Chapter 2: Day 364: Flames of Hell
At the edge of the world of Light, where Darkness and Nothingness met, there was a massive red clock tower surrounded by an orange city and an endless sunset that covered the world. This was Twilight town a realm that exist between Light and darkness and the birthplace of Number XIII The Key Of Destiny Roxas
Axel, Number VII the Flurry of Dancing Flames, walked out of the Dark Corridor and sat on top of the clock tower that he and Roxas shared. He had just returned from his encounter with Roxas in the basement of that mansion. It was hard for him to believe that Roxas had forgotten everything. Though it did seem he remembered at the end. Now he was lost again, this time it was likely to be permanent.
'Then again, no Nobody has ever merged back with their Other before. So he may not be completely gone,' the redhead thought to himself as he sighed before looking at the endless sunset 'I wonder how Xemnas is gonna take all this, more than likely he'll turn me into a dusk for failing' he soon pulled out an ice cream wrap and pulled it open "well if this is gonna be my last meal might as well make it good" he say as he licked the ice cream and stared at the sunset once more, this time however with no one there to be alongside him.

We now find our young Keyblade wielder and The Devil hunter exiting the building as they make their way to the residential district of the city. As they walked down the stairs to the district Roxas looked at his new companion "So where are we going exactly?" Nero looked back confused before realising he never did tell him where they were supposed to go
"Well from what I was told our target is currently making his way to Fortuna Castle" Roxas then replied "And how exactly are we supposed to get there?"
"Well, first We have to get through Ferrum Hills. There stands an abandoned iron mine, where the mountain had been hollowed out into a cave leading to Lamina Peak, and at the top of the mountain is where the castle is located. The castle's a very important landmark, but it remains out of the way and in a very difficult-to-reach place." Nero explained to the former Organization member as he simply nodded now understanding where they are meant to go but there was one thing he didn't quite get
"You said that this place is very difficult to reach? If so why haven't they tried to find other ways to make it easier for them to get there" Roxas wondered as in his point of view it just doesn't make any sense to not make this place much easier to reach.
"That's because The people here aren't very keen on disturbing the landscape; even the streets here have been mostly kept the same as they've always been. I think it's all an attempt to preserve the Fortuna that Sparda once lived in. Although If I had to give my two cents, I don't think Sparda would be upset if anyone changed the city layout for convenience's sake, but no one among the locals would agree with me there." Nero explained to the young Nobody.
"So they're doing this out of preservation?" Roxas asked as he looked around the district, whoever this Sparda person was, he must have been a respected figure for Nero's people.
"Pretty much, Anyways we should continue moving the sunset is about to set soon and I rather not waste any more time here" The Key of Destiny agreed with the White-haired man and so they continued walking forward toward the Ferrum Hills.
As they did Roxas's eyes trailed toward the Demonic arm of his new companion he didn't know why but there was something about that arm that's been bothering him. He could sense darkness coming from that arm but it didn't feel evil like the heartless no, in fact, it feels rather comforting to be around actually. It kinda makes him wonder how he got that arm, did he always have it, or did something happen to have caused that arm to change?
His thoughts were soon interrupted as Nero's footsteps came to a halt as he looked at one of the buildings above them "Heads up looks like we got company" Roxas stared at the same building the demon hunter stared at to see a huge group of Scarecrows staring at them as they release an annoying cackling
"Great more of these things" the former thirteenth responded as both he and Nero brought out their respective weapons Nero pulled out his Red Queen and Blue Rose, While Roxas Summoned Oathkeeper and Oblivion "Try not to slow me down," Nero told the blond-haired swordsman as he dashed towards the demon herd "Heh I should be saying that to you" Roxas fired back with a small grin on his face as he ran alongside Nero
The battle was less of a fight and more of a slaughter as both Roxas and Nero slashed their way through the Scarecrow with each one of Roxas's slices decapitating each of their limbs and body parts as their blood spilled out of there corpses, Although the Nobody felt little at what he seeing. Whether it was his lack of a heart or simply his lack of experience, he felt nothing as his Keyblades were drenched in thick, red blood. He felt no pity or remorse at their deaths as they were nothing more than mindless monsters.
