Chapter 12: Moonlander (1/4)
Raziel Baratheon:
"How is she?" The Crown Prince of Westeros asked the Redfort's Maester.
"The cut on her head wasn't deep, but she did damaged her ankle in the fall, so she will have to stay in bed for at least a few days."
After rescuing Bronze Yohn and getting rid of the Moon Brothers, Raziel Baratheon and Sandor Clegane made their way back to the Redfort. With Raziel immediately making his way to find Mya. Fortunately, his orders were followed and the Maester tended to her wounds.
"Oh, that's good, I was worried that her injuries were worse than they appeared." Raziel pointed out as he walked past the Maester to check on Mya. Who was sleeping peacefully on top of a bed. "How long will she be unconscious?" Raziel asked in concern.
"She might wake up at any moment now." The Maester told the Prince. "Now, please excuse me, my Prince. " The Maester bowed before him before he made his way to the door. Probably to attend one of the injured that they brought back.
Once he was alone with her, Raziel slowly made his way to the bed, got on top of it and gently touched her head, caressing her face with his soft hands. Before he approached his face and pressed his lips into Mya's lips, giving her a very tender kiss.
As the black haired boy kissed the black haired girl. He felt something strange happening, opening his blue eyes, he noticed that Mya has opened her own blue eyes.
"You're awake." Raziel spoke after separating from the kiss and smiling.
"W-what?!" Mya Stone was visibly confused. Looking around in clear disbelief of where she was. "Wait?" The girl clearly didn't understood. "I- I was in a cave and I-"
"You fell into a hole and hit your head in the fall." He explained while pointing at the bandage on her head. "You also hurt your ankle, so you will have to take it easy." The Prince informed as he touched her damaged ankle.
"Sssss..." Mya made a sound of pain in response to his touch. "But... How did I got back to the castle?" That was her biggest confusion at the moment.
"Oh, when you didn't came back with the rest of the group, I mounted on Muddy and made my way to the cave with my sworn-shield, killed several savages and brought you back here." It was actually Yohn Royce 's squire that brought her back, but I would have done it myself if I didn't decided to rescue Bronze Yohn.
...
...
...
For the next minute, Mya just stared at Raziel with a face that pretty much indicated that she did not believe what he just heard. Until she actually noticed the big bruise that was on his face.
"ARE YOU ACTUALLY BEING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!?" Mya asked in deep disbelief as she touched the bruise on his face.
"Yes." He bluntly replied to her .
"WHY!?" She asked him in deep confusion.
"Because I love you." Raziel confessed.
"Huh?!" Mya was startled by what she just heard. "What did you say?" She asked to see if she heard correctly.
"I love you, Mya Stone." Raziel repeated. "And I know that you love me too." He spoke with confidence.
"I..." Mya blushed, with her face turning really red. "I... Yes... I do love you too bu-" After confirming what he already knew, Raziel grabbed Mya's cheeks and kissed her on the lips one more time. With Mya simply responding by kissing him back. However, their kiss didn't remain a chaste kiss as Raziel actually started to suck on Mya's tongue just like his mother does it with him. Mya didn't seem to mind, only blushing a bit more as a result. After sucking her tongue for a bit, Raziel proceed to place his tongue inside her mouth, entangling with hers.
After a whole minutes, the two separated, gasping for air. "But nothing." That was the first thing that Raziel said after separating from the kiss. "Let's just love each other for now on."
"Ummm..." Mya seemed the a bit reluctant. "Okay..." But she eventually accepted.
Raziel smiled and was about to kiss her again. But before he could do it, someone barged into the room.
"You actually went to the cave that was filled with savages!?" It was Robyn, in clear shock of what Raziel did.
"Yes." Raziel bluntly responded to him. While giving him an obviously annoyed stare as he was interrupting him and Mya.
"No way!" Robyn was clearly in disbelief. "They are saying that you single handedly took down the Mountain Clan that killed all of the Knights and took my grandfather hostage!" Mya looked at Raziel in clear shock for what she just heard.
"Actually, no... I only killed some of them with my bow, but I did killed their leader with my dagger." Raziel explained as he removed his shoes and laid on the bed besides Mya.
"Y-you what?!" Mya asked in deep shock.
"Yes, their leader is the one that hit me." Raziel explained as he pointed at his bruise.
"My grandfather said that your Eagle clawed his eyes." Robyn pointed out.
"Artys is a wonderful pet isn't he?" Raziel said as he hugged Mya and placed his head on her shoulder. "Still, I'm just glad the mess was dealt with." With the Moon Brothers slaughtered and the second entrance to the Vale located, their business there was finished.
