night in Kirishima's dorm room. Of course, this hadn't been the first time she had gotten caught trying to sneak out of his room and back to her room at the 1-B dormitory building. To get the gossip squad off of her back about sleeping with her boyfriend - and any details Mina in particular wanted to dig up - she changed the subject. Once she found out about Suri's new coworker, Hellfire, being an honest to gods devil, she had a small meltdown.

She was still coming to terms with the existence of lycanthropes, vampires, and more than just one singular god. Knowing that devils and demons truly existed and one of them was moonlighting as a pro hero was frying her brain.

"Relax," Suri drawled and rolled her eyes. "He's well behaved for the most part. Actually, he's pretty wrapped around Sasayaki's finger. Kinda like he's her kid or something."

"Who knows, maybe he is," Kirishima chuckled. He then looked to find his own coworker who was already walking down the road without him. "Hey! Dude, Tamaki, wait up, man!"

He shouted after the third year who kept walking. Partially because he was ignoring everyone around him, mostly because he was talking and mumbling drearily to himself. Even from here he felt like a walking existential crisis filled with dread and anxiety. He was, as usual, mumbling something about wanting to just go home.

Kirishima started to run after him, stopped a step later and quickly spun back towards his girlfriend and grabbed her. Shiozaki squeaked loudly as he pulled her to him, gripping the back of her head as he smashed their lips together. He kissed her hard, deep, and affectionately before he took off running after the gloomy upperclassmen. The sudden kiss left Shiozaki's eyes closed and her lips parted as she stood frozen in a flutter of butterflies and silence. When her eyes fluttered back open her cheeks were flushed red as she heard Kirishima shout an I love you down the sidewalk.

"I love you too, Eijirou," she whispered quietly as a big goofy smile crossed her lips. Then she felt a looming presence of giggling chaos looming behind her. "That's my cue to depart as well. Have a good day, my friends," she said quietly as she too took off running down the sidewalk headed the opposite way Kiri had gone.

The sudden disappearance left Mina pouting as her smile came crashing down. She groaned and whined overdramatically as she watched the vine girl run away, stomping a little before straightening up and turning back to her lovers.

"She knows she can't hide the details from me forever," she grumbled and shook her head with a smirk, crossing her arms tight over her breasts.

"Mina, it's kinda rude to pry into her love life, isn't it?" Izuku asked as he smiled and shook his head at the pinkette.

"Yeah, I guess," she sighed and rolled her eyes at her boyfriend.

"Want me to spy on them sometime?" Tooru joked and giggled.

"Tooru, no," Suri and Izuku chuckled and rolled their eyes with exasperation.

"Tooru, yes!" Mina exclaimed excitedly, grabbing the invisible girl's hands and hopping up and down with eagerness.

The foursome laughed together and then Suri sighed as she pulled out her phone and checked the time. She smiled softly at her mates and returned her phone back into where she normally kept it stuffed into her bra. To be fair, she was incredibly excited to get to the agency and get her day started doing actual hero stuff but she also wanted to spend the day inside cuddling with her lovers. Such was the sacrifice.

"I gotta get going too. Now that I'm through with orientation, I think Zeta Squad is going to be out hitting the streets," Suri said with a smile.

"Yeah, I think it's going to be our first patrol today too. Nighteye is going to have me and Togata out by ourselves for the first time," Izuku added.

"I'm so excited," Mina said with glee. "Sounds like we're all doing patrols today."

"You guys be safe today," Tooru said caringly as she looked up at Suri and Izuku.

"I will," Suri said with a grin and moved in on Izuku, wrapping an arm around his shoulder and pulling herself to him. She kissed him deeply and sighed as they breathed each other in, feeling his arms wrap around her in the moment. Their lips held each other for a long moment and Suri savored the taste of his lips before she pulled back to look into his eyes and smiled at his big, goofy grin. "Love you, Green Bean."

"Love you too, S-Sugar Queen," he replied happily, though he stuttered on his last words as soon as he started saying them.

It made Suri pause and stare into his eyes with surprise and then she snorted and couldn't hold back the small giggle that came next.

"Sugar Queen?" All three girls questioned him simultaneously.

