Chapter 11
Over the next few days, I settled back into my normal routine. After the unique experience with Demetri, it felt somewhat strange to return to my regular life. My friends were thrilled for me and my newfound reality, just as they had been when each of them had their own sexual awakenings. While my personality hadn't undergone significant changes, I began to feel the urge to be more open and engage with others, something quite unlike my usual self. Despite these newfound urges, I didn't act on most of them just yet. I found myself wondering where they were coming from, but it was an intriguing development.
My classes were all quite enjoyable, and even gym class wasn't as bad as it had been before. Surprisingly, after the first week back in class, I realized that I couldn't recall any instances of tripping or hurting myself, which had been a daily occurrence in the past.
It was the weekend, and Sandy, Chrissy, and I decided to head to the mall. They wanted to browse for shoes, while I was content with simply getting out and spending time with my friends. Afterward, we planned to grab a bite at the food court.
As we strolled down the seemingly endless row of shops, Chrissy turned to Sandy and me and asked, "How do you think Amber is going to do today?"
Amber, being a member of the school math club, was set to participate in our team's match against Tuson High School's math club. "She's going to kick ass, of course," Sandy declared. "I gave her a bunch of test questions yesterday, and she got every one of them right. I don't know how she does it without a calculator."
"I agree. Win or lose, Amber will do her part. Do you remember what time she said it would be over? We should call when we can and ask her how it went," I suggested. I believed she was a math genius, and her skills would undoubtedly help her get into a top notch college.
"She said she would give us a text when it's over. It's probably going on right now, so we'll probably hear something in a couple of hours," Chrissy added.
During our shopping trip, we visited three stores, and both Chrissy and Sandy tried on shoes. At the third store, Sandy asked me, "Why don't you ever wear heels, Bella? It would make you seem a lot taller."
I couldn't help but laugh. "You really have to ask? You know I'd just fall on my face. Do you want me to have a broken nose or, worse, a broken arm?" I thought about the time I had broken my arm from a fall four years ago, recalling the painful and lengthy recovery.
"Maybe you should give it a shot, Bella. This pair here only has a small lift. They would go well with some of the new dresses you bought," Sandy offered, showing me a pair of shoes with short heels.
I examined the shoes, finding them less intimidating than I'd expected. Picturing myself confidently strolling in them, a smile crept across my face. Perhaps it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to give them a try.
When we reached the food court, I placed my bag with the new shoes down. My friends had convinced me to give heels a chance. I had even tested them in the store, walking around without feeling like I was going to topple over. So, I decided to give them a try and see how they pan out.
Chrissy stayed behind to keep an eye on our purchases while Sandy and I headed to grab some pizza for all of us. While waiting in line, I turned to Sandy and asked, "So, how would you like to celebrate your birthday next week? Turning eighteen is a big milestone."
Sandy was close to a year older than the rest of us, as she was born in that peculiar cutoff period where her parents had the choice to make her either the youngest or oldest in her class. They opted for the latter, a decision I believed was the right call. After all, if they hadn't, we might not have become friends at all.
After pondering it for a moment, Sandy chimed in, "You know what I've always wanted to do but never had the guts? Paintball. I saw this 'Big Bang Theory' episode the other day where the group went out as a team and battled against others. What about that?"
She looked hopeful, awaiting my response. "You really want to give me a gun," I chuckled. "Alright, I'd be down for it, but let me apologize in advance if I accidentally shoot all of you in the back." The more I thought about it, the more exciting it sounded. "You're right; we've never done anything like that. It sounds like a fun experience. Let's go see what Chrissy thinks."
Chrissy needed a bit of cajoling, but eventually, she smiled and said, "Sure." Now, we just had to see if Amber was down. Knowing her, I didn't think it would be an issue. Her father was a big gun enthusiast and enjoyed hunting.
As we savored our slices of Sbarro's pizza, a loud crash echoed through the food court, startling me. I looked up, trying to identify the source, but everything appeared normal.
Sandy and Chrissy continued eating their pizza, seemingly unfazed. "Did you guys hear that?" I asked, puzzled by their lack of reaction. They just stared at me, as if I were crazy.