"Everyone is talking about how you went to the cave to rescue my grandfather from the savages, and how you actually killed them all." Robyn pointed out to him. Raziel was about to tell him that he didn't went there because of his grandfather, but he was interrupted before he could say it. "And they're all speaking about how you actually found the remains of the Winged Knight!" He seemed to be particularly interested in that.
"Really?" Mya asked him in deep surprise, since the Winged Knight was the only story that she knew from the Age of Heroes.
"First of all, I did not went to the cave to rescue your grandfather, I went to the cave to rescue her." The Prince corrected Robyn. "Second of all, I don't know if it's really the Winged Knight, but his armor seemed to be the same depicted in the paintings that we saw at the Eyrie." Though, he was certain that the piece of cloth was definitely what the giant bird that he flew on top of it was supposed to be. Despite being disappointed since he always assumed that it was a Griffon, he found the strange device interesting.
"I saw it too, it's definitely the same armor." Robyn pointed out.
"Or a good imitation." Raziel spoke, because he doubts that any armor would survive centuries without getting rusty.
"They actually took to the Smith and he claimed that the metal on it wasn't common." Robyn revealed to him.
"Really?" Raziel asked before he yawned. "Could be sometype of special metal like Valyrian steel?"
"They don't know yet, but they say that it's a possibility." Robyn explained.
"Oh, I see." Raziel then placed his head on the pillow that Mya using and closed his eyes. "I'm gonna sleep now, let us continue our conversation later." The truth was, he was exhausted.
"Oh, I see, I need to go check on my uncle anyway." Robyn took the hint. "We can speak more later." Then he turned around, but then he stopped and turned around again. "Why did you went to the cave to rescue her?!" He asked in deep confusion.
"Because I love her." Raziel admitted with no shame whatsoever.
"But... She's a bastard!" Robyn pointed out the obvious in clear shock.
"And?" Raziel asked.
"And, you can't marry a bastard, you are the Crown Prince of Westeros." Robyn pointed out.
"M-marriage?!" Mya was clearly shocked.
"Says who?" Raziel asked him. "If I want to marry Mya then I am going to marry Mya." He didn't even bothered to look at him. "Now, go away, I want to sleep." The black haired boy waved his hand, signalling him to leave.
"But-" Robyn tried to speak again.
"Get out!" Raziel yelled.
Robyn just frowned and made a very annoyed face. Before he turned around and left the room, shutting the door on his way out.
Now the sleepy Prince and the injured Mule Tender were alone inside of the room.
"Ummm..." Mya, who was still blushing, decided to say something. "Would you really marry me despite the fact that I'm bastard?" She asked him.
"Yes." It took him less than a second to answer. He still had his eyes closed and was about to fall asleep. Until he felt someone pushing him to make him lay on his back. Opening his eyes, he realized that Mya had gotten on top of him and pinned his arms once again.
"You can't tell me that, and then go to sleep." Mya immediately spoke in deep annoyance as she realized that Raziel was about to fall asleep.
"I'm tired." Raziel confessed.
"I don't care." Mya spoke in response before she started to lick the bruise on his face.
Raziel giggled in response. "Don't do that." Because it tickled. But Mya ignored him and kept licking his face and Raziel kept giggling.
"Thank you..." Mya eventually stopped and started to plant kisses in his face. "For saving me."
Raziel just smiled in response. "If you are ever in danger again, I will go save you just as quickly. " That was a promise.
Mya smiled after hearing that, before she grabbed his hands and placed his index finger inside her mouth. Raziel smiled in response before grabbing her hand and doing the same thing by putting her index finger into his mouth. Sucking on each other's fingers to seal the promise that Raziel just made.
Without saying a word, they removed their fingers from each others mouth. And Mya immediately closed in and kissed him on the lips.
Raziel wasn't able to fall asleep after that.
Jon Arryn:
[A few days later.]
"My Lord," The Knight greeted the Hand of the King. "What are your orders."
The Warden of the East, had spent every single instant since his arrival at Gulltown, pursuing any possible clue about the disappearance of Yohn Royce's sons and the illicit activities that seemed to be occuring at the port.
That's all of them. After days of hard work, they were able to identify all of the ships that have been coming in and out of port without paying the required amount for permission to sell their shipment. Meaning that they were smuggling and selling unlawfully at the port. Something that was against the King's law and if Lord Grafton was involved, he would have to face severe consequences.
"My Lord, how would you like to proceed?" The loyal Knight that has been aiding Jon, asked.
