Serenity's POV
A few days after Halloween it started to freaking snow. Soon the holidays would be around the corner and I was looking forward to seeing Eden experience her first Christmas. Thanksgiving and Christmas were my favorite holidays because you got to spend time with loved ones and second there was a large amount of food.
Just thinking of food made my inner dragon lick her tongue against her mouth. I rolled my eyes at her gluttony as I made my way toward the Eyrie.
"Ouch! Be careful with your claws sweetie" I told Eden gently. My daughter was on my back using her claws to hang on to me. She was definitely growing fast.
My little girl loved scaling and now was currently trying to glide. Who knew gargoyle children could learn so fast. As though she felt her claws were hurting me she decided to open her wings and she successfully glided onto the floor.
"Did she just glide?!" Michelle exclaimed.
"Looks like it" I replied with pride. I then picked up my daughter and kissed her showing I was proud.
Puck chose that moment to appear and I sweat dropped as Eden squealed happily at seeing him. She then opened her wings again and she managed to glide into the fae's arms. Puck was ecstatic and he began to shower Eden with much affection while I simply shook my head before heading outside.
Hannah waved me hello as she stood close to Lex's stone form.
"We got company, Macbeth is here to ask the clan for something" the archaeologist explained.
I hadn't seen Macbeth in a while and if he was here it meant something important was going on. As usual, I climbed up to the tower and waited for the sun to set. I shivered because it was cold and my dragon was itching for a flight. Once the sun was gone did Goliath and the others awaken from their stone sleep.
"Dang, it's cold!" Brooklyn protested from below and I snorted at his reaction.
What does he expect? He and the rest of the males minus Hudson wear only loincloths my dragon chimed in. She then flashed me a smirk. Though with our mate he looks better with his loincloth off
I went blood red at that remark and threatened to throw her into a mental cage if she didn't behave.
"You look flustered my love" Goliath greeted me.
"You don't wanna know right now" I responded still embarrassed. My Beloved of Night chuckled before the two of us exchanged our usual greeting kiss before heading downstairs to see what Macbeth wanted. The others were with us as well minus Eden and Puck.
"Your lass is adorable" Macbeth complimented me and Goliath. "That fae on the other hand can be a nuisance"
"He's her mate" Goliath notified Macbeth. "What is it that troubles you, Macbeth?"
"It's called the Stone of Destiny"
Hannah's eyes immediately lit up.
"For centuries the kings and queens of Scotland were crowned upon it"
"Magic talking stone? We've heard of it" Brooklyn interjected. I had no idea what the Stone of Destiny was. Apparently, Hannah did because she was doing her best not to have a damn heart attack due to her excitement.
"Yes well the English took it, now after eight hundred years it's finally being returned, I'm asking for your help to ensure it gets to Scotland safely"
Goliath looked uncomfortable due to the complications of what happened to the rest of his clan back at Castle Wyvern. Hell, I didn't blame him.
"Don't you have minions for this?"
Macbeth shook his head.
"We've parted ways, please Goliath"
"I have been wounded recently and though I am healed, I am not whole just yet"
My Beloved of Night then turned to Brooklyn.
"But if my second in command agrees, he can lead Broadway, Lexington, and Angela to join your quest"
Broadway got excited and picked up Angela into his arms.
"I'm definitely going" Hannah volunteered. "This is my field after all"
"Babe, what's wrong? You okay?" Michelle wondered seeing Brooklyn was uncomfortable about something.
"I don't think leaving the clan is wise right now" Brooklyn answered and he looked to Goliath. "You're still recovering and I feel this is the wrong time to send me overseas"
Goliath looked to his second in command proudly and placed a hand on Brooklyn's shoulder.
"Yes you are needed here"
"I'll go in Brooklyn's place" Hudson volunteered.
"So will I, where Hannah goes, I go"
Hannah chose that moment to hug her mate and Lex blushed.
"Just to be on the safe side we'll stay as well" Broadway voiced in meaning he and Angela would remain behind too.
"Thailog is still out there"
Immediately I hissed at the mention of Goliath's clone. My Beloved of Night thankfully intertwined a hand into mine and I relaxed. With the meeting concluded Goliath wanted to see Eden.
"She's gliding now" I informed my mate.
"Is she really?"
He was pleased to hear that. We found Eden looking worn out in Puck's arms. But at seeing her father she opened her wings and glided over to Goliath. My Beloved of Night caught her and placed our daughter onto his shoulder and rubbed her back while Eden purred.
"I assume you want me to watch her for a little bit?" the fae asked.
"Shortly and don't hog her if Angela or anyone else in the clan wants to hold her"
"Noted!"
The fae chose that moment to leave and Goliath was still rubbing Eden's back.
"The holidays are going to be an interesting experience for her"
"Which one?" Goliath inquired.
"Mostly Christmas, it's still my favorite holiday, and for a child it's exciting"
"Perhaps our clan should celebrate it this year since last year we were just getting used to being alive again after our long sleep"
"I like it, we should discuss it when Lex, Hannah, and Hudson get back"
"Hey did I hear my sister is gliding?"
At hearing her sibling Eden again opened her wings and successfully glided into Angela's arms. This got the attention of Broadway, Brooklyn, Lex, and Hudson. According to Goliath, a gargoyle's first glides were important. Seeing our daughter was enjoying being the center of attention Goliath and I returned to the top tower.
"How are you feeling honestly Goliath?"
My Beloved of Night came over to me and picked me up into his arms.
"My Warrior of Flame with you beside me each night my recovery improves"
I blushed before Goliath claimed a kiss and our tongues danced briefly before he placed me back onto my feet. I then transformed into my dragon state and opened my wings. I shot my mate a smirk before taking flight and Goliath was soon beside me. Together the two of us remained in the air for a half hour before finally choosing a rooftop to land so we could rest our wings.
"Damn I really should have put on a warmer coat" I growled.
No sooner had I said that Goliath used his left wing to bring me into his arms. Next, his wings wrapped themselves around me and immediately I felt warmer in his embrace. My Beloved of Night wrapped his arms around me and he kissed my forehead before placing his chin on top of my hair.
