Hello, bots and cons, heroes and villains. Centurion Maximo and welcome to the sequel of Young Justice: Their War, Our World. I present to you all: Young Justice: Frontiers! Like with Their War, Our World, many things will be vastly different. I hope people continue to like Their War, Our World despite it being complete. However, now the time has come for the next adventure in this DC/Transformers crossover. I never thought I'd get this far, let alone write a sequel to Their War, Our World.
Here is the OC/Story Contributor list from Young Justice: Their War, Our World:
Mobian
Vein Bloodborne
Mpatton12
Doc Fossil
Gregory
I hope this list expands from the last story. Also, like with Their War, Our World, this story has been inspired by another story from Moonview: Friends. Once again, thank you very much.
Now, let's begin this new adventure!
*Star City. Nightwing & Zatanna. 21:34 pm*
Five years have passed since the Machination's superweapon: The Andromedome was destroyed and the day was saved, but with Autobot casualties. The heroes had lost Bishop, Embersting, Skywinder, and Sidewinder. Given a proper eulogy, courtesy of Optimus Prime, they continued the good fight. However, in the past five years, the Machination were proving to be pretty elusive since that time. Lately, though, they've been on the move.
That wasn't the only thing that's happened. New anti Justice League sentiment had festered, courtesy of the Machination's secret public member: Megan Guigilone who was spewing that the Justice League had no way to defend Earth from extraterrestrial threats as the Watchtower was destroyed.
Dick Grayson had grown and adopted the name Nightwing, now with a black outfit with a blue symbol. He'd adopted a pair of batons with an electrical element to stun enemies if he ever got overrun. He was moving on a potential Machination lead with his girlfriend Zatanna who'd at least grown by a full foot. Her outfit hadn't changed that much from five years ago aside from it fitting her new figure.
"Ready, Z?" Nightwing smiled.
"Always, Dick." Zatanna smirked at her boyfriend and pecked him on the lips. "Question is, are Arcee and Artemis?"
"Always ready, lovebirds." Arcee playfully snarked over the comms. "Artemis and I are in position."
"Then let's do this." Nightwing said, readying his batons. The pair jumped down from their rooftop position and quietly entered the seemingly abandoned warehouse. Deciding to continue the silent approach, they snuck around, not finding anything even remotely promising of a lead. "This doesn't look like a lead."
Suddenly, lights went off, momentarily blinding the two. Machination thugs wearing stealth uniforms flooded in, aiming their weapons. "How is it that your stealth skills have dropped since the Dark Knight was unfortunately revived." A familiar voice said. Bludgeon walked into view, his sword at the ready. "It has been a while, Grayson." He said, pointing his sword at Nightwing, ignoring Zatanna as he didn't deem her a legitimate threat. "Interesting new look."
"Figured it was time for a change, Bludgeon." Nightwing snarked back. "You Machination guys have been awfully quiet. Did the Andromedome's destruction set you back so much?"
"You are foolish to think that was our master plot five years ago." Bludgeon chuckled before narrowing his eyes and speaking in a darker tone. "We have plans your feeble human minds cannot comprehend." He then slipped back into a mocking tone. "Surely, you shouldn't be doing this as you've no doubt heard of the rising sentiment against you and your mentors."
"We'll get that sorted out. Just you wait." Nightwing sneered.
"Sure." Bludgeon didn't really believe him. "If it were that easy, then perhaps Bishop wouldn't have had to give his life to destroy the Andromedome. Anyway, there's our real guest now." He suddenly unleashed a wave of energy from his sword, causing the mysterious intruder to fall to the ground hard.
"Oooohhh…" The intruder groaned in a female voice, revealing thick black hair wearing a dark green colored kimono with shreds and rips along it. She had a white mask with a couple red stripes and a wide grin. "Oh, crap…"
"You must be Cheshire." Bludgeon grinned. "It's taken quite some time to track you down. Now, you will be coming with me."
"Like hell I will…"Cheshire growled, but then hissed in pain as she gripped her side which was now bleeding.
"You're not in a condition to move fast." Bludgeon gestured for his men to capture her, but Nightwing and Zatanna to step in and blast the thugs away from Cheshire.
"For once, this is a matter that doesn't concern you." Bludgeon rolled his optics. However, within seconds, he was evading swings from Nightwing's batons while Zatanna used her magic to blast any other thugs away while she got Cheshire out of the warehouse with Artemis and Arcee providing cover fire. Artemis in particular was unleashing a barrage of arrows to ensure her sister got to safety.
