Hi, everyone so if you are reading this then I have officially started a new story. No, I have not given up on my Naruto story, I have had severe writers block and work has not allowed me to continue writing. That said it will be rewrote and updated so be on look out. On that note I have made a p rateon, so if you wish to support just look up fighteroffates. That said lets begin
A small island, in the East Blue, was having a grand ruckus with the arrival with infamous pirate group. The Red pirates were currently sitting in the bar of Makino, enjoying and acting merrily with the locals, including a 7 year old boy who goes by the name Luffy. "Shank's when are you gonna let me go out to sea with you?" Luffy asked the red haired captain of the said pirates.
"Hahaha, how can we let someone who can't even swim. You are too young and too weak to go out yet." Shanks just responded while grabbing his sake.
"What I am at the age where I could apply to be the marines, and my punches are as strong as pistols." Luffy complained.
"Well, if you want to go out to sea then ask your grandfather. Now drink your juice and eat your food so you can become stronger." Shanks gave Luffy his cup, which he proceeded to laugh as he saw Luffy start drinking his juice. "Hahahaha, no pirate would seen alive drinking juice like a kid!"
"HEY, you tricked me." Luffy shouted as he was pushed a piece of his food into his mouth by Shanks.
"Luffy, the captain is just worried about you. The sea and being a pirate is not a safe life. He is just want you to be prepared for it." Benn Beckman, Shanks' first mate, stated. "If you want I will give you some of my dessert so finish your dinner." As Shanks was with his crew laughing at Luffy's expense.
"Fine.." Luffy grumbled as saw the fruit the that he has been waiting to eat.
As, Luffy was finishing his food, a bandit crew came into the bar, looking smug and disgust at the pirates. "Welcome, I am sorry we do not have room in here for anyone at the moment. We have some alcohol available but we are currently out of others." Makino stated as bandit leader walked in with most of his crew standing outside.
"That is fine, we will just be taking 10 barrels of sake, and we will be out of your hair." Higuma stated as he looked on in disgust.
"Oh, I am terribly sorry. We are currently out of sake. We still have beer and whiskey if you are interested?" Makino stated and she tried to sound calm.
"Well, what are they drinking then huh? What, are they drinking water then?" Higuma started getting angry at the waitress.
"Sorry, mate it looks like we drank all the rest of the sake. If you want I have 2 bottles left if you want it." Shanks offered trying hard to keep the situation from getting worse.
Higuma looked at the pirate for a second, before he pulled his sword out and smashed the bottles in Shanks' hand. "Do, I look like I want your crappy leftovers. I am a man with an 8 million beri bounty. I have both the Marines and the Royal guard of this island after me. Unlike you pirates who hide out at sea, we are battle hardened." Higuma sneered.
"Awh, Makino. It looks like we got glass all over the place. Do you have a broom and dustpan? I will clean it up." Shanks said with a smile on his face.
With a manic grin, Higuma slashed at the table he was sitting at. "If you like cleaning so much, then you can clean that up as well. We will be back and you better have 10 barrels of Sake when we get here." He stated while he walked out the bar with his group.
After the bandits left, the Red Haired pirates started laughing and goofing off again. Meanwhile, Luffy was livid. Not only had they been made fun of, the man had just threatened Makino. "What was that, Shanks!? You guys just let him get away." Luffy yelled finishing his food.
"Luffy, if we fought we would have won but we would have destroyed the bar. We might be stronger but that does mean we always fight." Lucky Roo explained to him as Shanks was finishing cleaning up after the bandits.
"But what happens when they come back? You might not be able to stop them. What happens if they attack Makino because of this?" Luffy complained not knowing he was heard by all in the bar. "Man, if it was grandpa he would have taken care of them."
All the pirates of the Red hair pirates looked down. What would happen when they did come back? Would they actually hurt Makino? Would they hurt Luffy? That to them was unthinkable. Not paying attention to the little boy, the pirates started to plan. They would take care of those bandits tonight so their friends would not have to worry. Unknown to them Luffy had grabbed the fruit that Beckman had with him. All the pirates noticed as Luffy made a noise as he ate the fruit. "Yuck this was the worst dessert that I ever had."
Looking around, Beckman panicked. He looked at Shanks as he started moving to the poor boy. "LUFFY, what did you just eat? Please tell me you did not just eat the fruit that Beckman had on his table!" Shanks freaked out.