Although, from his few memories and impressions of Sora that he had received due to Namine, he got the feeling that Sora would've lost his lunch all over his Keyblades by now.
'His Keyblades,' the thought pierced Roxas' mind with an odd revelation as the two entered the abandoned iron mines. He looked down at Oathkeeper and Oblivion in his hands. 'These aren't mine.' It was a weird but significant realisation. They weren't his and he just realised it; these belonged to Sora, created from his bonds with Kairi and Riku respectively. 'If I wish to separate myself from him, then I probably shouldn't be using his weapons.' With this thought, he concentrated on them, willing them to change into Keyblades that represented him, not Sora, not Kairi, and certainly not that bastard Riku.
In a flash of light, both Keyblades changed into two completely different forms, catching Nero's attention and causing him to raise a curious eyebrow. Oblivion had been replaced by an equally long blade. This one had a black circle around the handle with four spikes around the guard. The key chain was Roxas' charm with the Nobody symbol adorned on the hilt. The shaft looked like an actual blade that curved around at the end with four spikes to make the teeth of the "key". Oblivion, representing Sora's bonds with Riku, had been replaced by Two Become One, the Keyblade representing Roxas Nobody's origins.
Oathkeeper had been replaced by a slightly longer and thinner Keyblade. It had a purple guard shaped like curved blades. The shaft was a dull silver colour with the teeth made up of two large blade-like hooks. Like the other one, this one was much more of a sword than what it replaced. Oathkeeper, the Keyblade representing Sora's bond with Kairi, was replaced with Rejection of Fate, symbolising Roxas' refusal to give in to Fate and choosing to create his own destiny
Nero eyed the two new blades with interest and suspicion, he originally thought they were some kind of Devil Arm due to the fact they can disappear and reappear out of thin air but at the moment he is sensing no demonic power from them whatsoever 'I'll have to ask him about them later when we have time to.' Nero looked up at Roxas "Let's go, it's nearly nightfall and there'll be more demons coming soon" The blonde nodded and the two continued their way to the abandoned iron mine.

Namine gasped as she felt something happen through her connection to Sora. 'Roxas!' she thought in alarm as the connection between the Keyblade master and his Nobody twisted. 'What's happening?' she thought in panic as the connection between Sora and Roxas surged and changed so that it was no longer as stable as it once was. Roxas had done something; she could sense it, something that was distancing who and what he was from Sora. Before, the two were more or less mirror images of each other. Now Roxas' image was starting to blur, becoming something different … and from the feel of it, something darker. Kairi's Nobody tried to focus, to understand what exactly was happening due to this change and her eyes widened in shock.
Certain memories in Sora were now starting to go into Roxas against Namine's control. She could see some of the memories as they flowed into him but they were extremely blurry, as if their connection to Sora was minimal at best. Despite this, she was able to make out some of the images. Many were of a massive white castle with the Nobody symbol adorning many of the walls. It stood in the blackest city in existence, containing no people but still not uninhabited. Rain poured down constantly, darkening everything even more. It was a place she had seen and been to before, the white castle in the World that Never Was, headquarters for Organization XIII. Many of the images contained two figures, a tall one with a spiky, red head of hair and the other about her size with blonde hair, both wearing black cloaks. There were also many memories of sitting at the top of the clock tower in Twilight Town, eating sea-salt ice cream as the sun set over the horizon. As she watched them disappear down the link into Roxas, Namine tried to understand what these memories were and what was going on.
'Roxas and Axel?' she thought confused as she looked at the memories. Having met them both she could recognize them, but that didn't explain where these memories came from. 'But Sora has never met Roxas and he's never been to the Castle that Never Was. So … where are the memories coming from and why are they going to Roxas?' she thought in panic. Was someone else messing with his memories or was something else going on?
