AN: Second time posting this chapter to fix inconsistencies. Sorry for the confusion.

A woman checks her watch while parking her car in the employee space in front of the PizzaPlex. Her eyes have the markings of a tired individual who hasn't had a healthy sleeping schedule for a long time already. She steps out of the vehicle with her backpack strapped, then proceeds to bring out a few key items for her job: A flashlight, her ID badge, and a thermos full of coffee. The first two items are clipped to her utility belt, but the last one is already begging to be emptied.

"I better get well over fifty cents for this." She mumbles to herself. She checks her watch again, 11:30. The numbers taunt her with how late it is. "This is going to be a long night." She drags her feet to the still open building, its bright lights glare into her weary eyes the closer she approaches the building, the static mascots on display staring into her soul as if they were mocking her.

"What are you looking at?" She said to technically no one. An exasperated sigh escapes her lips. "I'm already going insane."

'I should be asleep, not toiling in this place during the night. Why did something have to go bad enough to warrant a guard?'

She resigns herself to her fate, the entrance doors appearing more intimidating then they had any right to be. Passing through the doors made everything worse. The inside is much more punishing, there are countless neon lights burning a hole in her retinas without mercy. There are a couple of 'fellow' employees quickly making their way to exit where she just came, oh how she wishes she could go with them. They remained silent as they passed by. No glance, no thumbs up, not even a 'good night' or 'good luck'. She peers at the closing doors with contempt.

'Pricks.'

The silence is extremely off-putting, she is too used to the place being nonstop chaos at all hours of the day. The lack of people reinforces the sense of scale that is normally lost when under operation, it is overwhelming to say the least. The weight of what her job entails from here on out suddenly hits her full force, she has to sit down on the ground for a moment to process it.

'I have to watch over the PizzaPlex by myself. What the hell was management thinking?'

With so many things going wrong at once with no trace as to why, her bosses concluded that there was no other choice then to move a day guard to the nightshift. Though not more then one for some stupid reason, however this may have been a blessing in disguise, she didn't really like her co-workers all that much anyway.

She gets back on her feet to continue her trek towards the main security booth within the staff-only portion of the building.

'Here goes nothing.'

Roxanne had just finished up redressing Gregorys surface level wounds, he looked much better then the night before thanks to being allowed to rest. Though Freddy still couldn't help but feel like he holds most if not all of the blame for what happened to him, after all he told him how to get a cart going. The child noticed his silent anguish.

"Are you okay Freddy? You seem to be a bit down." He perks up to quickly erase all traces of being upset.

"I'm alright superstar, just a little worried about you is all."

"That is a given, but you look like you're about to cry, if that is even possible for a robot." Roxys ears droop a little from that comment.

"I…I can't help but feel at least a little responsible for your injuries. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have gotten hurt on those carts." Gregory is caught off guard by what is essentially an admission of guilt to something he really had no control over.

"Stop that. You aren't to blame, and never will be." He firmly retorted. Freddy is about to protest otherwise. "No, I don't want to hear it. It was me, and me alone." Roxanne places her hand on the bears shoulder to reassure him, but to little effect.

"It'll be alright Freddy; you did what you could with what little resources you had." She said to him, though it seemed to go in one ear and out the other.

"I'm sorry, I am not in a good state of mind at the moment."

"Maybe you should clear your head. A proper rest to give yourself some room to think more clearly. I can continue to keep watch over Greg, I'll guard him as if he was one of my own." He mulls over her words for a moment before coming to a conclusion.

"I suppose you're onto something. I'll be in my room if you need me. Be safe you two." He exits the room quietly. Gregory felt bad for Freddy, this is the first time he has seen the bear be so upset.

"Do you think he'll be alright? He looked like he beat himself up pretty bad."

"He'll pull through, that I can guarantee. When, however, is a different story altogether." She sits down beside him. "Moving on from that, are you hungry? There should be fresh staff bots on call this time." He nods eagerly.

The door the security office opens, its sole occupant closing the door behind her as she enters. She swipes her ID on the nearby scanner, clocking her in for the night. Being a day guard originally, she was already familiar with the job and what it required, therefore, there were no specific instructions from management on how to perform her duties.

'I guess they trust me enough to improvise the night. Or at the very least not sleep on the job.

She dropped her backpack under a desk as she sat on a metal chair, then downs at least a quarter of her coffee. Her eyes idly glaze over the many, many video feeds that practically took over an entire wall, almost nothing of interest was occurring. At least until she saw movement in one of the feeds. It was Freddy walking across the hall then disappearing in the direction of where his room would be. With that she got an idea on how to start her night.

'I think checking on them would be a good way to start off my first night. I wonder how they behave when there are no children to entertain.'

That would be something to see, the animatronics behaving totally different from how they would during the day. She was about to proceed with her plan but was interrupted by her phone ringing. Frustration kicks in as she racks her mind over who would be calling her at this hour.

"Hello?"

"Is this the night guard for the PizzaPlex?"

"...Who's asking?" She holds her breath waiting for the answer.

"Someone from the tech team. Listen, can you please do me a favor?" She exhales aggressively, losing all hints of fear.

"Ugh, already being cryptic–What do you want, guy?"

"Sorry for coming out of nowhere, but can you please keep a close eye on Freddy, Montgomery, and Chica? They recently have been experiencing heavy malfunctions one way or another, and I was worried if it may get worse with no human supervision around to keep them from causing undue destruction upon the building or themselves."

"You're only telling me this now? Where were you earlier then?"

"You were sent home before I could get to you."

"You know what? Fine, whatever." She is about to hang up, but realizes he omitted info on what to do with the remaining animatronic. "What about Roxanne?"

"Oh, she is fine programming wise. She was a bit roughed up, but nothing too serious. She was fixed without issue pretty much immediately this morning."

"Alright then, I'll do it. But mark my words, if you contact me with more last-minute instructions again, I'll personally make sure you end up scrubbing the toilets for a week." She didn't wait for his response, hanging up right as she finished her threat. She sighs heavily as she leans back on her chair.

'Time to play babysitter I guess.'

She exits the security booth, intent on checking in with every animatronic.
