First and foremost, I would like to say while this is my story; I got my inspiration from the story; Smile of the Wolf by ThomeEGemcity. The idea of Sansa being infected by lycanthrope could make an interesting plot and I wanted to explore this story. I want to clarify this is an AU that I thought up so bear with me on how the story goes after all this is just made-up shit. Remember this story is just written for fun and not to be taken seriously.

*Revisions 7/8/2023: If you're new here or you are some of the regular folks, this is here to explain that this entire chapter has been rewritten from the ground up. I felt unsatisfied with my earlier work and decided that there should be an overhaul of my beginning chapters. This would only apply to the Prologue up to Chapter 12. For now, the Prologue will be changed but I will do the rest in time when I feel like it :p

Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of these character names or the story itself. George RR Martin owns all of these characters from his story ASOIAF.

Prologue: 295 AC

"Robb, what's so important that you had to drag both me, Arya, and Bran out of bed this late at night?" Sansa said exasperated. "Trust me you are going to love this I swear", Robb said as he led them deeper into the crypts. Sansa looked around worryingly, checking her back constantly, "You scared Sansa?" Arya replied. "Well anyone would be especially when you are walking through the crypts at night. Why did convince me to bring Bran along anyway?" Bran who was oblivious to the argument just babbled happily, as he patted his hands against Sansa's chest, "First of all it wasn't me, second you didn't have to take him along, I just insisted", Arya chastised Sansa.

Sansa huffed angrily as she went back to managing Bran. She hated the crypts; finding the dark halls cold and lonely. The stone statues of past Starks staring solemnly, judging seemed to have such an imposing power to them. Thankfully, Robb was leading them with a torch he got from a sleeping guard. How they managed to slip past any guards was beyond her understanding.

Robb looked back to ensure they were still following him. He smiled to himself, trying his best not to let release a few giggles at their own naivety. A few days ago, he proposed an idea to his brother Jon to scare his siblings. Jon was against the idea for quite some time before relenting. Jon was to wear an old drape and jump out, scaring their siblings. It took some planning on when they should do their prank until tonight. It seemed perfect tonight, a clear night sky, full moon, and all. As of now, Robb was leading them to Jon's hiding spot, jumping out and executing their plan.

As they continued walking along, low groans and moans echoed throughout the chamber. "What was that?" Sansa said, gripping Bran closer to herself "Maybe it's a ghost" Arya replied. "Maybe we should turn back. Mother and Father will be displeased about what we are doing right now," Sansa said fearfully. "No worries Sansa we're almost there," Robb said reassuringly as he continued on the way. Finally, they came before the statue of their ancestor Torrhen Stark, "The King who knelt" with a sad look on his face. "So what's the deal, Robb? Why did you bring us here for?" Arya replied annoyingly, but before Robb could reply, a growl emitted from the darkness.

The three Starks stood in silence, their eyes peering into the darkness, and then a large shape rushed through the darkness. Sansa yelped, "What was that?" as she backed away slowly. Robb stood dumbfounded as he stared into the darkness, squinting slightly as he saw that same shape rush by again closer to them. Then padded footsteps sounded in the crypts, slowly approaching their position. Then in the void, appeared two glowing orbs; which appeared like two gold coins that someone held up. The figure started at a slow walk before shifting into a gallop as the footsteps quicken. Robb then realized that the approaching figure wasn't Jon, fear eclipsed him, "We got to go now!" as he grabbed Arya's hand running quickly.

"What do you mean what's going on?" Arya asked as she was being dragged along with Sansa following suit. The figure was picking up speed, its footsteps getting louder and louder as low growls came from it. As Robb looked back, he could see it still following them, its eyes closer and clearer than before; its irises had a red tinge to them, akin to a predator like a wolf or a bear. As they hurried along, the footsteps seem to halt all of a sudden; Robb then came to an abrupt stop. As Arya and Sansa tried to catch their breath, Robb scanned the surroundings to ensure that they were in the clear. "Okay spill, why did you take us here?" Arya said as she hit Robb on his side, before he can answer a growl emitted from the darkness once more.

Slow footsteps approached them, and the three Starks watched in horror as it revealed itself. The illumination of the torch showed the silhouette of a large creature; it looked emaciated, its bones showing through its skin that was covered in black wet matted fur. As it stepped further into the light, the creature was unveiled; it had the resemblance of a wolf but was much larger with long elongated ears, and eyes that glowed eerily yellow with red-colored irises. What came as a shock was when it stood on its hind legs, coming to at least seven feet in height. From there they saw the mouth contained sharp canines, some broken or missing. The beast would then emit a low growl, snarling before emitting a bellowing roar "RAAAAAWWWWRRRRR".