That was a question that Jon had been pondering for an hour. Confronting Lord Grafton seems like the logical course of action, but there's also the danger that it could put Yohn's sons if they are indeed captives. That was the only reason why Jon hasn't confronted him yet. I need to be wise about this matter, it could lead to very unnecessary problems if I approach this the wrong way.
Jon took a sip of his Myrish wine as he thought about it. This is a mess, but it has to be done. The old man thought in frustration. Maybe there is a more subtle way to do this, but I can't really come up with anything.
"My Lord?" The Knight continued to wait for an answer.
"Ideally, I would rather proceed this matter with a more subtle approach... But I can't think of anything that doesn't involve a direct confrontation." Jon confessed to the Knight.
"May I suggest something, my Lord?" The Knight asked.
"Go ahead." He was in need of suggestions anyway.
"If you could find a way to distract Lord Grafton, I could search the castle for Bronze Yohn's sons or at least a clue about their whereabouts." The Knight offered to the the Lord of the Vale.
"I'm afraid that won't really be a viable option." Jon immediately shut down the idea. "I highly doubt that Lord Grafton would do something as foolish as hiding Yohn's sons inside of his keep after he already made his suspicion of him clear. " Gerold Grafton doesn't really appear to be a bright individual, but Jon knew better to not underestimate someone's intelligence. "Catching him in the act would be preferable, but that might prove to be a challenging task since he has been zealously careful so far." In truth, Jon wouldn't be surprised if Lord Grafton already knew that he was being investigated.
Jon then rechecked the list of ships that have passed by Gulltown. One of these ships is marked to return here, maybe that is my chance of catching Lord Grafton in the act. That was a idea, but there were problems. But I have no idea when, nor do I know how to make Lord Grafton check it personally. A headache was starting to invade Jon's head.
I just hope that a message from Yohn regarding the situation at the Redfort arrives soon. The lack of information was bothering Jon, preferably, he would like to receive some good news. The Hand of the King could really use the relief of having one less issue to worry about.
Before the Knight could say anything else, someone knocked on the door. "Come on in." Jon said.
One of his cousin's servants came into the room. "Forgive me, Lord Arryn." The woman bowed before him. "But Lord Baelish is requesting an audience with you."
Jon didn't know what to think of the individual, but he has been useful in his investigation, which is why Jon grants him the benefit of the doubt. But he can't help but feel like there's something off about him, like you can't really tell what is he really up to. "Send him in please."
Both the servant and the Knight bowed before the Warden of the East and left the room to give him some privacy for his conversation, with Jon finishing his cup of wine as he awaited for Lord Baelish.
"Lord of the Vale." Petyr Baelish entered the room soon after. He was wearing fine looking clothes in the color dark blue.
"Lord Baelish." Jon greeted the man. "Forgive me for my bluntness, but is this matter that you wish to discuss with me important?" Because he had a lot in his head at the moment and he really didn't want to add anything that would worsen the headache that he was having.
"I can tell that you have a lot in your mind right now, Lord Arryn." He spoke politely as he approached the table that Jon was sitting behind. "So I will be brief." Jon leaned back on his chair in order to hear what he had to say. "I managed to uncover where the sons of Yohn Royce are being kept as prisoners."
Jon widened his blue eyes in response to what he just heard. "How?" But he maintained his composure and decided to ask further.
"The honor of some are for sale, and that is all I can say." The man gave an considerably ambiguous answer that was good enough for Jon.
He bribed someone that serves Lord Grafton and he gave him the information. Jon was able to understand quite easily. It repulses me how can some sell their honor so easily, but this is just how things work. That thought was accompanied by a sigh. "Where are they?" As soon as they are safe and sound, I shall confront Lord Grafton myself. Preferably with Lord Royce at his side.
"That is the part when things get a little complicated, my Lord." Petyr replied to him in a strange tone of voice.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Jon was confused.
"They are not in Gulltown." Petyr revealed to him. "They were taken far away from here a day before your arrival."
Jon touched his head in deep frustration, with the headache getting worse as a result. I'm not surprised, but this complicates things. The old man thought as he tried to contain his headache. "I assume that the location where they were taken isn't what you are about to tell me next. " He could tell just by looking at his face.
"I'm afraid not, Lord Arryn." He didn't seem to be very disappointed. "But I can give you information about the ones that took them to that location."
Despite being less than ideal, it was better than nothing. "Go on."
"By what I was able to find out, Lord Grafton paid four Hedge Knights to escort them to the location." Petyr explained to him. "Apparently, he paid a good amount of gold to a man to transport them on on his cart because no one would suspect it."
