Dipper and Mabel were sitting around, enjoying what they could of TV, both kind of disappointed that the only channel with a descriptive audio function was the 'Used To Be About History' channel. Though they did find a fun show called Tiger Fist. Mabel made the valiant effort to step in with the audio descriptive part herself, as she described what was going on. Despite never watching the show before today.

Mabel has done this a couple times and has been getting real good at doing it. Their parents mentioned she could do it professionally if she really wanted to, but she only saved that talent for helping Dipper. She had other plans for her future. Dipper often felt uncomfortable at the idea of using his sister as a living audio description because he didn't want her to miss out on whatever they were watching. But she always insisted so he let her, knowing Mabel just wanted to help him.

As the channel went into a commercial break, Soos, who had been watching with them, said "hey, look. It's that commercial I was telling you guys about."

Dipper titled his head as it played. Apparently it was for something called 'The Tent Of Telepathy' and was being run by some guy named Gideon. Dipper recognized the name from the other day when he and Mabel asked their suspects in Wax Stan's murder who their favorite celebrity was.

"Wow," Mabel said, after the commercial finished. "I'm getting all curiousy inside!"

"Well, don't get too curiousy." Stan said, walking in "ever since that monster Gideon rolled into town, I've had nothin' but trouble."

"Is he really a physic?" Dipper asked.

"Ooh!" Mabel said "we should go and find out."

"You two aren't going anywhere!" Stan said "you're forbidden from patronizing the competition. No one that lives under my roof is allowed under Gideon's roof!"

Mabel giggled "but it's the Tent Of Telepathy, it doesn't have a roof."

"I don't care," Stan said, "you two are not going."

"Don't worry Grunkle Stan, I wasn't planning on it" Dipper said.

"What?!" Mabel said and Dipper knew she was pouting at him "why not?"

"It's a show based off of sight" he said and added a touch of sarcasm "does that really sound like something I would enjoy?"

Mabel pondered for a second, "I could do the descriptive audio style thing I do when we watch TV."

Dipper rolled his eyes. "Last time you tried that, we got kicked out for 'being disruptive'."

Mabel scoffed at her brother's words. "They were such insensitive jerks."

"Well despite that" Dipper said "I don't think this is something you can describe like a movie."

"I guess…"

Hearing the disappointment in her voice, as well as Stan stepping out of the room, Dipper sighed. "If you want to go with Soos I won't stop you, or tell Stan. I just don't want to go is all."

"What are you going to do?" Soos asked.

Dipper shrugged "I don't know, probably listen to my audio book or flip through the Journal or something."

Mabel smiled as she gave her brother a hug, "thanks bro-bro. I will give you all the details when I get back."

—-

While Mabel and Soos were at the show Dipper spent the day just chilling in the attic, reading the Journal with his glasses and magnifying glass, working to get all down to memory and making mental notes of the different codes he wanted to try and decipher. Then his sister came bursting into the room.

"How was it?" He asked, putting the Journal away to give his sister his full attention.

Mabel started squealing in excitement and threw herself unto her brother, he huffed in annoyance and pushed her on the floor. She rolled her eyes playfully and climbed on the bed properly, bouncing a little. "Dipper, it was amazing! And he was so little and cute, I don't know why Grunkle Stan doesn't like him." She rambled.

"Who was little and cute?" Dipper asked, figuring she was talking about some guy she met in the audience.

"Gideon!"

"What?"

"Yeah!" Mabel said, flopping back on his bed. "Turns out he's a nine year old kid!"

"Seriously?" Dipper asked, now able to see why Stan didn't like him, it was harder to get away scamming people when you're a cute little kid. And there was no doubt in his mind that The Tent Of Telepathy was another scamming tourist trap, just like the Mystery Shack.

Dipper snickered, "the T.O.T, run by a tot."

He snickered at the acronym, Mabel's giggles told him she found the humor as well. As Mabel got her giggles under control, she began to explain what all Gideon did during his little show, even singing the song for him. Dipper might miss seeing things, but he does enjoy hearing his sister sing, she has been practicing, and though her skill took a dive from the lisp her braces give her, she was still pretty good.

