The fight between Suri and Gemini draws to a close.
Suri's eyes fluttered open.
There had been a blinding flash of light that hit with a loud bellowing sound. The closest thing she could think of was the surround sound commercial in movie theaters that ended with that loud sub bass explosion. Instead of a high pitched ringing, it was that low hum that eventually disappeared into silence.
The silence was unnerving.
As the white around her vision subsided, her surroundings came flooding in and she began to realize several things. The power in her was surging, flowing through her body rapidly like a steady flow of heat and electricity doing laps in her bloodstream. The power felt amazing. It felt exhilarating. And, most of all, it felt absolutely right. It felt like she could quite literally take on the world and come out on top and be ready to take on another army after that. She could feel the ghostly sensation of those oathed to her running through the trees, the scent of mountain deer lingering somewhere in the back of her mind. Even though they were miles away she could feel them, she could feel the beasts bound to her now and she could feel the incredible power of the land around the throne caressing her heart.
It felt fucking amazing.
Upon feeling the power coursing through her she then noticed herself. She raised her arms and looked over the coarse fur that coated her entire body, and saw the large animalistic hands with shimmering claws. She rolled her neck and felt the swollen muscle mass in her body that made her taller, bulkier, and look as strong as she felt. She took that first step forward and felt the muscles in her digitigrade legs soothe from finally being let loose and free. She remembered the first time she felt this body and relished in the delight of mastering a new form and was gleeful as she shook the cobwebs out of her head. She'd done it, she'd taken on a form that she'd referred to as Classic Beast because she now looked like what werewolves and lycanthropes had been depicted as throughout history, literature, and film.
And the power that came with this Classic form felt like getting into a classic muscle car because you could hear and feel those several hundred or even thousands of horsepower from miles away. It felt almost orgasmic in a way.
Then came the next realization that made her stop ogling over her body and power and took stock in the situation at hand. The realization that she was now staring down at the panting form of Gemini below her a few feet away. The realization that the villainess was covered in blood that was both her own and the blood of Suri's coworkers and fellow heroes.
"You!" Gemini growled harshly and began to pull herself up off the ground. "Why are you so damn hard to kill?!"
"Guess I'm just a bad match for you," Suri spoke and she was partially startled to hear her voice dueted with Atiena's in a mix of human and beastial tones. When she tried searching inside her mind to their shared inner sanctum she found it was practically gone. Instead of her and Atiena separated, she realized that her and Atiena were more than just entangled as one. It was no longer her leaning into Atiena's chest while the beast hugged her from behind, they were one solid being now. "I'm an opponent that you're not going to win, Vyktoria."
"Don't you dare," Gemini snarled, smearing her forearm across her mouth and wiping the blood away from her lips. "That bitch is dead. Heh hehehe you hear me? She's dead!"
The hyena woman turned and grabbed the steel container that she'd tried to use as a weapon against Suri. It apparently had been blown back when the change came and took Gemini with it, injuring her in the process. Now she wielded it again, grabbing it and then twisting her body violently to throw the giant metal box towards Suri. The beast woman, for her effort, watched it coming towards her then slashed outwards with her claws, severing the steel container into ribbons of crumpled debris.
Debris that came with a ravenous villain behind it.
Gemini was still going through her transformation as she came at Suri and finished just as she reached the beast girl. She was now in her own classic form, the same form they'd fought each other with on the last full moon. Her white and grey fur glistened and shimmered under the full moon light while her pale blue hair seemed to get washed out into its own pale glowing color. It struck Suri that for a second she could be considered beautiful but seeing the look in her eyes washed that thought away immediately and drowned it in the ocean. Suri growled loudly into the night as she caught the hyena woman and stopped her in her tracks, forcing her to the ground in front of her. Gemini laughed callously and grinned with vicious intent as she quickly forced herself back onto her feet and the two women began grappling with each other. They held each other in a stand off, keeping each other at bay and having their large animalistic paws clawing at the ground beneath them to keep both of them in place.
"Don't forget that I killed you once already, you little bitch," Gemini sneered. "I'll be more than happy to do it again!"
"That's not happening," Suri growled back. "You're not getting away this time."
