Ch32

Laika woke up the next morning to the sound of police at his door. "What the hell?" The less I have to deal with this country the better. Personally this trip was just a waste of time for him. Cross fusion was of no importance to him or his country. We have our brains unlike that mindless fool.

Upon opening the door he was greeted by the sight of a half dozen policemen. "Can I help you?" he asked.

"Lieutenant Laika you are under arrest," the policeman said as they came into the room.

His eyes widened as they entered and forced him against the wall. "What's the meaning of this! I have diplomatic immunity!"

"You are under arrest for assault," The chief said as he was dragged out of the room.

Assault? He didn't have much time to think about it as he was dragged outside his hotel and greeted by the site of an angry mob of people jeering at him

"Child beater!"

"Racist pig!"

"Go back to Sharo if you dislike Japan so much!"

Oh great. He winced at the flashes from the various cameras as he was led to a police car and forced in. It must be that damn brainless brat. He clenched his fists. Don't worry I have diplomatic immunity just be quiet and everything will be smooth. I'll get him back for this.

He stewed in his anger as he was brought to a jail cell. He didn't say a word to any of the policemen except demanding to see a representative of his country. Searchman was taken from him and he was left all alone trying to figure out what could've happened.

Eventually after about a half day in solitary confinement, the door opened. "Lieutenant Laika a representative of your government is here to speak to you," the jailor said.

Finally. His eyes lit up as he got up and was led out of the room. He was brought to a room and froze when he saw the Sharo's Ambassador sitting across the table with a frown on his face.

"Ambassador Zakharov thank you for coming," he said sitting down across from him.

The ambassador folded his arms and brought out a laptop. "You know what you did lieutenant?"

He shook his head. "I do not. The jailors did not let me know and I said nothing."

Ambassador Zakharov's face was stone cold as he showed him a video.

He recognized the announcer Kero on screen. "We bring you a disturbing report from Akihara. A member of the Sharo military assaulted local schoolboy and hero Hikari Netto and made disparaging remarks about our country."

Uh oh. His face remained tense as clips played of him calling Hikari Netto an idiot along with him saying things like Japanese are imbeciles.

"Now this following clip may disturb some people view discretion is advised," Kero said as another clip played of him punching and beating Hikari Netto, the ambassador's face was cold as the video focused on his Netto's screaming.

"It's not what it looks like," he said quickly

The ambassador said nothing as the video continued. "Local hero Commander Beef found the boy. He is here now."

The video showed a man in a fish helmet along with Hikari Netto by his side. "I've known Hikari Netto all my life. He is a local hero who always helps others. When I found him bleeding and in tears I was heart broken. Especially when I found I found out that it was a member of the Sharo diplomatic personnel."

Netto looked down and nodded his face having fake tears on them. "Yeah I was just being nice but insulted me, my dad, and beat me along with calling us Japanese brainless. What's worse this guy is a Nebula agent."

Oh boy. He took a deep breath as the Ambassodor's knuckles turned white. Kero gasped. "Do you have proof of that?"

"I do," Netto said with mock sorrow. "I just sent you the video. H-He worked with darkloids to try and kill me and delete my navis."

Kero then played the video of Searchman fighting with the masked navi in the factory complex. The sound of a gasp from the audience was audible. "Well as you see here everyone Sharo sent a wolf in sheep's clothing to harass our country and our local hero Hikari Netto."

"I-I just wish everyone could see what he truthfully is that way they won't get hurt like," Netto said cleaning his face. "I know Kifune of the net police wants to recruit him but must we suffer his language and his ties with Nebula?'

The ambassador ended the video. Damn brat I should've taught him a lesson. The only reason he didn't hurt him harder was because Searchman was being tortured.

"Lieutenant this boy was a local hero with an influential father," Ambassador Zakharov said coldly. "You just caused an international incident."

"Mr. Ambassador I can explain," he said quickly but the ambassador cut him off with his hand.

"I don't want to hear it. You disgraced our army. How can we face the world when a member of our armed forces is accused of working with Nebula and beats children?" Ambassador Zakharov slammed his fist on the table. "I secured your release on the condition of immediate deportation. Furthermore I received the directive to strip you of your rank and place you under court martial."

