"What's up, PokeManiacs? Josh's here, and today we are going to host another challenge between me and my friends. Say hello guys. Starting with Mikey from MandJTV." A boy who wore a blue and white sports jacket, with a dark blue uniform with some lighting symbols on the shirt and his channel logo on the back of his jacket. A nine tails silhouette with Pokeball as a soccer ball named GG under it.
"Hello, Pokéfans." Said the boy who wore a black t-shirt a black and yellow cap and glasses. "Michael here, and I have to say that's great to be part of the stream to create content for our channels while you are in the middle of an ocean cruise, Josh."
"Oh please Mikey, again with this? It's a trip to Hawaii like any other day. And I've gone to cruise at least once per year with all the work I made through the videos." Josh scoffed while Michael forced his smile. "And I'm always lazy when it's about editing videos, that's why I like to let you all edit your videos while we play. I act like everything is natural in my Twitch streams. Anyways, say hello John."
"Hello, guys." Said the short blond boy who has a simple blouse of grey as he looked happy to be in the video. "John from PokeMEN7 and now I'm sure that we can agree that I will be the winner of this challenge once again."
"Please, last time it didn't count since you got lots of luck." Michael rolled his eyes, while he looked grumpily at the player who was snickering at that time. As he moved his mouse to make a good close on his camera. "This time I will be watching you like a Staraptor."
"Well, then you don't have to worry too much about John, since Staraptor isn't the best flying type Pokemon." Josh smiled as Mikey looked at him, one of his eyebrows raised.
"What do you mean he isn't the best flying pokémon? Which one would it be?" Mikey questioned as both pokétubers snickered at him.
"Seriously? You, as the leader of team sky, don't know?" Both John and Josh said in unison, making Michael's eyes go wide open, and smile sheepishly.
"Oh, yeah... Okay, John, I will be watching you... LIKE A RAYQUAZA FROM MY TEAM SKY! And if you break the rules, the sky itself will strike you down." Michael composed himself and decided to act like his pokémon trainer version, making the other players smile at his reaction.
"That's better, now Yong, from Young Yong tales, say hello dude. It's nice to finally have you here." The Galar-dressed Poketuber said as he looked at the corner of his own computer, as he saw the video cameras from his friends, 2 of them were using the camera, while the last one was using an animation recorder.
"Alright, before we begin. I need to tell you that I wasn't actually aware that we are going to make a live stream over here." Said an animated square boy who seemed to just show a bit of animation of tofu with arms and legs. "I don't know why you called me, but thanks for letting me be part."
"Oh shut up Yong, your bug nuzlocke was amazing, you need to be part of this." Josh smiled at the camera as he showed the video link of the animated YouTuber on the stream, the cape of the animated Yong using Centiskorch to fight was indeed an appeal for all the Pokemon fans. "Now that you are one of us, I want you to be part of the game. But now let's focus on the challenge. Hey John, you can start introducing and using the video for your channel. Just edit the best scenes."
"You got it." The blonde boy smiled as he prepared himself to make his introduction for his video on youtube. "MandJTV, Young Yong, Pokeleonidas, and I are going to be playing Pokemon Sword and Shield and we have 6 random Pokemon to capture into the entire Galar Region in one hour. Then we will calculate the total stats from our pokémon, the one who has the most stat points wins the game."
"Okay, sounds easy enough." Yong said as his animation sprite shrugged.
"Wait, hold on. You didn't know the rules?" Mikey raised his eyes as both other pokétubers snickered from his reaction.
"No, Joshua said that he would make sure to create more content, like making someone freak out and recording their reaction." Yong snickered as the others started laughing at the boy, whose eyebrows were twitching from annoyance.
"Ohhh... I really fell for that one." Michael rolled his eyes while feeling annoyed, but at least the worst was over. "At least you guys didn't use operation pudding."
The snickering became laughs, annoying Mikey even more, who grunted in displeasure. It became worse than he expected.
"Alright, let's start the challenge! 3, 2, 1... and GO." The blond boy said as he proceeded to move his trainer over the field, as all the other players moved their own trainers and started talking.
.
.
.
As the camera showed the faces of all the players, and their characters crossing the entire Galar region to capture Pokemon with their pokeballs, Josh smiled widely as he proceeded to catch his first pokémon.
"Okay this time is gonna be really hard." Josh used his premier ball to capture one of his pokémon. "I bet that the first Pokemon John will have an encounter with is a Heracross."