Later, as we were leaving the mall, we passed by a storefront, and I noticed the front window had completely shattered. Janitors were sweeping up the broken glass. Though it was on the complete other end of the mall from the food court, it made me wonder if that was the loud crash I had heard earlier. The sound was so distinct, and I couldn't fathom why my friends hadn't heard it too.
As we were getting into Sandy's car, Chrissy pulled out her phone. She smiled and said, "Good news, Amber just texted. Our team won."
"Tell her congrats from us too," I quickly added as Chrissy typed away on her phone. I still couldn't figure out how people managed to type messages on their phones so effortlessly. Whenever I tried, I ended up hitting all the wrong letters on the touchscreen.
It was now Tuesday, and I was strolling toward the lunch spot where I usually met my friends when I heard my name being called. I turned around to see Adam, whom I'd known since grammar school, briskly walking toward me.
"Hey Bella, how's it going?" he said, smiling warmly.
"Hey Adam. Pretty good. What's up?" I wondered what he wanted, considering we weren't in any of the same classes this year.
He seemed a bit nervous, shuffling his feet, but after a moment, he mustered the courage to say, "I was wondering if you would like to go out with me sometime? We could see a movie or something."
This was a surprise. I sure wasn't expecting that. I smiled at Adam, feeling my cheeks getting hotter. Did I want to go out with him? He certainly was no Demetri, but I knew I couldn't compare a teenage human boy to an immortal vampire. I knew I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, which I had locked myself in for many years, so with a smile, I happily accepted his invitation.
He beamed, and after a little back and forth, I had a date for Friday night. I waved goodbye as he went off to sit with his friends. Turning back to my table, I walked over, sitting down and exclaimed, "You'll never guess what happened. Adam just asked me out."
All my friends smiled at me, and Amber spoke up, "See, Bella! We told you guys would start asking you out. I think your new clothes are helping a lot. You've been looking a lot hotter since you came back from vacation. I think whatever you and Demetri did made you a lot more confident too. I've noticed you speaking up for yourself a lot more. Keep it up," she said, and Chrissy and Sandy nodded along happily.
I think they were right. My time with Demetri had affected me a lot more than just losing my virginity. He had helped me in many ways. I smiled, thinking about him. I wondered what he was off doing right now. My thoughts drifted into daydreams of him traversing the globe on missions. However, they also veered into him cornering someone in a dark alley and drinking their blood. Weirdly, that mental image got me feeling aroused. I didn't know if that was good or bad, being turned on by thoughts of a murder. Probably bad, but I'd worry about that some other time. Or maybe not at all. After all, I'm going to be a vampire someday. There's nothing wrong if I want to think like one a little early.
Friday came around quickly. As I walked home from school, thoughts of my upcoming date with Adam tonight filled my mind. I couldn't help but wonder how it would go. One thing was certain: my first date with Adam wouldn't be anything like my first meeting with Demetri. I smiled as I reminisced about that unforgettable night. No, with anyone else, I had a feeling it would take a lot of effort for any guy to reach the point where I would consider sleeping with them. Demetri was just special.
Once home, I went to my closet to pick out an outfit for my date tonight. I was feeling a little jumpy, full of energy, and didn't really know what to do with myself. The date wasn't until 8:00, and my mom wouldn't be home for several hours. I decided a nice long shower might do the trick to relax me.
I headed to the bathroom to hop in the shower. As I undressed, I admired my form in the mirror, recalling a really hot memory of Demetri and me fucking right in front of it. He held me up by my legs while behind me as I faced the mirror, and he fucked me so, so good. The sight of him going in and out of me in the mirror was incredibly erotic; it had become one of our favorite places to screw.
Stepping into the shower, I remembered how Demetri had suggested I touch myself to relieve tension. Hmm, I smiled to myself, I think I needed some relief right now, I'm tense. When Demetri had found out I had never masturbated before, he told me I should really start. He even guided me on how to do it on my bed, and though it wasn't as enjoyable as his dick, it still had gotten me off, especially when he watched.