'Just what is going on' Namine wondered in concern having no idea what going to happen and how she can stop this

Deep within the shops of a certain devil hunter lies two pairs of flaming incandescent gloves lying on the walls. These gloves resemble those of medieval European plate armor. It resembles a metal dragon head with the glove between it looking like its jaws as if it is a flame the dragon is breathing. Along the top of the dragon's head are numerous spikes that glow in the same way as the glove, and this glow is also present on the dragon's head's teeth and eyes. Usually, these gloves' flame would be dimmed. However today they are burning brightly like they never have before. Why you may ask? It sensed something. Something it hasn't sensed for nearly millennia.
This caused the flames to ignite more than it has ever had before covering itself in the fire as a small whirlwind surrounded the shop causing many of the items and furniture to either fall over or get blown away. the whirlwind soon calmed down as the fire dissipated. Along with the gauntlet…….

After dealing with some of the demons in the area and one huge leap across the port Roxas and Nero soon found themselves inside the abandoned building "So to get to Ferrum Hill we have to lower the drawbridge right?"
"That's right however to access the drawbridge we need to get rid of that barrier over there," Nero said as he pointed his finger at the top floor Roxas followed the direction he was pointing at and noticed the blue-coloured barrier that covered the top floor
"Okay and how do we get rid of it exactly?" Roxas asked the devil hunter who simply just grinned at the boy before walking to what appeared to be some sort of mechanism
Nero soon revved the grip of his sword three times creating a large combustion to be released from the blade as it began being coated in fire, Nero then unsheathed the Red Queen before wildly swinging it at the mechanism with flames bursting out of his sword causing runes to project out of the device the runes then started spinning around before Nero slashed the device one more time which slammed the runes back into the pedestal
Roxas looked up to see the barrier dissipating like the one back in the storage room when he killed those demons making his eyes narrow in suspicion before he glanced back at Nero "Just what exactly is that thing?" he questioned as he walked to the device and examined it
"They're called Crest Switch the Order had them implemented a while back they're essentially a defence mechanism to make sure intruders don't break in and mess with the machine, Apparently they are powered by demonic energy that's stored within the Order Headquarters at least that's what my mentor told me" Nero explained to Roxas who is now even more suspicious of Nero's order the more he hears about them the more they remind him of the Organization and that isn't a good thing.
He decided to keep that to himself though in favour of not pissing off The Devil Hunter for thinking the Order that he works for is suspicious or evil. 'then again Nero doesn't seem to have that much fondness towards them with the way he speaks about them but still best to be safe than sorry' Roxas thought to himself as he glanced at Nero who grabbed the ledge of the floor above them and lifted himself and stood up and looked back at Roxas "you coming or what?" He nodded his head and grabbed the ledge and pulled himself up.
After getting off the ground the two headed to the next room. As they left the room the two immediately noticed the machine that controls the drawbridge "Sooooooooo you know how to work that thing right?" Nero nodded "Yeah I do why you wanna do it instead or something" Nero jokingly said which made Roxas chuckle nervously "Nah machines and I don't exactly get along" The image of him wrecking Diz's computers with the Kingdom Key popped into his mind.
Nero simply shrugged his shoulders before pressing some of the buttons on the machine that should cause the drawbridge to lower, however to Nero's surprise the machine isn't doing anything 'What the? Is this thing busted?" He thought he tried pressing the other button but nothing was happening, Nero's frustration continued rising with each press of a button until he slammed his fist onto the machine causing a large dent in it "Damn it!" Nero cursed which made Roxas a bit worried for his new friend "Are you alright?" Nero clicked his tongue as he shook his head "No I'm not the machine is busted which means we don't have access to the drawbridge now"
"I guess that means we have to find another way through huh" Nero unfortunately nodded as he stomped his foot loudly into the ground and walked back to the door with Roxas in his tow however before they left Nero pulled out his Blue Rose and shot the machine to vent his frustration while also causing Roxas to jump back in surprise "mind warning me next time before you start shooting!" Nero didn't reply as he placed his gun back in its holster
However fortunately for the duo that shot caused a small explosion from the machine and also made the red light from the machine turn green causing the drawbridge to lower itself down and connect itself to the other side of the mine, Both Roxas and Nero simply just stared with there eye wide opened at the destroyed machine as they bore witness to the events that just transpired before staring at each other wondering if what they saw happened or not "...did that seriously just work" Roxas just nodded in shock
"I guess this means we don't need to go the long way now" Roxas lightly chuckled with Nero lightly smile at the comment before they both exited the building and crossed the bridge and entered the first mining area with Nero's not wasting any time wading through a filthy looking for the stairs to the upper level. He grabbed Roxas with his left hand and used his right to grab onto the railing and hoisted them up several dozen feet.