Suri let her new flood of power pour from the surface of her body, filling the container yard with a massive wave of hot, electric energy. The weight and heat of the power threatened to drown and suffocate Gemini who snarled and hissed at the whips and arcs of green gold electricity that smacked and pounded at her skin. The hissing became laughs that were forced through gritted teeth and crazed eyes as she forced her own power out to combat Suri's, letting the yard fill with a violent storm of the mixing energies that refused to back down and succumb to the other.
"And who's gonna stop me? Hehehe. You?! You're too chicken shit to pull that trigger and you know it," Gemini mocked and smiled maniacally.
Suri refused to answer her and forced herself forward, pushing Gemini's weight back onto her own legs as Suri came to tower over her. She didn't want to have a bluff called but some part of her knew that Gemini was right. After everything she'd done, Suri knew that killing her was the right choice. But was it a choice a hero would make?
"You will answer for your crimes," Suri snarled, offering that up as her answer.
"Will I?" Gemini asked, her voice swinging from crazed and evil to sickly sweet and innocent.
Her sickly sweet laugh began ringing out, echoing off of the steel walls of the containers around them and becoming haunting. She leapt upwards quick and high, forcing Suri to make the choice between holding on and letting Gemini take her with her and letting go. The beast woman chose the latter and then leapt upwards herself to give chase to the hyena woman and threw a hard right hook at the airborne woman. The right hook went unanswered however and was caught before Gemini spun herself in the air violently and took Suri with her. She had a flashback from the forest as she relived the sensation of Gemini throwing her through the air but this time, instead of a series of trees, she went through several steel containers which buckled from her impact and swallowed her whole. It was fast, violent, and hurt like hell as the steel cut into her flesh like massive, ragged claws. She groaned as she pulled herself out of one of the imploded metal boxes and opened her eyes in time to see Gemini launching herself at her.
Suri felt a grip tighten around her throat as Gemini grabbed her by the neck, spun, and then slammed her head through the back wall of the container she'd crashed into. It left her head forced through one side of the wall while her body was left open on the other and she struggled to pull herself back through the hole. She felt the hyena woman begin to viciously claw at her stomach and breasts, tearing ribbons into her skin with her razor sharp claws. Suri gasped and screamed from the pain and the feeling of the cool night air stinging against the fresh wounds. She grunted and screamed as she thought to come up with the only move she could think of at that moment and bounced herself upwards into the older woman. The beast girl went from trying to fend off Gemini's claws to leaping high enough to latch the hyena woman with her legs, trapping her head and neck between her thighs. From there she locked her shins and began squeezing, flexing her thick muscular legs around the other woman and putting pressure directly on her trachea. Gemini grunted and groaned as she clawed at the backs of Suri's thighs while the airflow to her lungs and brain became more and more restricted. It became worse for Gemini as Suri relented from fighting off her clawing completely and opted to grab her by the hair and face, forcefully putting one of her hands over her nose and mouth.
Gemini, seeing the attempt to choke her out was starting to pay off, screamed and pulled back, forcefully ripping Suri from the debris. For Suri, it was incredibly painful and she bit her lip to keep herself from screaming. The reaction to her own pain was short lived however, as she had to fend off Gemini, now picking her up and lifting her into the air only to drive her into the ground below in an attempt to break Suri's hold held around her neck. The hyena woman repeated the process several times, slamming Suri's back into the gravel and metal debris again and again until, on the fifth time having her back and the back of her head rocked, Suri relented. She was left groaning on the ground and opened her eyes in time to react to Gemini coming down on her, catching the hyena woman's fists.
"Just lemme gut you! I wanna see what your insides look like!"
"And I want you to sit… the fuck… down!"
Suri spat her last word with as much venom and power and she could put behind it and let an explosion of energy pop. The wave of domineering energy threw Gemini back and pulled her down with a suffocating weight, whipping and snapping at her until she struggled to pick herself off the ground. When Suri got up onto her feet, so did Gemini who forced herself through Suri's power and came at her with claws and fangs. Suri roared into the night as the two women came at each other with full force, pounding fists into each other, punching and clawing each other with as much strength as they could.
For the next few minutes Suri and Gemini battered each other with animalistic brutality that left both of them covered in blood, both each other's and their own. They were hitting each other hard enough that both of them were left with cracked ribs, fractured or broken noses, and lacerations covering them head to toe. During a hail of fists, Suri turned on her speed, quickly disappearing and reappearing around the hyena woman and striking her at random. Gemini was getting battered from the flurry or sporadic hits that she eventually hit one knee as was panting from exhaustion and pain. She began growling, filling the yard with the rumble of it before she snapped and screamed into the night.