"Mmm..." The Hedge Knights are either guarding them or were there to get rid of them as soon as they arrived. Whatever it is, the location needs to be found. "This man that transported them, do you know anything about him?" Jon asked.
"Apparently, it was a shepherd that came to Gulltown to sell sheepskin." Baelish explained. But that information didn't help much because lots of farmers did that. "But something stood out about this shepherd."
"Yes?" Jon was curious.
"He... claimed that Prince Raziel Baratheon sliced his son's throat with a dagger." Petyr revealed to him.
...
...
...
This has to be some type of jest!? Jon thought in complete disbelief as the horrendous image of Raziel slicing that boy's throat with his Valyrian Steel dagger reemerged in his mind after days of not thinking about that horrible event. The man lived in a house, not far away from the Gates of the Moon. Retuning there would take too long, so I will have to send a letter to Yohn, getting the location of his sons captivity should be an easy task for him. However... Besides me, only the Knights that are with me right now... And Raziel know where the shepherd's home is specifically located.
Jon could only sigh, because the idea of asking Raziel to take Yohn to the home of the man who's son he murdered , sounded wrong in every possible way. But in this case, he had no choice, if Yohn's sons were still alive, they couldn't waste time. "Thank you for your help, Lord Baelish." I must send a raven to the R- Before Jon could finish his thought, someone knocked on the door. "Come in."
The one that knocked was the same servant that informed him of Lord Baelish's presence. "Forgive me for interrupting, Lord Arryn." The young woman spoke. "But a letter has arrived, and you asked to be informed immediately if any letter addressed to you arrived."
"Indeed, thank you very much." Jon was hoping that the letter was what he thought it was. "Lord Baelish, I thank you for your support but there are some matters that I need to resolve."
"Of course," Lord Baelish bowed politely towards Lord Arryn. "I will inform you if I managed to uncover anything else." That was the last thing that he said, before he turned his back and left the room.
Leaving Jon and the servant alone, but all that the young girl did, was hand him the letter before bowing and leaving the room soon after.
Now alone, Jon decided to not waste time. So he opened the letter to see what was written.
Dear Lord Arryn.
You will be pleased to know that the matter has been solved. The Mountain Clan has been dealt with and the second entrance is already in the process of being sealed off completely.
Unfortunately, there were problems. Several of both my men and the Lord Redfort's men were slaughtered by those savages. I myself, barely escaped with my life and my poor son has lost his arm. Something that I take full responsibility as I underestimated the savages and that costs us greatly.
Despite being ashamed of admitting this. The only reason why I escaped with my life was because Prince Raziel Baratheon and Sandor Clegane came into the cave and actually dealt with the remaining savages. With their leader being personally executed by the Prince himself.
When I questioned him why. He told me that he simply went there to rescue a girl called Mya Stone, a girl that tended the Mules that we were using to transport supplies. According to him, it was because he loved her.
I must admit, Prince Raziel terrifies me. At one moment he acts like a cheerful and kind little boy with a tendency for gluttony that is happy to help others. At another he speaks like a grown man, demonstrate a strange enthusiasm towards killing and easily dispatched a group of savages that were twice his size and age. I simply don't know what to expect of him.
I apologize for putting the Prince, but I highly doubt there was anything I could do to prevent it.
Despite being quite apologetic in this letters. I must know, has the situation with my sons disappearance changed?
Please, I need to know.
Your faithful servant,
The Lord of Runestone,
Yohn Royce
...
...
...
WHAT?! Jon had to reread that letter several times to see if his old eyes were not playing a trick on him. Raziel went into the cave and killed the remaining mountain clansmen?! That was the part of the letter that stood out the most, obviously. Touching his head in deep frustration as his headache got nearly unbearable. He went there to rescue Mya... Because he loved her... Did he figured out that she is his sister? Jon asked himself in deep confusion, because very few people actually know and there was no way that someone at the Redfort did.
The Hand of the King sighed. At least this mess is solved. That was some good news that he was in need of it. Now, all that is left is the mess with Lord Grafton.
Not wasting anymore time, Jon grabbed a piece of paper and some ink.
Raziel Baratheon:
"How many plates have you eaten?" He asked.
Raziel Baratheon and Mychel Redfort were sitting in front of each other at the dinning hall. They just came out of a training session with the master-at-arms, which made the Prince very hungry.
This is the fourth plate." So far, Raziel eat four plates of roasted ribs with watered down wine. "Why?"
"I'm just trying to understand how can you eat so much." Mychel replied. "I only eat a single plate and I'm already full."