Nero then checked on the ancient set of doors that led to Lamina Peak since it has been quite some time since anyone in Fortuna has used these doors, a look of relief appeared on his face as he pushed open the door and saw the rocky clearing.
"Good now all we have to do is get past and head straight towards Fortuna castle, hey Roxas get a move on!" Nero yelled before walking up the stairs with Roxas standing up off the floor and following suit
As they went up the stairs and arrived at Lamina Peak something immediately felt off for them as they saw something in the distance, a huge black slab. Nero was sure he'd have been mistaken, at first, because it looked the exact same as the Monument in the city. This replica stood in the middle of the hills
Roxas however narrowed his eyes to get a better look as he thought he noticed something coming out of the slab. Sure enough, he was right."Well this is just perfect," he says as he notices several scarecrows emerging from the stone surface.
"Let me guess, more demons?" Nero asked with an unamused look on his face as Roxas nodded causing him to sigh in exhaustion "Welp let's get this over with then" he pulled out Red Queen with Roxas soon following with Two Become One and Rejection Of Fate
However a surreal sight soon appeared in front of their eyes, but it was right in front of my eyes. Just as they prepared to deal with the horde before they went to the castle, the scarecrows were engulfed in flames. Not only that but, Nero's right hand began emitting a large glow causing both to be concerned. Whatever was coming next had to be big. The slate started glowing brightly as well, and if they looked hard enough, they could see another world from the other side.
Nero soon realised what that thing was "That's a gate…!" he exclaimed as a torrent of flames erupted from the gate, and with them, a huge demon came out. It was the biggest demon they had encountered so far. It had a horse-like lower body and a vaguely human torso, but its face resembled more a cow than anything else. In one of its hands, it held a sword, and its face looked grim. The giant demon jumped from the hill to the foot of the mountain, curled in on itself, and then let out an animalistic roar.
The entire surrounding area was soon lit ablaze with the same fire that burned on the creature's body. It looked around itself, and started walking."Ahh, the human world, it's been a while" Roxas was immediately surprised when he heard the creature speak, Originally he thought these demons were very similar to the heartless both being mindless creatures who seek to devour hearts/souls but it seems these creatures do also have the ability to speak human language like the Greater Nobodies like himself
The demon's footsteps made the earth shake and sway as he slowly approached us, but he didn't seem to be looking at us, in fact, he didn't seem to even notice our existence, like we were nothing but an ant on the side of the road
While Roxas didn't seem to mind that, the thought seemed to have pissed Nero off, as he started walking towards him with Roxas pulling his hood up and following him. Both of them noticed that the fire caused by the demon made the air so unbearably hot that it would make the Heat Sabers sweat. 'He was probably thriving in it' but for Nero, he's never been a big fan of heat. Nevertheless, as they kept getting closer, the demon still seemed to have ignored them. 'No problem, it's not like I'm in a hurry or anything' Just as Nero was thinking that, the demon passed by them. He was probably so big that he ignored all humans by default. 'I should probably let him know that he isn't dealing with any ordinary human.'
