The next morning came too early, and Senji shuffled slowly behind Bakugo and Todoroki. Bakugo had more energy than she felt like dealing with, but Todoroki was able to deflect him pretty well on his own. They rode a bus to the facility for the provisional lessons, Senji taking the opportunity to catch a quick nap. All Might was with, as well, and the teachers met up with Endeavor to sit in the stands.
"Ah, Meat Guy," Senji spotted a familiar face from Shiketsu. He had started rambling about the conduct of UA again, until she interrupted.
"Meat?! Again, stop that!," the purple-haired student snapped at her. Bakugo joined in with the nickname, while the largest of their group tried to force a friendship with Todoroki.
"Oh! You're the one with a similar name to him, right?," a blonde student appeared out of nowhere and started chatting away. "You UA guys are all hotties, huh. Oh, but you stream sometimes too, yeah? I used to totally simp for ya."
"Well, time for me to go. Bye," Senji tried to slip away but it was too late to dodge that blow. Thankfully, Seiji from the other school was also there as an observer. Senji paired off with him, somewhat reluctantly, and followed him to the stands where she sat a couple seats down from him and his teacher. Present Mic took notice, and called her out once he started his MC routine out of boredom.
"Playing with kids, huh? Interesting method," Seiji started his own commentary.
"Ah, now I remember. Bakugo will be pretty bad for that. At Jeanist's, he made a bunch of kids cry," Senji chimed in, providing her own analysis.
"Seriously. Why are you here?," the Shiketsu student complained at her.
"Well," Senji pointed toward Endeavor and All Might, "I'd rather put up with you than deal with that mess. 'Sides, it's fun to watch those guys get rejected by a buncha kids, right?"
"Well, you're not completely wrong I guess," the boy agreed, and the two held an unspoken and temporary truce.
"Ah, that's bad," Senji redirected her attention to the field below, where the students were unleashing their quirks. Bakugo looked eager to fight, making Senji nervous. Her tail flicked nervously around, prompting Seiji to slap it out of his way. She breathed a sigh of relief once it was clear that even Bakugo deflected their attacks with some level of restraint. The Camie girl used her quirk to fool some of the younger girls with a flirty image of Todoroki. Bakugo laughed loudly at him, but he was next in line.
"Pfft! Ha! The fuck is that," Senji laughed loudly from the stands. Present Mic was stunned silent by the sound of her laugh erupting from above, and Bakugo's clapbacks from below. It was a pretty entertaining sight. After that interruption, the hero trainees were able to use the quirks of the kids along with their own to make a sort of playground. Bakugo even dragged the ringleader of the younger students out, and for a brief moment looked kinda cool. Senji joined up with the others after the exercise, teasing Bakugo along with the Shiketsu students.
"Ah, but for realsies. You'd be kinda cute if you could shut up. Gimme your number," Camie threw a pretty specific comment out there. Bakugo yelled back, and Senji found her tail twitching irritably at it for some reason.
"Oh? Hit a nerve? Lame-o. Hey, you," she redirected her attention to Senji. "You, like, jelly? For real?"
"Huh?," Senji snapped at her more aggressively than she meant to.
"I mean, you're a hottie too. Right? I almost didn't recognize you, though."
"As if I'd be worried about that," Senji muttered. The others didn't miss her pouty comment, though.
"Yeah. Like, those bags are totes bad. For streams you look more like…this," Camie used her quirk again, and Senji practically tackled her classmates and covered their eyes.
"Hey! Lemme go, nerd," Bakugo resisted the most, and the loudest. Camie was scolded by her classmate for using her quirk, and Senji released her two classmates as the illusion dispersed.
"Man, Shota. You sure raised a fiery one," Present Mic voiced his thoughts while he drove. He was already surprised and conflicted when his friend Eraser had taken in that kid. Seeing her now was even weirder, given her twisted personality. Eraser had asked for him specifically to check on her condition, worried about stress, but she looked fine to him.
"Hey, Senji," Todoroki finally spoke up, "was the glamour thing that funny?"
"Huh? Was that buggin' you that bad?," she ignored Bakugo for the moment and turned to talk to him.
"Yeah."
"Well, for you it'd be pretty believable to say something like that. A stretch, but believable. Him, though," she gestured at the other student growling behind her. "Absolutely not from him."
"Huh?! What's that, shithead?," Bakugo snapped again.
"What? I ain't wrong. Have you seen yourself, you giant nerd," her words made him flinch and grow quiet. The unexpected reaction deflated her smug attitude pretty quick, and she also went quiet.
"Could if I wanted to," she heard him mumble. Her phone buzzed just then, and she quickly skimmed a message from a certain hero. She turned her attention toward the driver, Present Mic.
"Hey, Mic."
