Tigerclaw's ear flicked back in annoyance. Brokentail's bloody screeching and obscene spatted insults were grating on the former ThunderClan deputy's nerves. It was as though Brokentail was provoking them to kill him and Tigerclaw might just do so just to shut him up.

Tigerclaw's pale amber glare wasn't the only one being sent towards the blind dark brown tabby, annoyance and exasperation were on all their faces. The apprentices looked heartbeats away from stuffing moss in their ears and Tigerclaw felt more sympathy towards Dustpelt and Darkstripe who had to haul his soon to be useless buzzard-food carcass to Fourtrees than he ever had in his life.

A gentle bump to his shoulder distracted him from Brokentail, and Tigerclaw looked down to see Fireheart walking by his side, facing forwards but directly addressing him, "Tigerclaw, what's going to happen after we give Brokentail over to WindClan and ShadowClan?"

Tigerclaw hummed in thought. That was a good question and also an important one that needs an answer. The way that Bluestar had made the ultimatum over Brokentail it seemed now that Tigerclaw would no longer be deputy. But Tigerclaw didn't feel any regret or annoyance by it. In fact Tigerclaw was beginning to realize that there are more ways to have sway over a Clan than simply being its leader. Also for what they have planned there wouldn't be a need for a ThunderClan leader for long.

"One thing at a time." Tigerclaw said off-pawed, it wasn't a response that set well with Fireheart from the annoyed glare the she-cat sent his way but it would be one that they'd talk about more in private when they had time.

Tigerclaw focuses on putting one paw in front of the other. The anticipation curled in his stomach of what they'd find at Fourtrees and when they managed to finally reach the slope leading down to the hollow, it was just how he pictured it would be.

ShadowClan and WindClan warriors were mingled together, their shoulders tensed and impatiently conversing with each other, clearly they came straight to Fourtrees after making the deal with Tigerclaw's patrol. Tigerclaw bet they had been counting every heartbeat that it took Tigerclaw's patrol to arrive with Brokentail.

Tigerclaw noticed Tallstar sitting stone faced and Nightstar scraping the ground impatiently beside him.

Tigerclaw was always a cat of his word. And the satisfaction he received from having Dustpelt and Darkstripe basically toss Brokentail down the slope and causing him to roll and land at the paws of the hissing WindClan and ShadowClan warrior's was quite rewarding.

Tigerclaw and his patrol leisurely picked their way down the slope, Tallstar and Nightstar made their way towards the ThunderClan patrol, the two Clan's leaders spat at the former ShadowClan leader as they circled around him, meeting Tigerclaw's patrol halfway as they reached the bottom of the slope.

"We weren't so sure we could trust you to deliver Brokenstar." Tallstar meowed, appearing unapologetic. "It's good that you've proved us wrong. We thank you for this."

"It's about time. This has been long overdue already." Nightstar rasped, the older cat, to elderly to be a leader in Tigerclaw's opinion, hadn't left Brokentail's squirming form out of sight. But then the small, lean, and battered, black tom gave the ThunderClan patrol an interesting offer, "If you'd like, you can stay and see what happens to Brokenstar. We know that ThunderClan has been wronged just as much as our own Clan's."

The offer was tempting, very tempting, and it was too great of an opportunity to pass up. The dark brown tabby warrior wanted to see what they'd do, what could WindClan and ShadowClan offer the greater future once they join together? Tigerclaw signaled for his patrol to wait, he sensed that this would be dragged out, WindClan and ShadowClan weren't just looking for justice, they were also looking for retribution.

A pair of WindClan and ShadowClan warrior's dragged a flailing, struggling and hissing Brokentail into the center of warriors and deposited him at their leaders paws.

Tigerclaw and his patrol settled down on the outer part of the circle, watching and waiting on the sidelines as they watched things unfold. Tigerclaw felt Fireheart lean into his side but he paid no mind as he watched both Tallstar and Nightstar circling around Brokentail, appearing as though they were Tiger's of old prowling around their defenseless prey. And Brokentail was defenseless, the useless crowfood unable to see the true danger he was in but seeming able to sense it all the same. The former ShadowClan leader hissed, his claws swiping at air as the two other leaders stayed out of range, just looking at Brokentail in disgust.

Brokentail hissed once more before spitting, "Well, aren't you going to get on with it?"