His face paled. "No please Mr. Ambassador my record is impeccable." I can't lose everything I worked for. Please not this.

"Too late the sentence was just handed this morning," Ambassador Zakharov said coldly as he pulled up an email and began to read it.

"Lieutenant Laika has disgraced our nation by harming the innocent and working with our enemies. He is hereby stripped of his rank, forfeits three-fourths of his salary, benefits redacted, and six months probation."

He sunk in his chair as if pushed down by a great weight. Normally he wasn't an emotional person but at that moment he wanted to cry. "Please I was just following orders," he said softly his body shaking.

"We couldn't secure your release without a guarantee that you would be punished," Ambassador Zakharov said folding his arms. "That boy has many friends who vouched for him and protested you. Even the Princess of Creamland summoned my counterpart in her country to express her disapproval of your actions and demanded justice implying that an important business deal could weigh on you being punished along with a veiled threat to seize the assets of important political figures."

He slumped in his chair. "Ambassador please talk to General Makarov I follow his orders."

The ambassador shook his head. "The foreign ministry won't hear it. You will be investigated for your ties to Nebula as well. We cannot have our army's reputation tainted by such accusations. You will be deported immediately."

He sank in his chair as policemen entered the room. Damn you Hikari Netto.

Netto folded his arm as he met Kifune and Meijin's eyes. "I'm sorry but I have nothing to apologize for," he said firmly. His dad sat quietly trying to remain calm.

"Netto-kun Laika was a promising recruit with ties to Sharo's military," Kifune said. "With him leaving in such a disgraced manner could jeopardize our relationship with Sharo."

"You saw the video I'm sure the security cameras here can view it," he said. "He repeatedly insulted me and my dad along with all that he works for. He wants to do with us and looks on what we do here. We should try our luck elsewhere if you want allies."

He was a real prick too. He didn't understand why they wanted Laika so much, the guy while strong was a real piece of work, and when he found out he was punished and sent home he was satisfied with what he did.

"I would be more concerned about his dealings with Nebula," he said folding his arms. "How do we know he wasn't here for something else?"

Kifune and Meijin exchanged a look but his father spoke up. "Listen I know you both wanted to recruit Laika but as a father I can't have my son around people who mistreat him like that man did. We should just move on with the recruits we have."

Kifune sighed. "Fine. If we have to work with those people from Sharo again we'll just send Enzan or Shun."

"Misaki is also coming along. I think he can pull off cross fusion soon," Meijin said. "That's four people we have, even without Laika it is enough for now."

He nodded. Misaki-san is coming along. He and Shun continued to help the older Net Savior who was slowly getting the hang of cross fusion. He'll be a great member of the net police I know it.

"Well that concludes everything for today," Kifune said. "With the spread of these darkchips we have to take down these darkloids as fast as possible."

"Don't worry we can do it," he said. "Slur and Rockman are strong and we have friends who can help too."

Kifune nodded. "We will need all the help we can get that's for sure."

As everyone left the room he approached his dad. "Um hey dad can I ask for a favor?"

"Sure what is it?" His dad asked as they walked down the hall alone.

He scratched his head. "I uh was wondering if I could have another synchro chip."

"You want another one?" His father asked. "What's wrong with the one you have?"

"Nothing," he said quickly. "It's just that I want to have another one just in case I need it."

"I see," his father said scratching his head. "Well we have enough just make sure you don't lose it ok? We don't have a lot of them."

He smiled at his dad. "Thanks. I won't lose it I promise."

"I know Kifune-san is a little tough with you at times but he has the best interests," His father said as they entered the lab. "I know Slur is a good navi, keep her safe."

He nodded. "Yeah well that Laika guy was a jerk to me and well he hurt me enough so I'm not sad that he got deported. He was a jerk and assaulted me."

"I'm sorry it happened it that way," his dad sighed. His father gave him a small smile. "I appreciate you standing up for me though."

He smiled at him. "Of course I would stand up for you, you are my dad."

His dad nodded and went over to where the remaining synchro chips were and took one out and handed it to him. "Keep it safe."

"I will thank you," he said firmly.

"You make me proud Netto," his dad said. "You and your navis do a lot for others I'm glad you have your own little team."

