CHAPTER 4

Elizabeth and Jack left school, taking their basket of books and exercises home for correction. Hand in hand they would go straight to the cafe, they had to tell the news to Abigail and Bill they always hoped for the happiness of the two.

For Jack... well he couldn't fit himself with so much happiness, his world was in this woman, his world... his life was this woman. When God made Elizabeth, he made her for him, and when God made Elizabeth, he made her for her. They were perfect for each other, they completed each other, it was a love that was written in the stars...

For Elizabeth... She knew that Jack completed her, she loved him in a way that she never thought possible; When she came to Hope Valley, a frontier town, to teach, and to do what she wanted most in life and what was her vocation, at this time she would never have imagined that she could love someone in this place. Today she knew she couldn't live without Jack Thorton, he was the air she breathed, her world, her life, the only person she ever thought of marrying and having children, thus forming a beautiful family.

The faces of the two had a smile so big, that it even hurt their facial muscles, they had no way to hide this happiness from the world or the people of Hope Valle and they didn't even want to hide it. They wanted to shout to the four corners of the world that they loved each other.

Arriving at the cafe, when entering, Bill and Abigail, looked at each other... They soon noticed a change in the couple of lovers, that super discreet couple, now they were holding hands for everyone to see and witness their love, in addition Bill noticed that their smile was bigger, the biggest he had ever seen, and Bill's heart swelled with joy, seeing Elizabeth and Jack's happiness. He loved those two like true children, they were very important to him, and he also knew that Abigail was also happy with what she saw, because her eyes for the couple were full of love.

It was when Jack and Elizabeth raised one of their hands, and there was a thin gold ring in Jack's hand and a beautiful ring with a small diamond in her hand, Bill soon recognized from when Tomas asked Charlotte to marry him, it was the ring of Jack's parents. A scream from Abigail and soon the four were celebrating, hugging and congratulating each other. Hope Valle would celebrate a lot, everyone would be honored and very happy with the wedding of their mountie and their dear teacher. That city had a lot of love and gratitude for these two. Abigail still remembered when Elizabeth arrived in town, after an assault on her diligence, she was beautiful but all dirty, without her bags or her money, her hair in total disarray, arriving in town scared and without anyone she knew and faced the mothers who they would like her to turn around and go back to Hamilton, for a princess could not teach coal children. She showed herself, made herself in the city and showed everyone what a Thatcher is made of. It was an honor to be your friend.

That's when Ned came running into the cafe, shouting for Elizabeth and handing her a telegram; when reading, everyone saw his pallor and a tear to flow.

Jack felt his blood run cold, he couldn't stand to see Elizabeth suffer for nothing and clearly something shook her a lot...