"Enough!" Gemini screamed with a pop of lycanthropic power that sent Suri skidding on her side across the gravel.
Suri growled as she pulled herself up onto her hands and knees, stalking in this feral pose as she watched Gemini struggle to stand upright. Gemini laughed and giggled as she took the same feral pose on all fours, her tail wagging playfully as they locked eyes with one another.
"Gods, you are the most fun I've ever had," Gemini sighed with a giggle. "You, Suri, are so special, you know that?"
"Trust me, I'm flattered," Suri replied in a low, dangerous tone before spitting a wad of blood and saliva to the side of her. "But why? Why kids?"
"Oh sweetie, how is it not obvious to you?" Gemini laughed. "What do the clans value just as much as these stupid ass traditions?"
Suri growled low but forced herself to answer the villainess.
"The young ones, the future of the clans."
"Exactly! Gods you're smart, hehehe," Gemini snickered. "So what better way to call out challenges so that I can get stronger? Plus it makes the fights more fun when something like that is on the line."
"They're just kids!" Suri screamed back.
"So was I!" Gemini screamed back, the humor completely gone in her voice. "But that didn't stop them, did it? Noooo~ That didn't stop that bitch from doing what she did."
"What are you talking about? What justifies this?!"
"Hehehe, oh sweetie, don't act like you give a shit now," Gemini sighed, letting her smile creep back onto her lips. "That would be a lie and lying isn't very hero like, now is it? Oh wait… maybe it is heh hehehe."
"Shoulda known it was a stupid idea to try and understand a psychopath like you," Suri grumbled under her breath. Her eyes caught sight of something in her peripheral and her anger began to boil as she realized what she was seeing. The sight of six decapitated heads that once belonged to heroes, her coworkers, people she was getting to know and trying to become friends with. "So why do this? Why go this far?"
"Like I said, hehe, maybe lying is part of being a hero. Cause ya see, those idiots had it coming," Gemini chuckled and shrugged her big shoulders. "I mean I know I'm not right in the head, we can all agree on that hahaha. But my god, even I find it fascinating and even a little crazy how trusting people are."
"What are you talking about?" Suri narrowed her eyes at the villainess and gritted her teeth.
"Oh Suri, my sweet little child," Gemini sighed and rolled her eyes in exasperation. "You've been my little plaything this whole time, you get that don't you? I knew I had to face you the first time I saw you, I knew I had to play with you. You, sweetie, gods I've wanted to fight you and fuck you more than I've ever wanted anything in my life hehehe."
Suri shivered and gritted her teeth again as she listened to the hyena woman. Even though she knew the woman was just trying to get under her skin, throw her game off, and distract her, Suri couldn't help the stings of doubt that poked at the back of her mind. Was she crazy or was she telling the truth? What if it was both?
"I've been following you since that Sports Festival thing. I knew I had to come here after I saw the potential, how much fun we could have together. But not just you, that was when I first saw Bakugou too. Watching the two of you? Hehehe, it was like porn," Gemini giggled happily and licked her lips then.
"I wanted both of you, so I did what any girl in my position would do. I came here, started following Shigi around, found out his plans with the League and knew it was my ticket to both of you. Oh it was icing on the cake when they grabbed Bakugou while I was playing with you and, even though you weren't as fun as I had hoped, I knew we could have more fun if you had time to get stronger. And then that night with Bakugou?" Gemini lingered and trailed off making Suri watch as the woman visibly shivered and her eyes glazed over with a weird look of genuine love and pure unadulterated lust in her eyes. "It's so weird to not want to kill someone hehe heh like, oh my gods soooo weird. Hahaha! But… well here we are."
Suri couldn't help but be taken aback by what the hyena woman was saying. It made her freeze. Freeze because she knew that look of genuine love, it was the same look that her moms gave each other, the same look Tooru, Mina, and Izuku gave to her, the same she gave to them. It wasn't a lie. But was that truly possible? Could Gemini actually be in love with Bakugou?
"I've been dreaming about him. I was kinda hoping he'd be with you but he's got that make up class or whatever. Gods he's so handsome, isn't he? The way he looks under certain lighting when he's walking home to UA gives me so many options to see him. He's so hot, like I know his mom's a model and all but, goddamn, it's not fair how gorgeous he is," Gemini grinned in a weird, almost innocent schoolgirl kind of way.