"I-I'm trying more n-nicknames… w-was it that b-bad?" he asked nervously.

"You're cute, babe, you know that?" Suri giggled as she pulled back from Izuku and moved to Tooru next to him. She purred happily as she pushed into the invisible girl, wrapping her arms around her waist and pinning herself to the girl. She breathed Tooru in just as deeply and passionately as she had with Izuku and left her wanting more when she pulled back. "Love you, Baby Girl."

"I love you too," Tooru sighed and giggled before she turned to Izuku. She went up on tiptoes to meet him, digging her fingers into his hair before she kissed him with gentle care and longing. After taking the time to savor his lips she pulled back and smiled up at her boyfriend, "she's right though, cutie, you're super adorable."

"Love you, Pinkie Pie," Suri whispered against Mina's lips as she kissed the pinkette the same time Tooru and Izuku kissed. Suri squeaked and then growled into Mina's lips as the pinkette blatantly grabbed the beast girl's ass during the liplock. It made Suri retaliate by grabbing Mina's own ass tightly and purring into her lips which made the pinkette up the ante and snatch Suri's lip between her teeth. That made Suri hiss and growl and it took everything she had to pull back from Mina's advances. "Ooo, girl, you are evil," she growled playfully.

"Love you too," Mina smirked before winking at the beast girl and sticking her tongue out at her.

"You're lucky we have to get to work or I'd be dragging your ass back to my room," Suri smirked and began walking backwards towards the gates. Which was the truth because Mina's teasing was making it really really hard to want to go on patrol and not doing something else.

"Is that a threat, babe," Mina giggled, teasing Suri even more as she bit her lip and winked at her girlfriend.

"It's a promise," Suri rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at Mina. "Be safe you three. See you tonight when I get home."

"You too," the three of them responded together.

Suri's last view was Mina taking her turn to kiss Izuku, apparently being just as cheeky and teasing as she'd been with Suri. When she looked back a second time after setting her pace to a jog she watched as Izuku went one direction while Mina and Tooru headed another. Suri set into her jog and made her way deeper into Musutafu and to the Outsiders Agency building located in the downtown district. When she got there she found Yumei headed through the door and got a surprise when the snake girl handed her a coffee she'd just picked up from the cafe across the street. The snake girl had to fight off a blush and was flustered when the beast girl kissed her cheek in thanks in front of Sasayaki and Alexandria and then walked into The Pit like nothing had happened. The Pit, as Suri learned the gym inside the atrium was called, led to the company locker rooms located next to the medical wing.

Suri greeted several of the female sidekicks and pros who were already in the locker room, changing into their costumes. She made her way towards the back row and to one of the last lockers in the aisle and grinned happily as she opened it up. She breathed in with pride as she peered inside the locker that already had a couple pictures of her together with her mates, and one of her and Yumei and nothing much else. Still, it was hers, and that's what mattered. She sat her iced coffee the snake girl had given her to the side on the bench and pulled off her backpack. She then pulled her hero costume briefcase from the bag and popped it open to reveal her suit inside. She quickly began changing, pulling off her school uniform and replacing it with the armored leotard and securing all of her gear in place. Once she was completely changed and everything was pushed into her locker, she grabbed her coffee and made her way back out into The Pit and then took the stairs up to the first floor above.

The first floor, as she learned, was reserved exclusively for new recruits and hires. The entire structure was built on work ethic where, aside from the front desk with Sasayaki and Alexandria, the goal was to start at the bottom and climb up the ranks. Zeta Squad was the lowest on the totem pole and was square one, which Suri didn't mind at all. Being here was going to be like starting over in the clan at home and fighting her way up the food chain. The challenge to get better and prove herself made her feel right at home. The fact that she had her very own desk added to that feeling.

"Morning," said a figure in the far corner of the group of desks. It was conveniently the most shadowed of the four desks in their square and bathed him in as much darkness as he could soak up. He took a sip of his coffee, a cup he'd also gotten from Yumei but his eyes never left the papers on his desk he was studying. He then stopped long enough to look at the screen of his laptop, returned his gaze back into his work, and quietly chided Suri. "You are late."

