Prologue I – Start

What is love?

Love comes in a multiple forms, it can be explained in a variety of ways by a multitude of different people.

What it really means can be hard to answer, if possible at all.

It may mean absolute devotion to one another or give up your own happiness.

It can mean to always be by someone's side or to always care for them at a distance.

It could be spoken directly or be understood without any words.

All of those are sides of love, all of those are possible answers to the question, but most importantly, all of those are different while still sharing the same idea: to care for someone.

Now why did I ask that? You may wonder.

Because for me, love can be beautiful, painful or hilarious.

It can be said in a million words written at expansive, or with a simple trade of glances at a courtyard.

It can be show through hugs and kisses or through scissors and syringes.

It can be calm as a morning stroll or a wild ride like a rollercoaster going out of its tracks.

It can be everything.

And this is the story of how I experienced all of those different types of love, from different types of people.

Oonishi Honoka would always laugh at her friends whatever they brought up the subject of 'love at first sight'.

Mostly because they talked about it like they are desperate for it to happen, even though they are only 16.

She would always tell her friends that they are too young to be thinking of this type of stuff, they should just focus on their schoolwork for now, that's how the young brunette always thought.

But you see: Life has a funny way of making Honoka regret her words.

The brunette teenager was part of the art club in high school and one day, they went to a hot spring hotel on the outskirts of town to do a assignment.

A field trip of sorts.

Their assignment was to make a painting that captured the beauty of nature in a unique way, they are allowed to use any of the scenery surrounding the hotel.

'Sounds simple enough.' Honoka thought to herself at the time.

But soon after they got there, she couldn't get her painting right. She tried changing locations, from the natural hot springs, to the forest around the area, but it didn't help.

By the afternoon, the brunette was tired, she tried everywhere but couldn't bring herself to paint anything meaningful, the inspiration just wasn't coming.

The feelings just aren't there.

After putting away her art stuff, the young brunette walked around, lost in thought. That was until she saw one of the students from her school walking into the forest.

It was pretty late in the afternoon, almost night actually, so she curiously followed him.

That lead her to a small, secluded, part of the forest. There she found the other student taking photos.

He was a member of the photography club.

That club also had a similar assignment of taking pictures of the natural environment, so they tagged along for the trip.

While she thought the distracted photographer was kinda cute, what really got her attention was what he was taking pictures of: A small plantation of blooming seedlings around a abandoned small shrine.

It was honestly a very common sight, especially at this time of the year, yet it was exactly what the young artist needed.

It ignited Honoka's creativity.

She quickly pulled all of her brushes and her canvas out of the beg and got working.

Not too long after that, the boy that was taking the picture called for her, taking the teenage girl out of her trance.

"It's getting late, we should go back to the hotel." She could remember his smile like it was yesterday.

Mostly because it was that simple, kind smile that made her fall head-over-heels over this black-haired classmate.

After she packed her things again, the two got back to the hotel, talking all they way back.

She learned that his name was, funnily enough, Naegi Daisuke and that he was having the same creative troubles as she was, until he found that little spot more into the forest, he was planning on taking some more photos the next day, so he invited her to go with him.

The next day, the two are back at that secluded spot, Daisuke took some more photos and Honoka was able to finish her painting.

Both being satisfied with their work, they got back to the hotel to enjoy their last day on the hot springs.

The next day, both clubs returned to school, but although the clubs themselves barely interacted after that.

Those two did.

As the months passed, their friendship just got stronger and Honoka's friends started noticing her ever-so-slightly crush on the black-haired boy.

During their third year, Daisuke asked her out on a date, to which she obviously said yes.

From that day onwards, the two got officially together and to most of the others surprises, it was not just some high school crush. Their relationship continued even after their graduation.

Then four years later, they are married.

Naegi Honoka just found a simple job in a office, her husband also working on the same kind of job, both gained enough to live a simple if not boring life.

But the young brunette didn't particularly cared about that, she was with the man she loved and that was good enough, or so she thought.

Later that year, Honoka discovered she was pregnant, both her and Daisuke couldn't be more happy, although both had their worries.

Having a child was not a easy task, and both of them had their doubts about how good of parents they could really be, but with the help of each other's words of encouragement, they promised to do their best for their child.

So, on the 5th of February, 1995.

Their son was born.

They named him Makoto.

Prologue I - End

Hey it's been a while hasn't it.

So yeah I decided to revive this project, for the second time actually, but this time I decided to drop the format I was trying to write previously and go with something I'm more comfortable writing, so this time I'll have no excuses if I can't finish this story.

Anyways, hope you liked this first chapter, it's a little bit weird in how it's structured, I know, but only the prologue of the story is gonna be like that, so bear with me for those first three chapters.

So, see ya around!
