Suri's dad is just the worst. Shoto is cute. New Year's celebrations come with a lot of big news and reveals.
Happy Mother's Day everyone.
Suri's brain was fried.
Todoroki had dropped the offer of coming with him to do work studies with his dad. The number one hero, Endeavor. It was practically a chance of a lifetime.
No. It was the chance of a lifetime.
She'd been so excited to sign her name on the dotted line and go meet the guy, for one, but get to train with him and learn from him. She'd heard he was intense, if the interviews of the years and the absolutely nightmare-inducing horror stories she heard from Shoto were anything to go by. She'd remembered what she'd heard from her dad, back when he, Endeavor, and All Might were at school together, and how rocky their relationship had become over the last few decades. To say their relationship was a little rocky was an understatement.
And now there was this.
"God dammit, dad," Suri growled furiously under her breath as she clenched her fists hard enough to prick her skin on the insides of her palms with her claws. On top of that, she was angrily pacing back and forth behind her desk, glaring holes into the floor underneath her feet.
"My apologies, Kuroyashi. I didn't know my old man was going to say that," Shoto apologized, looking away uncomfortably.
"No," Suri reassured sternly. "It's not your fault. It's my old man's fault."
"To be fair, I was unaware of this incident as well. I can't say that I agree with him taking his grievance with your father out on you though. Especially since it was so long ago."
"It's just like my pops though. Like, Gods, can he not just keep his dick in his pants for five goddamn minutes?!"
"Umm, what's with her?"
The half of the class that was still in the room looked from Suri pacing and Shoto trying to calm her down and Kendo who was peeking her head in through the back door of the classroom. Pony had come in just a step before and was mostly watching Suri pace while she went stand next to Shoji sitting at his desk. Next was Ibara who eyed the beast girl cautiously as she too made her way into the room, eventually finding herself next to Eijiro's desk. Even the small squawk of surprise from her as Kiri swept her off her feet to sit on to his desk while he wrapped one arm around her waist and nestled his head into her side wasn't enough to pull Suri away.
"Oh, she found out-"
"My dad is a stupid motherfucker!" Suri snarled, cutting off Eijiro's attempted response.
"Technically, only an attempted one," Denki replied, perking up with a wide grin. "And besides that was years ago. Besides h- ow!"
"Not helping, dude," Kyoka hissed, jabbing the blonde with one of her jacks.
"My father also claimed that Alpha openly made advances with Fuyumi as well during her family's most recent visit," Shoto added for clarification.
"I'm sorry, I don't really follow," Kendo said, curling her brow in deeper confusion.
"My older sister," Shoto nodded.
When the words clicked, Kendo's jade colored eyes went wide and her mouth hung open agape as she went from looking at Todoroki to wearily watching Suri. She couldn't pity the beast girl, cause she knew she'd be just as angry if she was in her shoes. Hell, she'd be ready to throw hands if her dad did something as stupid as Suri's did, no hesitation.
"I mean, I don't blame the guy if she's as hot as you," Setsuna blurted out, wrapping an arm over Kendo's shoulder and hanging herself into the doorway. The wide, happy grin filled with sharp teeth made it known that she was joking and having fun with the news in the same way Denki was taking it.
Not everyone was in the teasing mood though.
"I… She's not though. Her Quirk is more similar to our mother's ice based Quirk," Shoto replied, his head tilted in confusion. He then turned his curiosity to Suri and followed up with something not quite absurd, but not something quite on topic either. "What reason would your father have to be with my sister or mother? Would a werewolf with an ice Quirk hold some inherent value in your kind's society?"
That made Suri stop her pacing and turn a shared glance with all of the girls in the room, Denki, and Eijiro. One that was all incredulous and exasperated but it was Setsuna that said out loud what they were all thinking.
"You're lucky you're cute."
"You sure I'm not underdressed here?" Pazuzu groaned as he patted down his shirt for the millionth time. It wasn't like the black and white flannel shirt was going to smooth out anymore than he'd tried to do with the black skinny jeans he was currently wearing either. If anything, the obsessive runs through the washer and dryer today had all but added more grey fading and made them a size or so tighter. Not that the resulting view wasn't appreciated.