That said, she'd just admitted to following him home and spying on him. She'd admitted she'd all but come onto the UA grounds and could have taken him again at any point in time over the last few weeks. That realization was terrifying. Terrifying to know that he could have gone missing and they wouldn't have known about it. Was it any wonder why he was having the metaphysical shared dreams of her? She'd been within inches of him but she'd resisted taking him.
No, instead she killed people, kidnapped dozens of fae children, and put together the entire operation to bring Suri out. For what? This confession. Why confess in the first place? More than that, why go to all of this trouble for a fledgling like Suri?
"Why go out of your way like this? How did you know that this would even work?" Suri questioned, trying to steer the conversation away from how much Gemini was genuinely smitten with Bakugou.
"Oh sweetie, just like I said, you trust people way too easily. And you're not nearly thankful enough, you know that? I mean, I literally gave you a present and you didn't even know it, did you?" Gemini shook her head and tsked Suri with a sickly sweet smile.
Suri watched Gemini and then couldn't fight herself as she looked back to the decapitated heads not more than a couple meters from her. They were no longer in the neat line they had been when she and Rook discovered them but were displaced from the battle.
"Yeah, hehe hehehe heh, they weren't your friends, Suri. In fact," Gemini chuckled again, stalking to the line of heads and then picking one of them up. She held the hero's head next to hers and then used her free hand to move his mouth, her voice becoming more sinister then. "What was it they said? Hmmm. Oh yeah! We're sick of working with these freaks, they don't have a place in hero society, they need to go back to hiding under the bed like the creepy monsters they are."
Gemini laughed hysterically after she finished mocking one of the dead heroes' voices, nearly rolling on the ground in her own fit of laughter. It made Suri's eyes widen because even though she knew she shouldn't trust the villainess in front of her, she knew. She knew that the hyena woman was telling the truth. A truth that scared the hell out of her.
"They were so stupid with how trusting they were! They got what they deserved because they gave me what I needed to call out to you. I was going to destroy the Outsiders Agency before, cause how could I resist taking on that big sexy bear? But imagine my luck when you went and put in your application for them. Imagine my luck when these heroes came to me, wanting me to get rid of their monster problem because they'd skimmed through my profile. These heroes were garbage that deserved to be disposed of, because they didn't value what kind of heroes they had, what kind of hero they have in you."
"Are you expecting me to thank you or something? You killed them! How many are on your record now? How do you expect to get away, Vyktoria?" Suri choked up and spat at her.
Gemini narrowed her eyes and growled at the use of her name. She stalked forward a step and let the rumble in her throat reverberate dangerously.
"Because we're friends of course! Hehehe! Ha-AH!"
Gemini snarled and then began laughing, hysterically and full of humor before her body was flattened out to the ground. It was like there was a giant weight that had grabbed her and slammed her to the ground. A weight that was keeping her in place.
"You," came a choked, gritty voice that was hoarse from screaming but was wet from blood that was dribbling from his mouth. Suri recognized the voice and turned to see Libra, barely able to drag himself anywhere from his injuries, holding out his left hand towards Gemini.
"Sir! Are oka-AH!" Suri turned to run to the hero's aid but was immediately hit with a weight on her back and began being crushed into the ground like Gemini was. She saw the anger and fury in his eyes, she felt and tasted the anger and rage boiling from him. "L-Libra!"
"Don't! Don't you dare you fucking animal," he growled and brought his hands down. The action made Suri scream and Gemini growl as more weight and pressure were applied to them and Suri felt her ribs begin to slowly crack. If this went on for much longer, there'd be nothing left of either wereanimal but a puddle and blood and gore. "T-This! This all your fault!"
Gemini began laughing then, happily enjoying the pain that begging delivered. Not to mention the fact she was getting the entertainment of one hero turning on another.
"I knew you were working with her. I knew! But I still went along with them. Why? Why would you take my friends from me like that?" Libra struggled to speak but his words came out loud and clear. Even through choking up blood, even through the tears, Suri heard him perfectly. He was so angry at everything. What had happened?
"W-Where's Kodiak a-and Hellfire?" Suri grunted out, looking up at the man who was essentially her boss with fear in her eyes.