"Shit, am I?" Suri's eyes went wide and she hurriedly looked at the clock on her own work laptop. Her brow furrowed and then one raised as she pointed a questioning glance back at the boy in the corner. "It's just now nine o clock?"

"Libra expects us to be early," he lamented in an even, broodish tone. "Not just on time."

"So," Suri said, letting the word hang as she looked at the other two desks in their group of desks. "What about the other two? Aren't they late?"

"What other two?" he questioned, looking up at Suri with a look that clearly said the girl was missing something. His eyes flickered in the shadows with a shimmer of a red hue to them, which made them intriguing to look at because his eyes were completely black, or they were just that deep of a red. The red glint in them stood out even more because, like Hellfire, his use of eye shadow and eyeliner made them all the more striking and beautiful to look at. It made Suri mentally note that this agency had far too many guys who killed it in the makeup department. She really had to step her game up.

Also, how would Izuku look with eyeliner?

"Every squad operates in groups of three, plus their squad manager, right?" Suri questioned, because she knew she had that part right from orientations. Every squad was built the same as the four pillars that made up the leadership and ownership of the Outsiders Agency.

"That would be the case, yes, but that is not the case for us," the boy shrugged and went back to looking at the case files he was reading through.

"Why is that though?" Suri questioned again, thoroughly confused.

"We had already begun necessary restructuring of our hero groups last month, which worked out quite favorably for the three of you."

Suri turned around to find one of the four pillars herself escorting Yumei behind her. The beast girl smiled at both women as they entered the last group of desks on the first floor and both her and her upperclassmen bowed their heads to them in greeting. The woman escorting Yumei was tall with an athletic build that was an almost perfect hourglass shape which was highlighted by the brightly colored spandex suit that hugged her entire form. She gave the two other teens a small smile which was made more prominent by the dark green lipstick she wore and made darker by her pure black almond shaped eyes. She had two sets of these eyes and made the constant, seemingly unconscious, effort to keep the set high on her brow closed, giving the illusion of small, dark, but pretty, eyebrows. The word that came to mind describing her was just that; pretty. She had a very delicate supermodel aura to her, like she should be doing makeup and hair commercials with Uwabami. It was a nice disguise from the fact that, like her hero namesake and Quirk, she could string you up with her silk threads and either paralyze or kill you with her venomous bite.

"Good morning, Miss DreamWeaver," Suri and the boy greeted in unison.

"Goodmorning, Rook, Wild Eyes," the spider woman greeted kindly. She then motioned with her primary left arm - her lower set of arms comfortably placed behind her back - towards the snake girl behind her. "You both know Nagamaki, yes?"

"Yes," Rook answered evenly.

"Oh yeah," Suri answered with a playful purr and wink, happily teasing her friend.

The playfulness earned Suri a soft chuckle from the woman, and a soft blush from Yumei.

"Good, then today's task shouldn't be too difficult for you," she answered with a pleasantly satisfied tone. "For the last week or so, Sasayaki and I have been personally mentoring and teaching our Nagamaki here the ins and outs of being a team manager. We feel it would be beneficial for her, and for the two of you, to be the manager in training of Zeta Squad."

"If that is what you desire, ma'am, then we will be more than happy to accommodate her in her role," Rook answered with a slight bow.

"Very well then," DreamWeaver answered, and then motioned with both of her right arms towards the desk in the corner neighboring Suri's corner of the square, The desk, Suri realized then, had a desktop computer with three monitors, a work laptop, a landline phone, and a small radio system all situated together. She also noticed that it hadn't had a chair and actually sat a little higher than her own desk. "This will be your desk, my dear."

"Thank you, DreamWeaver, ma'am," Yumei graciously bowed her head and then slithered her way to the desk itself before curling her lower body into a coil which she then sat on. The coiled portion itself was taller on one side which gave her upper half a sort of back to lean into. The entire gesture made it look like she was sitting in one of those giant bean bag seats. "And thank you, Rook, I'll do my best."

"Very well," the spider woman smiled and then looked at Rook. "I will leave these ladies in your hands. I trust they won't be too much of a hassle?"

She made an effort to give both Suri and Yumei a knowing look. The effort made Suri grin, raise her hand to her side and hold three fingers up pressed together.

"Scout's honor, ma'am."

