Hello everyone! I know, it's been too long again!

I know I say this a lot…but I think I found a way to get these puppies out faster! Seems to be working pretty well so far!

And I do this a lot, but I've been hearing some things going on with the franchise that's worth discussing. Wait until you finish reading the chapter.

Sasuke stared in disbelief. Over the years since he gave up on revenge and agreed to Tsunade's terms, he didn't believe he would ever reconnect with his old team. After all that he did and what happened, how could he? Sure, he was able to guard them a few years ago as Saitama. It felt good to see them again, to watch them start a family. But to him that was not a true reunion; he was a stranger to them that entire time. A part of him wanted to reveal the truth, but what would happen then? Though he was confident Naruto would forgive him, he wasn't sure about Sakura.

Sure, she used to be madly in love with him. Key words being used to be. They were children back then, and now they were adults. And the way he saw them together, knowing they had children...

Too many variables. He would have better odds sticking his tongue in a hornet's nest.

He figured that they found out they were harboring him, and decided to let it be. In his mind, it was closure enough for him and his friends. Now, he was on his way to save Midoriiro, and now this! It wasn't that he began having doubts about Midoriiro, but Sakura's presence complicated things. Cautiously, Sasuke took a step forward. "Sakura…"

Sakura suddenly tensed and brought her kunai in alignment with his neck, looking hostile. Sasuke's face softened at first. This was more than not returning her feelings and becoming a missing nin all those years ago. His attack on Konoha…he must have hurt her worse than he imagined. Sasuke sighed, looking into his mind's eye. Midoriiro, pregnant and alone came to his mind. No matter his wrongs, she and the child to be took priority. "Are you with them?"

Sakura's eyes eased up a bit. "What?"

"Are you in on this?!" Sasuke shouted. He had no right to be mad at Sakura over anything, but when the woman he loved was in danger he would cross any line to ensure her safety.

"To apprehend you?" She asked.

"You weren't told, were you?" He backed away, but did not take his eyes off her. He rolled over one of the ANBU nin, causing him to groan. "You know exactly how they knew I would be here?" Sakura's eyes widened in realization. "They kidnapped someone dear to me. She's carrying my child, if she hasn't given birth already." He said. Sasuke lowered his bo, but still remained wary of Sakura. He walked towards the captain, kicking him over and eliciting a groan. "Where is she?" The captain stared back, and began to laugh wheezingly. Sasuke pressed his stick against his throat harder. "Where is she?" He repeated.

"I gave orders to the bounty hunters." The captain said. "If they were not to hear back from me or anyone on the squad within 24 hours from now, your woman and possibly, your bastard, is gone."

Sasuke's eyes twitched, but to the Root agent that may as well have been a howl in anguish. His eyes narrowed, then closed…and revealed ice blue irises. "One way or another, you're telling me where they are."

"We know of your clan's Tsukiyomi." The root agent declared. "We were trained in genjutsu torture; even if you can make me think the pain is lasting for days, I won't break."

"You trained to resist only things mortal men can imagine." Sasuke growled, leaning in closer. His eyes leaned closer to the Root's, who began to sweat in fear. "Last chance." The agent only clammed up further.

Suddenly, a hand snuck in behind captain, pushing his head up. Sakura quickly took a vial and jammed it into his neck. The ninja went limp and collapsed. For a moment, Sasuke was shocked. Then, he became furious. "I needed him-!"

"He's not dead." Sakura silenced him, with a tone that surprised the two. Holding the vial, she said "Sodium Pentathol." Sakura then smashed it. "Truth serum."

"Is it really?" Sasuke asked. "Orochimaru found it unreliable." He immediately wanted to bite his tongue; he hadn't even thought about his dark mentor for years, and with the damage he made him do…

The root captain groaned, tilting his head and fluttering open his eyes.

