Twenty years later, Malcolm reflects on the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.

Malcolm knows his time with the NYPD is over but when he becomes a suspect in a particularly heinous crime along with one of his few childhood friends, he can't sit back and not help the team save children who are being trafficked and killed.

It's been seven months since Endicott died, since Jessica killed him. She thought it was over. She knows it isn't.

"What did you do!" Dani questioned, alarmed. "Malcolm, what did you do!" She was louder this time. He couldn't hear her though, he could only hear his panicked heart thud against his chest. Dazed, he looked down at his hands; the normally pale skin was now crimson and dripped of his own father's blood. He shook. "I… I…" He stuttered, his breath increasing. What had he done?

The girl in the box is gone, but Malcolm has infinite demons lurking in the corners of his mind. The worst month of memories is here for Jessica, and her own demons are flaring up again. Trapped and unable to call for help, he feels like the world is closing in. Twenty years later, while working a case, he's faced with eerily similar circumstances. Gil is worried, and Malcolm isn't okay.

The rate at which she's on her feet and running is dizzying. She almost rips her phone from the wall it's plugged into with her urgency to move. Her bare feet echo on the floors as she races down the hall. Her mother's scream still resonating in her mind makes her hate every step that she was too far from helping.
