(Kanto Skies | June 28th | 1:30 p.m.)
TJ was over the moon when Kassai made a bit of a mistake with the date of their tickets which allowed them to come earlier than planned. It also meant that he had to be taken there by his sister, which he was beyond pleased with. The last-minute move TJ had stirred led to Gretchen only being taken by her father, Vince only being taken by his mother, Mikey being taken his father, Gus being taken by his father, and both of Spinelli's parents. For TJ, the sooner he could get away, the starter he could start his plans for a journey of his own with his friends by his side…or at least Spinelli.
"Gretchen. Remind me why we're perusing television channels?" Gus asked.
"Research." Gretchen said only to catch Big Shots.
[Cues: Cowboy Bebop OST – American Money]
"Howdy amigos, all your rowdy bunch of trainers out across the regions!" Punch said excitedly arriving on camera riding a Tauros. "How y'all doing?"
"And welcome to Big Shots for Pokémon Trainers, we're back on the prowl to show you all the trainers who are hottest and worthy of a bounty! And we're here with a quick bulletin." Judy said excitedly. "So, what's on today's menu?"
"Well, Judy, aside from the usual bounties being reactivated which can be reviewable on our website. We're here to offer some dear words to recent Kanto Champion, Crimson Ryuseigan who's currently in the hospital." Punch said. "After a bare-knuckle brawl with a vicious unknown Pokémon. According to sources, he managed to defeat him but ultimately obtained several injuries…his journey might be over."
"How tragic…he's only just become-"
"Punch, Judy, wait! We got an update!"
An intern came up giving Judy the folder while panting before stumbling off.
"Interns, I swear." Judy said before the folder.
Her jaw dropped and her accent slipped to say in a near whisper, "That boy has to have to the fortune of Arecus…or Giratina."
Judy cleared her throat before slipping back into the accent.
"It means that Crimson's journey isn't over as by some miracle, he's had a complete recovery. Apparently, enough to stop Kim Possible rogue, Camille Leon, from trying to kill him. According to from a statement from a witness who wants to be unnamed, he woke up to grab her by the throat and snapped it." Judy said with a dry sigh. "Serves her right, how cowardly do you have to be gone after him when he's injured."
"Considering she can't fight Kim Possible to save her life, I'm not surprised. But you know what this? Crimson's bounty is back to being active!" Punch said as Judy blew a noisemaker.
Confetti was fired up before the Noctowl flew in giving a paper to Punch to which he opened it and paled.
"Well, it's with great pleasure that Crimson is inducted into the millions club."Punch said. "Millions club being a term we use to refer to the best of the best. Trainers that achieved Champion status, become Elite Four members, Pokémon league tournament quarterfinalists or higher; skilled battle facility participants, battle facility participants, and/or even become Gym Leaders. All other trainers hitting eight badges alone cap at 800,000k. As for Crimson's, it's sitting at a solid 3 million."
"Same rules still apply." Judy asked. "But let me clear up something from one of our earlier shows about Cynthia…when I was referring to Cynthia's bounty being 150,000…I was referring to when she was starting out as a trainer long ago. Quite similar tales for a pair of prodigies."
"Now there's been a shift in rules. Bounties are still only temporary but can now last up to three days meaning if you want that cash, you got to defeat Crimson in battle between those days. Battles done at 9pm to 8am won't count. Trainers need their sleep after all." Punch said tossing his Tauros a Sitrus Berry for it to catch and eat.
"You're only limited to a three Pokémon fight or less. Either in single format, doubles, or triples. You also can't take prize money from the bounty if they are defeated, you have to call in to report the defeat. There's still only one chance for you at the bounty. If you lose against a bounty, you can't try again until the bounty is reactivated." Judy said. "So here's our credit crawl on screen of new bounties."
It was brief, but Amelia, Joe, and Rusty were also a part of the millions club. Sissi was only at 850,000. Misty's had gone up to two million doubling from last time.
[Music Ends]
The program ended as the pilot came up on the intercom saying they were coming in for a landing at Tanoby Town Seaport. The plane came down with a gentle landing as a seaplane could have. The group finally got off the plane on the dock.
"Take it in, gang." TJ said. "We made it."
"Ok, squirt. You got to the country, that doesn't mean you made it to the school." Becky joked.
"Go on ahead through the gate, since you already went though customs…you can skip that. Enjoy your stay." The pilot said before lighting up a cigar.
[Cues: Theme of Tanoby Town – Nujabes – Feather (Instrumental)]
The group had gone on ahead down outside the seaplane port.