As the water beat down on my head and body, I used the vivid memories of Demetri and some of our more energetic sex acts to help me along. With my left index finger, I began gently rubbing up and down my sensitive folds before slipping it inside me. My breath quickened as I gradually increased the pace of my finger. At the same time, I used my other hand to stimulate my clit, and the sensations started to overwhelm me. My knees grew weak, and the intensity built within me. Moments later, my body jerked with pleasure as I experienced a powerful orgasm. I sank to my knees, surrendering to the overwhelming bliss that washed over me.
I lifted my head and let the water beat down on me for several minutes while I calmed down. Damn, another thing I had been missing out on. I chided myself, thinking, "Stupid Bella, you had heard for years that touching yourself was enjoyable. Why hadn't you listened?"
After the amazing shower, I slipped into the clothes I had picked out. I now felt more relaxed than I had in days, a feeling I hadn't experienced since Demetri had left. It made me realize he had been right about taking care of myself. I thought that adding some self-pleasure could help maintain this sense of calm; in any event, it had been quite enjoyable as well. Feeling centered, I sat down to get some homework out of the way until my mom came home, and we could have dinner together.
After Adam picked me up, we decided to watch the latest Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Marvel movies weren't usually my thing, but I had seen both of its predecessors since my friends wanted to see them. Surprisingly, the movie turned out to be quite enjoyable, and during the film, I found it amusing when Adam tried the classic yawn-and-arm-around-the-shoulder move. I didn't mind his attempt at all. As we shared a large popcorn, our hands brushed against each other occasionally, and I couldn't help but notice the warmth of his skin, something I knew I would need to get used to.
After the date, Adam walked me to my front door. The date was fun, but I didn't feel any true romantic attraction. Still, he seemed nervous and eager to make a move. In an effort to alleviate his anxiety, I leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips. It was okay, and I let him know I had a nice night. Adam's face lit up with a big smile, and he expressed that he had a great time too. With that, we said our goodnights.
As I stepped inside, my mom greeted me with a big smile on her face. "How was your date, dear?" she asked, clearly excited. "I couldn't help but see through the window that you kissed him."
"We had a good time, Mom. Just a fun night at the movies," I replied with a chuckle as I headed to the fridge to grab a water bottle. After coming back to the living room, I added, "Truthfully, I didn't really feel any spark. Well, you know what they say, 'Try, try, again.'"
We both laughed, and I felt comfortable sitting down on the sofa, ready to share more details about the night. It was a new experience for me, being able to chat openly with my mom about my dating life, something we had never done before. While I wouldn't delve into anything too personal or mention Demetri, I had no problem discussing a simple and innocent first date with a human.
It was Sunday when I started to get a bad headache. I was in the middle of writing an essay on "The Great Gatsby," a book I had read several times before. The headache behind my eyes was quite annoying, so I decided to turn in early after taking some Excedrin. When I woke up on Monday morning to the sound of my alarm, I opened my eyes, reached over to hit the alarm, and smiled as my headache was gone. I felt great and ready to start the day.
I sat up and put my contacts in, and started to think about what to wear for the day ahead. But as I stood up, I noticed something strange, my vision was all blurry. Confused, I sat back down and took my contacts out. To my surprise, when I looked around without my contacts, my vision was perfect. What the hell was going on?
I started to feel worried. Enhanced vision was one of the main abilities Demetri mentioned that happened when you became a vampire. But that couldn't be happening to me, right? He didn't bite me, and I certainly haven't been in unimaginable pain for three days like he described.
I thought about calling Demetri, but I decided to observe a little longer before jumping to any conclusions. As I walked to school, my mind raced with thoughts about the last two weeks. Looking at recent events with a new perspective, I realized there were some other subtle changes. My balance had improved immensely; I couldn't remember tripping or falling down once. Even in gym class, I had felt more at ease, although I hadn't actively tried to participate because I knew I sucked.
I pondered if there were any other changes but, other than my newfound optimism, I couldn't think of any. I resolved to call Demetri if anything else improved or worsened.
That day in gym class, I made the decision to actively participate in the soccer game instead of staying on the sidelines. As we started to play, I was amazed to find that I could keep up with everyone on the field effortlessly. Running had never been my forte, and yet I wasn't huffing and puffing like I used to. To my surprise, I found myself reaching the ball before others multiple times and even managed to kick it hard enough to score a goal. It was my first time ever scoring a goal in my life, and I couldn't believe it. My teammates were just as shocked as I was, giving me surprised high fives as we continued playing. The game went on, and I scored two more goals before the bell rang. Deep down, I knew something had changed within me. There was no way the clumsy Bella Swan could have scored one, let alone three goals in a soccer match.