"Probably because you didn't train hard enough." Raziel was quick to point out. It was truth, Mychel was acting lazy during training.
"Forgive me, I simply didn't slept well last night." He admitted.
"I didn't sleep at all, so that hardly qualified as an excuse." In truth, Raziel spent the previous night reading a book for Mya since she was bored due to the fact that she had to stay in bed. "Can I get another one, please?" Raziel asked one of the servants, surprising Mychel.
"Right away, Prince Raziel." The Servant replied with a bow.
"Wow." It was Mychel's reaction.
"How many plates had he had so far?" Robyn, who has just approached them, asked.
"About to have my fifth plate." Raziel answered. "How is your uncle doing?" He has been avoiding him since the amputation happened. Not for fear or shame, it was just avoid more whining from him.
"His arm is healing nicely." Robyn sat besides Mychel. "But he has been complaining a lot about being a cripple now." And it turned out to be the right decision on Raziel's part.
"I should have just let him due then." Raziel commented as he drank from his cup.
"My grandfather said the same thing, he is really getting annoyed by my uncle's constant complaining." Robyn revealed to them.
"I wouldn't want to be a cripple either, but I really would choose that over dying." Mychel gave his opinion.
"Obviously." Raziel replied as he scratched the bruise in his face. Then the servant returned with his plate of roasted ribs. "Thank you." He told the servant with a smile.
The Servant just bowed and left the boys alone.
"Did the Maester made any new discovery about the supposed remains of the Winged Knight?" Mychel decided to ask the Raziel and Robyn.
Raziel took a bite of the roasted ribs before replying. "The remains are certainly ancient, though it is impossible to determine whether it's from the Age of Heroes." The Prince actually was present when the Redfort's Maester analyzed the remains and he was able to determine that they were at least more than a centuries old. "The Maester actually wanted to send a letter to Jon to see if the remains could be sent to the Citadel for further research."
"And?" Mychel asked.
"I told him to just sent it to the Citadel." Raziel replied as he had a drink.
"I still think that you should have sent a letter to my great-uncle first, I don't think he even knows about the discovery." Robyn pointed out.
"We don't even know if it is indeed the remains of the Winged Knight, so if they can research it further at the Citadel, then the decision is pretty obvious to me." Raziel explained the reasoning behind his decision.
"What about the armor?" Mychel continued with his questioning.
That was a different story. "The armor is indeed made of an unknown metal, but it isn't Valyrian Steel." Raziel explained. "But according to the Smith, the metal is inferior to even chainmail." The Redfort's Smith actually performed some tests in it, and the armor hardly offered any actual protection. "But there was something about the armor that made it unique."
"What?" Mychel was now very curious.
"Well, you see-" Raziel about to explain what was so special about the armor that he found, but before he could do it.
The servant reentered the room and spoke. "Forgive me for interrupting," She spoke politely while bowing before the three. "But, Lord Royce and Lord Redfort request your presence, Prince Raziel."
"For what exactly?" Raziel asked as he continued to eat his roasted ribs.
"I'm not certain my Prince." The servant replied.
"Maybe he got a letter from my Great-uncle." Robyn suggested.
"I doubt it." Since he actually sent a letter to Gulltown not long ago and there's no way that a reply could have arrived so quickly. "But..." He took a final bite from his roasted ribs and gulped down his cup watered down wine. "I better see what he wants." After that, I am going to Mya's room.
After leaving Robyn and Mychel behind, Raziel made his way to the room where Lord Redfort and Bronze Yohn were currently at. It was the same room that they use to discuss the situation with the cave. He was just hoping that the mess was dealt with.
After reaching the door with Sandor quietly walking behind him. Raziel knocked on the door and waited for an answer.
"Come." He heard Lord Redfort's voice.
So Raziel opened the door and passed through it, leaving Sandor outside. "Lord Royce, Lord Redfort." He greeted the two Lords respectfully.
The room was simplistic, having candle holders, a wooden table, some chairs and there's was a painting of Lord Redfort's family hanging on the wall.
"Prince Raziel." Both bowed before him.
"You wished to speak to me?" He asked as he adjusted the ring that Myrcella gifted him.
"Yes, it's actually a sensible matter." Lord Redfort spoke.
"Go on." The Prince was curious now.
"The cave that the Moon Brothers used to enter the Vale will be sealed completely by tomorrow in the evening." Bronze Yohn spoke to the Prince. Raziel noticed that his movement was labored, so he clearly hasn't recovered completely.
"But I assume that there's a problem?" Raziel could tell by their faces.