"According to the map, Tanoby Town is among the recent settlements in Sevii Island. Most of its architecture was modeled after the Tanoby Ruins which they have done their best to preserve." Gretchen said looking down at her.
"It's good to know that a country cares about their history." Mr. Grundler said.
"You feel a chill?" Becky said as Morticia made her presence known. "Holy shit, what the fuck is that goblin?"
"It's a Gengar. Normally, you could see them in a wi-"
Morticia produced a note that TJ took up.
"It says to follow Morticia to the nearby marina." TJ said before his eyes widen. "Oh man, this is one of Crimson's Pokémon. So rad…but why isn't he showing up himself?"
"The bounty most likely…considering he got out of hospital…he doesn't want to be hounded." Mrs. LaSelle said. "So I guess we follow her."
Morticia walked off for them to follow. Idle chat was among the group as they got closer to the marina with the Wind Wave in view.
"Lindsay, you are a life saver!" Crimson said on the phone. "No, seriously…thank you. What am I doing do? Some mentoring for some kids in Kassai. Yeah, sure…we can hang out. Later."
Crimson hung up taking a sigh of relief.
"Crimson, we're back." Morticia said.
"Thank you, Morticia. I'll take it from back." Crimson said after hanging up his phone. "Ahem, welcome to Kanto…or really the Sevii Island. I'm Crimson Ryuseigan, the Kanto Champion a graduate of the Kassai Institute."
"New people! Nyahahha!"
Stitch had phased through several of them, all feeling a chill before he appeared in front of Morticia.
"Hiii…" Stitch said.
"God, you're insufferable." Morticia said as Stitch cackled like a loon.
"Stitch!" Lilo said riding in on her Bayleef with her Litleo in her arms.
An Azulmarill of hers was also on Bayleef's back as they got off it.
"I take you out for a walk and you go running off." Lilo said as Stitch giggled. "Back in the ball…"
Morticia smirked as Stitch was returned to his ball.
"This is Lilo, one of the junior students for Kassai." Crimson said.
"And where's my daughter?" Flo asked.
"Right here." Spinelli said coming out of the Wind Wave with Nani.
The look on the adults' faces was priceless as Crimson was snickering.
"Buona donna del dolore! It's only been a few months." Bob Spinelli sputtered.
"All the dresses I bought for you can't fit you…" Flo mumbled. "But I guess I can have a woman out of you now…you look just like me."
"Jeez, the short-shorts, the makeup, and the long hair isn't feminine enough for you." Crimson said before sighing.
"And what's with all the black on you?" Flo asked ignoring Crimson.
"I like the color." Spinelli said as Nani cleared her throat.
"I'm Nani Pelekai, staff of Kassai as it's swim coach. Welcome to Sevii and to the Institute. Things are being set up as we speak." Nani said holding up her ID badge.
"Either way, we're leaving Seven Island to go to Six Island so climb aboard my boat and let's blow his pop stand." Crimson said getting on the boat.
"How did you make enough to own a boat?" Mr. Blumberg asked.
"I didn't buy it…I got it in a deal with the International Police given I've called him in their criminal cases. It used to belong to a drug lord." Crimson said as they got on.
"You worked with the International Police?" Bob asked,
"Several times. I know several agents…I got stories. Helps to be in good with the right people." Crimson said before turning to Kayden. "Kayden, we're ready to disembark. To Six Island."
"On point." Kayden said before getting the boat ready.
A short boat ride later, they arrived to Six Island and were walking into Fortune Town. Kayden stayed behind to do some fishing.
"Now I know you'll have questions…and I'll take a few. So, I'll treat you to lunch at a hole in the wall you're probably going to visit as students of this place…the Heracross Hole." Crimson said as they entered the tavern.
They took to a table with Crimson letting them order before the server got to him.
"Chicken Caeser wrap. Three of them. Side of fries and a quesadilla. Also, would like a glass of Pecha berry wine…leave the bottle with the table." Crimson said as the server left.
"So was you order alcohol something you normally do or were you just flexing on us?" Becky asked.
"A little of both. I'm a social drinker." Crimson said politely. "Now while we wai-"
"Ashley!"
Spinelli turned to it was her other friends arriving and they unintentionally got attention. It was two of them, a gyaru girl who called out for Ashley and a goth girl, both students of Kassai. The gyaru stood an inch taller than Spinelli with lightly tanned skin, strawberry blonde hair that is tied in a high ponytail by a black scrunchie, punk piercings on her ears, pink lipstick, amber eyes, and a busty chest. She wore a Kassai Institute cheerleading uniform which resembled the Middleton High cheer uniform in design (only with a seemingly shorter skirt) in shades of blue, painted red nails, loose white socks, and red sneakers.