That made DreamWeaver giggle, bow her head to the three of them and then she turned and left the teens to their own devices. Rook looked back and forth between the two girls and took a deep breath before letting it out slowly. He had an idea of the trouble the two girls would probably mean for him if they were ever left alone for a second.

The two of them were going to age him like nothing else would.

He pondered that thought for a moment and then sifted his papers back into their folders neatly before putting them out of the way. His was the only one of the four desks that didn't have the L-shape running against the wall or balcony which meant he could watch the activities of the other three. It honestly made sense, with him being team leader and all, for that to be the case. And because of his set up it meant that he had to come out and around to the center of their team's area after he stood from his desk. He watched both girls for a moment as he leaned back onto his desk and sat himself on the edge of it and mentally went through the different ideas he had for the day.

In this position, it gave the girls a better view of their team leader entirely. He was definitely attractive in the same way Hellfire or even Aizawa was in that dark and mysterious goth rocker guy way. His hair was slicked back and pulled into a small samurai style ponytail and the sides of his head were buzzed neatly high above his pointed, elven shaped ears which made them stand out in fantastic detail. Like his eyes, his hair appeared to be black, but because of the two thin, symmetrically placed crimson streaks, it revealed his hair was just that deep of a red. It also drew attention to his smooth, pale skin, which was fair even amongst other Japanese men.

His hero costume reminded Suri of both Jirou and Tokoyami, as if their costumes had a love child. The lower half was nothing more than a pair of dark acid washed denim jeans and black combat boots that were done up with red laces. His waist was adorned in a matching red utility belt with various pouches at his sides while the large circular buckle at the front had a black silhouette of a bird in its center. His upper body was nearly as non descript with him wearing a simple, plain black long sleeve undershirt. The thing that made the upper portion of the costume stand out was the armored vest he wore which was mostly red with black trimming. On the center of his chest was a large white circular emblem with a black wispy R in the center that was enveloped on either side by a pair of bird's wings. To complete the look was a black leather jacket that draped down to the backs of his knees and had a split up the middle to the waist so it created dual tails. The thing that stood out about the jacket most was the collar which flared wide outwards the width of his shoulders, and showed off the red satin inner lining of the jacket in a magnificent display. The flare was reminiscent of a vampire's cape, harkening back to the classic Dracula or Nosferatu sort of design. To complete his look, he had the jacket sleeves rolled up to his elbows, which would normally show off his tone forearms but instead showed off a series of three ringlets around them. Each ringlet was a thin metal bracelet, painted red, connected by thin wires along the inside of the forearms, the lower of which was studded. He then wore a pair of red, fingerless gloves and, finally, he had his red masquerade style half mask currently draped around his neck.

"As Miss DreamWeaver stated," he started evenly, his tone and demeanor was very similar to Aizawa's but had the hint of wanting to be poetic and nuanced like Tokoyami. It was an interesting dynamic to say the least, like you weren't sure if you were going to get scolded or serenaded with Edgar Allan Poe. "Today will be light. I suggest we have a preliminary run and see how you do on comms, Nagamaki. Lunch will be on me afterwards and we can go over areas of improvement for both of you. If I feel confident in both of your abilities, we will resume patrols until your time is up. Sound fair?"

"Yes, sir," both Suri and Yumei said in unison with excited, happy chirps to their voices,

"Very well, let's get started."

The morning went about as expected during patrols. Yumei had a couple mistakes relaying information from the agency's database and call-line to Rook and Wild Eyes but once she had gotten over her initial stress and worry, she did great. After that first day on the job jitters started to melt away, she felt more natural in the roll and was easy on the ears as she spoke through the small earpieces her teammates wore. It helped that the morning patrol was relatively slow and not exciting in the least. In fact, aside from Suri jumping into a large tree to fish out a little girl's pet cat or seeing Rook make an inhuman leap to stop a little boy's balloon from getting away, the only other thing they'd done was check on a couple of people involved in a minor traffic accident. No injuries, barely any damage done to either vehicle, but Rook insisted on waiting with both parties until police arrived on scene.