"No, I found a Wumple and a Roggenrola." John said in a defeated tone as the screen showed his Pokemon fighting a little Wumple who seemed to be pleased to be found by his opponent.
"Hahahahaha." Michael, Josh, and Yong laugh out loud at the deception of the trainer who didn't actually find something cool to show.
"NOOOOOO, it's a Jigglypuff. I don't know how I managed that, but she just jumped on me." Mikey groaned as the other Poketubers laughed from such a confession. "I would find it more acceptable if it was a Miltank."
"Poor Mikey," Yong said as he looked at his screen and managed to find a Kyogre. "Okay, now I can finally start playing seriously. My fellas, I wish I could say that it would be a good game, but it's time to get serious. Game on!"
"Ohhhhhh... Someone is getting fired up over there!" Josh accepted the provocation as Yong managed to use an ultra ball to capture the legendary water Pokemon.
"Yes." He hissed his victory. "Now that the Pokemon was captured, I can name it Subscribe."
"Oh, good idea. Guys, please subscribe to our channels to make more good content. And leave your like on all the channels, and please follow Josh's stream as we play together for more fun challenges!" John used the opportunity to warn all the Pokefans who watch their videos to leave their like to help them to improve their channel. Which would lead to many good talks like that.
Thunderclap
"Woah." John said as the sound came from Josh's microphone, which was indeed loud, surprising all the Poketubers on the stream. "That was a loud one."
"Yeah, I didn't know it was going to rain. Well, let's continue." Josh shrugged off while he continued to play.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Michael said as he looked at the Pokemon he was about to capture, which made Joshua scoff from his reaction.
"I'm fine. The equipment isn't connected to the power plug and I have some backup power chargers. I wouldn't be stupid to connect something like that in the middle of the pacific ocean with thunder roaring in the sky." Josh said as he waved his hand in a chill, as he proceeded to find his other Pokemon. "Okay, let's see what we have here."
.
.
.
A few minutes later the sound of rain was being heard from Joshua's microphone, which he configured to make it not disturb the stream, as he found his fourth pokémon.
"So Josh, what are your plans after you stop in Hawaii?" Michael asked as he found another good Pokemon for his team, giving a wink to his watchers, who managed to see him capturing another legendary Pokemon.
"Well, not much. Just go to a few places, go to some beaches, imagine myself in Alola as I try to explore the entire place and then go back home. I actually came here because of the cruise. It's a good way to enjoy your trip. After an entire year of making streams, I think that's a good way to show my vacations and my appreciation to all my fans who managed to help me to raise my deserved vacations. Guys this is for you." Josh smiled happily as he continued to take a good close to the cruise room, which showed a dark sky in the air as the rain was falling from the sky, it looked both terrifying but at the same time beautiful. A tempest in the middle of the ocean.
"Wow Josh, it indeed looks scary there. Are you sure that's okay for you to make a stream while a tempest is happening besides you?" Yong's avatar was sweating as he looked at the Pokemon streamer and at the sky again but chilled again.
"Well dude, my computer is safe and my equipment as well. I just hope a Zapdos doesn't actually appear here to make a huge thunder on the oceans. I would be screwed if that were to happen." Josh joked again, as both YouTubers laughed nervously at him, but in part of them looked actually concerned about it.
"Usually I wouldn't like to be on a cruise in the middle of the ocean. Josh, are you sure that you are okay?" John asked as Josh rolled his eyes impatiently.
"Guys. I'm telling you. I'm okay. What are you going to do? Tell my parents? Pfft... good luck with that, they don't care about me even since I decided to be a Pokemon streamer instead of a lawyer, and they are angry that even after I was disowned by them I still make a lot of money by doing what I love which is make content for my fans and play pokémon all the time." Josh got annoyed by the fact the others would say about him risking his safety, which he always did in the past.
He always tried his best to be careful, he always stood away from the windows during the rain, and constantly made sure that his energy plugs were out, his internet plan was by satellite and would have a signal, even in the middle of a desert. He always wanted to be aware that it's better to be safe than sorry. "Actually I'm even going to make 12 hours of stream tomorrow. Another Nuzlocke of Pokemon Fire Red."
The way that Josh looked calm, even in situations like that, made both Michael, John, and Yong look at the streamer in relief, he seems to actually know what he was doing.
Thunderclap
Another loud thunderclap made all of the players surprised. Even Josh, who was actually tranquil, felt a bit of concern about that thunder.