The goth girl was a bit taller standing at Crimson's height with pale skin and choppy short black hair that covered a lot of her face only leaving her nose and her lower face visible. She resembled Sadako from the Ring only with dark lipstick. She wore the school's blue varsity jacket over a black ACDC shirt, the school skirt over black distressed leggings, and white sneakers. She was slightly less shacked than her gyaru friend.
Both wore the school band around their arms.
"Girl, you just disappeared. I asked Sakura where you were, and she told me you up and left with the Champion."
TJ was just staring with his mouth open, brain currently trying to reboot itself. Vince, Mikey, and Gus? Not doing much better with only Gus slightly able to less obvious about it.
"Well, the high quality food produced must really do wonders." Gretchen said as people tried to compose themselves. "Spinelli, your new friends?"
"Oh wait, you must her friends that Ashley goes on about. Gretchen, Vince, TJ, Mikey, and Gus. Well I'm Acantha Wisp and that's Delora Noctis."
The Recess gang turned to Spinelli given that Acantha reminded them of someone.
"Hey…Acantha. Delora." Spinelli said sheepishly.
"Girl, we're back from Three Island…wanted to get some berries for later." Acantha said. "You're still on for tonight?"
"Yeah…let's talk about that later." Spinelli said as the two girl went to order something off the To-Go menu.
The servers came out to deliver the food and drinks. Once the wine was poured into a glass for Crimson, the bottle was put on the table.
"Thank you." Crimson said before drinking. "Yeah, that's the good stuff."
Crimson tore into the food with gusto with the speed the Recess gang only saw with Mikey…though Crimson was going faster. He devoured it before letting a breath of relief.
"Good lord…Torchic chicken is so delish." Crimson said.
"I completely forgot we're eating Pokémon eat…" Gretchen said.
"And it's good…" TJ said between bites.
"That I can agree on." Mikey said wolving down a burger.
"I got a question…about how this recognized as a legal adult stuff works?" Becky asked.
"If this about your brother and his friends, they're students….basically a form of Junior Trainer. Kassai both functions at a compulsory trainer school and college. As junior trainers, they can battle and such, but can't take part in the Gym challenge or the League. If they graduate for the license and are of the minimum age to be trainers, they're full on trainers. Given the likelihood of having to 'equivalency education' which can take a season to nearly a year depending on how far educated you are, even if they get the license…they're going to be in school for about year or two. Now if you're a prodigy…you'll nail out the EE and be done in a few months. But no Junior Trainers can't drink." Crimson explained. "Care for a glass? Minimum drinking age for civilians in the Sevii Island is 17 if you're not a trainer."
"Wait, isn't it 20?" Nani asked.
"No, that's in mainland. We run things differently in Sevii." Crimson said pouring a drink for Becky.
Becky downed it.
"Sweet….and it kicks. What about driving?" Becky said.
"Also counts as a driver's license. The minimum for getting a driver's license is the same as getting a trainer's license. Like I said, we go through school pretty quickly compared to other countries. So it only makes sense you get to drive by end of schooling." Crimson said sheepishly.
"Can we step the questions and meet your Pokémon?" Vince asked.
"Ok…just let me pay the check." Crimson said getting his PokéDex.
Dex Bulma handled the transfer of funds to pay for the meal digitally. Spinelli's new friends joined in and got to chatting. After a half hour later, Nani got a call from Sofia saying that they were ready for them.
"Time for us to go…don't worry…a shuttle is coming for our guests." Nani said.
"Can I ride on Stitch?" Lilo asked.
"No, Lilo…" Nani said.
The shuttle bus arrived to pick up the students and parents. Crimson sent out the capsule for his bike before getting on before racing off for the school. Nani and Lilo not far behind on Nani's Vespa.
"I need a bike." TJ said.
"Quite a dreamboat…" Gretchen said watching him go.
"I heard he's a real charmer, a ladies' man." Acantha said as everyone else was on the shuttle which drove off to Kassai.
"He's got to be doing something if he got Misty to be traveling with him on his journey." Delora said.
"The water-type Gym Leader, right?" Gretchen said.