"Of course not," Suri rolled her eyes, chuckling once again as they got closer to their destination and could now clearly see the guards standing at the front gate.
"Nah, for real, like, this is the fanciest shit I've got," Pazuzu lamented.
"Mhmm, and you look fine," Tooru encouraged, giving him a pat on the back.
"I dunno man."
"Tadashi, if you don't knock it the fuck off," Suri narrowed her eyes, turning to give him a serious look, casually dropping his nickname as a warning.
"Hey!"
"Then, calm your shit."
"Suri's right, babe. Chill," Ryuko sighed, squeezing his arm that was intertwined with hers as they walked together arm in arm. She gave him a soft, assuring chuckle that didn't quell his nervousness to her hopes. "You weren't this nervous before when the clan was made official."
"Yeah, well we were at school and, like, on our own turf, ya know?"
"Oh gods, are you really that scared of my grandma?" Suri snickered, turning to walk backwards so she could look up into the werewolf's nervous amber eyes.
"No! I mean… Okay, I know I don't give a shit usually, but like this is the Leopard Queen. So fuck y'all if you don't think I wanna give the woman a better impression."
"Awww, lookit Pazuzu," Mina teased wryly, letting a grin stretch from ear to ear as she too turned to walk backwards alongside Suri. "We finally house trained you~"
"Sit on my face."
"Ya know that's not really a threat anymore, right?" Mina again teased, shaking her head and rolling her eyes at him while Pazuzu subsequently stuck his tongue out at her.
"She's got a point," Izuku chuckled, scratching the back of his head as he pointedly looked away from all of the girls. "Since all of them have… you know…"
"Bro, not you too," Pazuzu sighed. "Y'all just hate me, don't you?"
"No, we don't, but they might," Aiko muttered beside Tooru as the group made it to the gate in front of the Kuroyashi compound and were met with guards neither she nor Suri recognized.
"Umm hey gentlemen, we're here for-"
"Dah," one of the men huffed, holding a hand up to silence any further remarks as his other hand pointedly touched one of his ears. On closer inspection the teens could see the small curled cord of an earpiece coming from his ear and disappearing into the collar of his shirt.
"Are they…?" Mina started, narrowing her eyes at the two large guards, neither of which were of Japanese descent. They also held themselves far more rigid than she ever remembered seeing Dai or Ryo hold their post.
"Werebears," Suri, Pazuzu, and Aiko answered in unison, all of them narrowing their eyes at the two guards. On that note, however, all suspicion was put aside as the two large, burly men nodded to each other and then the gates to the compound opened up.
"Ahh haha, there are the little ones!"
"Alexie!" Suri shouted, every ounce of weariness, suspicion, and even a tinge of hostility washed away in a wave of excitement and joy as she broke from the group and bound forward. Her arms wrapped around the big man tightly and pulled him into a hard bear hug. "It's so good to see you!"
"As to you, little one," he chuckled, straining slightly as Suri's arms tightened around him. "But please, try not to kill old man with hug haha."
"Oh. Shit," Suri coughed, releasing him and bowing a little in apology as she pulled away from him. Her smile only faded slightly, realizing that he'd never gotten his beast back, even after all this time. "Sorry, I got carried away there. I um.. What are you doing here? I didn't know grandma had new guard detail, especially not bears."
"Ah, yes, Lady Kuroyashi invited us to New Year's celebration. She said this year would be much better with more friends," Alexie grinned, nodding to the two men at the gate as he ushered the group of teens through towards the front walkway. "I say I have to agree, no?"
"Yeah," Suri chuckled. "I mean last year, I think she kept it simple for my sake. It was just me and her sitting on the roof to watch the fireworks."
"Yeah, a lot of the pard was not happy about that one," Aiko sighed, giving Suri a weak smile.