Mabel had started practicing and getting better after he began to lose his sight, because his hearing started to become sensitive, which had the side effect of Mabel trying harder to be better, so she could sing without hurting her brother.

—-

The next morning, as the two were playing a video game. It was a single player partial strategy game, Mabel controlled the game, choosing how their avatar looked and the overall aesthetic, Dipper handled the strategy by deciding how to deploy troops, set up their personal team, and all of the other technical things. They both had fun, and they made a pretty good team.

Mabel kept making comments that she was the queen and Dipper was her royal adviser. Which was a costume theme they went as for halloween one year, people found it adorable as usual. Dipper practically acted like a fortune cookie whenever someone asked for advice as a joke, saying things that were vague enough to (maybe) be considered correct.

Though the game was interrupted as there was a knock on the door, Stan shouted for one of them to get it.

"I got it!" Mabel yelled as she paused the game.

"I can do it, '' Dipper offered, "I'm not needed for this part of the game."

"Nope I'm gonna do it" Mabel decided. Moving to the door and Dipper sighed in annoyance, slumping in his seat as he waited for Mabel to come back so they could keep playing.

The reason why Mabel chose to answer was mostly because Dipper wouldn't be able to see who was on the other side. Because their friends (aka Soos and Wendy) wouldn't be knocking and would just walk right into the house. Much to Stan's annoyance. So it was just easier for her to get it rather than Dipper asking who the person was, only for them to be the mailman or something.

She threw open the door to find no one there, only to look down and see the performer from last night. Mabel gasped in delight. "Howdy" Gideon greeted.

"It's 'wittle ol' you!" She said.

The boy laughed awkwardly "yes, my song is quite catchy."

Stan shouted from the back, "who's at the door!?" Mabel flinched slightly as she quickly responded, "nobody!"

Gideon smiled at the girl, "thank you. I understand that Stan and I don't get along too well. Such a surprise that a peach so sweet could be related to a lemon so sour. What say, we go somewhere more welcoming, like my dressing room?"

Mabel frowned, she had already ditched her brother once to sit alone with his dwindling sight and struggled reading, doing it again would rack up the guilt further. "Actually, me and my bro were just playing some games. Would you like to join us?"

Gideon, having not known she had a brother, chuckled a little nervously. "Well, as I just said, Stan and I don't get along."

Mabel gave a quick laughing scoff as she grabbed Gideon's arm and pulled him along to the living room. "Stan is just a big teddy bear, I am sure he can ignore your guys' little rivalry between businesses if we asked. But since you're our friend, he won't really care as long as you stick with us."

Dipper nodded towards the impact he felt on the couch, having heard his sister doing what she was doing. "Hello, names Dipper."

"I'm Gideon" he said "I don't believe I saw you at my show."

"Nah," Dipper said, "I'm not into that kind of thing."

As they talked Mabel got a different game set up, Gideon took notice of how she treated her brother, and quickly came to the realization that the boy was blind. Dipper was very good at acting like a sighted person and Gideon probably wouldn't have found out right away if it wasn't for Mabel. He quickly came to the conclusion that Dipper was the person coming in between him and Mabel, forcing her to stay here to help him deal with his disability.

Gideon would admit though, having never really played video games before, it was kind of fun joining Mabel for a round or two. He wound up sitting in between the twins as he and Mabel played, though as Mabel narrated things, Dipper would give his advice.

Gideon wouldn't admit it, but when Mabel was beating him, and Dipper started to just give him advice, allowing the game to be drawn out, before helping him win, was kind of fun. As the game proclaimed his victory, Gideon wound up subconsciously jumping up to do a little dance, before turning and high-fiving Dipper, as Mabel pouted and groaned about how unfair they were being.

This little celebration however, had the negative effect of drawing Stan's attention. "What in the blazes are you doing in my living room!? Mabel, I am disappointed in you, how could you lie to me like that?"

Dipper patted the two's shoulders as he spoke. "I'll handle this guys."