"Yeah, I bet your master found it unreliable." Sakura snapped. "Why patiently manipulate a doped enemy when you can torture others for fun?" Sasuke said nothing. Perhaps Orochimaru had his biases in medicine and just said that as justification to hurt others. It wasn't relevant to the task at hand. He watched as Sakura helped her captain sit up against a rock. "How are you feeling?"

"Like shit." He slurred. He seemed somewhat aware of his surroundings, but it was like he didn't care.

"What did you do yesterday?"

"Prepared for the mission."

It seemed she was asking leading questions. "What is the primary objective of your current mission?"

"P…Power. For the village." He said.

Whether he misunderstood the question or was trying to get around the serum was unknown, but Sakura simply followed through. "How does Uchiha Sasuke lead to that?"

It took him a moment. "U…Uchiha is expecting a child."

Sakura's eyes widened in surprise. "And you wish to end the line?" She asked.

"Rokudaime-sama wishes to bring the newest Uchiha back under our command, and hopefully, all his progeny." He said.

"Shit." Sakura stood up. "That's why they wanted me on the mission." They needed someone who could deliver a baby, and possibly set her up against Sasuke.

"Where is Midoriiro?" Sasuke asked the drugged captain. "Spit it out!"

"She's in a cabin. A day's travel from here." He seemed to struggle for an answer, or maybe he was trying to fight the medication. "D-due West." Sasuke simply spun without a word and took off walking.

Sakura sighed. "The more things change, the more they stay the same." Sakura still had one more thing to ask. "Who are these people you are working for?"

"Bounty Hunters. The leader is unknown, but he is powerful. Powerful enough to act as insurance against Uchiha."

"Right now, he should be just as worried against me." Sakura looked back to Sasuke, who was almost over the horizon. "Better hurry." Sakura turned back to the captain, putting her fingers together. "Sleep." The captain's eyes rolled back, and he was lulled to sleep. It was a sleeping genjutsu; most would have simply killed him on the spot, but whatever underhanded tactics they were using, they were still Konoha nin, still people of her village. With the current Hokage in charge, they would likely walk free in no time, but she promised herself that one day they will face justice.

Her husband's justice.

She looked back to where Sasuke took off to. "Just like old times." Sakura took off at top speed.

Sasuke sensed someone approach him and looked back. He spun and pointed his bo at Sakura. Hiding his feelings, he said "I don't want to fight you. I understand you have a score to settle, and I'll take your revenge head on if you want it. But not until Midoriiro and my child are safe. And if you try to keep me from her…"

"You haven't changed." Sakura sighed, taking a step forward, pushing the stick away from her face. Sasuke's look softened a bit in surprise, not expecting her fearlessness. "Always thinking of everything in black and white." Walking past him, she looked forward. "This Midoriiro is pregnant with your child? The squad had me on to deliver it."

"If you do-"

"If you force my hand, Sasuke, you and you alone will be the target of my wrath. Your child is innocent, and if the worst happens, I promise your child will be raised free." Sakura took a deep breath. "I'm aware of the contract you have with my shisho. I didn't agree with it, but out of respect I abided by it. But if I see you step out of line, I'm taking you in! Hot, or cold!"

Sasuke didn't display any emotion, but truth be told, he was impressed. Turning back forward, he said "Do as you wish." The two traveled in silence.

The journey was predictably awkward due to the silence between them. The lack of communication was due to a weird mixture of focusing on the moment, Sakura's mistrust in him…and Sasuke simply not changing much in that regard in over 10 years. Sad thing was, this was almost no different from back then. She thought back to their genin days: she may not have been able to control how she felt, but she should have realized at some point Sasuke would never have felt for her the way she did him. Even so, she felt relieved actually. Power of having no expectations, she supposed.

They traveled for a long time; they were still hours away from the destination. Finally, Sakura spoke. "Sasuke. We should stop!"