"Okay, maybe it would be for the best if we focus on the game quickly, and then I will turn off all the equipment. Because this is absurdly loud." Josh finally showed a bit of concern, as the sound of the rain became even louder from his microphone, making him adjust the volume once again.
.
.
.
"Oh come on I DON'T HAVE A MOVE THAT I COULD HIT THE RIVA'S FREAKING GHOST POKEMON!" John said aloud as the other boys started chuckling. "Well, and how is up to you Mikey?"
"Well I was going to OHHHHH MARSHADOW!" Mikey shouted happily as not just to John's frustration but the migraine of both Josh and Yong.
"What do you mean?" John asked in disbelief as he tried to move his Pokemon player around the camp and get in contact with a new Pokemon, a Raichu.
"MY EARS!" Both Yong and Josh shouted angrily.
"Sorry, it's because now I'm one step ahead of you guys with this legendary Pokemon." Mikey smiled as his glasses sparkled with a light of determination on it. "Go pokeball go."
As all the players moved around to try to find their Pokemon, Josh remained on his spot to open a sack of snacks and start to eat.
"Yes." Mikey cheered, as both John groaned and Yong remained focused on the game.
"So we know that this game is already 45 minutes guys, but I have to ask, which Pokemon do you have so far?" Yong said as he showed a shared screen for Josh to see while he was eating. Which made his eyes open wide in surprise.
"I have an Obstagoon, a Gardevoir, Haxorus, a Kyogre, and a Dialga."
"Damn. What team is it?" Josh said surprised as the other Poketubers looked surprised by such a team.
"What? Where did you find a Dialga?" John said as he looked at his own team, who seemed to be a great team with a freaking Typhlosion, a Regirock, and a Magneton.
"Well, it seems he will be the first to finish the game. You need to be careful to use what pokémon you will have a the end since, in the end, we will calculate." Mikey said as he added to his team the Marshadow with his Salamence, a Deoxys, and a Tyranitar.
"Well, guys I don't know about you, but my team is already done." Josh smiled as he captured his last Pokemon.
"Wait, already?" John said in disbelief, as the others looked surprised.
"Yeah, but I thought legendaries didn't count, so I screwed up. Hahaha.'' Josh laughed as the others followed his decisions. "Well, my team is pretty much decided: I have a Garchomp, a Krookodile, a Dragapult, Kommo-o, a Togekiss, and a Frostmoth."
The silence over the stream remained as suddenly both trio of YouTubers shouted in disbelief.
"THERE IS NO WAY YOU GOT 3 PSEUDO-LEGENDARY POKEMON!?" Yong, John, and Mikey shouted in unison, making Josh's ears ring from the sudden reaction.
"Ouch, why are you being so angry, they will not win against a legendary status." Josh scoffed as the others glared as they played around to take their final Pokemon to win against the player who finished his part. "Anyway, now that I have free time. It's best to use my time to..."
Thunderclap
The roaring from the thunder once again made all the Poketubers look at each other, making Josh exhale in sadness.
"Maybe it's for the best if I wait here and wait until you guys are done, and I will turn my notebook off and play my Pokemon Ultra Sun until the storm is over, I wouldn't want to stay somewhere else than the bed at this moment," Josh said as he proceeds to look at these friends, who seemed to nod their heads to him.
"Good call, it's best to hurry too. The earlier we finish this, the sooner he can finish his stream and talk to us another day." John said as he quickly used his Pokemon to capture a good legendary Pokemon.
"While I appreciate you are worried about your safety, are you not satisfied to show in our faces that you finished the challenge, but now you want to say you are so bored that you are going to play another generation?" Mikey asked in disbelief...
"Yeah, pretty much." Josh shrugged himself, as Mikey felt his self-esteem drop a few notches.
"Oh... Okay… so Josh." Mikey said as all the pokétubers focused on their gameplay. "Heard you are almost finishing your Pokemon nuzlocke of Ultra Sun."
"Yep, soon after all the trials are over, I can finally finish that generation and move on to another nuzlocke." Joshua nodded as he walked around and almost got an encounter with a Wailord. But the way he sounded as he commented on it made the other Poketubers raise their eyebrows at him.
But before anyone could say something, a powerful impact sound was heard at the stream of Joshua who was sitting.
"WOOOOOOOOOA." Josh fell from his chair, as the room started moving.
"Josh!" The group said in unison alarmed by the sudden impact of the streamer who was on the floor.
"Josh, are you okay!?" Yong, who was doing the animation, looked at the screen of the player who actually fell from his chair.