As Gideon and Mabel sat down, Gideon was reminded of his original plan. His plan to ask Mabel out on a date. As he thought about this, Mabel decided to clean up the game stuff, thinking the fun was going to be over. Both of the kids were caught off guard however, as Stan walked back in.

"Gideon, it has been a bit of time since you and I became each other's competition. But I think I have been being too harsh with you. I am sure there is a word to express what I should say, but I have no idea what it is. So, I am going to just welcome you into my home as my niece and nephew's friend. Don't try to pull anything, and maybe stop being an obnoxious troll all the time, and I will try to be more hospitable. What do ya' say?"

Gideon stared at the man in a bit of surprise, looking and finding a similar look on Mabel's face. "I don't see why not."

Gideon returned the handshake that Stan had offered, right before Stan spoke again. "Well, I'm kicking all three of you runts out of the living room so I can enjoy my shows. Go hang out in the attic or something."

As Gideon and Mabel walked up to the attic, too surprised to really argue, they found Dipper waiting for them. "What spell did you use bro?"

Dipper rolled his eyes. "None, I explained to Stan a rather long and complex scam we are pulling on Gideon."

Mabel pouted at her brother as Gideon began to glare. Mabel stepped closer to her brother, "why would we scam Gideon? He hasn't done anything to us."

Dipper smirked. "Who said we're scamming Gideon?"

Mabel and Gideon both went to point out that Dipper just did, only for the two to realize that if they were scamming Gideon, Dipper wouldn't have said they were scamming Gideon, with Gideon in the room. Dipper wasn't blind enough to not notice the extra light blue blob next to her sparkly purple one.

Mabel narrowed her eyes, before a devious smirk formed on her face, as Gideon was still confused. "You scammed Stan? Why?"

Dipper shrugged "Mom and Dad are always on us to make more friends so I'm not going to let someone stop you from hanging out with someone.

—-

Over the next few days Mabel and Gideon hung out quite a bit, the boy got to show her his dressing room and the two gave each other makeovers. And Gideon sat and watched an episode of Duck-tective with the twins one night. While Dipper didn't have anything against the other boy he didn't get along with him the same way Mabel did.

One evening, Gideon managed to convince Mabel to tag along so he could show her the view from his warehouse, and this was the moment that Gideon had been waiting for. His chance to ask Mabel on a romantic date, with one of the most romantic backdrops in town. Dipper had declined when Mabel asked if he would join, seeing as Gideon had wanted to share his favorite view, something Dipper couldn't enjoy.

Gideon might admit at some point that he kind of felt bad that Dipper couldn't appreciate beauty anymore. But that day was not today, because he was entertaining the most beautiful girl he had ever met. "When I look out across this town, seeing all those little people down there, I feel like the king of all I survey. I guess that makes you my queen."

Mabel chuckled nervously as she heard Gideon say that. She and Dipper had been spending time and getting to know Gideon, and during that time, the boy might have thought he was being subtle, but Dipper still caught his whispers and mutterings. It also didn't take a genius to realize the boy lingered extra long whenever he was in close proximity to Mabel.

Or how his white blobby hair indicated where he was looking as Dipper was right behind him. Gideon was under the impression that Dipper was 100% blind, and Dipper convinced Mabel to let him continue to believe that. Both were glad that they did, because Gideon was giving off red flags, some of which he might have hidden if he knew the truth about Dipper's level of sight.

Gideon was giving signs that he had a crush, but he was at least a bit respectful when it came to Dipper's disability.. He never talked down to him, or insulted him, not to his face at least. But the way Gideon was talking was not something that Mabel liked.

For starters, it was in the book '101 Lines to Butter Her Up'. How Mabel knew about that book was a story for another time, but it was in there, and Mabel was not a fan of it. Gideon stopped hiding that he was staring at her with goo goo eyes when he spoke next.

"Mabel, I was hoping you would accompany me one of these nights on a date, a real date. Just the two of us, dinner at a restaurant, maybe a nightly stroll through the park."

She laughed nervously "what? Gideon, that is so nice of you, but we're just friends."

"Mabel I'm serious" Gideon said "I've never felt this close with anyone before."