Sasuke stopped to look back at her with ire. "Stop?!" He growled. "They have my family, and could kill them at any moment! And you have the gall to-"

Sakura walked in front of him, and slapped him across the face. Though she put none of her famous strength into it, Sasuke was still left flummoxed. "You've been at this longer than I have! I can see you were already exhausted when we attacked you! If we continue, you will not be at your best! It's too risky! Do you want to get there in a hurry and be sloppy? Or do you want to do this right?" Sasuke slowly stood straight, looking at her absolutely stunned. Sakura looked down to the forest floor. "Three hours. That should be enough for you."

Sasuke followed after her into a small forest where they would not be obvious targets. Sasuke shot his hand up as Sakura tossed him a canteen, catching it. He then felt something bounce off his shoulder. Realizing Sakura tossed him something else, he reached down and felt on the ground. He recognized the soldier pill, and picked it up. Sakura immediately figured out what was happening. "You're losing your eyesight." She said.

Sasuke sighed, nodding. He quickly swallowed the pill; he felt a lot better, but he still needed some rest. "The side effect of using my new sharingan." Sasuke explained as he took some water, both ignoring the etiquette of sharing a canteen. "I only used it once, back when I was defending you. It's not that bad right now; I can make out most shapes."

Sakura sighed. "This new sharingan; did you have to kill someone to activate it?"

Sasuke slid on the back of a boulder. "No, no. Thankfully nothing as messed up as the Magenkyo. It's…hard to describe. But it's in many ways the Magenkyo's opposite. The Magenkyo requires a murder, the new one merely needs resolve…but the price for its use is even steeper from what I understand."

Sakura sat facing him. Neither bothered to set a fire; it would attract attention and they weren't going to stay long. Still, there were personal matters that needed to be addressed. Sakura feared she wouldn't get another opportunity. "I need to know something."

"What?"

"When you sent Orochimaru to infiltrate our village, did you give him specific orders?"

"Just to get close to Tsunade, any way he could." Sasuke gave a sour, maybe even frightened look. "He killed someone close to you, didn't he?"

Sakura took a moment. "Shizune, my senpai under Tsunade. Orochimaru killed her and used her skin. She even killed her pet pig when he figured it out." Sasuke gave a look. Sakura couldn't quite pin it…but from what she remembered of Sasuke's expressions back in the day, she guessed it would start with surprise, then disappointment. "What? No apology?"

"And what good would that do?" Sasuke sighed. He sounded tired, but not annoyed. "It doesn't change what I did, and if I somehow had sense back then to tell him to spare anyone specific he would only kill someone else…if he would even follow those orders. The swordsmen didn't." Sasuke then looked to Sakura. "And if I had not left Kabuto to his own means…"

"Stop." Sakura hissed. She hugged her knees and began to tremble. She was able to accept what happened to her, but the thoughts of Kabuto still sent shivers down her spine.

Sasuke seemed to understand, and said no more. "My quest for revenge…was a huge mistake I can never take back. I should have listened to you all." Still silence.

Sasuke resigned to turn over and drift off, when Sakura spoke once again. "This woman of yours…Midoriiro…what is she like?"

Sasuke perked up in surprise, and seemed to give a slight smile. Almost. "Midoriiro also has regrets. She was a mist swordsman."

Sakura looked up in surprise. "Was she-?"

"No, no. I didn't meet her until after the attack; at the time I couldn't locate her. And even if I could, she would have had no part in my scheme. She escaped so she wouldn't have to do the terrible things the others were all too eager to. She had her own personal matters too."

Sakura sighed. "Seems like we all do." Sakura sighed. "One more thing: just what are you going to do after this? Do you honestly think you can raise a family, in your situation?"

Sasuke seemed to think for a moment. "No. I suppose not. We didn't plan on it, but it happened. Midoriiro always wanted to be a mother. And, after all I had done, I guess a part of me wanted to leave something pure on this earth before death came for me. Whether from Konoha, others…or against all odds, old age."

Sakura nodded. "Get some sleep. I'll wake you in time. I promise."

Sasuke leaned into the boulder, at ease with her that nothing would happen while he slept.