As the demon got farther and farther away, Nero took the Red Queen from his back, and revved it to the max, and used the momentum to swing the blade around in a circle. The movement sent a gust of wind all around the area, instantly blowing out the fire. That seemed to get the demon's attention, who finally turned to look at me "How curious…"
He hefted Red Queen over his shoulder, and shrugged."Fire's bad for the complexion. I burn easily, never tan." Roxas just looked at him like he had gone crazy as his jaw dropped upon seeing Nero's audacity to challenge this guy 'Has he lost it'
The demon cocked his head slightly, and puffed out a flaming hot breath as he stared at me."When I came to the world 2000 years ago, there were no such humans like you."
"Oh? Well then wanna make it another 2000 years?" Roxas just gave a deadpan stare at hearing Nero's comment 'yep he's lost it' The demon's voice rumbled in his chest, and he waved his sword high over his head "Silence!" He shouted as his sword descended upon Nero who didn't look nearly as concerned as he should have as he lifted his sword off his shoulder and blocked the attack with the tip of his sword
As the tips of their swords clashed against each other, Nero moved to thwart the demon's sword, and he staggered backward. Once he'd found his rooting, he stared at him with an expression that could only be described as frustration.
"Futile pest, you will suffer the wrath of Berial!" the demon now known as Berial proclaimed, as he waved his sword around, generating more and more flames, covering his entire body. He crouched and continued,
"I, the conqueror of the Fire Hell!"
Berial's massive sword slashed the ground toward Nero and Roxas, and they both immediately jumped back to avoid it, all the while shooting at him with Blue Rose. However an enemy of this size, those bullets were as good as trying to stab him with pin needles. Not just that but the bullets melted before they could even touch him
"That contraption you call a weapon… is nothing but a useless toy!"
"Damn it, the fire around him is basically a protective shield! None of our attacks will get through!" Roxas replied before avoiding another attack as he gritted his teeth in anger if he could still use his elemental magic he could probably get over his flames but thanks to Namine memory manipulation most of those magic are now gone until he finds a way to reclaim it
Roxas clenched his Keyblades in anger at the thought of Namine thanks to her his now back to square one and if he went back to the world that never was and try to fight Xemnas and the others he will get destroyed by them
Berial once again swung his sword at Nero, the whole blade was on fire so when he moved it it left a flaming trail in its wake. His Firaga and Nero Red Queen's flames paled in comparison to Berials fire and that only seemed to have pissed Nero off even more.
Nero twist his sword handle again as fire covered the blade once more and leaped in the air before he struck at Berial chest which staggered him quite a bit before he quickly swatted Nero away like a bug sending him back to the ground
Roxas used Reversal to quickly slide behind Berial and attacked his legs however he was quickly met with a kick from the Centaur demon that crashed him through the building with smoke erupting from the old building. As the Dust settle we see the Key Of Destiny clutching his stomach as his Keyblade vanishes "*cough* *cough* Damn this guy can sure kick hard" Roxas slowly got up from the ground and observed Berial body to see a weak point 'there's gotta be a way to get past his flame barrier but how exactly'
Nero also got up from where he landed grabbed his Red Queen and glared at Berial in anger as he looked at Nero in amusement "Puny human you should have stayed down and let me end your miserable existence" Nero growled at Berial's taunt and revved his sword up harder than before and rushed at the demon and tried to attack him again however Berial immediately blocked the attack and tried to grab at Nero only for him to avoid the grab, Pull out blue rose and shot at Berial head and much to their surprise the bullets made contact 'Wait what!?' Both Roxas and Nero thought as Nero descended back to the ground
'Didn't the previous bullets not even make contact with him?'
'So why the hell did they make contact this time?'
'I wonder?'
'Could it be?'
'His head is not protected by his flames!?' They both realised in unison as the both looked at each other, both knowing that the other realised the same before they looked back at the self proclaimed King of Fire Hell "Follow my lead okay" Nero said to Roxas who nodded and resummoned his Keyblades back to his hands
Nero used the Exceed to light up Red Queen, and jumped up onto the roof of the nearest building. Berials sword crashed into the building, crushing it to smithereens, and before he could be caught in the devastation, he jumped, ready to hit him over the head with his sword. "Here goes nothing!" he pressed the clutch just as the sword connected with his forehead causing the Centaur to roar in pain. If it had been a run of the mill demon, it would've been cut in two but as things stood, even though the blade embedded itself in his flesh, the damage was far from fatal.
