She awoke as he began to cry once more. This wasn't unexpected for her as she held the young boy in her arms, trying her best to soothe his pain. She hated having to see him go through this as she rubbed his back, but all this did was just make him cry more. She knew why this was. His mother did this to him whenever he was sad. But now. Now she wasn't here to comfort him.

Soon his breathing began to steady as he began to sleep once more. She held him in her arms as she had done for the last couple of nights now. Soon, she laid him back in the bed as she laid next to him. Soon she felt him snuggle next to her as a tear ran down her cheek. Watching her nephew have to go through this only made her hate the cruel world that had done this to him.

That thought came to her. Her nephew.

In all honesty he was more than that to her.

She had found him all those years ago at the orphanage, alone and crying for someone to love him. The small innocent baby boy who had lost everything in one night and then had to suffer for it.

She looked down at his small face, seeing his whisker like birthmarks and remembering that night once more. The death and pain that had come from it.

But that night had brought something to this world that she could never hate. Someone she would never want to suffer. And here he was now having to deal with suffering. She brought him close as she rubbed his back and hummed a lullaby that she would always sing to him when he was an infant. And this very thought brought her back to that night. The day she found him in that room.

The day she vowed to never let him suffer again.

Author's Note: Aaaaaaaaand hello there. For my fans who are wondering why I made another story, well the answer is quite simple.

Cause this idea just wouldn't leave my head and as I tried to write my other stories it just kept distracting me. So I made this chapter so it would stop bothering me for a bit. Also I wanted to get something out to my fans who have been waiting for a story. So think of this as a buffer story that I'll do when I'm writing the others I have. I don't plan on this story's chapters to be very long. Heck I wrote this chapter in half an hour so I can crank these out whenever writers block sets in on something.

So I won't say much about what this one's about other then it's based off the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" and that's all I'll say.

By for now