Once I got home, I knew I should talk to Demetri, but I couldn't help feeling a bit anxious about what he might say. Taking a deep breath, I pulled out my phone and called his number, hoping he would be available to talk.
To my surprise, he picked up after just one ring, and I heard his smooth voice say, "Bella, it's a pleasure to hear from you. How have you been?" The warmth in his tone instantly eased my worries, and I felt comforted hearing his voice again.
"Hi Demetri. I'm well. Hmm, I forgot to check the time in Italy before calling you, but I guess I'm safe considering you don't sleep," I could hear him chuckling in the background, which brought a smile to my face.
"I actually called because I wanted to talk with you about some stuff. I've noticed some recent changes in me, and I just wanted to make sure everything is okay and that I'm not slowly turning into a vampire or something," I explained, trying to sound as composed as possible.
His voice shifted, indicating that he was now taking the conversation more seriously. "What sort of changes have occurred, Bella?" he inquired.
"Well, this morning I realized my eyesight has improved. When I put my contacts in, everything was blurry, but when I took them out, my vision was perfect. That got me thinking if there were any other changes, and I realized that my balance issues have completely vanished. I used to trip almost every day, but since you left, I couldn't remember falling or stumbling even once. To test it out, I played in gym class today and, to my surprise, I scored three goals in soccer. That's three more goals than I've ever scored in my entire life. So, it's clear that something has changed. Do you have any thoughts or ideas about what might be happening?" I asked, hoping he could shed some light on the situation.
Demetri remained silent for a moment, and I could tell he was carefully considering his response. Finally, he spoke, "The only thing I can think of is, and pardon my frankness, but you did swallow a lot of vampire semen, and we did have a lot of sex. While I don't believe it's changing you into a vampire, it's possible that it may have improved some of your skills and senses."
Well, I hadn't been expecting that answer. "Have any of the other human women you've slept with ever experienced any issues like this?" I inquired.
"Well… actually, you were the only human woman I've ever been with who's lived through the act," he admitted, sounding a bit sheepish. It wasn't exactly a humorous situation, but I couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of his admission.
"Lucky me," I remarked with a smile, "So I guess I'm the test dummy to see how vampire cum reacts in a human. Well, truthfully, I feel better than I ever have, so as long as I don't develop fangs, do you think I'll be okay?" I joked, attempting to lighten the mood while also seeking some reassurance.
"Yes, from what you've said, I don't think you should be concerned yet, but if you start feeling any pain like burning from the inside out, contact me immediately," Demetri advised, his tone serious. "I also don't think you should see a doctor anymore. For all we know, your blood might be a little different, and we don't want any questions to be raised if it is."
"That's good thinking," I replied, feeling relieved by his guidance. "I actually went to the doctor last week, but he didn't take any blood or anything." After the amazing time Demetri and I had, I knew eventually I would want to try it with a human, and my mom was right—I should get on birth control.
"If you ever do get sick, contact me, as I actually know a vampire doctor you can see," Demetri offered.
I was genuinely surprised. "No shit. There's a vampire doctor who treats humans. I'm glad to know the change does not limit one's career choices. I myself have no interest in medicine, but it's good to know nonetheless."
"Yes, well, he's actually a little weird for a vampire, but I happen to know he is an excellent doctor," Demetri explained.
"Okay, thanks for putting my mind at rest. If you ever come to the States, look me up. I kinda miss you," I admitted. I saw no harm in putting that out there, and I did, in fact, miss him.
"No plans at the moment, but if I do, I'll be sure to stop by." We then switched our conversation over to more enjoyable subjects, and we both filled each other in on what we had been up to. Eventually, we said our goodbyes.
After we hung up, I sat on the sofa, pondering if any other changes would occur.
Let me know your thoughts. I just posted a new one-shot stand alone story today. If you want a good laugh go read "Jacob Black and the Chains of Bella's Bondage"