"Oh yeah, one of the Sensational Waterflower Sisters. Drop dead gorgeous girls…and that guy pulled her into his orbit. He's got to have some serious charisma to get her to follow him." Delora stated. "But the rumor mill is all over the place. But the freaky part, he used to be different in Kassai. Still intelligent, but quiet and reserved. Never spoke much. He was pretty damn sharp, one of the few trainers to graduate only and get his license a year early. But then well…his parents vanished."
The fellow parents felt sympathetic.
"It's weird, because it's still unknown if they're dead or not. He became a shut-in for a year….he came out completely different in personality." Delora said speaking up. "The timing was perfect considering all that happened."
The shuttle arrived back at Kassai as Acantha, Spinelli, Delora, and Lilo returned to the dorms as the newcomers were escorted to an auditorium where Sofia was on the stage. Spinelli's parents actually went after Spinelli. Composing herself, she took the mic.
[Cues: Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! / Eevee! - Welcome To the World of Pokémon]
"Welcome to the world of Pokémon! I am Sofia Giras. People affectionately refer to me as the Headmistress of the Kassai Institute and Gym Leader for Six Island Gym. I also was the Kanto Champion in the past. These regions are inhabited far and wide by creatures called Pokémon. For some people, Pokémon are pets. Others use them for battling. As for myself…it's the same, but I also use them in my part in educate the future. You've been selected as be able of this school…and though the journey will be easy. You are among of the last of the foreigners poached for our program and with great pleasure to say that all of you have passed the book work test to become students of the academy." Sofia said as there were cheers all around. "Now to give a few words is the current Champion, Crimson Ryuseigan."
Crimson came up before handing Sofia the bottle.
"Don't worry. The drink's on me." Crimson joked before taking the mic. "Hello, newcomers. Now I'm not one for long speeches but allow me to sum it up. The life of a trainer is not easy at least from the start, one be able to understand the Pokémon under their command and be able to bring a strong bond. That and to keep yourself financially afloat of course."
There were a few laughs.
"But with Kassai, I think you got a good shot at it. So I wish you all the best…and maybe we may cross paths on the road someday." Crimson said before coming off the stage.
[Music Ends]
Roulette had an appearance wheeling in the cart with a sheet over it.
"Ok, what are you planning?" Crimson asked.
"Why, it's nothing nefarious. Just some gifts for the new students on behalf of your company. Free of charge." Roulette said removing the sheet.
Under it were backpacks (Crimson was surprised to see they looked exactly like the backpacks from the original Gold/Silver) and a set of Black Logo Caps.
"Let's not say X Incorporated doesn't give back to the community." Roulette said giving them out.
"Thank you, Roulette." Sofia said, giving her the side eye. "Now it'll be time to go through rules, procedures, and so on. Along with the matter of school fees and such. Given you've arrived early, you might be able to attend your first class this afternoon."
Crimson had left with Roulette as they weren't needed to be there.

(Cape Brink, Two Island | June 28th | 3:00 p.m.)
The Virtue triplets were all enjoying some berry tarts while watching the ocean as Rusty returned.
"Rusty." They all said in unison.
He kissed each one before getting in the middle of them with a tired sigh.
"So how was it seeing your parents in prison?" Hope asked. "Did it go well?"
"No, it did not. Turns out my dad's dead…suicide after a lot of being pushed around. As for my mother, she got out of prison…turns out she snitched on my dad to get a lighter sentence. Got out on good behavior…she's moved out of Kanto. Just disappeared off the map…not like it matters. I doubt she'll ever come back to Kanto." Rusty mused. "Not that I'm really bothered too much…I've been an orphan for too long."
"You have family now in and in Professor Ivy." Faith said as Rusty had a relived smile.
"So what are your plans for now?" Hope asked curiously.
"Well, Gary's taking over the Viridian Gym when it's rebuilt. He's helping with the efforts alongside Ella. Pokémon Tech is no more…finally shut it doors. Most of the teachers jumped ship to Kassai…the vaults of valuables were raided. Now a bunch of students are displaced. You know…it's funny, Professor Ivy is moving her lab to Fortune Town….it's kinda ironic. I actually kinda debated it in my mind, but maybe I should work at Kassai helping others like me." Rusty said. "Everyone isn't going to be orthodox about how their mind works. Maybe I don't want to be a full-time teacher but throw in some aide while exploring these islands alongside Hina Island. Crimson, got invited to teach for a few days and I called him up. Those new kids are going through orientation, so we're meeting at Three Island to see get a guy about an investment."
"We'll meet you on Six Island…" Charity said as Rusty flew off on Aguni.
He arrived at Three Island Port as Crimson came down on Kimiko. Both returning their Pokémon.