"Yes, you see..." Lord Redfort decided to explain. "More members of the Moon Brothers went to the cave, probably some that weren't among the ones that you and Lord Royce killed."
"Are you telling me that they slaughtered all of your man?" Raziel gave a very apprehensive look to the two older man. "Again?"
"No!" Lord Redfort was quick to deny. "Of course not!"
"Last time was a failure that I would be dammed to commit again." Bronze Yohn was clearly still ashamed over losing his and Lord Redfort's man to a bunch of savages. "The Moon Brothers were dealt with quite easily."
"Then... what exactly is the problem?" Raziel asked in confusion.
"We actually managed to capture an most of them, but neither I or Lord Redfort know what to do with them." Bronze Yohn explained to the Prince. "Sending a letter to Lord Arryn would take too long and I really don't want to bother him with something like this when he has more important matters t-" The Lord of Runestone was explaining, but Raziel understood what he wanted and interrupted him.
"Behead all of them, put their heads on spikes right in front of the entrance, then seal the cave. " Raziel bluntly told them what to do before turning around and moving towards the door.
The two man were visibly shocked by what he just said. "M-my Prince, I don't-" Lord Royce clearly wanted to argue against it, but Raziel spoke first.
"If the roles were reversed and your man were the ones at their mercy, do genuinely believe they would have a better fate?" The fact that it was basically what would have happened to you if I didn't rescue you from them should be enough for an answer.
"As much as I hate to admit, the Prince is correct." Lord Redfort got over his shock and saw the sense in his order. "These savages are nothing but trouble, it's better that we set an example for them."
I highly doubt it will work though. Raziel thought, because he could tell that violence was a common thing on their clan. "Is there anything else?" The Prince asked the two Lords. Hurry up, I wanna put my tongue in Mya's mouth again.
"Ummm .. no, actually..." Lord Royce finally got over his shock as well and spoke.
"Alright then." With that, Raziel Baratheon left the room.
This is starting to turn into a very annoying routine but, I am so sorry for the delay. As I stated in my profile, I got a new job that is very time consuming, so my time for rewriting got drastically reduced.
Q and A:
Amazing story so far like how you write the character I just can't wait for the next fostering cause I personally don't like the vale. Please update this story if awesome and Id like to see more of it
I'm glad you enjoyed.
It's pretty darn hard to light a tree on fire without it being hot out, the wood dry and in small pieces, and even then that takes some time. A hand torch wouldn't do much more than light up some dead grass.
It's a pretty good story though and I'm looking forward to future chapters.
Thanks for the heads up.
What will Daegon's Relationship with Aicent be, and since Viserys knows that Rhaenyra will only want Daegon, he will probably marry her to him against his will, cause Daegon is his favourite nephew.
So will Daemon actually marry Laena Velaryon in this one, and will Rhaenyra ever calm down about Daegon
That's where things get complicated. Daegon is actually in love with Alicent and the two were in a secret relationship before her marriage with Viserys which is the main source of Daegon 's resentment towards his uncle coupled with a few other factors.
Probably and no.
So for Daegon's story in the far future
Learning that he'd have had a close bond with Jaehaerys is certainly a surprise personally when reading about the Old King I find it to be a case of while he was one of the better kings Westros has seen it's clear he wasn't much of a family man or rather wasn't one after the early part of his reign I mean look at the relationships he had with his children that are younger than Alyssa and aside from mentioning a preference for Viserys as his heir over Rhaenys that just stems from Jaehaerys wanting a man to succeed him not due to any particular closeness with Viserys
Plus don't think Jaehaerys and and Alysanne reconciled quite as much as people might think after their two quarrels even if some love was still there
Heck if it could have worked out timeline wise would have suggested Daegon become close with the Good Queen in her final years being there for her last flight on Silverwing and preventing that fall she took some time after that broke her hip but that wouldn't work timeline wise as I said
Still with a close bond with Jaehaerys I like it can see from Jaehaerys perspective as well this having been him sorta trying to make up for the fact he always but the realm before his own family and he really treasures the bond he struck up with his great grandson Daegon so yeah I'd definitely have it be the case that for his final years Daegon was the most frequent company his great grandfather had and the Jaehaerys even at the end of his life was lucid enough that he never mistoke Daegon for anyone else and that Daegon was there when Jaehaerys finally passed away and being the one to lite his pyre at the funeral with hopefully Vhagar