"Gideon…" Mabel said she needed to shut this little crush down or risk hurting their friendship. "You're really nice and I like spending time with you… but I don't see you as any more than a friend."

"Please" Gideon begged "all I'm asking for is one little date. At least give me a chance."

"Oh…" Mabel frowned, conflicted "alright."

She didn't want to hurt the younger boy's feelings and she did want to stay friends with him. So one little date, just to let him get it out of his system, couldn't hurt. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?

—-

The twins sat on the floor of the living room playing cards, it was a special deck that had braille in the corner of each card so Dipper could easily find out what it was.

"It's not a 'date' date." Mabel said "it's just, you know, I didn't want to hurt his feelings and so I figured I'd throw him a bone."

Dipper picked up a card and ran his thumb over the braille before adding it to his hand. "Guys don't work that way. Mabel, I'm just a bit concerned that Gideon won't just, 'get it out of his system'. All I ask is for you to be careful, I don't want you going through another 'Jerry' incident.

Mabel snorted, laughing a little nervously. "Gideon isn't as bad as Jerry, he is too gentlemanly for that. Just wait, Gideon and I will have a fun dinner, and after, I will explain once more how much he means as my friend and how my feelings haven't changed. He'll understand, and though his crush won't just go away, things will go back to how they were before."

Dipper frowned, "just be careful sis."

As Mabel was about to reassure her brother, there was a knock on the door. "Don't worry bro, things will work out, trust me."

She answered the door was met with Gideon on horseback. "You ready for a night of enchantment my dear?"

—-

Mabel had a bad feeling from the start. She didn't like riding on the horse with Gideon, mostly because it kind of ruined that dream of riding off with her knight. Then Gideon had to pull a power play and make the workers allow the horse into the restaurant, and he continued to act as if he had won some big prize, when this pity date was anything but.

Mabel was miserable the whole time, her dinner was a alive, uncooked lobster, Gideon had his feet on the table, all the while insulting the waiter. And to top it all off, Mabel also had to listen to Gideon talk about himself all night, and not get a word in herself, just listening to Gideon talk himself up like he was the best thing since sliced bread. This was one terrible date, and Mabel was ready to hear her brother say 'I told you so' when she got home.

Well, not that Dipper wouldn't actually say it, but all the same. She was hungry, tired, and miserable. She just wanted to go home. Mabel had tried to make the best out of the situation but that was getting harder and harder as the date went on.

" Mabel," Gideon said, interrupting her thoughts, "tonight's date was a complete success. And tomorrow's date promises to top this one in every way!"

"Wait what?' She said firmly "Gideon, I said one date. This was it."

Things only went downhill from there, Gideon had trained a bird to fly in and deliver an invitation to some ball. And then a bunch of people showed up gushing over how cute they were. The next thing Mabel knew she was agreeing to be Gideon's date.

—-

"Hang on," Dipper said, "you agreed to a second date?"

Mabel nodded miserably, her mouth stuffed full of a PB&J sandwich and swallowed "I don't know what happened, he asked me and I couldn't say no!"

"How?" Dipper asked, "you say no to people all the time."

"I know!' She exclaimed "but this time was different, there were all these people watching us and they expected me to say yes. One lady said she would die if I didn't!"

"Okay, so Gideon used other people to make you go out with him." Dipper said "that is a major red flag." It reminded him of when people would be nice to him to impress the person that they liked because who would say no to someone who was friends with the 'poor blind kid.'

"I know," Mabel sighed "the problem is that I do like Gideon, as a friend slash little sister, so I didn't want to hurt his feelings."

"I know" Dipper said, "maybe you could call him up and explain your feelings to him. That way you won't be in public and you won't have to look at him."

Mabel nodded, "that's a good idea, I'll call him tomorrow."

"Do you want me to be there?" He asked.

"No," Mabel straightened her shoulders, determined. "I got this."

The next day Mabel dialed Gideon's phone number, she ended up getting his Dad on the phone but the man was more than happy to pass the phone unto his son.

"Hello my sugar cube," Gideon said.

"Hey Gideon" she sighed "I got some bad news, I can't go out with you on Thursday."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to date you" Mabel said "I like you as just a friend."