Back inside the warehouse, a couple Machination thugs were incapacitated, courtesy of Arcee and Artemis. Bludgeon gestured for his forces to cease fire. "As fun as it would be to trade blows with you, Nightwing, I have much more important matters to attend to." He threw down a flashbang grenade which exploded on contact with the ground. When the light died down, Bludgeon and his forces were gone.
"What does he mean by that?" Nightwing pondered as he made his way out of the warehouse. Rejoining the other three, he saw Cheshire trying to get up, but unable to as the wound was quite deep.
"Damn it…" Cheshire gritted her teeth in pain, almost letting tears fall.
"Jade…" Artemis whispered, concern evident in her voice.
"Hey, sis…" Jade groaned. "Not the family reunion you were expecting, huh?"
"We'll say." Arcee cut in. "Why's Bludgeon of all 'Cons tracking you down?"
Cheshire realized that there wasn't any point in hiding anything from them. "T-The Machination is tracking all the remaining members of the Light and presenting them with three choices: Joining them, imprisonment, or death…"
"So, basically, if you join us, you live. If not, you're shut down." Arcee growled. "Do you have any clue which members of the Light are out?"
"Vandal Savage, the Brain, and Monsieur Mallah have been imprisoned, those three I know. Klarion is actually still on the run along with me and Sportsmaster."
"Your father." Nightwing said, surprising Cheshire.
"How do you know that?!" Cheshire demanded before regretting shouting as she groaned in pain from her wound.
"Artemis came clean after we destroyed the Machination's Andromedome five years ago." Zatanna answered. "We still accepted her."
"What are you saying?" Cheshire asked.
"That you're not really an evil person, you're just on the wrong path." Nightwing said. "Besides, we're taking you with us for now. You're in no condition to move on your own."
"You must be… Nnnnggghhh…" Cheshire tried to say, but she once again felt bad pain from the wound.
Just then, a white, blue, and red 2015 Jaguar XK drove up and transformed to robot mode. "Everyone okay here?"
"We're good, Mirage." Zatanna smiled. Mirage showed up one year after the Battle of Happy Harbor. He quickly showed himself as a valuable Autobot to have in the ranks as his power of invisibility. Though Cliffjumper also had a cloaker, Mirage was far more adept with stealth missions.
"Anything leading to the Machination at all?" Mirage then asked.
"Actually, we just met Bludgeon again." Nightwing answered. "And this is Cheshire, a member of the former Light. She just told us that all remaining Light members are being tracked down and given the option to join the Machination or essentially die."
"Interesting. From what you told me, the Machination was already large in size five years ago." Mirage brought up. "They could gain more ground if any joined them at this point."
"Well, Kalrion is magical, so he's kinda cheating cause he can stay hidden for much longer than you." Artemis let herself get a small smirk.
"Haha…" Cheshire said with a sneer.
Zatanna took out a black Samsung Galaxy S7 which transformed into a robot mode. "Sorry for not using you till now, Dialtone."
"It's okay, Zatanna. Remember that I'm not really one for combat." Dialtone waved off. He suddenly started buzzing. "You're receiving a call." He transformed back into his cell phone mode.
"Hello?" Zatanna asked.
"Hello, Zatanna." Black Canary answered on the other side. "That lead turn up anything?"
"Oh, you'd be surprised, Canary." Zatanna responded. "We have Cheshire who's been injured by Bludgeon. She needs medical attention before she can repeat what she told us. We need a ground bridge." With that, a ground bridge opened up. The group plus Mirage walked through carrying Cheshire with them.
*The Ice Box, Arctic Circle. Underneath the Polar Icecap. 23:00 pm*
Frost Vortex remained in vehicle mode as he was lowered into the Machination's forward base in the arctic region via a hidden landing pad. It had grown considerably from just a prison for members of the former Light which included Vandal Savage to a fully-functioning base, complete with a scientific wing, ground bridge control room, armory, and command center. Killer Frost and her division of the Machination chose the Icebox as their post, as well as the Cons Frost Vortex along with a pair of new additions: Cold Snap, Polar Fang who both adopted the form of Polar Bears. They acted as excellent outside sentries/patrolmen.