"I figured as much. Sparring at Uncle Issie's was a lot more brutal the next few weeks," Suri rolled her eyes, remembering last January where it seemed like every wanna be alpha male had taken her to the ring. That had been the first time she'd gotten into that many fights one after the other. It had also been the first time she'd fought Yosuke. Remembering that Yosuke and Uncle Issie were dead because of Gemini made her mood sour into something less than solemn. "Can't imagine they'll like me much this year either."
"Eh, fuck em," Pazuzu grinned, shrugging his shoulders.
"Ew, no. One, I'm no longer that desperate, and two, the dance card is looking pretty full compared to last year anyway," Suri grinned and gave the werewolf a wink.
"Good to know you have standards, little one," Alexie chuckled as he walked them around to the large sliding doors leading into the main living room. "Make less mistake than me in my younger days and much better choices than me as well. You have a nice dance card as you say."
"You bet your ass I do," Suri grinned, looking over the group that was, for all intents and purposes, her chosen polycule. She then turned back to the door as the former werebear hero reached for the handle. "So who's all…"
"Mom?!"
Suri and Izuku screeched together in unison as their eyes latched directly onto the couple on the center of the main couch. Both of them had their cheeks on fire in shock, and quite a bit of embarrassment. Which meant, they were now feeling what Izuku's mom had felt all those months ago the last time they'd all been here. Now, instead of her waking up to see Suri in nothing but her son's shirt, it was the two teens coming in to find their mothers in the middle of something. That something being Maon straddling Inko's lap, the two women gripping each other tightly as they sloppily made out like two drunken horny teenagers. Which was exactly the case as Maon pulled back from Inko's lips with a lazy grin, blushed cheeks, and a giggle while Inko gave the other woman the same look. The look lasted a full minute before either of them glanced at the kids standing in the doorway, two of which were still in full shock.
It occurred to Suri that she shouldn't have been so surprised by this. Hell it had crossed her mind that there was a very good chance that Maon had fucked Inko, most likely the night that all of them had moved into the dorms on campus. But, of course, she wasn't really going to dwell on the idea that her mom was bedding her boyfriend's mom.
"Oh my Gods, Izuku, my baby," Inko began, her cheeks rosy red as she smiled. If the lack of shock and crying weren't indications enough that she was a little tipsy, her next words were. "Have you met my breast friend, Maon?"
"Breast…?"
"D-Did I say breast?"
"Breast friend!"
"Breastest friends!"
The two women began laughing hysterically as Maon collapsed back onto Inko in a tight hug that had them rolling on the couch. The roll then had them dropping onto the floor with a pair of pained oomphs before more laughter ensued. The throaty chuckle of the two men standing behind said couch drew the attention of the teens still in the doorway, one of which made Suri's blood begin to boil.
"You!"
"Oh hey, pupkit, how's my bab-"
SMACK!
"What the hell, dad? You seriously flirted, not only with Endeavor's wife but his daughter too?!" Suri snarled furiously, having slapped her dad hard enough that the palm of her hand stung and was hot to the touch from the force.
"I what now?" he stared, his brow arched upward in confusion as he idly rubbed his cheek where Suri had slapped him. "I'm sorry, when did he say I did that?"
"Dem, don't tell me you don't remember," Toshinori sighed in exasperation, his eyes flicking back to Inko snickering and rolling around on the ground with Maon.
"His wife? Back before they got married, but apparently he was still pissed at you for that. His daughter though? That was just a couple months ago the last time you were here!"
"Huh," he huffed, tilting his head upwards in thought as he began digging through memories. More specifically, the hundred, if not thousands, of women he'd fucked, flirted, or even talked to over the years. Something must have clicked because he mouthed an oh and then chuckled softly. "Is she a school teacher by chance? I guess the streaks of red in her hair should have given her away."
"Yeah," Suri snapped. "Shoto said her name's Fuyumi or something."
"Oh her!" Maon suddenly shot up, still drunkenly grinning from ear to ear. "Dude, she's, like, totally hot. She's not very good at flirting though, she wasn't taking my hints at all."
"You what?!"