By the time noon rolled around, both of the girls were starting to get hungry but waited it off until Rook said it was time. It was the rumbling sound Rook's stomach made, which was loud enough to be heard over the comms, that both sent the girls into laughing fits and made their team leader decide on lunch. Lunch was a burger joint a block away from the agency that was Americana themed with a bunch of memorabilia from 1950s American music, cars, and sports decorating the interior. It made the girls' stomachs growl just as loudly as Rook when the scent of charbroiled burgers and deliciously greasy food hit their noses. Trying to accommodate Yumei's form did present a bit of a hassle, to which she feverishly apologized to her teammates and the waiter alike. She had even tried excusing herself for causing the inconvenience.

Between the waiter graciously putting them into a booth she managed to fit into and Suri practically pushing her into said booth; she stayed.

It helped that, as Suri was ordering, she gently stroked her fingers along Yumei's scaled body that was propped up over the beast girl's lap and helped ease the snake girl's anxiety. Yumei sat in the middle of the booth, her lower half extending outwards like she was resting her legs on Suri before curling back under the table on Rook's side, around the table's leg, and back out Suri's side next to her feet. Neither Suri or Rook seemed to mind the room her body, which was five meters in length, took up around them. She eased even more once the food was brought out to the table and the three of them were able to dig in.

"So Nagamaki," Rook addressed politely as he dabbed his lips with a napkin between bites of his burger. It was a miracle he hadn't made an absolute mess between the grease and the still bloody juices of his burger that was barely cooked to rare. "I know for someone new to all of this, more than just the job itself, it's been a lot to take in. Are you certain you're ready to dive into the preternatural community as quickly as you are?"

"If I'm being honest," she said quietly, setting her burger down and staring at the center of the table for a long moment. She never met either of her teammate's eyes as she finally collected herself to continue speaking. "No. Not really anyway. But, like, that's why I'm here."

"Do you take issue to working with us non humans?" Rook continued.

"No," Yumei answered quickly, shaking her head vigorously like she was scared that she might have offended either Rook or Suri. "Not at all. If anything, that helps me more, right? Like, what better way to learn about the community than to, like, ya know, be here?"

"You really like being thrown into the frying pan, don't you?" Suri smirked.

"Many would consider a baptism by fire to be quite reckless," Rook said, his lips trying hard to hide his own tiny smirk. "Seems to be a habit of yours, Nagamaki."

Yumei grumbled at that notion and then looked at their team leader with a nervous expression.

"How… much do you know about me?" She asked cautiously.

"Just what I've been told by Alpha Team," Rook said nonchalantly.

Alpha Team was a pillar of the Outsiders Agency. Though it was a little presumptuous for the four pro heroes who owned the agency to name themselves that. Then again, when you have one of the most powerful werebears in the world and a hellspawn descendant of Leviathan himself on your team, it made sense. Take into account that DreamWeaver was in the top 25 of all of Japan and Libra was not far behind her in the top 50s, they made a great team.

"Seems kinda unfair that you know a lot about us but we know practically nothing about you," Suri shrugged and pursed her lips at their team leader.

He looked up at Suri and narrowed his eyes at the beast girl, contemplating her comment. He then turned his head and looked towards the snake girl in the middle of the booth and then back. His focus trained hard on the middle of the table like he was contemplating something far harder than it needed to be thought about before he shrugged, let out a long sigh and relaxed back into his seat.

"Natsukage Ketsuiki," he said simply.

"Huh?" both Suri and Yumei questioned.

"That's my name," he answered simply again. When he saw the girls still stare at him with confused faces of why he offered his name and nothing more he closed his eyes and sighed again. "I, like you Kuroyashi, am a student at UA. Third year, in the B class of the hero course, if you must know. And like I alluded to before, I am not entirely human either. I'm a dhampir."

"A dhampir?" the snake girl questioned while Suri simply blinked a couple times and took much more interest in the boy across the table from her.

"I am half vampire," he answered plainly again. The revelation made Yumie quickly look around at all of the light coming into the restaurant. Before she could lean forward to whisper her concern and shock he smiled softly and raised a hand to her. "I'm not of the undead so sunlight doesn't affect me and I don't have to die at dawn each morning. I do, however, have to consume nearly as much blood as most of my vampiric kin. But, as you can see, it's not my sole form of sustenance."

