Chapter 2

After being given brooms, Lucy and Lincoln are guided to a room full of dust! It's all over the place, on the walls, the floor, there is even dust covering the ceiling above them.

Lincoln (With worry): "I hope we're not being tricked to clean this whole place up."

Hopkins (With a smile): "Don't be silly boy! Here you'll learn your first spell: Dustomancy!"

Lucy: "What do we need to do?"

Hopkins: "All you have to do is make two piles in the center of this room, from all the dust you see here."

So the two got to sweeping. It took a lot of time and effort to get all the dust in the room's center. Especially, with Lincoln and Lucy having to move and climb up ladders to reach up and whack the ceiling to get the dust from there down to the ground. And I'm with all of you on wondering how they did it without sneezing… once.

Lucy: "It was not…Sniff! Easy…"

Nevertheless, they got it done. Just then, their robes started to glow. And appeared before them is their first star badge.

Hopkins: "Now you have the ability to control and shape the dust before you."

To test this spell out, Lucy stretched her hands in front of her dust pile and wiggled her fingers. As if it were actually alive the dust started to move around and shaped itself to look like a bat.

Lucy (With a little smile): "Wicked…"

Lincoln: "Woah! My turn…"

And so a showcase of manipulating dust begins. As the two siblings shape their dust piles into things like a broken heart, a superhero flying, and portraits of each other. They then got a bit competitive as Lincoln and Lucy got their dust piles to arm wrestle each other.

Lincoln (With a smirk): "Let's see Lynn compete against this…"

Next up is thumb wrestling…

Lucy: "Watch my thumb."

Lucy and Lincoln's fun came to a complete stop though as Hopkins rang his bell to get their attention.

Hopkins: "Next is…"

He goes over to a door and opens it to revile the next room is pitch black.

Hopkins: "Shadowcery! To gain control over the shadows made by light. You two have to guide yourselves to the exit on the other of this chamber."

Lincoln (Walks over with Lucy): "In the dark?"

Hopkins: "But of course boy. And you have to do the best you can not to bump or break anything that the chamber contains.

Lucy: "Don't worry…darkness is one of my elements." (With a smirk): "I guided myself through our house many times during the darkness of nights…while the rest of my family are peacefully sleeping."

Lincoln: "Wait…" (With a raised brow): "Did you just say…"

Lucy (Loses her smirk): "Nothing…"

So they went in…and just like Lucy promised she found her way through the darken room easily, while her brother did bump into a few things…and hopefully didn't break anything too valuable as he heard class and wood breaking a few times. Lincoln eventually did find the exit, where he met his little sister and amphibian teacher on the other side.

Hopkin (Scratches his chin): "You took a little longer than I expected. But well done!"

Once again Lincoln and Lucy's robes started to glow again and their next addition to their start badge collection appeared before them. To test it out, Lucy waves her arms in front of her own shadow on the floor, causing it to rise, standing up next to her.

Lincoln (Raises his hand with a smile): "High five… Shadow Lucy."

But when Lincoln's hand came in contact with Shadow Lucy's, the latter instantly collapse becoming a normal shadow again, before saying.

Lucy: "No…sigh… touches."

Lincoln: "Heh…" (With a nervous smile): "Oops!"