"Oh boy, sounds like those two are definitely in doghouse now," Alexie chuckled as he rounded the room to the back of the couch and nudged Toshinori in the rib playfully.
"You got that right," the blonde man chuckled. "Though, I can't say I know what's got Young Kuroyashi so fired up."
"It umm… It may have to do with the Work Studies," Izuku answered, having now drifted across the room to greet the man. Izuku was pointedly trying very hard to block the view of his mom with Suri's mom on the ground. "Todoroki asked us and Kaachan to go with him to Endeavor's agency. Me and Kaachan were accepted. But when he heard about Suri's application and remembered who she was… he told her no and Todoroki told us his reasoning."
"Demetrius, you idiot," All Might sighed, hanging his head.
"So you don't have an agency in mind?" Demetrius asked, his attention going back and forth between Suri, Izuku, and All Might.
"Don't change the subject, dammit!" Suri snapped. "I thought you had learned to keep it in your pants. You've already got basically unlimited foursomes, you don't need any more partners!"
"Hello pot, meet my friend kettle," Maon snickered, now leaning over the back of the couch. She'd moved her and Inko back onto the seat and was now kneeling on the cushion, thankfully no longer straddling Inko much to Izuku and All Might's appreciation.
"Mom, don't you dare," Suri leveled her gaze at her mother who was grinning ear to ear. Suri's fists clenched and her cheeks heated up like they were on fire when she started counting and pointing from one lover to the next.
"One, two, three, or course we already knew about them but four, five, six, seven, oh and look, here comes eight now,"
"Wait, what did I eat?"
Suri turned, following not only her mom's finger but also the familiar voice of Yumei now standing in the kitchen, holding a box of sparkling cider. The glass bottles made a clinking sound as the snake girl quickly sat the box down and quickly slithered towards her friends with a happy grin.
"Oh my gods, you made it! I'm so happy to see you guys!" she cheered as she first wrapped up Suri and Izuku into her arms, squeezing the two of them in an affectionately tight hug.
To add to the fire burning on both Suri and Izuku's cheeks was the fact that, in her excitement, the snake girl not only hugged both of them but, then plopped a warm, loving kiss on both of their lips first with Suri and then with Izuku. Both of which were a little longer than could be considered strictly platonic. It made denial of Maon's claim next to impossible.
"Wait, so does that mean," Inko commented softly, her eyes focusing on her son, watching Yumei's reaction to him and then quietly numbering the group with them. Realization had her mouth hanging agape, which she covered with her hands and tears began to pool in the corners of her eyes. "Oh, Izuku. I'm so happy for you!"
"Am I missing something?" Yumei asked as she slithered to the group, which included Tooru, Mina, Aiko, Pazuzu, Ryuko, and Mai.
"Ugh!" Suri groaned in exasperation. "How'd you know?"
"Baby, you're about as subtle as a bus," her dad chuckled. Then he pointed to both Izuku and Pazuzu, "I mean, they ain't subtle either. Look at em."
Suri and the girls looked back and forth between the two boys in question and realized something; Izuku and Pazuzu were dressed down. They were both in their nicest clothing, albeit practically matching. Where the werewolf was in nice skinny jeans and a pressed flannel, the greenette was in black jeans that almost looked like slacks and a dark green button up shirt. In fact, the more they thought about it, Izuku probably had stressed about wearing a tie but ultimately decided against it. Like he thought that maybe a tie would be overboard for…
Oh gods.
"You two have met my folks already," Suri sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Why the hell are you trying to impress them now?"
"Well yeah, but," Izuku started, nervously scratching the back of his head.
"We're here though," Pazuzu grumbled, motioning to the living room.
The girls blinked slowly, looked at one another, and then the group looked at Suri in unison. It made ger graon and let out a huff of frustration.
"Fine. Fuck it."
With that Suri grabbed each of her mates and lovers and pulled them to line them up and put them on display for Demitrius, Maon, Toshinori, Inko, Alexie, Nascha, Anastacia, and Grandma Kuroyashi. She then took a deep breath, held it in, and then let it out slowly.