"I thought dhampir didn't have to drink as much blood as vampires?" Suri questioned.

"Normally that would be the case, yes, but that's a story for another day."

Suri narrowed her eyes at him and smirked because surely he had his reasons to not want to talk family. So she thought of something else to ask.

"Why, Rook?"

The question caught him and Yumei off guard and both of them looked down at his chest and subsequently his belt buckle. He stared for a moment longer and then looked back up and shrugged his shoulders.

"Raven and Crow were both taken and seemed too forward. A rook is a corvid as well but might seem friendlier to a wider audience. It's also my mother's favorite bird," he answered.

"Aww," Yumei swooned. "You're a momma's boy!"

Rook stared wide eyed at the girl and his cheeks sprouted into a shade of pink before he quickly turned back to his food and promptly began stuffing his face. It meant he didn't have to answer any more questions so long as his mouth was full. It also gave the girls something to giggle and laugh about before they too went back to finishing their food. The lunch break finished quietly with both girls still relishing in both the food and the fact that their quiet, straightforward team leader was a total momma's boy. Not that either of them minded. It surely wasn't like Suri was currently dating a guy who was a well established momma's boy. If anything, it gave Rook more points in their books.

As the three stepped out of the restaurant and back out onto the sidewalk, Rook and Suri secured their eye masks into place. It signified they were back on the job and they began escorting Yumei back towards the agency. They would finish the day with normal patrols, teaching the snake girl the live event duties of being a team manager. And, like they had planned, it would be an easy, run of the mill day.

It was then that Suri stopped dead in her tracks and her nose flared. Rook wasn't far behind her as he paused and his nose flexed as well. They stared at each other, eyes going wider and wider with each passing second as a familiar smell hit their noses. Yumei paused and looked at them both, confused at first and then she saw their expressions and a feeling of dread shot through her entire body. It was then that Suri went into beastwoman form in a near instant, which made Yumei gulp nervously. Then she watched both of her teammates take off running and she steeled herself to quickly slither after them, the three of them quickly moving through several alleys and making the two block run in as short of a span as they could manage.

The run led them to an apartment building that had people scrambling to get away from it. Some of the people running were covered in blood but didn't seem injured at all. When they saw the two costumed heroes they began screaming and shouting, directing them towards the basement of the complex. One word stuck out in all of the screaming and it made Suri nervous with just how much everyone was screaming 'monster'. Yumei stayed outside, calling Kodiak directly to tell him what they'd come across while Suri and Rook continued on with Suri following his lead. The blood trails led to a basement apartment that had the door frame completely ripped out of the wall and several dismembered limbs strewn everywhere.

"Heroes at the door!" Rook shouted, his vampiric fangs now prominent as he spoke. He then reached down to each arm and twisted the studded bracelets around his wrists which made Suri's eyes widen even more. Her nose was hit with the scent of blood and pure power before watching as blood took shape at his wrists and crystalized into dual blades. "Surrender yourself now peacefully or face consequences."

There was silence for a long moment. It made both of the teens immeasurably uncomfortable and nervous and they both looked at each other, silently questioning whether or not to step inside. Just as Rook took a step forward he froze again and both his and Suri's eyes went wide again as a little girl quietly stepped out into the open. The girl wore nothing more than a stained and tattered baggy tee shirt and her olive skin was covered in grime and bruises. She looked up with wide terrified golden eyes at the two heroes but still kept her distance out of fear and caution. Similar to Shiozaki, her hair wasn't hair at all but made up of ivy and large feathered leaves, flowering behind a pair of small fawn antlers that sprouted from patches of skin that resembled tree bark.

It was that moment that Suri realized she was looking at a small dryad child.

"I-Is… I-Is she gone?" she asked quietly, barely more than a trembling whisper.

"Everything is okay," Suri answered, forcing her fear back and trying to put on a brave face for the girl. "There's no one else here anymore and more heroes are on the way. You're safe."

"Is who gone?" Rook questioned carefully, looking around in disbelief that one person caused this much carnage. One person had quite literally painted this entire apartment, the stairwell, and apartment lobby in blood, flesh, and gore? One person?

"T-the l-laughing lady."
