Hey, everybody. I am here with my second attempt at a Legend of Zelda story.

So, this one is again in the Breath of the Wild timeline. However, no events of Breath of the Wild will happen, as this one explores what would happen if Ganon was sealed away when he first appeared instead of his original victory. Hope you are excited to read such a story. Also, for anyone wondering, no, Astor from the game Age of Calamity will not be in this story. I am not too familiar with him since I haven't played the game, so I don't want to use him and mess up the character.

Also, with Ganon, since we've seen him take multiple forms in the BOTW-time period, I will be designing my own appearance of Ganon. Obviously, I'm not an illustrator, so I won't be able to create an actual picture for you to see, but I will try and paint a picture with my words. I will also say that it's form will look vaguely similar to Calamity Ganon from Age of Calamity, but also much different.

Let's get to it.

Chapter 1

Zelda looks anxiously up towards Death Mountain as she and Link are nearing Castle Town. She and Link have been riding their horses at full gallop towards Castle Town since leaving Lanayru Promenade. She was just hoping they could get there in time to save everyone there.

But Zelda is worried. She can see Vah Rudania up on Death Mountain, and what she can see concerns her. The lights from the Divine Beast are flashing between their usual blue and a bright purple. She had also caught a brief glimpse of Vah Ruta, and saw the same thing. Zelda is fearing that Ganon is trying to seize control of the Divine Beasts. She is trying to remain hopeful, but worries about the success of their efforts if she is right, and if Ganon succeeds in doing so.

Zelda turns her attention back to Link, who is completely focused on the sight of the clouds of Malice swirling around the castle. As she looks at him, once again feeling impressed at how he will rush into any situation without fear, she feels a sense of fear for him. She still has not managed to access her power, and there's a chance that the Divine Beasts may not be on their side anymore. She is afraid what could happen to Link if he insists on fighting Ganon. She's not sure if she could handle if something happened to Link.

However, Zelda forces herself to refocus on the situation at hand as she and Link reach the Mabe Prairie, and they continue riding at full speed towards Castle Town. Zelda tries to put her worry aside, knowing she has other things to worry about. If she cannot use her power to fight Ganon, she has to try and get people out of Castle Town.

But, as they draw closer, Zelda feels as if ice is creeping into her heart as she gets a good look at Castle Town. The town is on fire, and to her horror, she can see several Guardians walking around outside the town, glowing bright purple instead of their usual orange. The Guardians are chasing people trying to escape, firing their lasers at them.

"No! Ganon has taken the Guardians!" Zelda cries out. A moment later, she sees five large columns that have erupted from the ground around the castle. She recognizes these as the columns containing extra stores of Guardians that researchers had searched for. She is now very afraid, realizing that Ganon now has over a thousand Guardians under his control.

Link realizes this as well, but does not change course or slow his horse down. Zelda is frightened, but trusts that Link knows what he is doing, and continues following him. However, only moments later, as they approach the pavilion where the ceremony had been held with the Champions where Zelda blessed Link and designated him as her knight and Hylian Champion, one of the Guardians outside the walls of Castle Town spots them. The Guardian locks in on them and starts scuttling towards them, targeting Link first.

"Zelda! Scatter!" Link orders. Zelda reigns in her horse and turns back the way she just came while Link alters his course. The Guardian fires its laser, but it misses Link.

The Guardian concludes after a second that Zelda is the closer target, and shifts targets to her. Link notices this almost immediately and swings his horse around, spurring it towards Zelda. Zelda doesn't notice at first that she's being targeted. However, when she does, the princess panics and tries to steer her horse away from the advancing Guardian.

Link feels the fear creeping up in him as the Guardian continues to chase Zelda, readying its laser. But he keeps it down as best he can and spurs his horse even faster. Finally, he manages to get close to Zelda. Seeing the Guardian fire its laser at the princess, Link launches himself from his saddle towards Zelda. He tackles the princess out of her saddle, and the two go tumbling to the ground. The laser flies right through the spot Zelda had been a second ago, missing hitting her horse by inches. The horse panics, and gallops as fast as possible away, Link's horse following close behind.

Link wants to try and calm Zelda down and check if she is okay, but knows he can't do so yet. The Guardian is still on their tail. Link springs to his feet and charges towards the Guardian as he draws the Master Sword from its sheath. The Guardian starts to backpedal a bit, targeting Link now. It fires its laser, but Link somersaults to avoid it. He then sprints forward, and with a powerful strike of the Master Sword, destroys one of its legs. The Guardian reels back, and in the process, Link unleashes a flurry of strikes. It doesn't take him too long before the sword breaks through the Guardian's armor, and Link destroys the machine.

Link takes only a second to make sure that the Guardian is finished before he turns around and sprints back towards Zelda. She has pulled herself up onto her knees, but is still shaking a bit from fear. He hurries up to her, and Zelda looks up at him. "You saved me. Thank you, Link," she says in a very harried voice.

"Don't mention it," Link says. He then reaches out to pull her back to her feet, which she accepts. As they stand, Link says, "We still have a job to do. Let's go."