"This is our polycule," Suri finally declared proudly. "Izuku, Tooru, and Mina are my primary partners, and as a quad we've added Aiko, Mai, Yumei, and Ryuko as our girlfriends and Tadashi as our boyfriend."
There was a long pause from everyone while Yumei and Aiko blushed like mad and refused to look at anyone in the face. It was when Grandma finally broke the silence with a loud clap and a giant grin that the building tension broke.
"You truly do not know how to not go overboard, do you my child," the old woman gave a soft chuckle as she came to the group. She reached out, cupping the back of Suri's head and pulled her in so that the two of them touched foreheads. "May this next year bring you all of the happiness that you desire."
"Thank you grandma," Suri replied warmly, letting the old woman's warmth sink in. "Actually, since we're here and now that our whole dynamic is out there. I wanted to make proper introductions since we've got some big hitters in the room. Plus it updates our standings as far as the olde guard is concerned."
"Oh! Then by all means," Grandma Kuroyashi snickered and then dipped her head, sinking back a few steps.
Suri looked back and forth between her group and gave them a nod before turning back around to face the adults in the room. She took in a breath, held it, counted to ten, and then released it slowly, putting on a serious, all business facade.
"Would those representing the Black Pool Clan, Aspen Throne Clan, and Crimson Sun Clan give an audience to the Silver Moon Clan?"
"Aye, little one," Alexie was more than happy to answer first with a big booming grin that was all cheer and delight.
"Aye," Demitrus answered, giving his daughter a proud grin.
"Aye," Grandma Kuroyashi answered finally with her own soft but proud smile.
"As Lupra of the Silver Moon clan, I want the records to officially recognize Tadashi Hamano, better known as Pazuzu, as my Huginn," Suri eyed Pazuzu who made her grin as he all but went stiff and stood at arms. He was being so unlike himself and Suri couldn't help but giggle at how serious he was trying to be in front of her parents and grandma. She then turned to the wereleopard girl behind her and grinned wide, making her blush "Aiko Nishijima will be on the record as my Muninn. Next," Suri turned her gaze towards Mai. "Mai Fukodashi will be my Hati, our pack's primary enforcer. With her I'd also like to recognize Kaneki Hanegawa as Skoll, our secondary enforcer."
The leaders nodded in agreement and were about to say something when Demitrius held up a hand when he watched Suri's face sour in reflection as she looked at the rest of her polycule.
"Is there something else you'd like to add, sweetheart?"
"Honestly," Suri's brow furrowed further and then she turned back to face her dad, her eyes then rolled to beast as Atiena stepped forward, letting their power spark into the room. "Yes, I would like to add something myself."
Atiena turned and took the single step it took to make it to Ryuko where she gave her coven's head witch a nod. Ryuko, in return, reached into her messenger bag and pulled out a small leather bag and handed it to the beast woman with a smile. Atiena then opened the leather bag and began pulling out necklaces, all of which were silver crescent moon pendants, and began placing them around all of her mates and lover's necks. Except for one. For Yumei, she pulled out a pair of silver clips with crescent moons on them and attached them to her scaled hood. The cobra hood made it impossible for the snake girl to wear necklaces, so the beast woman and witch had adapted. It wasn't a necklace but the pendant was a perfect match to the others.
"We know most, if not all of the old guard will not accept this, but truthfully, we don't care," Atiena smirked as she placed the last necklace around Izuku's neck and then turned around to face the clan representatives and All Might. "As Lupra of the Silver Moon Clan, I want to have on record that I declare Izuku Midoriya as our clan's Fenrir, and Tooru Hagakure and Mina Ashido as our Freyjas."
That made Demitrius and Maon's eyes go wide and left Izuku, Mina, and Tooru shocked, with tears beginning to pool in the corner of Tooru's eyes. Meanwhile, Pazuzu, Aiko, and Mai began slowly blinking as the words and the weight of them clicked into place.
"Baby, you do realize what those titles mean right?" Demitrius began calmly, making sure his daughter and her beast were completely sure. "Those are the titles you invoke to challenge for Ulfric and Lupa during our Lupanars."