Their respite didn't last long. Sakura slowly woke, and judging by the color of the sky, dawn was just approaching. Sakura quickly got up, not bothering with stretching. Mission sleep rarely called for it.

She looked forward, seeing Sasuke against the stone. Sakura began to approach him, but hesitated. She then moved forward, now a few centimeters before him. "Sasuke." She whispered. "Time to get up." He didn't move. He was probably more tired than he let on. Which meant she had to be a bit more forward. "Shit." She thought.

This was going to be bad.

She gently reached over to touch his shoulder. She barely pushed against his skin, and Sasuke sprung awake. He rose up, swinging his stick with all the force he could muster. Sakura put up her hand, and with her strength, stopped it dead.

Sasuke looked right at her, but at that moment, he wasn't actually SEEING her. It took a moment of him pushing before his eyes became lucid and he softened, before looking terrified. He backed up, stumbling back into a tree. "Sakura…"

"It's okay." Sakura assured him, holding up her hand. "It was just a stick."

"I could have- "

"Sasuke, it's okay." Sakura got up to his level. "I went in prepared. I figured you've been sleeping with one eye open, so to speak."

Sasuke stood up straight. "It seems even with the best of intentions, all I ever do is put you in danger, if not outright hurt you."

Sakura frowned slightly. She knew it to be true, and yet, she never wanted that harsh truth to be spoken aloud. "We can talk about it later; it's a conversation that's long overdue. But for right now, we need to get your wife."

Sakura didn't notice that Sasuke became flustered. "H-hey! She's not my- "

Sakura took off before he could finish that. Probably for the best; it felt awkward to just tell her he was not legally attached to Midoriiro.

Then again, considering what she and Naruto went through, who was she to judge?

Shinachiku had a nightmare in the middle of the night, which in turn upset Hanami from her own sleep. After a quick change, Naruto let them both snuggle in his bed. A part of him was proud that his presence helped, but he had a feeling if Sakura was home with him, this wouldn't be necessary. It wasn't just Sakura's absence that was bothering them; Yuji and Iori assured them they both slept well during their honeymoon.

No, they were genuinely worried their mother was not coming back.

Whether they had some sort of sixth sense, or his own negative energy fed their fears, he couldn't say. And he wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer. Breakfast was rather quiet, which didn't sit well with anyone. Figuring just letting things be as they were would only make things worse, Naruto opted to take the two kids to the park. Though they were still down, they managed some rhythm in their step.

When they found the park, kids were playing in the sandbox. "Go ahead and have fun." He said. As his kids went to approach the others, they immediately began to mingle. It seemed to be going well, when one of the mothers picked up her toddler and walked away. Another did the same. Soon all seven of the kids who were there when Naruto arrived left with their parents, leaving Shina and Hanami the sole occupants of the sandbox.

Naruto looked down at his lap. He thought back to his own childhood, when he would try to play with the likes of Kiba, Shikamaru and Lee. They all liked him well enough, but their parents always pulled them away in the end. Those were the nice ones, the ninja who had some understanding of the sacrifice his father made. The ones who did not know would call him monster, sometimes threw stones at him. "Nothing's changed." He thought grimly.

"Would this bench be taken?"

Naruto looked up to see Hinata, in a casual dress with Setsuna by her side, holding her hand. "O-oh, Hinata! Sure, go ahead!"

Hinata nodded, and said to Setsuna "Looks like Hanami-chan is building a sandcastle. Have fun with her."

Setsuna nodded and scampered off towards the siblings. "Setsuna-chan!" Hanami waved happily.

"S-stop calling me chan!" Setsuna said in protest.

"You don't call boys that, Ne-chan!" Her brother told her.

"I call you 'chan'!" Hanami shot back.

In spite of their bickering, the three got to work on their castle like there was really nothing wrong. "They get along well, don't they?" Naruto asked.

"I think so." Hinata agreed. "You ever think of putting them on the same team?"