The pure disdain and contempt that shines from all the warrior's eyes were something to be feared. It was a shame that Brokentail wasn't able to see his ultimate demise coming.

"You have much to answer to, Brokenstar." Tallstar growled, coming to stand over the former ShadowClan tyrant.

"To both WindClan and ShadowClan." Nightstar added, now standing beside Tallstar.

"Answer too?" Brokenstar wheezed out a laugh. "I don't have to answer to anyone!"

"Oh, I know how much you don't care about anyone but yourself, Brokentail." Nightstar growled, "ever since you were an apprentice you only ever cared about yourself. You've always thought that you knew better than anyone else when truly you were dumber than a dormouse." Murmurs of agreement came from the surrounding ShadowClan warriors, causing Brokentail to growl in agitation.

"We all know that Raggedstar only made Brokentail deputy because he was his son. Brokentail didn't earn his place as deputy!" One of the ShadowClan warrior's mocked from the sidelines. Tigerclaw was pretty sure he recognized the warrior as Russetfur, and he wholeheartedly agreed.

Tigerclaw, though not a part of ShadowClan, could tell there were more fitting warriors above Brokentail who would make a great deputy. Tigerclaw thought nothing of it when Raggedstar made him deputy, his only concern was becoming deputy himself, but now thinking back the only logical reason that Brokentail had been chosen over better suited warriors would have to have been his blood ties with Raggedstar personally.

That seemed to have struck a chord within Brokentail, much to Tigerclaw's amusement as the former ShadowClan tyrant tried to rise as if in challenge, only to be knocked down again by a nearby WindClan warrior, "I've earned that position a hundred times over! Everyone else was too soft and weak for the position of deputy!" The blind warrior tried to defend himself, but it seemed as though Nightstar were adamant on piling onto Brokentail's insecurities now that it got a rise out of him.

"Everything about you seemed off from the moment you were brought to camp. I hardly believe that someone like Raggedstar could give life to such a monster. I always wonder if you truly are his son." Nightstar added flippantly, "as your former mentor I can tell these sorts of things about my apprentices."

"You knew nothing about me!" Brokentail spat, "Raggedstar knew I was his son and knew that my greatness would surpass you all!"

"We'll probably never know the truth about that. Seeing as we never knew your mother." Low blow, Tigerclaw could tell from the way that Brokentail withered that those words had truly hurt him in some way.

Tigerclaw felt Fireheart press harder into his side and the giant dark brown tabby warrior turned to his mate to see what was the matter. There was a troubled look on Fireheart's face, it was scrunched up with a grimace. It was as though the remark about Brokentail's unknown heritage had struck a chord in Fireheart as well.

Tigerclaw felt confused by her reaction. It came to him as he puzzled it out that the most likely reason was because of Fireheart's own way of being a part of the Clan. The beautiful flame-pelted she-cat was once a kittypet, although Tigerclaw could hardly imagine her now of ever being one, so hearing about Brokentail being an outsider and always considered one must be affecting her own insecurities, even though she's proven herself a dozen times over and is far better cat than Brokentail could ever be.

"Raggedstar saw something in you that nobody else did and that got him killed. We aren't making the same mistake."

"What are you yammering about, you old bag of bones?" Brokentail hissed, flinching from surprise as Nightstar took a swipe at him.

Suddenly the amusement of watching Brokentail's trial faded. This wasn't ThunderClan's place to witness, it was for WindClan and ShadowClan to settle between them and Brokentail.

Rising to his massive paws Tigerclaw signaled to his patrol to rise as well and they silently stalked away, but as they reached the top of the slope there was a massive yowling and screeching and Tigerclaw turned just in time to see Brokentail disappear under a pile of WindClan and ShadowClan warriors.

Tigerclaw only took a moment to watch, then turned his back and continued on to home.

Fun Facts:

Tigerclaw basically started an insurrection/mutiny/revolution whatever it's called against Bluestar.

Two factions at work here. Tigerclaw and his followers and Bluestar and her followers.

Brokentail is dead and most of that stuff that was said (a.k.a Nightstar being Brokentail's old mentor, Brokentail not knowing his mother, etc…) all true.

Tigerclaw tried so hard to figure out Fireheart but was missing by miles. Got to love that he's protective of her though!

Excitedly awaiting the next chapter! Got something important coming!