He smiled at his dad, looking into his eyes a pang hit his heart, he wanted to tell him the truth, he knew that Slur was making the effort but they were a team and he couldn't do it right now.

"Thanks," he said looking down at Slur. "Well I better get going now."

"Be safe," his dad said. "I'll try to calm Kifune down about this Laika situation."

He nodded and left the building. "Well that was a relief," he sighed as he walked home.

"It was," Slur said from her PET. "I told you it was possible to get back at him."

He laughed. "Thanks again for recording all of it. I knew Commander Beef and Kero-san would believe me, but it wasn't hard that guy hurt me badly."

"Do you think he'll come after us again?" Rockman asked.

"I don't know," he sighed. "Hopefully he doesn't bother us again, he is a real pain in the ass."

"Reports say he will be deported and punished," Slur said. "But Sharo is a corrupt country we shouldn't get our hopes too high."

He nodded. "True." Rubbing his head he looked up at the sky. "Slur what do you think of Kifune-san and all of this?"

Slur paused for a short moment before answering. "They do have good goals but I can tell they are an organization that wishes to keep an eye on interesting people."

He laughed. "Well that makes me a perfect candidate I guess. I think they want to get close to you, don't worry I trust my dad will help us if they pressure us."

"Your dad seems like a trustworthy individual," Slur said. "I can tell he wishes the best for humanity. But Kifune and Meijin, they both have their own goals that we should be cautious about."

He nodded. "True. Anyway we have the synchro chip, you really think we can modify it?"

"I'm sure we can," Slur said. "With my knowledge and guiding hand along with Shun's help we can make a stronger chip."

A smile spread across his face. "Sounds fun. If we can make improvements on cross fusion then we can help more people." If it can impress Duo even better. "Slur I noticed you talk more with my father."

His navi nodded. "I do, he is a good man."

"Do you think we can include him?" He asked softly.

Slur avoided his gaze. "I know if you feel strongly about this. I'll think about it. I promise."

Slur dodged the sand fist that was thrown at her. Desertman had recently attacked Net City and she along with Rockman and Freezeman were trying to stop him.

My brother. She winced at the memory. Rockman's tortured face was etched on his face. You've been so close to him yet so far.

Dodging another attack she looked at Rockman, no wonder why she thought something was different about him. Such a secret, I've never seen such a thing in my life.

Deseretman sent a torrent of sand at them which nearly sent them flying. "Ice Wall!" Freezeman yelled.

A wall of ice blocked the sand yet Desertman began to pound the wall with his fists. "Come lets work together," She said as the wall began to crack. "Freezeman can you freeze the ground around him?"

Freezeman nodded. "It shouldn't be a problem. Me and Rockman will distract him."

"Good," she said as the wall of ice shattered into a million pieces.

Deseretman roared. "My sand shall devour all of you!"

"Ice Floor!" Freezeman yelled.

The area around Desertman froze. The darkloid screamed in pain as his lower body was covered in ice. Now lets end this. She snapped her fingers and a flurry of spear pierced the darkloid from the ground as Rockman blasted him with his blaster and Freezeman threw a large icicle at him.

Deseretman yelled in pain as a large spear pierced him from the ground. The darkloid screamed in pain as it was logged out.

Her mind was distracted by so many things. When I absorbed the original Rockman I merged him with me. She winced as she gripped her chest. I guess that is why I have been changing.

She didn't know if she should feel angry or break down and cry. Bonds. I never cared for them, yet I cannot deny the feelings I've had and the experiences I've gained.

"Well that was easier than I thought," Rockman said lowering his blaster.

She nodded when she felt a familiar presence approach them. "Get back!" She yelled as she saw a cloaked figure charge at them.

"Earth Breaker!" Forte yelled as he slammed his fist into the ground.

Mad as always. She swore as they all jumped back to avoid the attack.

Forte smirked at them. "It's time we fight and settle who is the strongest."

"Forte! What is he doing here?" Netto asked.

"Don't worry I can handle this," she said summoning a pair of swords. Turning to Forte she smirked at him. "You want to fight? Fine by me."

Forte's fists crackled with energy as he took a step forward. "I defeat you all then no one can stand against me."