"A-Alester… he's gone. Just gone! I don't know what happened to him but Alexie," Libra sobbed as he mentioned Hellfire and Kodiak. The pain in his voice was on full display now as he didn't even bother to shield their names with code words. Then rage filled his eyes and voice again as he sent more of his gravity manipulating power into his left hand and began crushing Gemini even more. His hands directed gravitational fields that he could manipulate and control and right now, he was making the gravitational pull around both Gemini and Suri triple or even quadruple in strength. "He had a family! He had kids! W-Why? Why would you take him from them, you… You. Psychotic. Fucking. Bitch!"
Suri's eyes widened at Libra's revelations and she turned to Gemini and let the anger in her own body begin to boil over.
"What did you do to them?!"
"Hehehe hehe! Surprise! Hahaha! Gah!"
"Stop laughing!" Libra snarled. Then his eyes turned on Suri and it made her shrink, she'd never been looked at with that much hate and disdain, not since… Not since Hyrum. "How? How could you do this to us? After we took you in? How could you be friends with this?"
"Sir! I swear, I'm not working with her! I pro-AH!"
Suri screamed as she was hit with another forceful blow from Libra's Quirk, but at the same time, she barely resisted him. She knew he was hurting, knew he couldn't be reasoned with in this state. But still, he had to know she wasn't working with Gemini. After everything, how could he think that of Suri?
"Libra please, I swear on my gods I'm not on her side," Suri hissed out as the pain in her chest grew more and more as the weight of gravity forced her into the ground.
"How could you do that to them? To Kanzashi, Ubawaga, Sato, Kamegure, Tsumiaki, and Mugo? What did they ever do to you?" Libra sobbed.
"Oh! Oh! I know I know," Gemini cackled and laughed, forcing herself up enough to raise her hand like she was trying to get the teacher's attention in a classroom. The fact she was able to move made Libra cough up another thick lump of blood and stare wide eyed at her. "You see, they were my friends just as much as your friends. They even said so! They said you hated the freaks just as much as they did! Hahaha!"
"W-What? What are you talking about, villain?" Libra began breathing hard like he was beginning to hyperventilate.
"Hah! Think about it, smarty pants. Who gave you the intel on my little playground here?"
"U-Ubawaga," Libra said slowly and turned his head to look at the severed heads laid out on the ground, focusing in on one in particular.
"Ding ding ding! Yeah! She told me all about what you thought about working with non-humans," Gemini giggled and rolled her head back and forth happily. "Wanna know the funniest thing about her though?"
Gemini literally waited a few seconds for an answer but when she realized she wasn't going to get one she continued on like she was gossiping with her friends. Yeah because this was totally like chatting about office gossip by the water fountain.
"She wasn't even human! Hahaha! She was so scared to let you find out she was some kind of fairy thing or whatever. Hehe hehehehe! It's so silly right? You've been banging a non-human for, like, years now and you had no idea. How funny is that?! Hahaha-AH!"
"S-Shut up!" Libra coughed and snarled at the woman as he dragged his broken and injured body towards her. "There's no way. You're lying!"
"S-Scouts honor! Hehehe," Gemini choked out with humor as the pressure on her grew.
Libra's expression began to grow more crazed as he looked down at the villain and watched her. He saw the humor there sure, but he also saw something else, something that scared him. He stared down at her for a long moment then back at the deceased heroes, focused in on the blonde woman and then slowly turned back to look nowhere in particular. The realization on his face set in and fresh tears began to pour down his cheeks and his chest began to heave. The truth of it all began sinking in like a massive weight in his gut that threatened to flatten him like he had been doing to Gemini and Suri. The beast girl for her part stared wide eyed and horrified at her deceased teammates, letting the knowledge that they'd been appalled or scared of her to go as far as to set up a trap for her and the other shifters at the agency.
Had she really been that bad of a friend to those around her?
"She sold out her own kind," Gemini said in a sweet sing-song voice that carried so much haunting terror to it. Then her voice dropped into a sickening humor filled growl as she stared up at the hero in front of her. "For you!"
"N-No," Libra whispered and began backing away slowly. His body began shaking in fear as his feet dragged through the gravel. The change in emotion and his body weakening from his injuries caused his power to falter and soon, neither wereanimal felt the gravitational pull around them. He'd lost himself completely.