"NOW ROXAS!" and just as Nero says his name Roxas leaped off the air and spun around like a buzzsaw before stabbing Two become One and Rejection of Fate into Berial's head which much to the duos surprise caused his protective flames to dissipate as Berial kneeled to the ground
"Nows our chance his wide open" Nero pulled out Red Queen and Jumped off Berials head and on the ground however Roxas had different ideas as he jumped over and landed on the Centaur back and dug his Keyblades on Berial cracking his skin and causing him to roar out in pain he tried to twist and move around trying to get of his rider however Roxas didn't budge as he kept on stabbing the creatures back before twisting his blade and pulling hard.
Nero, seeing his opportunity, revved up to the absolute highest level and ran to him and hit one of his legs. Causing him to stop twisting around and stumble back to the floor
"It's time for you to take a nap!" Nero used the first strike to propel him further upwards in the air "One!" One hit was just the start. The second attack had Nero spin his blade mid air which increased his altitude "Two!" he revved again "Three!" After the last blow, he was at eye level with Berial. He reared back, preparing for a giant attack, Roxas saw this and jumped of Berial so he wouldn't get caught in the middle of the blast and as soon as he did Nero launched his strike. "Go back to hell!"
Nero's flames engulfed the Demon, as he smashed his flames between Berials eyebrows which sent him flying backwards however much to their surprise Berial recovered from the attack immediately in mid air and released a ferocious roar "THAT'S ENOUGH!!!" He soon generated a massive fiery explosion that pushed both Roxas and Nero back and destroyed most of the remaining buildings in the area as well leaving nothing but a barren wasteland. However, to the blind eyes of Roxas,Berial and Nero. Roxas coat seems to be emanating a dark glow as Roxas was caught in the blast.
As the explosions died down the duo saw the king of fire hell once more with his flames restoring only now he was furious at the two for the beat down they gave him "Guess we made him mad" Nero replied which made Roxas look at him with a blank stare "Gee you think?" he sarcastically replied before turning back to Berial
"You two will suffer for what you did make no mistake" he soon raised his right hand and generated a ball of fire causing the two to be on their guard "DIE!!" Berial then slams his hand to the ground much to the two confusion "uhhhhh what did he just do?" Roxas asked Nero who narrowed his eye in suspicion "I don't know but I doubt it's anything good" he was soon to be proven right as the very ground beneath them started to feel warmer for the duo they soon looked down before their eyes widened at seeing the very earth beneath them starting to turn into a bright orange, Nero quickly uttered "OH SHIT!!-"
A giant pillar of molten fire erupted from the ground like a geyser nearly consuming Roxas and Nero if they didn't dodge it at the last minute however it didn't stop there as multiple geyser erupted from the ground each time they took a step causing them to stay on the run "oh great now we have to keep running otherwise we're shish kebab how fucking fantastic" Nero says sarcastically
however he was soon interrupted by Berial sword swinging down and creating an explosion with the impact blowing Nero back causing Roxas to stop running "Nero!" He yelled out in worry, luckily Nero quickly recovered and got his footing back before dashing away the moment he hit the ground to avoid the flame pillars "I'm fine don't worry about me just keep running and make sure to avoid being near his blade as well they explode on impact now!" Nero quickly explained to Roxas who nodded and continued running again.
Berial then went into a stance as he poured all his fire into the blade before he swung his blade at Roxas who quickly leaped off the air avoiding the explosive blade Berial however immediately pulled his blade out and shoved it in the air and at Roxas who moved out of the way and ran down the giant blade like it was like any other walkway before jumping off and swung his blade down aiming at the demons before he blocked the attack with his arm causing him to glare at the demon in irritation while Berial bellowed "did you think it will be that easy to attack my head again? Think again boy."