The Stark children screamed as fear coursed through their veins as they tried to run, but Sansa was not as lucky as the beast grabbed her leg. She fell with Bran in hand, as the beast closed in when suddenly; Jon came rushing out and jumped on the beast. Using the drape he covered the beast's face, attempting to make a knot, "Robb, Arya, Sansa run! Call for help!" Jon called out riding the beast; who attempted to shake Jon off. Robb regained his bearings and he helped his siblings up, taking Bran in his arms he was about to rush off until the beast grabbed Jon and threw him against the wall knocking him out. "Jon!" Arya called out, "Robb, Sansa get help, I'll distract it" Robb was about to argue against it until the beast tore off the drape that blinded its sight. It stared at the unconscious Jon, as it slowly crept towards him until a flying rock hit its head hard.

It turned its head, staring at the children, anger written on its face as it huffed angrily. "Robb, Sansa quit being stupid and run!" Arya shouted as she prepared a few rocks. Robb took Bran and Sansa, and the three of them ran in tow. Arya threw several rocks; two of them missing and the third hitting the beast directly on the head. The beast growled as it dodged the next few rocks before standing before Arya. Arya stood defiant, refusing to look weak in front of the monster as she readied to hit the beast in the face with a rock in hand. The beast swiped Arya aside; she landed hard on her back, coughing forcefully as she blacked out. The beast then sniffed the air as it turned its head, snarling as it galloped after the others.

Robb was sprinting like the wind as he could see the entrance of the crypt approaching them. "Come on! Sansa we're almost there…" Robb halted in his tracks when the beast landed suddenly in front of them. It let a bellowing roar as a demonic grin appeared on its face. Robb handed Bran back to Sansa, tightening his grip on the torch, "Stay back you monster!" He swung the torch wildly, the beast stepping back slightly as it avoided the flames. Robb would then thrust the flame forward, burning a bit of its nose. It screeches in pain, as it clutches its muzzle, shaking its head as it steps further into the shadows. The beast recovers as Robb and Sansa could see the singed hair, and red skin blistering on the muzzle.

A low snarl escapes its mouth, it bares its teeth as it lunged forward knocking away the torch in Robb's hand. It grabbed Robb by the throat before picking him up and slamming him hard on the wall. It dropped him, his body slumping down as a simple blood trickled down from his forehead. Bran cried loudly, as Sansa tried to think of an escape plan. Her eyes darted back from Robb and the entrance, the beast watching her intently if she would flinch. Sansa made a mad dash as she tried to get by the beast; unfortunately, she didn't make it far as the beast grabbed her leg.

As she fell, Bran fell from her arm as he rolled onto the floor. He let out a wail as he tried to crawl away slowly. Sansa was flipped onto her back as she came face to face with the beast. It sniffed her hair for a moment, its tongue slithering out of its mouth as it eyed its prey. Sansa tried to free herself from its grasp but it was futile as the beast's strength kept her stationary. Its mouth would open slightly, drops of saliva falling onto Sansa's face, "Please no…" Tears streamed down her face as she struggled until the beast's jaw clamped down onto her right shoulder.

Sansa screamed, as white-hot pain shot through her body, its teeth sinking through her skin and hitting bone. The beast would promptly pick her up, as it shook her vigorously. It slammed her back down before releasing its grip, blood staining its mouth as droplets fell from the open maw. Sansa was trembling; the pain she was feeling was indescribable as the blood seeped through the dress she was wearing.

Her eyes were getting blurry, as the pain was starting to get to her. The beast opened its maw, preparing to finish off Sansa. However, a small rock hit the side of the beast's head; it stopped shortly before looking up. Out of the corner of her eye, Sansa saw a blurry person, who she thought was Arya with a rock in her hand. Sansa tried to call out to Arya, but the words never came to her mouth.

The beast was about to change targets until an arrow whizzed past its face. Then multiple arrows flew, several piercing the beast's back. The beast roared in pain as it saw multiple men with torches in hand approaching his position. The beast snarled, as ducked and dodged the projectiles, fleeing into the darkness of the crypts. Arya came to her side, tears staining her cheeks as she shook Sansa slightly. Sansa turned to face her, bringing a hand to her cheek to comfort her. She could hear what she thought was her father shouting orders to the men as several men rushed into the darkness, after the beast. Some of the men went to check on Robb as she saw her father pick up Bran. The last thing Sansa could remember was seeing the silhouette of her father approaching her before her eyes fluttered closed, the darkness claiming her.
