Chapter 3: The Beginnings of a Plan

Yagi groaned as he shifted from side to side, moaning with pain.

"I told you not to exert yourself too much," A familiar, warm voice said.

"I didn't," Yagi replied as he slowly shifted towards the voice and opened his eyes, "What happened?" he asked Chiyo.

Chiyo shrugged, "You tell me." She said angrily, "What were you thinking walking around in the sun when I told you to rest yourself for a couple of weeks!"

Yagi gulped in fear, knowing that an angry Chiyo didn't bode well for anyone, "B-but I did! I didn't transform into All Might or go and fight crime, or any of the other stuff." He tried to defend himself.

Chiyo huffed, "Your idea of what's 'physically demanding' is very different from that of normal people. What I meant by rest is bedrest. Not moving around in this sweltering heat."

Yagi felt embarrassed and quickly muttered an apology, "Sorry. But regardless, I couldn't stay still and do nothing after finding out all of this." Yagi said grimly.

Chiyo understood by the change in Yagi's demeanor that there had to be a serious reason as to why Yagi hadn't followed her instructions, "Finding out what?" Chiyo probed calmly.

Yagi stayed silent for a bit, his anger slightly rising as the thoughts came back to him, "You know everything about me, Recovery Girl. I was an orphan, lucky enough to get One for All and get out of that hell hole that was called an orphanage." Yagi said darkly.

Chiyo nodded calmly, "That was decades ago. Why bring it up now?"

"Because, after becoming a pro hero, I made sure to send a hefty sum of money to the orphanage for its upkeep and so that the orphans staying there could have a better life than me. But those bastards!" Yagi gritted his teeth with anger, "Those bastards at the hero commission stole it all and never gave a penny to them!"

Chiyo sighed, "Everyone knows the commission is corrupt, but to think they'd fall this low… Regardless, you should be looking at your health first before jumping into action. If you're dead, you'll be of no help to anyone." Chiyo advised.

Yagi nodded, "I know that but it's just so infuriating knowing that all this time they had gotten no help."

"I know," Chiyo said, "But it's not your fault. I'm not saying don't help the orphanage; help them but you have all the free time in the world now that you have retired. Just take a break to regain your health first."

Yagi gave it some thought and nodded in agreement, "I suppose you are right. But I have to help the other orphanages too."

Chiyo raised an eye, "Other orphanages?"

Yagi nodded, "One of the kids had said something about how they are lucky to be at this orphanage while all the others are still in ruins. That kind of struck a chord."

Chiyo smiled, "Good to see you're finally putting that brain of yours to use." She chuckled, "Contact me if you ever need medical help for the orphanages. I know a lot of people who'd be willing to help, heck maybe even for free."

Yagi nodded, "Thanks."

There was a stretch of silence following the conversation where Chiyo went back to her computer while Yagi awkwardly sat on his bed.

Yagi coughed to get Chiyo's attention, "So, is that it?"

Chiyo nodded, "Yup. You can go home now. Just don't overexert yourself." She replied without facing him.

"No advice. No lecture about how to pull this off? Nothing? Yagi asked.

Chiyo smiled, "No. I trust you to be able to do this."

Yagi looked confused as he remembered Chiyo berating him to be careful just a month back before the fight with All for One. "Why?" he asked.

"Because this time you are Yagi, not All Might. And I trust Yagi to be capable enough to pull this off."

A/N: Sorry for the long update. And also, sorry for the short chapter. I'm just trying to get back into a rhythm and this seemed apt for now.