Roxas growled at the creature before catching sight of something that made him smirk "you seem to have forgotten I'm not the only person your fighting" Berial quickly realised what he meant and looked around to find the white haired swordsman "what where is he-" he was soon interrupted by a quick slash right in the back of the head "AHHHHHH!" Berial roared in agony as his flames disappeared from his body once more this time though he didn't kneel down no instead he used he right arm to push Roxas back and looked back to see Nero looking at him with a smug grin on his face "Not so hot without your flames are ya"
Berial scowled at the demon hunter as he raised his sword "Even without my flames I can still crush you!!" Berial was on him in an instant, charging at him with his sword, Nero used his right arm to block it but the impact forced him back. He stuck his landing and managed to stay on his feet before looking back at Berial with a smile on his face "hey come on surely you can do better than can't you" he mocked Berial which only infuriated him even more but before he could charge at him again he caught sight of Roxas and immediately guarding one of his attack
As Roxas Keyblades locked with Berial sword the demon simply stared at the hooded boy like he was nothing more than a nuisance "This isn't your battle step aside weakling" Roxas glared at the Centaur for looking down at him and tried to push back the demon "who are you calling weak!" Roxas snapped at the demon who looked unimpressed by the boy's show of strength "you heard me out of three of us here it is clearly obvious that you are the weakest one here! So do us both a favour and stay out of this boy!" That did it for Roxas, light radiated from his body, his eyes had a fury of a thunderstorm and both his Keyblades lit up and turned into large, twin blades of light much to the surprise of Nero and Berial.
'What the hell!?' Nero thought as Roxas went completely insane and broke past berials defence. His blades then cut through Berial scales with a sickening sizzling sound as he moved far faster than before. Roxas now looked like a black shadow holding two beams of light dancing around it, and with his hood on Roxas looked like the personification of death itself. What was even more surprising was when pillars of light appeared. They were perfectly vertical and seemed to be emitted by small shields of light, with an unfamiliar symbol emitting at the top of the pillars. The pillars seemed to appear out of nowhere, creating fences of burning beams of light. Berial eyes widened in panic as the beams started attacking him with fire erupting out of his body from each hit. Roxas finally finished it off with a cross-shaped slash as pillars of light surrounded him before they were pushed outwards crashing the demon into a wall.
Roxas hastily turned to Nero "FINISH HIM OFF NOW!" He yelled at Nero who nodded and dashed forward and grabbed Berial's face with his demon arm. As if to adapt to Berial's humongous frame, his spectral hand's also massively increased in size. Nero never tried doing this before, didn't even know that he could, but it came to him so naturally. He jumped high in the air, dragging Berial with him,.Berial tried weakly shoving Nero off, but he was no match for the strength of his devil bringer.The hand projection slammed him into the ground from where he was up in midair. The impact he made when crashing sent dust clouds flying everywhere.
Nero let go of Berial, and once the dust settled, they saw him swaying on his feet, trying to get up, causing both Nero and Roxas to scowl at the demon. Not only was this guy big, he also didn't know when to give up. "What, you still want to go? There's plenty more where that came from." Berial didn't pay any mind to Nero taunt, and instead just looked at his right hand.
"Your arm, That light… you two are not human are you!" Nero could do nothing in response but sigh and clutch his right arm. "Don't ask. Damn thing drives me crazy though." Nero looked back at Berial and glared at him "and to answer your question I'm human not a demon you got that don't you dare lump me in with you all, Although I don't know much about him though" he turned towards the out of breath Roxas who gave Nero a slight glare for that comment which Nero responded with a cheeky grin on his face
Meanwhile Berial just gave a wry, bitter laugh at my reply, finally seeming to have gathered the strength to get back up. "Neither demon nor human… you two are just like he was." both Nero and Roxas raised their eyebrows at the demon "And "he" would be?" Roxas asked, but Berial didn't answer. "I must restore my powers" Immediately after he said that, his body was once again engulfed in
flames, until he was indistinguishable from the fire itself
"HEY!" Roxas yelled at the demon but Berial ignored him. The flame that once was Berial flew back towards the slate, and disappeared into the gate. "Coward!" Nero shouted at the lifeless looking slab of stone.