"I…" Naruto scratched his head as he hesitated to speak.

Noticing he seemed lost, Hinata asked "What's wrong, Naruto?"

The blond sighed. This was something he should share with his wife above all else…but… "Hinata, please be honest with me. Do you think I would make a good Hokage?"

Hinata chuckled. "Why, Naruto! What a question! You'd make a great Hokage! And that's not just MY opinion; all of our friends are in agreement!" She then added "Shikamaru's a bit worried though; he says your heart is in the right place, but that you're a bit naive. He thinks having him on as an advisor would help."

"For what it's worth, he was my first choice for that. If…if I, you know. Get it."

"You will."

"But…but what if I don't want it anymore?"

Hinata looked at him stunned. "Is that true? You no longer wish to be Hokage?"

"I don't know. Maybe." He sighed. "It's just…a lot has happened. I wanted to prove myself to the village. But ever since the Sage training…I don't know if it's worth it anymore. Years of undying service, where did it get us? If anything, I think it's gotten worse."

"It's how the people see you now, isn't it?" Naruto nodded sadly. Hinata turned and looked away, clearly saddened. "I understand our view of the world changes as we get older. I can't say whether yours is the right one…but it has to be your choice." Taking a deep breath, she said "Talk it over with Sakura when she gets back."

"She's on a mission." Naruto sighed.

"So?" Naruto stumbled for a moment, and Hinata caught on. "You two had a fight, didn't you?" Naruto only sighed and nodded, rubbing his face. Hinata didn't pry further, she had a feeling what it was about. "She's coming back." Hinata said confidently. "I just hope neither of you said anything so terrible."

"I'd like to think not." Naruto mumbled. "Where's Hero?"

"On a mission. And no, we didn't have a fight. Not this time around."

"The two of you fight?" Naruto blinked.

"Not often. But it happens." Hinata shrugged.

"I…I just can't see it. Just doesn't seem to be…you."

Hinata turned, giving Naruto an odd smile. "Naruto…if you think I would never speak my mind or be pushed too far, you truly don't know me. Why, on that basis, I would think you lucked out with Sakura."

Naruto's face began to turn a bit blue. "Point is, what you and Sakura went through is no different than any other married couple. You both just need time and space for a bit, that's all."

Naruto looked forward, and suddenly, felt a million times lighter. "Thanks, Hinata." He nodded. "I needed that. I…"

"You don't have to say anymore." Hinata held her hand and smiled. "We weren't meant to be, but that doesn't mean we can't value each other as friends. To be honest, looking back, I think I prefer it this way."

Naruto leaned back and smiled. "I'm glad. And I'm sorry; I shouldn't have assumed you didn't get past all that. You're stronger than that, and sometimes I forget."

"Daddy, Daddy!" Hanami ran up. "Look what we made!"

Naruto looked forward, and his eyes almost bulged out at the sandcastle the tots had made. It was possibly the best one Naruto had ever seen, with details not even most adults could capture! "Holy-! You three made this!?"

"Uh-huh!" Shinachiku came forward, taking his dad by the hand. "Let me show you!"

At that moment, the family enjoyed their creation together, forgetting, at least for the moment, their troubles.

Sakura and Sasuke jumped close to each other, but didn't say a word. The awkwardness between them was a factor, but at this moment both were just focused on Midorriro and the baby. Finally, they reached what seemed to be the fort. It wasn't particularly gaudy or fortified, but perhaps that made it perfect for ninja. "I can sense them." Sasuke said.

Sakura looked at her impromptu partner sadly. Even with the animosity she felt earlier, realizing Sasuke's eyesight was deteriorating and had to compensate with other senses…she truly pitied him. After Shizune, she didn't think she could. "Mercy. Pity. That's what led to you crippling Kabuto instead of killing him." Her inner self said. "And remember how he came back to return the favor."

"This isn't like that." She told her inner self, a part of her she had not heard from in a long long time. "Even then, Sasuke was different from Kabuto. He wasn't evil. Just…rageful. Out of control."