"What do you mean?" Gideon asked, sounding upset "we had such a fun time yesterday."

"Look, I agreed to one date to figure out my feelings," Mabel said, telling a tiny white lie "and I realized I don't feel anything."

"Well, maybe you need a second one," Gideon suggested.

"Even if I did want to go out with you" Mabel said "I can't."

"How come?"

Mabel sighed, "Dipper and I have plans that day." This wasn't technically a lie, the two of them have been wanting to go try and find a creature in the Journal, the Plaidypus, but they could always do it on a different day.

"So what you're saying is" Gideon said "Dipper is keeping us apart."

She frowned, unable to tell how Gideon was feeling from his tone "that's not really-"

The boy interrupted her, sounding more cheerful "well that's alright, these things happen after all."

"Thank you for understanding," she said with a sigh of relief.

—-

The rest of the week went by as normal, Dipper and Mabel went on a successful hunt for the Plaidypus and got to spend some more time with Soos and Wendy. Right now Mabel was working on a scrapbook with Soos' help so Wendy and Dipper were manning the gift shop by themselves. Luckily it was a slow day.

Then the phone rang.

Wendy was off on an undesignated break so Dipper answered it. "Hello?"

"Hello, this is Toby Determined, Gravity Falls Gossiper."

"Oh, hey man." Dipper said "sorry for accusing you of murder last week."

"Water under the bridge." Toby said "say, we want to interview you about whether you've seen anything unusual in this here town since you've arrived."

"Really?" Dipper asked, pleasantly surprised "yeah sure. I would love to."

"Great!" Toby then rattled off an address before hanging up.

Dipper then frowned, how was he supposed to get there? He did not know Gravity Falls well enough to find anything on his own. Normally he would ask Mabel but after everything that happened with Gideon, she deserved to relax and not worry about helping him. Plus, he was worried she would try and stop him from going.

Thankfully Wendy came back from… wherever she disappeared to. "You seem to be thinking pretty hard."

Dipper lit up with a brilliant idea. "Hey Wendy, you live here, could you lend me a hand with finding this address?" And rambled it off.

There was a pause as Wendy wrote it down and consisted it. "Yeah, I could probably find it. Why?" Dipper quickly explained and she chuckled.

"What?"

"Nothing," Wendy said. "Let me just leave a note for Stan and then we can go."

"Great!" Dipper said "I'll go grab my notes."

As Dipper ran off Wendy grabbed her ax, something felt off about this and she had a feeling she would need it. She scribbled out a note for Stan and Mabel explaining where they were going and the address, just in case, she also didn't want them to worry.

Wendy hadn't hung out with a blind person before, and the simple act of leading them to a specific location was a bit more challenging than she thought. He kept getting distracted by the sounds of traffic, and the fading light of the evening sun messed with what little sight he did have, which caused the need to hold his hand while he had his cane in the other. Wendy would admit that having to remember a pair of sunglasses and a cane whenever you go somewhere, rather than just her ax, would be something she might have had some trouble with. But she supposed Dipper was used to this.

Wendy finally found the address. It being a warehouse caused all sorts of alarms to go off in her head. "Dipper, are you sure you remembered the address correctly?"

"Toby said it was 412 Gopher Road" he said.

Wendy shrugged as she led the boy into the warehouse, it was lowly lit and she found Gideon, sitting in a chair, stroking a small doll of himself. "Okay, this is both creepy, and oddly silly."

"What is it?" Dipper asked, unable to see well thanks to the poor lighting.

"It's Gideon," Wendy said "and he's petting a doll of himself."

Dipper wrinkled his nose "why is Gideon here."

"I'm guessing the interview was fake," Wendy sighed.

Gideon chuckled. "Well, I didn't expect you to bring Miss Corduroy."

Dipper raised a brow with Wendy as the girl responded. "Are you telling me, you expected a blind person to navigate a town he hasn't lived in for more than a couple weeks?"

Gideon blushed, having not actually thought of that. "That doesn't matter. What does matter, is the fact that you, Dipper Pines, are getting in between me and my peach dumpling."