Not only that, but thanks to the contribution of Killer Frost's unique metahuman DNA, Dr. Desmond and Venomsting were able to create a brand new type of Genomorph: Cryomorphs. These Genomorphs had the power to create blades of ice from their very bodies. Any normal Machination soldiers at the base had been outfitted with cold-resistant uniforms.
Killer Frost was enjoying her seat in the command center when a 21-year old woman with long, white hair, red eyes, a piercing on her right ear, wearing a white and light blue robe of sorts, white gloves, and white combat boots walked in. "Miss Frost." She bowed in respect.
"Please, Everwinter. No need to bow to me." Killer Frost waved off with a chuckle.
"Understood." Everwinter smiled. "I just feel I have to since you Machination people took me in from the streets."
"We are happy you were willing to join us, not to mention how excited I was when you showed off your ice powers. Perfect for my branch." Killer Frost commented.
"Of course. Anyway, Psypher will be joining us for a while." Everwinter informed. "She should be arriving right about now."
Just as Everwinter said that, a ground bridge opened up. Seconds later, a pink, rose red, and white Sukhoi Su-35 flew through and transformed into a slender robot mode. "Helloo!" She exclaimed. "Holy scrap! It's literally in the ice! Good thing it's toasty in here!"
"Welcome to the Icebox, Psypher." Frost Vortex greeted.
"Good to see you, Frost Vortex, but did this base have to be in such a cold place?" Psypher complained.
"Oh, come on! It's not that bad." Frost Vortex smirked. "Anyway, let's get you squared away. More will be stationed here very soon. You're one of the first."
"I see." Psypher said as the two walked away from the ground bridge station. "I assume Killer Frost loves this location."
*Pacific Ocean. Insecticon Island. 600 Kilometers off South America. 00:12 am*
The formerly named Jurassic Island had become a third hive of Insecticons since the Jurassicons were destroyed five years ago in battle. In those five years, the number of intelligent Insecticons had grown. Though Bombshell, Shrapnel, and Kickback remained in Bialya with Queen Bee and Psimon while Electro was with Poison Ivy on Ivy Island on the former Kobra Island, there was a black, purple, and yellow cybertronic Cricket named Chirper stationed there.
Chirper proved to be good with distraction and auditory disruption thanks to his abilities gained from scanning his Cricket alt mode. Though, he wasn't the only sentient Decepticon on the island. Though not an Insecticon, a purple and dark green cybertronic Orb Weaver named Weblock volunteered to tag along to be there for any new evolved Insecticons that may crop up.
A noise was suddenly heard. "Boo!" A voice said next to Weblock which made her squeak. "Hahaha! Oh, you are too easy!" Out of seemingly nowhere, a light green cybertronic Panther Chameleon appeared.
"Very funny, Phasescale." Weblock deadpanned.
"You bet it is!" Phasescale calmed down after a minute. "I'm so glad I made it to this planet to annoy you. I wonder how the other new comrades are doing here."
"Probably just as well." Weblock said. "The Autobots and their human allies have barely detected us for five whole years. Meanwhile, we've remained on the move with multiple plans continuously."
*KSI Headquarters, Chicago. Joshua Joyce. 00:45 am*
Joshua Joyce was beyond happy. Thanks to the Machination's resources, his company had finally cracked the code and gotten their mass-produced Traxes to transform exactly like the Cybertronians. "This is the greatest breakthrough of KSI's entire history!" He happily exclaimed walking out of his office. What he saw his scientists working on next brought an even wider smile to his face. A red robot with a green visor with a red Pagani Huayra close to it. This robot had been modeled after Bumblebee, but better. This robot was codenamed 'Stinger'.
"Dr. Tillson, how is Stinger coming along?" Joshua asked.
"We've just completed him, Mr. Joyce." Dr. Tillson answered. He had short, messy brown hair, slightly yellow eyes, and a shaggy beard wearing the KSI scientist uniform. "Good thing our friends in the Machination helped us crack the code."
"Indeed. Now, what about the silver Traxes? Have we decided on a vehicle for them?" Joshua raised an eyebrow.
"Actually,we were hoping you'd be okay with this model." Dr. Tillson showed Joshua a datapad with a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. "What do you think, sir?"
"I think that's a good fit for the silver Traxes as the red Traxes will be modeled after Stinger unless you have another suggestion." Joshua said.
