Chapter 46.

Noah did not want to leave the hospital where his mother and the twins were, but Lucy had to convince him. Lucy had to promise Noah that they would order take-out from his favorite restaurant for dinner when they got home.

Even that did little to cheer him up. Lucy knew she had to reassure him that they would be back at the hospital as soon as possible.

Noah said goodbye to his mother and Sonny and gave them a big hug. He planted tender kisses on Carlotta and Emillia's heads and vowed to return as soon as possible. The task of saying goodbye was not easy for Noah.

Olivia promised Noah that she would FaceTime him before he had to go to bed.

After the twins were both nursed and had fallen asleep in their crib. Olivia found herself lying on the bed, feeling a combination of exhaustion. Her head rested on Sonny's chest as he lovingly massaged her back to help relieve her tired muscles.

Sonny was filled with admiration as he gently kissed Olivia on the head and whispered "You did great, Liv." Responding to Sonny's complimentary words, Olivia smiled weakly.

"I don't know what I would have done without your help." Olivia said her face beaming with a smile. As Sonny leaned in for a tender kiss, they both felt an immense wave of relief and happiness.

They kissed for a short time before finally pulling away. Olivia and Sonny could not help but smile as they looked into each other's eyes. Both feeling a sense of relief and sheer joy.

"Liv, you should get some rest. I'll keep an eye on our babies." Sonny whispered with a gentle smile, receiving a grateful nod from Liv. She glanced into the crib where the twins slept, their tiny chests rising and falling in perfect harmony.

The sight of their slumber brought a sense of relief to Liv. She settled back into her original position. She rested her head on Sonny's chest and tried to get some sleep.

As Olivia woke up, her eyes had to adjust to the brightness of the hospital room. She blinked a few times. Olivia was trying to make sense of her surroundings. The first thing she noticed was that she was alone in the bed. Olivia looked around the room as her eyes got used to the light.

Olivia immediately noticed that Sonny had both twins in his arms and was rocking them in a gentle motion. Relief washed over Olivia as she saw Sonny comforting their newborn twins.

She felt an overwhelming surge of love as she watched Sonny tenderly cradle the newborn twins. This deep emotion was completely new to her and it filled her heart with immense joy.

A few hours later, there was a knock at the hospital door. Sarafina entered the room with a smile on her face, accompanied by Noah.

Noah entered the hospital room where the twins slept in their crib. However, he was disappointed to see that Carlotta and Emillia were asleep. He pouted and looked at the adults in the room.

Sarafina smiled gently at the twin girls "Why did not you both tell me, you were expecting twins?" She was surprised and filled with joy upon learning the exciting news. She was carrying a gift basket for the newborn baby. Completely unaware that she would need two baskets instead of one. Inside were many items - all carefully selected for a single baby - such as a playmat, a snooze light, a pacifier, and some onesie outfits.

Sonny chuckled and said, "You're wondering why we didn't tell you about the twins sooner. Frankly, I was afraid that if we mentioned it earlier, you would shower them with too many presents!" He pointed to her hands filled with presents and jokingly added, "Looks like our prediction came true!"

"Yes, you know me too well, son." Sarafina replied, her eyes sparkling with happiness as she unwrapped another present.

As if on cue, the room was filled with the piercing sound of a baby's cry. The cry echoed through the room. Causing everyone to turn their attention towards the source of the noise.

Olivia was quick to respond to the baby's cry, rushing over to soothe and comfort the infant. She gently picked up the baby, rocking Carlotta back and forth in her arms, soothing her with soft, comforting words.

Olivia felt the warmth of her child's tiny hand as it wrapped around her finger. Sarafina approached Olivia and shared a gentle smile, joining them in their moment.

"Can I hold her?" Sarafina asked, excitement and curiosity shining in her eyes. She eagerly awaited the opportunity to cradle the baby. Olivia smiled and placed the tiny bundle in Sarafina's arms. As Sarafina held her grandchild for the first time, a sense of awe and tenderness consumed her.

"Hello sweetheart, it's so wonderful to finally meet you." Sarafina whispered, her voice filled with love and joy. She was amazed by every little detail of her grandchild, from their tiny fingers to the adorable button nose.