"Is that really much better?"

Sakura found she couldn't answer that. "We could take them out one by one…but it will be risky, Sasuke. They're good."

"You would know." Sasuke sneered.

Sakura felt a familiar pang in her heart that nearly turned to white hot anger. She took a deep breath…and spoke calmly. "Sasuke…I didn't take this mission just for the money, or for the village. I'm not sure you are up to date, but our current Hokage…let's just say I have my suspicions. I'm here to confirm those hunches above all else."

Sasuke sighed. "I'm sorry." He said. "Having to live with what I did, and worrying about where I go from there…I just never expected to be happy, you know?"

Sakura was silent for a moment. In the midst of her confused feelings, she never considered the possibility that someone who had fallen as far as Sasuke could love again. Or ever. "Focus on the now, Sakura." She told herself. "I'm sorry too, okay?" Sasuke blinked in surprise. "I suppose we both have a lot of things we need to get off our chests. But not now." She turned back to the guards. "As I was saying, at least one of them is bound to spot us. And when that happens, she's dead. Maybe the baby too."

"Then what do you suggest?"

"Full frontal assault."

Sasuke's eyes widened. "Are you crazy?!"

"I never said anything about fighting them."

"Have we heard back from that Konoha squad yet?" The head asked.

"They should have acquired the target yesterday. If it was a mere delay, we should have received a bird by now." One of the others said. "Something's wrong."

The head hunter was an old man but incredibly well-built, dressed in a black ninja suit with armor parts on his joints. He sported a white goatee and mohawk, making him absolutely fearsome, even in his old age. His men were dressed similarly, their Hann'ya masks positioned above their faces. "I dunno. If even half the stories I heard about Uchihas are true, no wonder something went wrong." The one on his left said. "I doubt they have anyone who can take him down."

"I heard they had someone who could. But…"

"But what?"

"They weren't sure they could get her." The other spat. "Women…"

"No, the team had to have intercepted him." The head said. "But I can't say with confidence they defeated him." He turned back to the tied, gagged and heavily pregnant Midoriiro. "Nothing." He stroked his chin, agitated. "If the Konoha nin failed, this will be a problem."

"Then we put a knife to her neck."

"Idiot!" The second said. "If we're forced to kill her, the prize dies with her!" He turned back to the woman. "Why don't we just cut her open? She's due anytime now, right?"

"Don't even think about it." The head turned to him. "A C-section is a completely different thing than randomly cutting someone down. At best, you'll make the baby an amputee while killing her."

Midoriiro suddenly screamed through her gag. "Aw, what now?" One of them stood up, intending to smack her a good one. Once he was above her, he saw a red-purplish mass explode from between her legs. "Eww! I think she shat herself!" He yelled in disgust.

"That's not shit, you idiot! Her water broke! The baby's coming!"

The head growled. So many things could go wrong! Labor was a potentially dangerous endeavor; he cared nothing for the woman, but the baby could die too if they didn't get a handle on it. On the other hand, if Uchiha got here undefeated, he would have no choice but to take the baby hostage.

And he wasn't sure if he wouldn't have to follow through on the threat.

The guards did their usual patrol, bored out of their minds. But as the saying went, "Those who wish for trouble are never ready for it when it comes." Even so, they yearned for combat, or at least for the intercepting team to come in and break the monotony.

"Prepare yourselves!"

They pointed their bos in the direction of the sound to see a man boldly charge at them. Quickly he was within their sights, and they recognized him. The Uchiha! The Last Uchiha! The Konoha team failed, and they were ill-prepared for such a formidable foe! Regardless, they stood their ground and stayed in a defensive position. Sasuke was upon them in an instant, his own bo cocked back. They weren't sure if they would be able to block it, even with their fine wood.

Then, the Uchiha balked.

Something hit him hard, even his stoic face faltered under the pain. As he skidded back, a purple haze hit him in the face. He coughed up a fit, before he jerked involuntarily and fell to the ground.