The two turn back towards Castle Town and start running back towards the town. However, they are only nearing the pavilion when suddenly, they see the snake-like phantom of Ganon turn in their direction and soar down towards them. The two stop and backpedal, and the phantom slams into the ground in front of them. But, from there, it doesn't move, and instead turns into a swirling mass of Malice. More Malice around the castle flies in their direction, joining with the cloud before them.

Link and Zelda take a few wary steps back, Link putting himself in front of Zelda protectively. They can see something forming inside the cloud, but cannot make it out.

Then, the two see two bright, orange lights very close to each other amidst the swirling Malice. Then a form begins to move out of the cloud before a loud roar almost deafens them. The two recoil slightly and clap their hands over their eyes. As the roar fades, they look back up, and catch their first real look at Ganon.

Calamity Ganon is a terrifying form. It's massive body is mostly humanoid in form, but is almost entirely made of pure Malice. It also has a number of demon-like characteristics. It's arms look almost scaly and very muscular, and it's hands are somewhat lizard-like, with large claws. It's legs are also very lizard-like, and are much thicker than its arms. Ridges line its chest, and go up and over its shoulders, almost like some kind of armor. Ganon's head is somewhat reminiscent of a dragon, and is covered in flames of Malice. It also seems to have a short tail. On top of all that, it has flaming red hair and a flaming red beard, and a bright glowing orange spot above and between its eyes. The monster also stands a little over 20 feet tall. The beast looks down at them with anger and then roars again.

Link firms his face and steps forward, holding the Master Sword at the ready. Zelda stares at Link in horror and cries out, "Link, no, you can't! He's too strong, and we have no help! You'll die!"

Link looks back at Zelda for a moment, an emotion she can't quite read crossing his face before being replaced with confidence and determination. Link then turns back towards Ganon, and with a fierce war cry, charges towards the demon. Ganon roars in challenge, and the fierce battle between Link and Ganon begins.

Mipha leaps up to avoid the spiky ball of ice that Waterblight Ganon is trying to crush her with. Mipha had been fighting with everything she had to defeat Waterblight Ganon. She had wounded it, but it had also worn her down somewhat. She knows she has to finish the fight quickly, or she could lose her life.

Mipha decides that its time to use everything she has. She ducks under the spear of Waterblight Ganon and throws her trident at it, hitting it in the head. As Waterblight Ganon reels back, Mipha sues her magic to summon up the water around them, using the water to bring the trident back to her. She then uses all of her magical power to bring up a huge wall of water, heading towards Waterblight Ganon. Mipha then jumps into the water, swimming through it towards Waterblight Ganon. The beast tries to use its ice magic to freeze the water, but it's too slow. Mipha bursts out of the water, right towards its head. She swings her trident at its head, striking Waterblight Ganon and knocking it back a bit. She then plants the shaft of the trident against its body and launches herself upwards before she turns the trident around and drives it as hard as she can into its eye as she comes down.

Waterblight Ganon lets out a screech as it falls down to the ground, hitting hard as Mipha holds the trident firm and continues driving it down into its eye. Then, after several seconds of loud screeching, Malice begins to flow out of Waterblight Ganon. After a few seconds, its body explodes.

Mipha stands there, staring at the spot where the beast had been a moment earlier. It takes her a few moments to catch her breath and straighten her thoughts. After several long moments, she is able to recover herself, and then she turns her mind back to her main task. "Link. He needs my help," she whispers to herself. She hurries over to the main control unit, knowing she has to act quickly.

Daruk lets out a war cry as he again raises the glowing shield of Daruk's Protection around him. However, this time, Fireblight Ganon's strike is enough to knock him flying back. Daruk is tiring, and cannot stand as well.

Fireblight Ganon summons a fireball and throws it at Daruk. Daruk manages to catch his breath and resorts to rolling himself up and rolling out of the way of the fireball. He then uses the momentum to roll himself up one of the ridges on Rudania's back, gaining some height to get an advantage. Using the momentum still, Daruk springs out, retrieving his massive sword again. He brings the sword down on Fireblight Ganon's head.

Fireblight Ganon is knocked down to the ground. Daruk falls to the ground and lands beside it. Holding his sword with both hands, Daruk begins spinning himself around, striking Fireblight Ganon in the side multiple times before jumping up slightly and using the momentum of his spinning to slam his sword down with even greater force onto Fireblight Ganon's head.

As soon as the massive sword strikes its head, the beast lets out a long, loud screech. After a moment, Malice begins pouring out of it before its body explodes in a burst of purple energy.

Daruk stands there for a second before he laughs loudly and says, "Take that, monster. You should've known better than to think you could kill Daruk." He pauses for a second before he says, "Alright. Let's get into position. The little guy is gonna need us."

Revali swerves in the air to avoid a blast from Windblight Ganon. The beast then summons a fierce whirlwind. But Revali is not about to be beaten so easily. Revali dives into the whirlwind. Despite the fierce wind, he manages to hold his course, bursting out of the whirlwind moments later. He then draws three shock arrows and fires them right at Windblight Ganon's head. The beast shrieks a bit and recoils. However, it fires off a series of blasts at Revali. Revali tries to dodge, but one manages to graze him.

