Knock*

Carrie White was nervous opening the door to see who it was. Her mother was away at a church meeting. She was worried that her longtime childhood bully, Chris Hargensen, and her friends, would be outside ready to torture her again, like what happened in the gym locker room. The knocking became even louder. Carrie felt she was without a choice, opened the door wide. There was no one around except for a little basket sitting on the step.

"Chris, please, don't tell me this is another one of your tricks.",warned Carrie out loud to anyone listening.

She lifted the lid to see what was in the basket. When she opened the basket, and her eyes widened in shock to see what was in there. It was a little baby wrapped in a blanket, already crying.

"Oh, no..you poor thing, what happened? Where did you come from!",exclaimed Carrie.

She quickly picked up the baby. She, also, could see there was a note in the basket. Carrie uses her telekinesis to lift the letter up to see what it said while she hugged the baby close.

"Take good care of her.",was written in the letter.

"What does that mean??, thought Carrie.

The baby is a girl, a little girl left on her doorstep with no mother in sight. Why was this happening? Carrie's thinking was interrupted by the baby's cries. The cries became louder, which alarmed Carrie. She ran back inside the house, closing the door behind her. Carrie started sweating as she was holding the screaming infant in her arms. She had no idea about children or babies. Carrie's neighbors, who have children, wouldn't let her babysit. It had a lot to do with her mother. She hasn't been the best example on how to be a parent and couldn't possibly give the best advice on how to help. This was very scary. Carrie did not have any younger siblings and she is only 17 years old. She was only seventeen and still in high school. There was no way for her to learn how to take care a baby. Carrie tried to shush the baby before she cries became worse.

"Shhhh,shhhh, it's okay,it's okay.",she said.

She put the baby close to her chest and started singing.

Carrie:

Hush,little baby, don't say a word.

Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird.

And if that mocking bird don't sing,

Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring,

The baby stopped crying as she was looking up towards Carrie. Carrie continued to sing. Carrie walked upstairs and into her room, still holding the baby in her arms. By the time she reached her room, she saw the baby had finally calmed down and was asleep.Carrie smiled.

"Sweet dreams, my baby.",she whispered.

Suddenly, from downstairs a door opened and shut,it was her mother,Margaret White.

"CARRRIEEEE,I'M HOMMMMEEEE!",she screamed.

Carrie panicked. If mother comes upstairs and sees her with the baby.. she'll be in so much trouble! She knows she would be thrown in the "prayer closet", or, even worse. She looked back down at the baby. The baby was still asleep . Luckily Margaret's shouting, didn't wake her up. Carrie came up with a plan! Carrie ran to her closet and found a small basket she could use for the baby to sleep in. Then, she went to her drawers to use clothes to make her comfortable for the baby to sleep. She worked quickly to put it together, using her powers. Then, she placed the baby under the clothes for her to sleep. Carrie looks down watching the baby as she snored gently. It made her heart melt.

"Sweet dreams, my sweet Rebecca.",said Carrie.

She kissed Rebecca on the forehead, then hid her under her bed. That way her mother wouldn't see her. Carrie then turned towards the door and went downstairs to greet her mother. This was expected once she came back from her church meeting.