"Rusty, what's good man?" Crimson said high-fiving him.
"It's all good…glad you're not leaving the region yet." Rusty said. "I guess Aguni and Kimiko wait out here."
The two trainers went into the cave to see it was much larger than before with piles of gold collected in minecarts.
"Crimson, I owe you big time!" The miner said jovially. "I can live up to my namesake of Lucky. With all these gold, I can do more than get a house in Kanto, I can invest…live well and comfortable. Start a family. Here…"
Crimson was given two sacks of gold nuggets.
"Now we're even." Lucky said as Crimson smirked.
"I only ask you to use your fortune to at least help your community." Crimson said as Lucky nodded. "Well then, I guess we're even. Good luck in life."
"One last thing…there's a path in the cave that leads out to a cliff where a bunch of Pokémon are out and about. Figured you should know." Lucky said before both boys left.
"Here." Crimson said giving Rusty one of the bags. "I figured you'd want to get a nice place of your own. Not like you got a family home anymore. I know I offered my place up to you and Joe when you need it, but…you know…."
"I'll call Joe to get half from this, but I'm definitely going to put this to good use. I'll meet up with the girls on we're going house shopping." Rusty said before leaving on Aguni.
Crimson left back for Kassai on Kimiko.
-o-
(Kassai Institute, Six Island | June 28th | 3:30 p.m.)
After stashing the bag of gold on the Wind Wave but not before pocketing some in his backpack, he returned to Kassai. Roulette was waiting out front and grinned to see him back as he returned Kimiko.
"So how did the investment turn out?" Roulette asked as she was tossed a Nugget. "Well, you trying to better me up?"
"I gave you plenty butter before I left…" Crimson said suggestively.
"It was pretty hot for you to take me to that empty room." Roulette said. "But we should slip back into the auditorium."
The two returned to the auditorium in case to see Maria wrap up her speech.
"Ok, we've went on enough…now to introduce Sevii Island's own Pokémon Professor, Professor Philena Ivy….where is Dr. Ivy?"
Ivy waltzed through the doors, soaking wet. It didn't help she was still wearing the same getup as she was as a Professor, her one piece swimsuit, sandals, and lab coat (which was dry).
"That's a professor?" Lt. Griswald asked.
"Yup." Crimson said walking up. "Professor Ivy…I think you need a dry off."
"Allow me. Schternvart, come on and give us some air support." Roulette said, sending out her Staraptor. "Blow her dry, girl. But do pull your punches."
Getting distance, Schternvart used Heat Wave to dry her off making sure she was far enough to not get burned. The hot wind blew past her hair steaming the water droplets on her body. Once dried, Schternvart flew back on Roulette's shoulder.
"It is done." Schternvart said as Roulette affectionately scratched behind the ears.
"Thank you, dear." Roulette said.
"Ok, welcome to Kassai, kiddos. I'm Professor Ivy and I will be serving as your first teacher alongside Mr. Ryuseigan to get your started on your journey. Sofia, I assume it's all ready." Ivy remarked as Sofia rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, all the paperwork and release forms are signed. The only thing now for the parents and guardians to bid goodbye." Sofia mused.
"When we get vacation time, I'm coming down here with a dress that'll fit you." Flo said hugging her daughter.
"Good luck, kiddo." Becky said as TJ gave her his old hat.
"Hang onto it for me, will ya?" TJ said as Becky hugged him.
"I worked with some people in Kanto Armed Forces before on a joint mission in the past. Hiroshi Waterflower, the Fist of the Kanto Marines. Her daughter's the gym leader, but he used to be in the past. He was an intimidating figure." Lt. Griswald said. "So work hard, son."
Mikey's dad was rather emotional, but Mikey calmed him reminding him that he could call him.
"I hear one of the other regions is big on the sports scene." Vince remarked. "I'm so planning to go there when I can."
"At least make sure you got a good backup plan." Mrs. LaSelle remarked. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."
With goodbyes made and the parents soon to the shuttle, the new students were shown to the dorms. Meanwhile, the Spinelli family was in Spinelli's dorm room.
"So that's how it's been." Spinelli said. "I got the license already, but I need to get the compulsory stuff completed."
"You'll still be my baby." Flo bemoaned. "But I can't believe you're almost all on your own…and this closet is full of darker colors…no pink."
Emilia got in Flo's way and pushed her out of her closet as Spinelli groaned in annoyance.
"Ugh, can you not poke into my things?" Spinelli asked. "I just don't like pink as a color."