The two looked in awe of their savior. She was…unexpected, to put it lightly. "Take me to whoever is in charge." She demanded.

They were about to protest; while they were thankful for the help, they still had a job to do! But when they got a look on her hiate, they balked. "Are you with them? The team?"

"Unfortunately, I'm all that's left."

As the head was panicking at the incoming birth, his guardsmen came in. "What are you doing?!" The head shouted.

"Sir, Uchiha has been captured. She is carrying him inside right now!"

"She?!" He asked incredulously. "I was promised a squad!"

"I was all that was needed."

His eyes widened as the young woman in question indeed carried the Uchiha on her soldier like a sack of yams. He was promised they would have a local ally qualified to take him down. He just didn't expect it to be a woman! "It's true? You took him down? Single-handedly?"

"It is. We saw it for ourselves."

"I was his teammate. I was sent among the team to apprehend and eliminate him if necessary." She paused, looking behind them. "And now, I understand my primary role for this mission."

"And that is?"

"To aid in the birth of his progeny." Sakura answered.

There you go for now.

So, some things to talk about what's going on in Boruto. These are things I've heard from word of mouth, so if I'm incorrect do set the record straight with me.

So in Boruto there is a character, Aida, I believe her name was. It seems not only does she have the power to make others fall in love with her, but, upon Kawakii's request, she can also alter memories and reality. It seems she has done so where Naruto and Hinata recognize Kawakii as their own and no memory of Boruto.

Well, that's….interesting.

(Insert Nelson Muntz laugh here)

Anyway, it seems this isn't the first time she did this. THAT opens up a huge can of worms. Are they planning a multiverse!?

There's also a NarutoXBoruto game coming out, and it seems they've got a new character for it called Nanashi

Nanashi, according to what I've read on Tumblr, means "Nameless". So this character's identity is something they want kept secret. Why?

Well…

She has long blond hair. She has bluish-green eyes, a fairly prominent forehead that's covered by her bangs, she wears what seems to be a custom Akatsuki shirt that's orange with a pink hue, and where's shorts that seem to be an inverse of Sakura's Shippuden shorts.

YOU SEE WHERE I'M GOING WITH THIS!?

Now, we should temper expectations. It's most likely that this is just a random character with no direct connection with either Naruto or Sakura and any similarities are coincidental.

But what if she's somehow their daughter?

Well, here are the possibilities I can think of, but I'll say they're all an odd way to go about it.

One, she's a clone. Boruto has established clones exist, as I think the Koshin character is a clone of Jiraiya. It would be the most logical and less convoluted way to go about it.

It begs the question why that combo? The argument for the current pairing is they need the bloodlines for the plot. What's the genetic benefit of NaruSaku in this universe? And how would this affect canon? Once this story is done, where is she going to go and how is that revelation going to impact the characters?

Second possibility, she's from the RTN/Limited Tsukuyomi universe, meaning she's the daughter of Menma and Sakura-2. Again, interesting.

But why this route? RTN isn't canon, so why bring it in? Also, why go about appealing to us this way? Menma isn't Naruto, and quite frankly none of the other characters are as we wanted them in the main universe. And if she's from there, she has to go back, so what's the point to begin with?

Third possibility, Nanashi is indeed from another alternate universe where Naruto and Sakura did get together.

But this also runs into the same problems as the last one, plus are we ever going to be told the story of THAT universe?

It's an interesting way go about a multiverse, if that is the goal, but instead of testing the waters I would like it if like Gundam or Fate the franchise just went all in on it.

And I'm not sure if I trust anyone to do a multiverse correctly with this franchise. I'm worried the people in charge will either have some agenda or bias with these stories. I'd also worry about their presentation, and what is Kishimoto's role in all this? If they don't commit to this idea, then it's going to go nowhere and Kishimoto could just ignore it completely.

Those are just my thoughts on the matter. What are yours?
