When she reach the apartment building she park her wagon and got out. She looked around and walked in side the building and ups to the front counter and asked for the manager. When the man walked out to see a young girl there
"Hello, my I help you"
"Yes, I'm Samantha Carter, I called about the apartment"
"Sorry it been taken"
"Excuse me, you told me on the phone that it was available"
"I'm sorry" Sam looked at him
"Your lying, what the real reason" that shock the manager
"Excuse me I want you to leave"
"Fine, if you going to be like that" then she turn and walk out of the building. When she got into her wagon she called her parents
"Hello"
"Hey dad, can you do me a favour"
"What happen"
"The manager lie to my face, can you call to see if the apartment is available and tell the guy that it for your daughter who is working at the pentagon"
"Sure, give me a few minutes"
"Thanks" then they hung up.
Jacob did make the call then he let Elizabeth to look after the boys since he told the manager that he wanted to check out the place. When Jacob showed up He Park behind Sam wagon and got outs and walked in side and spoke to the manager. Sam listens then she got out and walked back in side then she uses the staircase to the third floor. When she got there she walk down the hallway and stop at the open door to see Jacob talking to the manager.
"Do you think your daughter would like this place?"
"Well it got every thing except for the cribs" Sam looked around and nodded to her father since he saw her
"Yes she would like, what do you think Sam"
"It just what I needed dad" the manager turn around in shock
"You"
"Yes me" Sam walk in just as the guy look at Jacob
"You lie to me"
"No you lie to my daughter" Sam stood next to her father, she pulled out her air force ID and show the manager
"This must be forgery"
"Nope and I am a captain of the airforce"
"Sorry, I'm not giving you this place, now leave" they walk out the door "well dad it his lost"
"True"
"Thanks for trying"
"It ok Sam" they walk down to the main foliar when a man walk in and over to the manager.
"Mr Thomas how is every thing here"
"Good sir, there is one apartment available, there has been few calls about the place, but there will be a new tenant in there by next week" he said smiling
"Good, any other problems?"
"No sir"
"Good, I just want to check the records"
"Yes sir, this way, you can use my office" the guy started to walk to the manager office
"Excuse me" the guy turn around
"Yes"
"Do you own this building"
"Yes, why do you ask" Sam step ford and held out her hand
"Hi I'm Samantha Carter and your manager turn me down for the apartment here" he shook her hand
"Jeff Cole, so your interested in the apartment"
"Yes but your manager told me that some one already taken it" he turn to the manager
"Is this true"
"Yes sir, she just a kid" he turn to Sam
"What references have you got Ms Carter?"
"None"
"Oh I see" Sam look at the guy
"Mr Cole, the only thing that I have rented was when I was at university, when I finish there, I been living at my finance house till we were married. We both are in the air force and station at Colorado Springs till I was transferred here last Monday"
"I under stand, but with no references, sorry"
"Mr Cole I was prepared to pay the bond and six months in advance on the apartment" he raised his eye brows
"Six months"
"Yes sir and I also got twin sons, they are almost six months old"
Then a young girl who was about twelve years old walk in and over to them
"Daddy how long are you going to be"
"Not long" then she turn and her eyes widen
"Oh my god, your Dr Samantha Carter" sam smile
"Yes I am I"
"Wow, it an honour to meet you in person, boys and girls are going to flip when they find out"
"Terry, you know her?"
"Yes dad, this is thee DR Samantha Carter, she a hero"
"Hero"
"Yes dad a hero, she saved the west cost few years ago from nuclear diaster, she received the presidential award for it and she is the youngest in history to received that and two top civilian metals in history" he look at her daughter then to Sam
"I should of click when you said your name, sorry, it is an honour, would you like to see the apartment?" Sam smile
"I've seen it and I would like it thanks" Mr Cole turn to the manager
"Get the papers for this young lady"
"Yes Mr Cole" then he turn and walk into his office to get the papers.
"Who is this gentlemen with you?"
"My father General Jacob Carter"
"Hi"
"Hi" they shook hands
"You must be proud of your daughter"
"Yes I am, the way she going, she would reach major in no time"
"I bet, so your station here in Washington as well?"
"Yes I am for how long who knows" then the manger return back with the papers and a pen, he past them to Sam.
She looked them over and fills out all the forms and then signs them. Once done she open her bag and pulled out the money and count it then pass it to the manager whom then past her a recept and keys to the place
"Thank you" she said then turn to Terry
"What are you planing on doing when you grow up?"