"And since I'm not allowed to claim an Ulfric or Lupa title for our clan, then that's what I will give them," Atiena smirked. "Both titles are vacant and will remain so. And in this case, I intend on those titles to act with equal power as a vampire servant."
"Holy fuck," Pazuzu began snickering, amused by the blatant disregard to clans that would not accept Suri's or Yukari Kurogami's clans.
"My clan respects these three and their fighting capability just as much as I do. They may be human, but they went head to head with vamps and werelions and we came out on top so I see no reason to deny them a place."
"Su- Atiena, what are you saying?" Izuku questioned, his breath hitching because he was beginning to realize what Suri and Atiena completely intended with this move.
"A vampire's head servant acts in their master's stead during the day. In this case, if I were recovering, incapacitated, or unable to act as Lupra of our clan, we entrust you three with leadership," Atiena grinned. "This clan is just as much yours as it is mine and I don't give a fuck if the old ones won't accept you. The three of you are more than powerful and capable enough to show them that they're wrong. If they won't let me make you my Ulfric, and the two of you my Lupas, then I will make sure no one else can."
"That is ballsy move, little one," Alexie chuckled and then looked from one of his wives to the other who gave him an approving nod and smile. "I accept your challenge of tradition."
"And I'm not done," Atiena snickered before glancing up at Yumei, the snake girl still trying to make sense of everything happening. "Finally, I am creating the title of Jormungandr specifically for Yumei Nagamaki. The role's duties will include being a liaison for agency work and someone who will help keep the pack hierarchy in line, able to check and balance all of us, and keep us together. She will be our World Serpent."
Yumei choked, her eyes filling with tears as Atiena smiled lovingly up at her and then turned to face the room once again. Atiena and Suri looked out over the reactions and grinned wide as she saw the mix of astonishment and approval among everyone.
"I take it we're all in favor then?" Atiena asked, bold enough to call for the motion herself like she was one of the old guard.
"Aye," she heard being in a group of chuckled responses, including one from All Might and Inko.
"Good," Suri said proudly, reinserting herself to the forefront of her mind. With another chuckling grin she looked back at the shocked and overwhelmed emotions on the faces of her polycule, giving them warm and caring eyes. "All right, now let's head to the roof. I don't wanna miss the fireworks, what about you guys?"
"Hell yeah, let's go," Pazuzu cheered, helping push the group forward towards Grandma Kuroyashi as she began to lead everyone towards the access to the roof. He also had half a mind to make sure to grab the box of cider that the snake girl had brought in.
Of course he wasn't going to miss a midnight toast.
Suri, Mina, Tooru, and Izuku were helping push everyone to the roof access when Demitrius, All Might, Inko, and Alexie stopped them. Their gazes however were strictly for Suri and Izuku who encouraged the last of their lovers to continue on without them up to the roof, promising they'd be right behind them in a minute or two. Hopefully that's all these conversations would need.
"I guess I'll be the one to start," All Might spoke up and gave a soft chuckle. "I'm not sure that tonight's reveal was exactly what you planned, right Young Midoriya?"
"No. Not exactly," Izuku said with a small smile. "I'm still… It's kinda taking a bit to sink in."
"Yeah," Suri sighed and cupped his shoulder, squeezing lightly. "I was put on the spot and then just," her word hung on the air as she brought her free hand up and motioned away from her mouth, like something was spilling out. Which it all had.
"Like I've said before," Demetrius chuckled. "You never do anything half assed."
"Still, it was a lot to spring on everyone," Suri grumbled. Her eyes then rolled up towards Inko and she gave a soft pout, "we were going to pull you aside later. Izuku was gonna be doing the introductions and all that so you could get to know everyone, ya know?"
"Oh, it's fine dear," Inko chuckled softly, brushing the air away. "I would worry but you, Mina, and Tooru have been such a gift in my boy's life. I don't know how you can be with this many people but… if all of you make Izuku happy then… How can I say no?"