Dipper rolled his eyes, "this is Jerry all over again. At least you have the guts to do it yourself."

Gideon took offense. "I am nothing like Jerry, Jerry wishes he was half of what I am!"

After a bit of a pause, Gideon blinked as he realized what he said. "Who's Jerry?"

"Nobody important" Dipper waved it off, gripping his cane a bit tighter. His heart was pounding. Gideon was sounding more and more creepy as time went on. Was this kid unhinged? He sounded unhinged. Maybe explaining that Jerry was Mabel's first boyfriend wouldn't work out for him.

Wendy stepped forward. "Okay little dude, take a chill pill, and let's talk this out. Apparently you have a lot on your mind."

Wendy was cut off as Gideon glared. "It doesn't matter who Jerry is, or that Miss Corduroy is here. I will get rid of the only person that is keeping my peach dumpling from being with me. And once you are gone, Mabel will always have time for me."

Wendy and Dipper were caught off guard as the merchandise began to float out of the crates, floating about the warehouse, the blue glow lighting up the warehouse enough to give Dipper some sight back. "But, you're fake!" He yelled, freaking out.

Gideon smirked, "does this look fake to you, boy?"

—-

Mabel stepped into the Giftshop from the living room. "Hey Dipperoni! Me and Soos are done scrapbooking, and he had to go check on his Abuelita, so I came to party-crash your alone time with Wendy! Ooh, what's this?"

Mabel took notice of the letter left by Wendy, and after reading it, stared in a bit of shock and confusion. "Why would Dipper and Wendy go to Gideon's warehouse?" A sense of dread came over her "I am hoping this is some secret rendezvous and not Gideon's doing. I better catch those two kissing, because I do not want to deal with another Jerry."

Mabel tried to sound upbeat, though her nervousness was plain for all to see. She knew what was going on, and her denial was not the strongest. She is going to miss having Gideon as a friend.

—-

Dipper and Wendy were having some trouble avoiding everything, Wendy held his hand and helped him dodge stuff. Because, unfortunately, cane skills did not apply to things in the air…. And Gideon also took it when Dipper tried to hit him with it. Thankfully, Dipper was able to get a vague idea of where some things were, because of the blue glow that surrounded stuff when Gideon used his amulet to lift them.

Dipper groaned. "Dude, can't you just accept that you're too young for her, and she doesn't want to take your relationship further?"

Gideon glared as he shouted. "Lies! Mabel loves me, she just has to be responsible for your sorry excuse for an existence! You are so useless, you take away her time for herself, and she can't spend time with me."

As Gideon ranted, Wendy and Dipper were caught off guard as they were suddenly lifted, caught in the blue glow that had everything else. "And once you're out of the way, she won't have any more reason to deny me."

Gideon emphasized his point, as he drew attention to the large hedge clippers he pulled from a different crate, as they neared Dipper's neck. Wendy glared, "if you continue what you look to be doing, you will not like what I do."

Gideon frowned, looking between Dipper and the shears, before looking back at her. "You're right, this is no way to go about things."

The shears suddenly dropped, as Gideon grinned evilly as Wendy sighed in relief. "After all, Wendy Corduroy wouldn't use a pair of shears to kill a boy."

As Gideon said that, Wendy's ax was raised with the blue glow, it now being the thing that was going to decapitate Dipper. "Thanks for the idea, murderer."

Wendy widened her eyes, her thought process coming to a stop as the warehouse doors slammed open. "Gideon, I've come to negotiate!"

Gideon rubbed his chin, "was that a reference? That felt like a reference."

Dipper shrugged. "I don't see it."

Gideon frowned at the smirking boy, if the boy wasn't blind and wasn't able to notice the ax, ready to execute him, he would think the boy was mocking him. Wendy was just glad that Mabel got here in time, she did not want to watch her new little friend be decapped, and especially not be blamed for it. She was totally burning all her dad's plushies of this little brat, as well as aiming her graffiti happy friend to work on his walls.

After realizing who spoke, the boy turned around in shock to see Mabel and dropped the two of them into a pile of boxes "Mabel, my marshmallow."