As for Viserys hope you considering changing Daegon's view on his uncle in that he actually returns the warmth Viserys shows him don't get me wrong he can still hold Aemma's against him and to an extent the whole Viserys having sons that the Hightowers are 100% definitely going to push the claims off over Rhaenyra but I'll be honest while I couldn't care less really about book Viserys house of the Dragon Viserys turned him into one of my favourite characters
So yeah while Aemma's death and the ensuring of a succession dispute are two sour points I still hope you have Daegon return the warmth his uncle shows him
Okay so while Daegon might hate the Vale I hope at the very least someone in the Vale he doesn't hate is Jeyne Arryn instead she's a dear friend of his with Daegon even being responsible for putting down Arnold Arryn's rebellion and also being the one to take his life in said rebellion point is Daegon makes it clear Jeyne will rule the Vale unquestionably so long as he's around
Guess the trip to Yi Ti also included a stop over in Leng where he got Khia
Actually with that trip to Yi Ti and Leng while I think we shouldn't see Daegon's what year or year and half in those places because well frankly we don't know shit about what was up in that part of the world at the time plus rather see Daegon sticking to Westros anyway from his time there hope he did some great favour to the then God Empress of Leng and Azure Emperor of Yi Ti resulting in both rulers sending ships bond with Kingslanding filled with gifts and treasure for Daegon making him one of if not the richest men in Westros
Daegon could reference how surprised he was when he got back to Westros on his dragon with Khia and found this wealth waiting for him haha
Thanks for confirming that very important information about Khia by the way haha
Glad he will be close with Helaena to
Don't worry about replying to everything in this by the way you know to save space in the authors notes haha
Jaehaerys wanted a male successor because he wasn't stupid. Westeros is a Patriarchal society, it didn't matter how competent Rhaenys, most Lords just wouldn't follow a woman.
I doubted that there was an actual reconciliation.
Probably not.
The first chapter will actually follow King Jaehaerys's last interaction with Daegon.
Their relationship will be in a terrible state until Viserys dies unfortunately. You see, the actual reason for Daegon's terrible relationship with his uncle is because Daegon was in love with Alicent (The two had a secret relationship.) and he really didn't took their marriage well at all.
Sadly, Daegon will be the biggest jerk to Viserys.
That will actually be a plot point.
Yup.
Oh no, we don't have enough information about the place, so it will mostly happen off screen.
Not really.
Haha.
Because there's a small possibility that she's his daughter.
I just did.
Excellent chapter, I was already worried that you had abandoned the story, I'm glad that was not the case.
I'm looking forward to the story of house of the dragon, a tip since Daegon will have an original dragon, you could give him an original color too, I recommend purple with silver details, in ancient rome purple was used by those in high rank in government it is a color that means wisdom, nobility and power.
I AM NOT ABANDONING THIS STORY!
Well...
To be fair quite isolated part of the vale entirely possible I think that those hill tribesmen climbed up the sheer cliff it just took a long fucking time for them haha
Got to admit I laughed at how Sandor shut up when he saw Artys take the torch and then start setting trees on fire honestly with the command he will have over his animal friends makes me kinda hope that when Raziel meets say Leaf she addresses him as the Warg King very much after the Warg Kings the Starks fought
Yep the bards are going to have a field day with the tale of the brave Stag or Lion Prince depending on the bards preference haha and his loyal hound venturing into the caves of the mountain to save the noble Bronze Lord from the savage Moon Brothers also I love Raziel being completely understanding in Yohn's determination to get his stuff back ie the ancient armour haha oh and head canon time I think the Royce's have a room full of their ancient armour all of different shapes and sizes to fit the build of whoever is the Lord Royce
To be fair I don't think Yohn is going to make a big deal over how Raziel killed Ulf that man was going to die anyway and as far as Bronze Yohn was concerned he was only a hill tribes man
Got to love how causal Raziel was when bringing up oh yeah found the corpse of the Vales big legendary hero haha
Neat learning Rhaenys will be the Dornish companion but can I ask who else could it have been? Because if it's a girl then Dorne can be a two for one companion special haha also thinking about it since from the previews I'm guessing the Martells might be the last family to host Raziel on his grand royal progress/fostering throughout the kingdoms when Raziel goes back to Kingslanding for a longer stint of time I can see Arianne, Oberyn, Ellaria and the sand snakes all accompanying him back to the capital and staying for like at least half a year yes I think they'd love him enough to deal with being in the same city as Robert haha
Or maybe the Starks will be last and the Martells second to last actually
With Blackfyre to be honest if Raziel offered it to Dany and Rhaenys I can see them turning the offer down Rhaenys in part due to Blackfyre not suiting her sword style and both would point out how Blackfyre is much more fitting in every way for Raziel plus with the whole sword of kings deal Blackfyre has going on it's like it was made for Raziel plus I could see Raziel happily wielding the sword of Maegor haha while of course still being very much attached to Dark Sister