"But... he had I can have his dessert. I thought he meant that fruit." Luffy panicked, he had seen Shanks look angry him before.
"Quick! Luffy puke it back up! If you don't you will your grandfather will kill me!" Shanks pleaded.
Unfortunately Luffy had already eaten the entire fruit thus making he pleas pointless. "Why would grandpa be made at you? It was just dessert?" Luffy was scared and confused about why Shanks was asking him an impossible.
"Luffy, you just a devil fruit. You just gained powers, but at the cost of never being able to swim again. You are literally an anchor now." Lucky Roo said making light of the situation.
"WHAT?! How do you I get it out of me?!" Luffy yelled looking at the face his pirate friends were making.
"Too late kid. You are stuck with it for life." Beckmann said taking control of the situation. "Luckily, it is a useful devil fruit so your grandfather might not kill us. Captain we might have to teach Luffy how to use it somewhat before we leave."
Shanks looked at his first mate and then Luffying and sighed, "Yeah, your right he will have to learn how to use it before we get hunted down. Come on Luffy, I need to talk to you."
Getting up following Shanks, Luffy was scared. He felt like he just disappointed his idol with eating the fruit. Following into the forest nearby, Luffy trying to apologize, "Shanks, I am sorry about eating your fruit. If I had known, I wouldn't have eaten it."
Looking at Luffy sad, Shanks felt bad. "Listen, Luffy I am not mad. It is our fault to begin with. If we just kept the fruit on the ship we wouldn't have had this issue." Shank explained smiling and cheering Luffy up. "What, I can do is make sure you are aware of your powers. We are only gonna be around for 2 weeks before Garp shows up. In that time, I want to make sure you are ready for when he shows up."
"Really?! You will train me? Will I be stronger than grandpa?" Luffy was excited. He always got to train with his grandpa but was never able to beat him. It was like he knew what Luffy was gonna do before he did it.
"Well, I can't make you that strong, but I will make you be able to use your devil fruit powers at least." Shanks explained.
"Really what powers do I have anyways?" Luffy looked at Shanks in wonder.
"Well, from what our research showed, and mind you this was hard to do because of the lack of information we were able to get from the government it is the called the Silent Silent fruit. It really doesn't have anything special in the beginning but it can when you grow stronger. Infact it might be considered one of the strongest if you put enough training in it." Shanks explained to him.
"Really!" Luffy said with wonder in his eyes.
"Yep, in fact with it you might even be able to beat me with it one day." Shanks explained. "Now, in the time that we have, I want to train you. It will be tough but I want you to be able to use the fruit before efficently before I leave."
"Let's do it!" Luffy exclaimed.
2 weeks later
For the last 2 weeks Luffy had trained with Shanks for most of the days. First having Luffy first unlock his power on his surrounding areas, silencing himself making it so no sound was heard while he walked, and creating a zone where no sound, movement, or powers could be used. While Luffy got some of this down mainly making himself silent and making an area where no sound escaped, he couldn't quite get the zone where he could silence the very strength of others. That might have been the fact that he was practicing on Shanks, but he was still progressing. While they weren't training his devil fruit Shanks taught Luffy some close hand combat and some of his sword techniques he learned from his friend and rival.
One night 2 days before Shanks and his crew departed, Luffy and him were sitting at Makino's bar before after their training. "You are getting good Luffy. We have a day more what do you want to do tomorrow?" Shanks asked.
"Hmm, I really want to work on my movement. That last thing you showed me was awesome!" Luffy said as he remembered Shanks literally walking on air the day early.
"Oh, you want to learn the air walking technique huh? Well, I can't blame you. By the way Luffy you never told me, why do you want to go to sea?" Shanks asked as he made Luffy put up a sound cancelling barrier.
"Well, I want to go on adventures and see everything out there. I want to make a crew of people that way I can make my dream come true." Luffy said with a smile on his face.
"Oh, and what dream is that?" Shanks asked.
"I want to sail everywhere and see everything." Luffy stated as if it was possible to do everything he wanted to do.
"Well, why be a pirate then? You could do that being anything?" Shanks asked curious.
"Because you guys seem so happy and free. It must be amazing to be like you guys." Luffy dreamily explained.
"Well Luffy, we have an issue then. There are places even pirates can't even go. Trust me, I am hardly accepted in towns because of my status. There are even islands, I can't go near because if I did I would have to fight to just escape." Shanks explained.
"But, then how would I get to those islands if not to be a pirate?" Luffy asked.