"Which means, after they'd been introduced to your mother, you'd be coming to me right after. Is that correct?" All Might asked with an air of suspicion.
"Yes," Izuku nodded with confidence. "Our relationship works because we're open and we don't keep secrets from one another. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with all of them and if that's the case then I need to let go of the one secret I have left from them."
"It's also good that you're here Momma Midoriya cause we have something we've been wanting to share with you for a while now. We just needed to make sure it wasn't a fluke or anything," Suri nodded at Izuku and then met his mothers eyes with a soft seriousness in them.
"Should I be excused from conversation at hand then?" Alexie piped up, quirking an eyebrow at Suri and Izuku.
"No," Suri looked to Izuku for confirmation to which he gave a soft nod. "I think it might be interesting for you to hear as well. And I'm pretty sure you already know Uncle Toshi and Izuku's big secret anyway."
"Dah. I do," he grinned with conformation.
"Good," Suri simply replied and then looked back at Izuku who had a serious and contemplative look in his eyes.
"Then what do you say, All Might? Can I tell them about All For One?" Izuku asked as his eyes locked onto his mentors and never gave the man an inch of hesitation.
All Might froze up, choking up slightly as he watched his protege shed every ounce of the shy, timid kid he'd met some two years ago. His frozen stature lasted until he felt something and looked down to see Inko's hand laced with his, squeezing gently.
"If you feel that you trust them, then I can't deny you that right anymore. You really have grown, kid, I keep forgetting that I'm looking at my successor and not just that boy who inherited my Quirk," he replied softly, giving a light chuckle.
"Okay then," Izuku nodded, a smile appearing for a split second as he looked up at the tall, blonde man and then rolled his head down to look into his mother's eyes. "Has Toshinori told you the nature of All For One?"
"Y-Yes," Inko answered nervously. "It gets passed from one user to another and, with each passing, the power grows stronger and stronger. It's why there was so much power that you were hurting yourself at the beginning when you first got it. I still have my issues with that, by the way, dear," Inko furrowed her brow and looked up at Toshinori. It all but confirmed any guesses as to how far her and Toshi's relationship had come.
"I never said it was my best idea or my brightest moment," he sighed, scratching the back of his head nervously and having the sense to look away with remorse.
"I'm the ninth holder after All Might so I could have expected the amount of power I was given. It's why I've slowly increased my output of it once I figured out how to control it and make it my own," Izuku confirmed and then folded his arms across his chest and looked down in concentration. "But what neither of us expected as the power grew was what began happening about a month and a half ago. When I began seeing them."
"Seeing who?" Inko asked curiously.
"The previous users. I can see and communicate with their visages in my mind and I've slowly worked out why they're there and their purpose," Izuku continued, this news making the wereanimals - and Inko's case former - go wide eyed as they realized a similar implication. "I started out with the raw power of the Quirk which is what everyone's seen up until now. Now, I'm beginning to have access to the Quirks of the previous users of One For All. The raw super strength I get from All Might, the eigth user, but now," Izuku began to levitate then.
His body calmly floated about a foot off the ground and to keep him anchored so he only hovered that much came a large, black tendril of dark energy from each of his hands that gripped at the floor below him. Seeing the action made everyone's eyes go even wider as they watched him calmly and confidently activate multiple Quirks at once.
"I can also use the Quirks of the fourth, fifth, and seventh users. Right now, during our meditation sessions with the pack, I'm currently working with the sixth user, En, on how to use his Quirk. He's a pretty nice guy with a cool Quirk so hopefully I'll be able to figure out the basics soon. But that's not that part that we've been worried about."
"Izuku, you're starting to scare me," Inko said softly.
"Don't be scared, mom. Actually, I've had a lot of help, and I owe it to you to know," Izuku replied softly. He then closed his eyes, took in a deep breath and held it for a few seconds before letting it out slowly. When his eyes opened up again, Inko began to sob as she looked up and saw his eyes were now black pools surrounding his bright emerald pupils. "You never lost me, Inky."