Speaking of glad you like the idea of Shiera leaving behind Dark Sister and Storm Queen for Raziel in a private hidden chamber of her own could picture the note she would leave behind having a little bit like and consider yourself lucky young Raziel I never let any man into this chamber haha so yeah hope when next back in Kingslanding and before he heads off to whatever the next kingdom is Raziel finds the Seastar chamber with Dark Sister and such inside for him to wield from then on
Side note to that I think Robert would just laugh at his son "stealing" one of the swords the Dragons had after all doubt Raziel would tell everyone it would be more accurate to say the swords are a gift
Oh as for Aegons crown yeah it's said to be lost in Dorne but I read that as code for after the Dornish got done killing the Young Dragon they 100% stole his crown and the Martells kept it as a trophy ever since plus Arianne and co giving Raziel that crown at the end of his stay to be the crown he will eventually have placed on his head when he's coronated would be just another fine example of how loved Raziel is by most of the Martells and Dorne as a whole
With the Dragons of Raziel and Daegon to be honest with Daegon I'd really like and recommend giving him Vhagar over a oc dragon born from the egg that was gifted to Mysaria because yeah while that dragon would have grown to a good size by the time of the dance it wouldn't be in the top five of the biggest dragons Vhagar in my personal opinion would be the most fitting dragon plus having Vhagar more so than any dragon would definitely contribute most or that lax lifestyle he wants haha plus having Vhagar would make Daegon unquestionably the most dangerous force to the other side
Yeah Vhagar was really awesome for me in House of the Dragon haha
So what I suggest give Daegon Vhagar plus a possible secondary dragon in the Cannibal in his story and for Raziel have his Dragon be a Oc dragon again hopefully a gold and black one that's hopefully called Morghul and say the egg Morghul hatched from was the egg Daemon gave Mysaria and say the egg was another gift left by the Seastar and say Raziel reads a book detailing the appearance of all recorded dragon eggs collected by the Targaryens he reads the description of the egg Daemon gave to Mysaria matches his egg
I have a sneaking suspicion Edmure is going to become a essentially favourite punching bag for Raziel during his time at Riverrun haha like the implication that Raziel is going to pretty much assure the rise of Alayne as the first Lady Paramount of the Riverlands and nice to know that Alayne does have at least one more good family bond aside from the Blackfish with Shella Whent
Plus I'll admit to liking Alayne taking on a more Whent theme due to the fact if she wore armour it be like the armour Danelle Lothston her likely ancestor wears ie just look up Danelle's song of ice and fire wiki page it's the picture at the bottom plus when it comes to the castles she inherits I can see her really loving both Harrenhall and Riverrun in particular I can see her take some vindictive pleasure that the seat of House Tully is hers and you know regardless of which name she takes it will at least carry more prestige than her fathers own name
Haha when it comes to taking Loras onto his Kingsguard I can see him saying to Margaery he's only taking Loras onto his Kingsguard because Margaery is the one asking him to do so
With Rhaenys while initially dying the platinum gold streak in her hair I hope after meeting Dany Rhaenys realises there is more to her family than just her father so she soon decides to stop dying her hair not long after
Another thing I'm thinking about is with Raziel having hall marks of Targaryen power ie Aegon the Conquerors crown the families swords and actual dragons plus the unquestioned support of the two indisputable Targaryens Dany and Rhaenys I can see Jon Connington blowing an absolute gasket over Raziel having all that while Aegon doesn't
Exactly.
He will meet her but don't expect her to call him that.
He will be forced to endure some terrible songs in the next chapter. Agreed, I imagine that they had armors for all sorts of builds.
He was more terrified than anything.
Mostly because he doesn't know if it's really him.
The list of options was kind of long. The Starks will be the last ones, The Martells will be before them.
It's more complicated than that.
Not exactly.
Kind of.
I actually support that theory, because I can totally imagine the Martells doing that.
I'll consider that.
Raziel will be the one to write a certain embarrassing song and will give him a very embarrassing nickname. Hilariously, Alayne will have no desire for it.
Yup...
Pretty much.
Most of her arc will be her coming to terms with her family's actions and trying to focus on some the good in them.
That's an interesting idea.
ok dude you need to cut back on the comment section. as cool as they are, the section is as long or longer than the story itself
It's the only way to answer some questions.
I am a little bit late but when will you be publishing the HOTD fanfiction.
I Have Absolutely No Idea.
glad the story was not abandoned
It's not
