TIME: 8:45 AM

Even a planet such as Planet Popstar had a thriving civilization. Albeit, the technology was about five years behind, and most of the countries were tiny monarchies run by people who really shouldn't run a monarchy. One little country in particular was different. It was at least ten years behind, only encapsulated one town, and the king was even more brash and incompetent than all the others. it was also home to the most powerful person on the planet. Far outside the border of the town, there lied the humble abode of a mighty hero who, time and time again, had gone up against cataclysmic forces of evil. Demons, evil mirrors, Dark Matters, horrors from other dimensions, and even evil corporations had all fallen at the tiny hands of this incredible hero.

The mighty hero, at this time, awoke, got out of bed, and with his incredible, heroic powers…

Ate an entire watermelon whole.

This mighty hero's name was Kirby, a 6 year old round boy who had been 6 for about 30 years. His race along with many others on the planet aged surprisingly slowly and possessed impressive lifespans, but even this was ridiculous. Nevertheless, Kirby had triumphed over evil time and time again. And now, after his delicious breakfast of an entire melon, he got about his second task of the day:

Second breakfast!

Thanks to a variety of appliances and objects hidden under his bed, Kirby quickly assembled a little feast. Some pop tarts, some orange juice, some pre-cooked bacon, a scoop of ice cream, and some waffles. However before he could enjoy this little feast, the door was kicked in from the other side. Where the door once stood, now stood a Meta Knight with his foot outstretched triumphantly.

"KIRBY!"

Silience hung in the air surrounding this awkward moment.

Silence that was quickly broken by Kirby.

"METTY! I'm so glad you're here! Good morning!"

Kirby was known for being… Positive. He was polite, sweet, kind, considerate, friendly, jolly, chum-like, agreeable, patient…

"What have I said about that nickname?" Meta Knight said dryly.

"I forgot!"

Meta Knight facepalmed. Kirby could be a bit dense sometimes, and disturbingly smart and mature at others. It was very irritating. "Look, I came here to tell you something gravely important…" Meta Knight continued, only to be interrupted yet again by Kirby. "Do you want some breakfast before you tell me about it?" Kirby's voracious appetite was not stronger than his heart and sense of giving. "No, thank you…" Meta Knight started only to be interrupted once more.

"C'moooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!" Kirby whined. "You're nothing but skin and boooooooooooones!" he said, holding a plate of waffles in Meta Knight's general direction with a sad look on his face. Meta Knight sighed. "Fine, I'll eat some breakfast."

TIME: 9:00 AM

Meta Knight was once again surprised and disturbed by Kirby's insatiable appetite. Meta Knight only managed to eat a quarter of the diverse meal Kirby had made before feeling full. Kirby ate the rest, and in some sort of feeding frenzy managed to eat a plate as well. He had actually heard a crunching sound as Kirby swallowed it whole. He was a mystery, even though Meta Knight had known Kirby for years. "So what did you want to tell me?" Kirby said as he wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"Well… as I was about to say before witnessing you eat a faux-ceramic disk…" Meta Knight continued, "It has come to my attention that there is a dark presence somewhere in the planet's orbit." This comment was met with a blank stare from Kirby. Meta Knight rephrased this: "There's a bad thing in space."

"Oh!"

"Which is why I have decided that we must accelerate your training."

"What training?" Kirby asked. "You're proving my point." said Meta Knight. "I have reason to believe that this is a very serious threat, and although you've proven victorious time and time again, it would not hurt to hone your abilities." Meta Knight prepared himself for some kind of childish resistance, like "But why?" and "I don't wanna!"

"Okay!" said Kirby after a brief pause. "I guess if you think I should, it's a good idea!" Meta Knight wasn't very surprised, seeing as how he accidentally aided half of the threats he fought. "Great! Meet me at the Halberd in an hour." Meta Knight started off to the now empty doorway. "Wait!" Kirby said before Meta Knight could leave. "I need to ask you something…" "What is it?" asked Meta Knight. "Well, its just that… You seem so stressed lately! Is everything okay?"

Meta Knight almost chuckled. Before him stood a warrior with the mind of a child. Kirby had suffered betrayal from people he had treated as family. He had witnessed sights not even Meta Knight himself had been unable to unsee. He had gone up against the universe's most twisted and vile minds. He had entered decaying monuments filled with twisted secrets without flinching. He had witnessed the suffering of entire planets without being haunted by their screams. Throughout everything he had witnessed, Kirby had stayed… Kirby. Was it his sheer optimism? Was it really that what he had seen had left his spirit untainted? Or was he at the breaking point? Or even worse, had this poor child snapped long ago? Meta Knight knew nothing about his powers. He knew nothing about him. He knew nothing about Kirby, and Kirby knew nothing about him…

"Yes, everything is okay." said Meta Knight. "Well, if anything happens, you can always tell me!" Kirby piped up. "And remember! It never hurts to smile once in a while!"

"…right." Said Meta Knight in a rather deadpan tone. Just be at the Halberd in an hour. Meta Knight left Kirby's house. Sadly, he also left the door on the ground. Kirby didn't mind too much since Meta Knight did this often. He grabbed some duct tape, some glue, and set to work fixing the door.