"I-Izumi?" Inko screeched, choking up as she took a staggering step forward.
"Hey, long time no see," Izumi replied, masking Izuku's voice in a younger version of Inko's own voice. One that had been her confident, courageous, and even brash side of her personality.
"H-How?" Inko pleaded as Izuku, in Izumi's control, wrapped the woman up tight and hugged her like she hadn't hugged anyone in decades. In truth, she hadn't.
"That is quite remarkable," Alexie added as he sat back and watched with awe.
"How the fuck? Did you know he- they could do that?" Demetrius asked as he watched everything unfold and gave his daughter a questioning glance.
"Truthfully, I didn't know they could do the switch like we do," Suri snorted as she watched her boyfriend with amazement, unsure how she felt about his mom's beast currently controlling him.
"It's something new," Izumi said, pulling back from the hug and closing their eyes. When they reopened Izuku was back in control at the forefront, giving his mom a warm smile. "She's been helping me a lot with constructing the vestige world and getting to know the previous users. It's been… interesting to say the least."
"For the past couple months, he's been coming out to the throne with me and the others during our meditation sessions that we do once a week," Suri began explaining. "After our fight with De'Jon and then him suddenly seeing the vestiges, we decided we should build up mental and metaphysical defenses. It's helped us bond with our beasts on a deeper level, work some shit out, and made us stronger. Hell the only reason Kaneki and Kiba have caught on so quickly is because Izuku's been there to help them along."
"So she's…"
"She's okay, mom," Izuku nodded, confirming what she was wanting to ask about. "My personal theory is that because One For All has been growing, and I made a jump in power, it may have triggered something in my DNA. I think Izumi may have stayed with you, buried super deep in your DNA, which may have possibly blocked me from contracting lycanthropy at birth. Which could possibly be the same reason I was born without you or dad's Quirks too. It's still just a theory though, and maybe I was just always intended to be Quirkless no matter the outcome. Anyway," Izuku waved his hands in the air, catching himself before he went any deeper into a muttering storm. "I think that by inheriting One For All, it affected my DNA and with the power boost not only reignited the souls held within One For All but reignited the trace of lycanthropy I've had lying dormant inside me."
"So like past users, it brought past beast as well," Alexie nodded, cupping his chin deep in thought as he mulled over what Izuku was saying.
"That would make sense," All Might added before looking down to Inko.
Inko was sobbing again, but smiling as happy as she'd ever been as she watched Izuku lean into Suri, taking her hand and holding it tight in his. That was all she needed; to know he was loved, cherished, and, most of all, safe.
"Anyway," Suri sighed, looking over her shoulder to see that it was nearly midnight and if they didn't get a move on, they'd miss the fireworks. "Was there something you needed from me, dad?"
"Well shit, you're gonna make us follow that," Demetrius chuckled and shook his head. He and Alexie began leading the group towards the roof access, traversing the living room and a hallway before making it up the stairs and out onto the roof where everyone else was already waiting for them. "Actually, after hearing about what happened with Enji…"
"I have yet to ask our Vipress, but," Alexie shrugged with a carefree grin as he came to swing his arms over both of his wives' shoulders as he pulled them into his sides. Hearing her name, the snake girl's attention turned back to her former boss with a curious gaze. "How would you like to work with your old man? Give the Outsiders one last go, yeah?"
Suri's jaw dropped and she stared up at both big men, her mouth agape as excitement filled her eyes. She may have gotten turned down by Todoroki's dad, but maybe, just maybe she could learn just as much or more working with her own. She was suddenly swallowed up in Yumei's embrace as she excitedly squoze her best friend - or rather, girlfriend - and nodded excitedly, finding it hard to find words at that moment.
Luckily, Suri had all the words the two of them needed.
"Yes! Abso-fucking-lutely yes!"
And with that, fireworks began to light up the sky, peppering the darkness with bright lights, and explosions of color streaking across the night sky. It was a fitting end to a wild year and a welcome start to a year that Suri expected to be wonderfully amazing, especially in the arms of her happy little polycule that she loved to no end.