"Well, you could be a Marine like your grandpa is wanting you to be. You have to follow some commands but for the most part you are free to go where you want. I am sure your grandpa would allow you to be one of the roaming fighters that the marines have." Shanks explained.
"That sounds amazing, but Shanks then we can't be friends." Luffy complained.
"Hahahaha, who says we can't? Just because marines and pirates don't get along doesn't mean we can't be friends." Shanks explained.
"Really?! I would still be able to be friends with you?" Luffy really questioned again.
"Of course, I mean even your grandfather was friends with the Pirate King before his passing." Shanks explained.
So, for the last 2 days Shanks trained Luffy in the air walking technique showing Luffy how he did it and explaining that in more details how it is done. In a blink of an eye, the time came for Shanks to depart. Saddened, Luffy had his head down as the Red Haired pirated got loaded and ready to go. "Do you really have to leave?" Luffy asked.
"Unfortunately we do. As much as we will love to stay, the ocean is calling us." Shanks explained kneeling to the boy.
"Ok, I will miss you all." Luffy said with a smile and tears in his eyes.
"Oh, you aren't going to ask to come with?" Shanks asked.
"Nah, one I know you wouldn't take me anyways. Second I thought about what you said, your right I wouldn't be able to go on all the adventures I want to if I did join you." Luffy explained.
"Well, you are right on about not letting you on. Why would we need a second anchor when we have a perfectly working one already." Shanks joked with the boy to cheer them both up.
"Hey, I'll show you. I will see the world and become the strongest person in the world so no one will be able to bully you." Luffy stated as if it was gonna be the easiest thing in the world.
"Oh, yeah. Well then here." Shanks smiled as he placed his hat on Luffy's head. "Take care of this hat and when you have seen the world and become strong you can give it back. This will be our promise between men alright?"
Luffy looked up at Shanks' fist out to him. Bumping their fists, "It is a promise Shanks. I will become the strongest person and see the entire world."
"See you soon then, Luffy." Shanks said as he walked onto his ship as they started to set sail.
"Bye, Shanks!" Luffy yelled as the ship departed.
2 weeks have passed since Shanks and his crew departed, Luffy was still doing the training everyday. His grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, was arriving on the island today. Luffy was full of excitement. He had been hoping to talk to him about all the things he learned from Shanks. Luffy's excitement mounted as he saw his grandfather's ship coming into the area.
Garp walked down the plank to the village he had allowed his grandson to come down to. Watching his surrounding the quiet village on the other side of Goa Kingdom. He was surprised when he saw his grandson running up to him. "Grandpa, you will never believe it. A bunch of awesome pirates came into town and Shanks even gave me his hat!" Luffy yelled to him as he approached.
"WHAT?!" Garp yelled as he gave Luffy his fist of love. "You think you are gonna be like him then you are sorely mistaken. You are gonna be a marine you hear me."
"Ow... why did you hit me?" Luffy was confused. He had already decided he was gonna be a marine.
"To get my love and affect to you." Garp stated as if it was obvious.
"But, I wanted to let you know about things." Luffy complained as he used his devil fruit. "See I got a devil fruit and have been training with my wooden sword Shanks got me."
"You ate one of those blasted fruits. Let me guess that pirate gave it to you?" Garp growled out.
"Yep! It is apparently an awesome fruit called the Silent Silent Fruit. Oh, grandpa I found out what I want to do in the future." Luffy stated happily.
"Oh? and what is that brat?" Garp was getting angrier.
"Be a marine so I can go around the world and see everything." Luffy said smiling at the shocked face of his grandpa.
"Well, well, well it is about time you came around." Garp grinned at his grandson. "Well, it is a year too early for me to take you to train, but if you want you can come with me to spend time with another brat I am gonna in charge of."
"Really, can I?!" Luffy was excited, as much as he enjoyed spending time with Makino and everyone, he would enjoy spending time with someone his age.
"Of course. Come on it is time to go see him and I will be here for a week anyways I can train you both in the meantime." Garp said as he walked with Luffy towards the mountains.
Alright I am gonna end it there. I have plans who will be in Luffy's crew and who won't I am gonna be honest, some of the story will be different. Mainly it will have a couple of things that was gonna be different, and we are gonna be missing a couple of crew members, looking at Ussop and Franky. Unfortunately they do not seem like the type that would be marines. Luffy will be as strong as he is at Mermaid Island when he starts so yes it will be an interesting story.