Wendy was quick to grab her ax when she realized they were let go, though in order to do so, she had to pretty much jump Dipper, meaning when she sighed in relief and layed down, she noticed how quick his heart was beating as she felt it when she rested her head on his chest.

Poor kid was probably near a heart attack at this point.

Mabel shook her head, "I can't be your marshmallow Gideon, I just don't feel the same way. I wish I could be what you want me to be, but I can't. That would be stringing you along, and may even make you miss a chance at a real relationship." She walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder "we can still be friends, and keep giving each other makeovers, would you like that?"

Gideon blinked, taking a conservative step closer, "do you really mean that?"

Mabel then grabbed the amulet from around Gideon's neck. "Are you serious? You tricked my brother, went to murder him, and were going to pin the blame on our best friend. I can't even trust you anymore, let alone hang out with you. What were you thinking?"

Mabel rushed past Gideon as she went and checked on her brother and friend. Gideon was in shock as he grinded his teeth. Both Mabel and Wendy were looking Dipper over, taking notice that Gideon's hold wasn't as steady as they thought, seeing as Dipper had a cut along his collar bone.

Gideon stood there, boiling in rage as he watched the girl he loved dote on the blind boy. With a roar, Gideon tackled Dipper, which wound up with them both falling out a window. Wendy and Mabel both shouted in worry for Dipper, as they jumped after. Wendy used her ax, trusty and durable as ever, to slide safely down the cliffside, while Mabel remembered to use the amulet and levitated them down, stopping Wendy from doing any more damage to her ax.

Just as Gideon and Dipper were about to hit the ground, Mabel got close enough to catch them within the glow of the amulet, saving both their lives. Mabel shouted down after she let both boys bring their attention to her, as she slowly lowered herself and Wendy. "Gideon, I don't love you, and now, I am having trouble even seeing you as a friend. Was everything between us, all just some ploy to force me to date you? Did you ever even want to be just friends? Was I always just some object for you to want?"

As Mabel safely placed herself and Wendy on the ground, she slammed the amulet into the ground, shattering it, ignoring Gideon's shout of "no!"

Mabel took a deep breath, "Gideon, I thought you were my friend, but apparently I was never yours. Go away, and leave us alone."

Gideon glared at the three, as he slowly stepped backwards, into the shadow. "You haven't seen the last of, wittle, ol, me."

—-

Mabel and Dipper were trudging into the shack, Wendy having dropped them off before going home herself. Stan was sitting and watching TV, as he noticed them from the corner of his eye. "Everything okay with you kids?"

The two groaned. "Gideon is more trouble than he's worth."

Stan chuckled, "amen to that. You two look like you could use some rest after dealing with him, so I won't keep you up. Though maybe I shouldn't have pretended to fall for your scam."

The twins looked back at Stan in shock. "You knew?"

Stan smirked, "bit of advice, don't try to con a professional conman. You both are still fifty years too early to pull one over on me, but good try though squirt. I do hope you both learned your lesson about trusting people that I say are bad news though, that brat is nothing but trouble."

Both kids chuckled as they continued their trip to the attic.

As they laid down to get some rest after their day, Mabel decided to tease her brother. "So, how did it feel to have an older girl throw herself onto you?"

Dipper blushed at the memory. "I have no idea what you are talking about."

"Okay" Mabel teased "wink." He rolled his eyes. And Mabel's mood went somber. "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Because of me, you got kidnapped twice by guys wanting to get to me."

"That's not your fault," Dipper said.

"Yes it is" Mabel sighed "both times I used you as a reason why I couldn't be with them."

Dipper got off his bed and moved to sit next to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "It's not your fault" he said again "it's their fault. And yes, maybe you could use that excuse a little less, but I really don't mind as long as it means you stay safe."

Mabel bit her lip, people already tried to hurt her brother enough for who he is. She didn't want to be another reason why. "I guess…."

"You saved me" Dipper said "with both Gideon and the gnomes, I owe you one. And besides, the Gideon thing was partly my fault. If I hadn't fallen for his tricks he wouldn't have tried to kill me."

"It's not your fault!" She protested.

"And it's not yours either."