"Join the air force just like you" Sam smile
"Well good on you and good luck"
"Thank you, can you give me some tips" Sam smile
"Are you in any marshal arts classes?"
"Yes"
"Good, what about first aid?"
"No"
"Well see if you can join one cause that is one thing you will need to know is the basics in first aid"
"Ok"
"And one important thing, just do your best"
"I will, thank you" then Sam turn to Mr Cole
"I'll let you get back to work Mr Cole"
"Thanks and welcome to the building" they shook hands
"Thanks" then they went their separate ways.
Jacob and Sam return back to the apartment and check out the place to see what Sam needs.
"Well Sam are you happy now?"
"Yes I am, it perfect, I can drop the boys off at day care on my way to work and the grocery store is only three blocks away"
"So what are you going to do now?" she got her phone out and made a call
"Hello"
"Hey it me" she knew he would be smiling
"Hey you sound happy"
"I got a apartment, fully furnish apartment"
"Hey that great news"
"It is, so doing any thing at the moment?"
"Nothing much but missing you and our sons why?"
"Any chance of getting on a plane and coming here today?"
"Sure, what do you need?"
"Sheets, towels… you" she said smiling
"Sure what size bed?"
"Double"
"Sure, where should I meet you?"
"Call me and I'll come and get you" "ok, see you soon"
"I'll be looking ford to it" then they both hung up.
"Well we might as well head back to the house and pack every thing up"
"Come on let's go" they walk out and lock the door.
They walk down stairs to their cars and got in then they headed back to the house. When they got there, Sam told her mum about the apartment, which she is happy for Sam. They pack every thing up and put them into the wagon and car, then they went back to the apartment building where they took every thing up into the apartment.
Once done, Jacob and Elizabeth stay with the boys while Sam went to the grocery store and brought some food then headed back. She parks in the basement of the building then she carry her bags up to the apartment and put every thing away.
Then she put the kettle on for a drink. She talk to her parents while setting up the portable cribs then put the boys in them since they were sleeping. Jacob and Elizabeth stay for an hour before leaving to return home. Sam put every thing away while waiting for Jack to call.
When Jack got off the phone with Sam called the airlines and manage to get a flight to Washington. After he got off the phone, he then called for a taxi. When he got off the phone he quickly ran up stairs and pack an over night bag, then he went to the linin closet to pack all his old sheets, blankets, towels and other thing.
When finish, he took the bags down stairs just as the taxi showed up. He put his shoes and jacket on then he got his wallet and keys. He picks up his bags and left the house locking the door behind him. He passes the bags and suitcases to the driver and he put them in the trunk, then they got in and headed to the airport.
Twenty minutes later Jack got his ticket and was now on the plane heading to Washington to see Sam and their sons. When the plane landed, he got the bags and walk over to where the public phones are and called Sam
"Hello"
"Hey, I'm in Washington"
"That great, meet you out side in few minutes"
"Ok, where are you?"
"On my way to the airport now, I'll be there in five minutes"
"Ok" then they hung up.
Sam knew he was on his way, so she sorted out the boys and carry them down to her wagon, she put the boys in their car seats then she put the stroller in the back before getting in and leaving to head to the air port. When she was close he called. When she hung up minute later, she was smiling.
When she showed up at the drop off, pick up Point, Jack was they're waiting for her. When she stops, she got out and walked around to where Jack is and they both hug and kiss
"God, I miss you"
"We miss you to Jack, come on" she help him put the bags in the back next to the stroller, then they got in and left to return back to the apartment. Jack look at the boys who were awake looking at him which made him smile, then he turn and look at Sam.
"How are you copping?"
"Ok but the real test starts on Monday"
"Ok, I'm sure you will be ok"
"I hope so to Jack" they talk till Sam turn and drive in to a car park, the she stop and turn the motor off
"Come on, lets get in side where it a bit warmer"
"Good idea" they got out and got the bags and stroller out, then they got the twins out and put them in the stroller.
Once in and they both pick up the bags, Sam lock her wagon up and then push the stroller with Jack walking next to her. Once they were in side, they warm up which that made them happy. They walk to the elevator and got in then Sam push button number three, then the doors close and the elevator started moving.
"How big is the apartment Sam"
"It's big enough for the boys and us"
"Ok" when the elevator stop, they got out and walk down to a door then stop.