Revali grunts a bit as he flies around to take shelter behind a pillar for a brief second. He's been fighting this monster for some time. Although he's landed a number of solid hits on it, he's taken some wounds himself. He knows he has to finish this quickly, or he will lose.

Then, he gets an idea, and smiles to himself. He flies back out into full view and fires two quick volleys of arrows. However, Windblight Ganon uses a burst of wind to deflect them. Revali flies right towards the monster, which fires at him, but Revali easily dodges them. He then draws and fires a volley of bomb arrows. Windblight Ganon summons a pair of small tornadoes in the path of the bomb arrows. Revali fires a second volley, but these arrows are also caught up in the tornadoes.

Revali then implements his idea. Planting himself against one of the pillars, he begins using his special ability, whipping up an updraft. But wth his positioning, he is able to direct it sideways instead of straight up. This wind pushes back against the tornadoes, pushing them back towards Windblight Ganon. As Windblight Ganon uses its power to vanish the tornadoes, the bomb arrows fall to the ground and explode, sending up a cloud of smoke. Revali then uses this cover to fly upwards, getting above Windblight Ganon.

"Some payback is in order!" he growls before releasing a volley of bomb arrows. The arrow strike Windblight Ganon in the head, and daze the beast. Revali, not about to let the beats have a respite, takes careful aim towards its eye and fires a volley of regular arrows. One of the arrows hits it directly in the eye, and the beast falls onto its back.

"Now time for revenge!" Revali cheers to himself before rapid firing three volleys of bomb arrows down at Windblight Ganon. The bomb arrows pummel the beast, blasting away at it again and again.

Finally, in the aftermath of the last volley, Revali sees Windblight Ganon raising its cannon, trying to fire at him one last time. With lightning reflexes, Revali draws one more volley of bomb arrows and fires them right into the cannon.

Windblight Ganon lets out a terrifying screech. Then, to Revali's great satisfaction, Malice begins to pour out of its body before it explodes in a burst of purple light.

Revali chuckles to himself as he flies gently down to the ground, landing in front of the main control unit. "You never stood a chance," he says to his vanquished opponent. He then turns to the control unit and says, "Now, let's show off your true divine power, Medoh."

Urbosa grunts as she deflects another blow from Thunderblight Ganon. It dashes around to her other side, but she manages to deflect it as well. She leaps back, avoiding another strike from Thunderblight Ganon. The beast then dashes back a bit to gather itself again.

Urbosa takes some very deep breaths, trying to regain her breath to ready herself for their next clash. She has managed to land a few small hits on Thunderblight Ganon, but she is tiring. She know she cannot last much longer if she cannot turn the tables.

Urbosa looks ahead at the beast, firming her face. "Alright. Time to end this," she mutters to herself, determined to end it now. She has to finish this, and help save Hyrule for her little bird.

Urbosa charges towards Thunderblight Ganon, a plan already forming in her mind. The beast dashes towards her, but she blocks its first few blows. All the while, Urbosa is concentrating all of her power of lightning. She knows that she will have to hit Thunderblight Ganon hard to really affect it with lightning, and with the power it will take, she will be unable to use it again for some time. She has to use it right at the right moment.

Urbosa manages to block several strikes from Thunderblight Ganon. Then, as Thunderblight Ganon tries a low strike at her legs, she backflips to avoid it and then slashes at its head, striking it and wounding it. The beast screeches and then dashes away to a position above her.

Urbosa looks up, and sees Thunderblight Ganon conjuring up a series of metal rods, their tips sharpened to points. Yes, this is the moment. As Thunderblight Ganon is about to send them down towards her, Urbosa screams out as she snaps her fingers, unleashing all of her power. A massive flurry of lightning erupts in the middle of Vah Naboris, concentrating around Thunderblight Ganon. The lightning strikes the metal rods, which amplifies the lightning all around Thunderblight Ganon. The beast is blasted with lightning from all directions. Thunderblight Ganon screeches relentlessly as it is blasted by lightning. Finally, the lightning ceases, and Thunderblight Ganon falls to the ground, dazed.

Urbosa seizes the chance and charges at Thunderblight Ganon, sure it will recover soon. She races up to its fallen body before attacking it relentlessly. She slashes at its body multiple times, hitting it again and again. Then, right as the monster starts to stir again, Urbosa lets out a loud war cry and slashes her sword down at its head as hard as she can.

Thunderblight Ganon lets out a massive screech as its tumbles away from Urbosa. After a moment, Malice begins to flow out of its body before it explodes.

Urbosa breathes heavily for several moments, trying to recover herself. After several long moments, she finally speaks to herself, "What an opponent. I got a little lucky." She pauses, then says, "Alright. I can rest later. They need my help."

And, we'll end there.

So, I decided to go ahead and end the chapter there because it was already so long. Originally, I intended to write it through Ganon's defeat, but decided against it once it got so long. Next chapter will wrap up the fight with Ganon. It will be posted right after this.

Alright. I hope you enjoyed this first chapter. Please leave a review, follow and favorite this story, and stay tuned for the rest of it.