"Honestly, I think we should wait until we've produced enough silver Traxes." Dr. Tillson responded. "Besides, I think you'll like to know that we've already started on a new, more heavy-duty robot."
"Heavy-duty, you say?" Joshua rubbed his chin. "What is it's codename?"
"Junkheap." Dr. Tillson answered.
"Then, the alt mode should be obvious." Joshua correctly assumed.
"Yes, but with the alt mode's size gives room for modification." Dr. Tillson brought up.
"Modification?" Now, Joshua was even more interested.
"I think you'd better walk with me so I can explain." Dr. Tillson gestured.
*Atlantis. Ocean Master. Atlantis Throne Room. 01:34 am*
Ocean Master was once again sitting on his throne, guarded by Trenchers, a second new breed of Genomorphs combined with Atlantean DNA. While he wasn't happy that Mera wasn't captured, what placated this was that he was finally the ruler of the underwater kingdom meaning his place in the Machination was secure unlike the failure of Vertigo of Vlatava. He was sure the Machination's scientists were having a field day freely analyzing the mysterious starfish his people had found.
Not only that, but he also was expecting some Decepticon reinforcements today. "I wonder when they're going to get here." He muttered to himself before an Atlantean female the same age as him swam in. This one was only the first of a few Atlanteans actually willing to join the Machination's side. She had long black hair, purple eyes, markings on her arms, but they were aqua green wearing Machination-modified Atlantean robes. "Ala'nna." He smiled.
"King Orm..." Ala'nna smiled back. "I have good news."
"Do tell, my dear." Ocean Master held Ala'nna close.
"We have finally captured Black Manta in one of our patrols." Ala'nna grinned.
Ocean Master's smile grew wider at that news. "Excellent! Inform Admiral Hook to come pick him up. He won't be imprisoned here."
"At once, my king." Ala'nna bowed and swam out of the throne room in a good mood.
"Now, where are those reinforcements?" Ocean Master asked himself.
"We're already here…" A new, deep voice said. Ocean Master turned around and his eyes widened to see a pink, seafoam green cybertronic tortoise with yellow eyes, sharp claws with two black cannons on the back. Five more sets of eerie yellow eyes glowed in the darkness.
"Who are you?" Ocean Master asked in astonishment without fear.
"You could call me an unstoppable killing machine." The tortoise's optics glowed even brighter. "And these five are my team. You'll see our efficiency soon enough..."
Hello, everyone. I hope everyone liked the premier chapter of Young Justice: Frontiers. Five years have passed since the finale of Their War, Our World. We see Dick Grayson, now Nightwing, checking out a potential Machination lead in Star City with his girlfriend Zatanna with Arcee and Artemis as backup. Instead, they end up in a trap by Bludgeon who mentions the anti Justice League sentiment festered by Megan Guiglione. Soon after bringing that up, Cheshire gets discovered, revealing that a few members of the former organization: The Light, are still around and that the Machination are hunting them down to imprison them. We also see the Autobot Mirage as well as a new Autobot-Aligned Mini-Con: Dialtone, who's partnered with Zatanna.
In the Arctic Circle or rather underneath it, the Icebox has become the new command base for Killer Frost and her branch of the Machination. This includes Frost Vortex and two new Decepticon characters. A pair of twins called Cold Snap and Polar Fang. We also meet a new member of her branch: Everwinter.
Also, the former Jurassic Island has become the third Insecticon hive where a new Insecticon named Chirper is stationed along with an Orb Weaver named Weblock. However, Insecticons and Weblock aren't the only ones there. There is a cybertronic Panther Chameleon named Phasescale.
Fourth of all, KSI has finally cracked the code and are now able to get their Traxes to transform just like the Cybertronians. Now, they can accelerate their operations as they have already completed Stinger as in the same Stinger from Age of Extinction except he'll actually be a character along with most of KSI's Transformers in this story.
Finally, in Atlantis, Ocean Master is enjoying his rule of the underwater kingdom with the second new breed of Genomorph: Trenchers. We see an Atlantean that willingly joined the Machination's side named Ala'nna who informs him that Black Manta has been captured. when he comes face to face with one of my all-time favorite Decepticons. Anyone who knows Decepticon Combiner teams, they'll probably know who the voice is.
As usual, if anyone has any ideas for this story, please let me know in the comments/reviews, or personally PM me.