"Slur we can help," Rockman said readying his buster while Freezeman summoned another spear.

She sighed. "Fine but be careful, he is a tricky opponent."

Forte smirked at them. "People say you and Rockman are strong. When I'm done with you both I'll be the strongest navi, no human will dare challenge me."

Freezeman and Rockman fired their attacks at Forte who merely summoned a barrier to deflect the attacks.

Forte then lunged at Freezeman and blasted him with Earth Breaker. The ice navi screamed in pain as he fell to the ground clenching his wound.

"Freezeman!" Rockman yelled as fired his blaster at Forte who only laughed.

"Is this the best you humans can do?" Forte glared at Rockman. "I'll take you and Slur down here and now."

"Fire sword slot in!" Netto said.

"Recovery Slot in!" Shun said.

Rockman charged at Forte who only blocked the attack and grabbed him by the throat. "You are weaker than I thought?" Forte frowned and turned to her.

She clenched her swords. "Let him down and you'll find out how strong I am."

Forte only smirked as he choked Rockman. Freezeman called his name but Forte stomped on his chest. "R-Rockman," Freezeman said softly as he gingerly held Rockman's hand.

"F-Freezeman," Rcokman said as he held onto the ice navi.

It was then that both navis glowed brightly. Forte swore as he jumped away from the bright light. Must be another double soul.

When the light dissipated Rockman stood fused with Freezeman in a double soul. He wore blue armor and small ice spikes along his arms and legs.

"Good job," she said stepping next to Rockman. "Lets show Forte what we can do."

Rockman nodded and slammed his hand on the ground. "Ice Tower!"

Forte charged at them dodging and breaking the towers of ice that came at him. "He is strong be careful," she said as her swords met Forte's fists.

Forte grinned at her as they began to exchange blows. This mad dog is quick but won't be easy to delete. Rockman came and joined them with a spear of ice.

She increased her speed and better her precision. Her blades grazed Forte's arms giving Rockman and opportunity to stab Forte in the gut.

Forte swore as he jumped back and was met by her chains which threw him to the ground. "Had enough?"

The rogue navi got up and glared at her. "I'll defeat you here and now."

I could go all out and delete him but he is interesting for now. Why he is obsessed with defeating me and Rockman is beyond my knowledge. But he is entertaining.

"Wide Sword!" A flash of red charge at Forte who blocked it with his hands.

"Blues," Rockman said in shock as the red navi tried to land a hit.

Great more complications. She debated helping the red navi but Blues seemed to have everything under control.

Forte jumped a few feet away. "We'll continue this some other time Slur." The navi then leaped away and ran into the cyberworld.

"Uh thank you Blues," Rockman said.

Blues turned to them and nodded. "My operator was busy but I'm glad to be able to help you both."

Not that we needed it. She nodded. "Thank you for your concern. Come on Rockman lets go."

Later that night she and Rockman were sitting alone in Netto's PC. The blue navi's face was calm as he confided his inner thoughts to her. "Dr. Hikari wants to help the world but he also loves his family more than anything. When one of his children passed away due to a heart condition he used his DNA to make me."

Rockman winced and shook his head. "I was told to never tell him, but it hasn't been easy. I want to help him and protect him, we are family."

She stared at Rockman, and a small flicker of emotion passed through her. "It must be hard to not tell him. Why haven't you told him?"

"I don't know how he will take it," Rockman said softly. "I mean I know he won't be upset but I just don't know."

She was taken aback by Rockman's words. The blue navi was always confident in his relationship with their operator, hearing him say such words shocked her. The way his eyes seemed to water up made something inside of her feel sorry for him.

Slowly she went over and hugged Rockman. She had never done it before, but she could tell that he needed it. The blue navi winced at first but hugged her back. "I'm sure he'll love you as he always has."

"Thank you," Rockman said softly his face reddening. "I've always dreamed of telling him one day, but I'm scared."

She held him tightly. "Don't be. We'll both love you as always."

The two hugged each other tightly in the PC a strange warm sensation spread throughout her body. Emotions. Bonds. I've been learning so much. Looking down at the blue navi she would be a liar if she said she didn't care for him. For at that moment all she wanted to do was make him smile and bring happiness back into his life.