After Berial left Roxas slumped to the ground after using his full power. He had never used a Dual Wielding Event Horizon before so it took a lot out of him than it usually does, but he couldn't argue with the results. Nero soon came over and helped him up "your just full of surprises you know that" Roxas gave Nero a small smirk at that comment "I don't know if I should take that as a complaint or not" the two chuckled for a few minutes before they both stared at the the stone slab "so what should we do with that thing over there"
"Nothing i highly doubt that any of our attacks will destroy the thing and even if we tried we would only be wasting time anyways and we wasted enough time already on Berial-"
"I wonder who's fault is that" Roxas interrupted Nero who just retaliated with a small glare at Roxas."Shut it" he responded back at Roxas before walking away to the next area. Roxas tried to follow but quickly trip over and fell causing Nero to stop and look back in concern "are you alright" Roxas took a couple of deep breaths before looking back at Nero "I'm fine just still exhausted from using that attack is all don't worry I'll catch up with you soon" Roxas explained tiredly As he tried to get up however to Roxas surprise Nero lifted him up and place his hand over his shoulder
"What are you-"
"Look you're clearly too exhausted to continue so just let me carry you for a while until you recover enough energy to walk on your own" Roxas just looked at him in shock they only just recently met and yet he's willing to do this much for him?
"...thanks"
"No problem now let keep going" they soon started walking toward the stairs continuing their journey towards Fortuna castle
However unknown to the two a mysterious figure made of fire loomed over at the distance as it observed the two or more specifically at one of them
"...not yet" the figure said as a whirlwind of flames covered him before disappear from thin air
Journal Entry: Day 364
Fortuna City
Emerging from the Corridor of Chaos I have arrived in a world I'm unfamiliar with, Fortuna City, A City that is currently plagued with monsters known as Demons. From what I have been told by Nero, this city seems to have worshipped a being known as Sparda a legendary figure in this world that they believe to be a God although Nero doesn't really buy that stuff from what he told but even then I could tell that even he has some form of respect for the man which makes me wonder what this man did to earn such respect.
There also seems to be some sort of organisation here known as the Order of the sword that watches over the City. But from what I do know about them so far I don't trust them not one bit.
Berial
I have never seen a creature be more persistent than this guy Berial The king of fire hell (King of Cowards is a much better title for him) this guy's a complete pain in the ass thank to that otherworldly flames of his that covered his entire body that acted as a shield that defended him from most of our attacks and if that wasn't bad the damn thing could release giant explosion from its body and can shoot out Flaming geysers from the ground add on the sword that can explode on impact and you got yourself a nuisance to overcome luckily me and Nero found his weakness and was able to overcome him
Unfortunately the damn coward ran off before we could even finish him but the next time we meet I'll make sure he'll regret ever looking down at me
Yep I'm bringing in the journal entries from Twilight Will I don't know about you all but I really enjoyed reading those and decided to make my own version of it cause why not
Anyways I really hope you all enjoyed this chapter i put in a lot of work into this one (especially since the berial fight is the first actual fight i ever wrote so yeah) so anyways let discuss
So just like Twilight Will Roxas has decided to drop Oathkeeper and Oblivion in favour of Two Become One and Rejection Of Fate in order to distance himself from Sora which is now slowly starting to destroy the link he has with Sora as well
Not only that but a certain gauntlet has sensed Roxas presence in this world and is now interested in him gee i wonder who it could be :) (if your a DMC and FF fan you probably already know)
After that was the encounter with Berial which lead to both Roxas and Nero discovering new ability they didn't know they could do (Duel Event horizon and the Devil bringer being able to grow in size)
And now the duo are on there way to Fortuna Castle where they'll discover more demons and the dark secrets about the order
Anyways I just want to say I'm sorry this took nearly 2 months for me to finish originally I thought it was gonna 1 months but I unfortunately got a small case of the writers block
And I'm sorry to say but the next chapter will probably take just as long as that to release since I want it this story to have about 10k words a chapter hope you all can understand