With the pressure no longer pushing her to the ground, Gemini lifted herself and began stalking forward towards the pro hero. She raised her hand up with a wide maniacal grin, pulling back to drive a fist through him. Suri screamed and bolted when Gemini came down on him. There was a blur of motion between all three of them and Libra had time to close his eyes and brace for the hit. A hit that never came. When Libra blinked and came out of his daze he was staring up at Suri above him instead and saw blood seep from her lips. She coughed and groaned, letting thick globs of blood and gore splash onto the older pro hero's chest. Seeing her bleeding on him made him blink rapidly and his eyes quickly found the cause and what had happened.
"Y-You… oh my god, why?" he choked out, voice full of pain and remorse.
"D-Didn't I tell you?" Suri smirked, breathing heavily before she looked to the side and spat blood onto the ground. "And here I thought you'd already placed your bets on me."
"B-But why? After I-"
"S-Sir, with all due respect, please shut the fuck up," Suri chuckled and then growled as the sensation of movement made her entire body shiver and quake in pain.
"Gods, you're so much fun, Suri," Gemini giggled, wiggling her fingers and making Suri lurch forward from the gut wrenching feeling. The three of them looked down in unison and Gemini couldn't help but laugh as she waggled her fingers for Libra and Suri to see. See because she'd punched her claws clean through Suri's body. "Find me again when you want to play."
With that Gemini giggled and pulled her hand out of Suri and then began backing away with a playful hop in her step. Suri collapsed forward and gasped, trying to swallow down the bile and blood that was threatening to come up. In that moment she knew this would be one of the last chances to stop Gemini and she needed to make it happen. The hyena woman needed to pay for her crimes and Suri was the only one who could do that. So even though she was mortally injured, Suri snarled and rolled to turn herself to the hyena woman and got onto all fours. Gemini paused and curiously watched Suri and then began to smile when the beast girl disappeared only to reappear in a blur of motion on the other side of her.
"Oh goodie! You can still play," Gemini clapped happily and then lowered herself, her eyes darting every which way to watch for Suri. She was gleeful as she watched the shimmering after images of Suri appear all around her. "I love this game of yours."
Suri ignored the pain, ignored the wrenching feeling in her gut as she poured her power into her speed. Even though she was running low on energy and her power was rapidly depleting from the pain of having a giant hole in her shoulder out through the space between her right collar bone and chest, she forced herself to continue. Forced herself to run as fast as she could and surround the villainess with a dozen shimmering after images that all glared and scowled hard at the hyena woman.
Trying to keep up her pace became harder as Gemini began swiping at random, nearly clawing Suri several times as she rushed past the psychotic woman. Between dodging, and keeping up her speed and energy, Suri began striking Gemini at random, hitting her with as much strength as she could muster. It was enough that the jabs and strikes began making Gemini teeter back and forth and started pulling the woman off balance.
"Nice try, Suri, but you can't beat me with the same old game! No matter how much fun I have with it," Gemini snickered and swiped wildly, nearly clawing through Suri's face.
Suri knew she had to up her game with this attack and started hitting Gemini more wildly, repeating what she'd done to Pazuzu the night before. The group began closing in and the hard strike came faster and faster at Gemini who tried but failed to fend Suri off of her.
"You're done, Gemini," the crowd of Suri's roared and slashed at Gemini who became covered in rivlets of blood as she was torn open violently. Suri roared in that mix of wolven growl and leopard scream, making her attack all the more animalistic in nature.
"Jury of Wolves!"
As the group of Suri's closed in, Gemini screamed and swung her claws wildly to try and hit the true Suri. The beast girl was in front of the hyena woman and went onto her knees, sliding through the gravel under the crazed woman's attack. It left Gemini wide open and Suri rose up with as much speed and power as she could deliver as she slammed her fist into Gemini's jaw with a violent uppercut. The motion of the attack pushed Gemini back towards the waterfront and then dragged the hyena woman up a chain link fence that ripped into pieces as she went upwards. The fencing came with both of them and with the twisting motion that Gemini's was doing caused by the uppercut, the metal meshing began to wrap around her.
Suri's momentum took her higher than Gemini's peak and she passed her in the air, even more so as Suri brought her knees to her chest. With one last brutal attack, Suri kicked downward, driving her massive paws into Gemini's chest and sent her rocketing back down towards the earth. Gemini screamed as she was sent flying downward into the debris and wreckage from their fight. Suri rode the momentum down and came crashing down onto Gemini below her, essentially stomping her into the ground as she landed on top of the hyena woman before rolling off of her and onto her hands and knees beside her.