"I'm fine, don't need to worry." The boy managed to get up from his place, but the movements around the room looked even more unstable. "Oh crap. Sugar bucket."
"What's going on Josh?" John looked concerned as he stopped playing and looked at the stream screen in concern.
"It's fine guys, just the waves hitting the cruise, and the breeze being strong enough to open the window. I will close it... OHHHHHHHHHHH CRAP!" The scream was enough to call their attention to the Poketubers, before the sound of impact was enough to make the entire room shake, and inclined to a view of water bursting through the window, and the force of waves creating more and more impacts.
"JOSH!" All the YouTubers and the chat watchers screamed his name as the chat box was in huge chaos.
The water passed through at maximum speed, as the boy was on the floor, wet from the seawater flowing into the room. And his face was bruised from the impact on the floor. He looked at the view of what would be the end of the world, the giant waves approaching and hitting the cruise with such force, he could hear the screams of the other passengers in fear and in despair of such hits. Implying one single thing... The ship was about to capsize. The impact was enough to make the bed at the corner of the room move, as little by little he felt the inclination of the cruise he was on. The boat that was supposed to be strong even in the most terrible events was inclining, and his worst fear would happen... The boat would be upside down.
He looked at the notebook as he saw it almost at the corner of the table, he proceed to carry it with him... And looking closely at the messages of worried and scared people, he looked at the window once again.
"Hehe..." The laugh sounded nervous but a few tears appeared on his face. He proceed to get to his playlist, he muted the headphones, so as to not hear the cries of his friends. Who sounded so despaired. He took the air phones and let the microphone of his webcam activate. "Hey, guys... I know that you may be worried... But... it's alright, things happen all the time..."
As he used the time to add one of the most iconic sad songs from the entire Pokemon game, which made all the users watching go into a panic.
The messages with capslock screaming NO, his name, and his emoticons applying at the moment, Joshua ignored that moment.
"PLEASE, Just hear me out okay?" Josh closed his eyes, as he saw the faces of his friend muted as they shout trying to catch his attention. "I don't regret the life I chose, the friends I made, all the adventures I did with you guys, the impossible challenges which made such a risk worth it. I used all the money I received from the donations to explore around the world, and all the countries I went to, it was because of you guys... Thank you... I love you all, for all the support and friendly messages and good critics who helped me to survive and thrive even in my worst days."
As he placed the notebook on the corner of the table. He walked to the front of the door of his room. And watched giant waves ready to crash against the cruise once again.
"My name is Joshua Leonidas Angelo, and from all the life I had, I'm grateful for everything that happened to me because of them... If you want my death, COME ON AND GET ME! I've been playing Pokemon all my life. I've become the champion of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Alola, and Galar. If it's a Surf who is going to kill me, then it's better to be from Kyogre itself to destroy this entire ship... I'M READY TO DIE, SO BRING IT ON!"
That declaration was his final message through the world, as the impacts of 3 waves were enough to impact and launch him through the wall knocking him out as the entire boat went upside down, and all the water through the windows crossed through the room. By that ending the stream with all his friends and fans shouting his name... before losing the connection.
The dark and uncomfortable pressure inside his chest made Josh open his eyes but with huge discomfort since his view was distorted by all the water around him. The pain of saltwater in his eyes made him wait a few seconds to adjust to his view. As he looked, all his room was destroyed by the water, as the extern part of his room showed a big hole, making him look around and see something he didn't believe... He survived, but soon, the bubbles of his air showed that it wasn't the right answer, as he felt all the air being taken from him.
Despaired to try to leave, he saw that part of his leg was stuck through the wires of his own equipment. As his own equipment was wet and shut down. It seems that now he was going to die in such an ironic way. Tears left his eyes, unseen underwater as he soon became disturbed and felt that something was in front of him, something he believed was a figment of his imagination...
As a giant creature appeared in front of the hole which was his room, it was big enough to be trice the size of his room, but not large enough to be the size of the cruise.
The white scales and the black eyes were from a beautiful creature that Josh couldn't actually recognize, but something inside of him just made him say his last words...
"Lugia..." As the final bubbles appeared in front of him, his eyes went wide open, as he saw the creature waves its big arms and with a powerful wave, he felt a powerful wind, capable to create such a fantastic wave, and his body was dragged like a bullet, not just alone, but with his own suitcase and equipment, his eyes closed, as he heard the powerful cry from the creature as he felt the powerful wave pushing his body, moving like nothing could stop him.
Before everything went black again.