Gemini gasped and coughed up blood from the violence of the attack, staring wide eyed up at the full moon. Suri panted and tried to catch her breath, struggling to make it to her feet as her chest rose and fell rapidly. She narrowed her eyes at Gemini to make sure the villainess was truly done and noticed the amount of damage the hyena woman had taken. Not only was she covered in open wounds from Suri's claws and tangled tightly in the metal mesh of the chain link fence but she had a six foot metal pipe jutting from her midsection. In the violence of the final attack, Suri had apparently dropkicked Gemini onto the metal post that had been holding the section of fencing she was wrapped up in. The villainess was impaled and then stomped into the ground by Suri which had caused enough internal damage that she was coughing up blood. A lot of blood and shivering violently from the shock of it all which was going to get worse when her beast form retreated and left her in her human form. Knowing that Gemini wasn't going anywhere, Suri took a deep breath and forced herself upwards onto her feet.
"Give… my regards… to your ancestors," Suri choked out in exhaustion before spitting blood and turning her back on the hyena woman. She turned her sights on the pro hero not far from her and stumbled towards him, clutching her injured shoulder tight. "Libra… sir… are you okay?"
"Y-Yes," he breathed out, his eyes wide and full of white as he watched Suri come towards him. He looked at her and his eyes focused on the hole in her shoulder. "You saved me… even after what I said and did to you… why?"
"Because that's what heroes do," Suri said, falling to her knees beside him and swallowing down the sick feeling in her stomach once again. "Even if we don't get along at first we make it work and we come out on top. Just like you, Kodiak, Hellfire, and DreamWeaver."
Speaking of her team.
Suri lifted her arm slowly and tapped on the comm piece that was thankfully still lodged into her ear somehow. She took a deep breath and sighed as she listened for her teammates first before she spoke into the silence.
"Wild Eyes reporting in," she groaned from pain and then continued on. "Gemini is subdued. Requesting… containment unit. Also, send medical units immediately to my location. Libra and I could both use some assistance."
There was silence for a long moment and Suri felt a hint of fear spiking inside her before she heard a click on the radio.
"Copy that, Wild Eyes. I'm going to make my way back towards you as soon as I can," Rook said, sounding exhausted himself. "Precious cargo has been retrieved and on their way to the rendezvous point.
"Thank god you two are okay," Yumei said after taking in a giant breath and letting it out slowly. She sounded just as exhausted or possibly injured as well. "Home base has been secured so we can send backup units your way immediately."
"Thank you, beautiful," Suri sighed and smiled at Libra who was still looking at her in pure shellshock from everything that had happened. She frowned then and forced herself to stay conscious as her eyesight started to darken, "hey Vipress. Any word on Hellfire and Kodiak? I'm with Libra but he said… something happened to them."
There was some noise on the other end of the comms and she could briefly hear an exhausted DreamWeaver in the background.
"We've made contact with Hellfire, but we have no idea what his location is. Sounds like he doesn't know either. Kodiak is…"
"He's breathing," Rook answered, surprising everyone on the comms. "He's in bad shape and his vitals are weak but I have a pulse and breathing over here."
"Good," Libra breathed, tears welling in his eyes as he choked back tears. "Let's get him help immediately and get Alester the hell back here from wherever the fuck he is."
"Yes, sir," Yumei chirped happily.
"And Zeta Squad," Libra spoke softly. "Please accept my apology for the things I've said to you in the past. Without you tonight… What I'm trying to say is; good job kids."
"Thank you, sir," both Rook and Yumei replied into the comm pieces.
"Not… a problem… sir," Suri said, playfully saluting the gravity user. Then her head began to swim and she felt freezing all of a sudden. As she swayed, her eyes fluttered and she began seeing stars clouding her vision as consciousness began to retreat rapidly from her mind. She had seconds worth of energy left and used it thinking of her mates, knowing they'd be worried sick about her. "H-Hey… Y-YuYu… t-text for m-me… tell them… I'll be home…"
Suri never finished her sentence and instead her last sensation was smacking the gravel in front of her face first. And for a cold, hard, rocky surface, it was actually kinda…
Relaxing.
Now if only she could get that voice yelling her name in her ear to go away so she could sleep.
Yeah, sleep sounded really great right now.