"Well, at least you're wearing makeup…but I doubt you'll get a bo-"
"Flo, let the girl live her life. She's got plenty to deal with already." Bob said. "Besides, we need to be ready to go…rather not get left behind."
As her parents left, Spinelli slumped in her chair greatly relieved. She was glad to see her father, but her mother was too overbearing. There was a knock on the door to which Gretchen was at the door.
"Your friend…Acantha, any tips to living with her?" Gretchen asked.
"She's nice enough…worse she'll do is drag you shopping. She likes cute Pokémon so I don't think her Pokémon are going to be an issue." Spinelli said.
"Well the boys got lucky, they all got dorms with students already graduating and leaving." Gretchen said. "First class is in a few minutes. I got to go."
She left as Spinelli's computer beeped with a message from Acantha asking to hang out. Given they had no classes for another hour, she accepted.

Crimson was on his way to the classroom only to run into Giselle pushing a cart of Pokéballs. He noticed the change in outfit to appear like a teacher with a dark blue skirt suit, her old red tie, and black flats. However, she wore a Black Dragons jacket on her shoulders like a cape.
"Giselle, or should I call you Miss Seiyo?" Crimson asked as Giselle blushed.
"Oh you. Always the charmer…" Giselle said. "But I'm glad you're here helping out…the school talks highly of you."
"Yeah, that they do. Sorry about what happened with Ash?" Crimson remarked.
"It's no big deal. He had other goals in life. He's a good and dear friend…but he's a bit dense when it comes to women." Giselle remarked. "So you're going to Hoenn after you teach a few classes?"
Crimson nodded.
"Well, you're not going to get another starter…so here…take one of the Hoenn starter. It's on me, I owe you one." Giselle said as Crimson was surprised.
"You owe me for what?" Crimson asked.
"Saving Kanto from Team Rocket, getting rid of Ethelinda, and allowing Joe and Rusty to reach their true potential. Also, most and foremost, saving me from myself…I could have ended up an elitist asshole had it not been for you and Ash. For that, I am grateful." Giselle said as Crimson took up the ball with Torchic in it. "And of course, it's you with fire."
"What can I say, I'm hot blooded." Crimson said using the PokéDex to scan it. "Hoo boy, you made my day."
The ball vanished off to cyberspace to go straight into PC storage. He was grateful as he had known even if he could get a starter from Birch…Torchic was off the table given what May would pick.
"Thanks, Giselle, but let me return the favor with dinner or something on me." Crimson offered.
"You know…me and Misty talk…you know, we are both Black Dragons after all. I know have close you two are…" Giselle said with Crimson blushing.
"It wasn't a pass for-"
He was stopped by her.
"It's ok, I know you're just being polite, but I'm not saying no to a possibility of an entanglement." She said with a wink. "Now come on, we have a class to handle."
He followed her.
"Is Ivy supposed to be doing this?" Crimson remarked.
"Yeah, well apparently, there was a family emergency that she had to run out to…but I overheard her on the phone. Seems Rusty hit it big and is shopping for a new place in Sevii…and in Kanto." Giselle said as Crimson laughed.
They entered the classroom to find the five waiting for them all wearing the school jackets and armband.
"Welcome to your first class. I'm Giselle Seiyo." Giselle said, writing her name on the board.
She did it in kanji first, only to remember they were American…and write it in English under it.
"I will be your homeroom teacher, and this my first time teaching full-time." Giselle said. "Give the small class, I will function as your main mentor in learning how to become trainers. Of course, we'll have the Champion around for a few days to assist you. Now of course, it's time to get all five of you a Pokémon."
She clicked a button on the cart to let out all eleven Pokémon. The Kalos starters, the Johto starters, the Alola starters, and two of the Hoenn starters.
"These are starter Pokémon, traditionally given to new trainer, typically one out of three. They are quite rare and hard to find in the wild. Normally we would have you obtain Pokémon via going to capture Pokémon with a senior student but given the area's limited variety…we decided to apply to get starter Pokémon. Now you can all pick one. You first." Giselle said pointing over to Gus.
"Shouldn't there be twe-"
"Gretchen, leave it be." Crimson said with a wink.
Gus came up to tray of expectant Pokémon, each doing their thing to convince him to be picked. He looked Chespin who reminded him of a little soldier and decided to take it.
"Let me just check if it's male o-"
"She." Crimson said looking at his Dex. "Case in point, some Pokémon will have more visible differences in gender. Aside from more…invasive way of finding out…you could take them to a Pokémon Center or use any device that records information on your Pokémon to find that out."
"Oh, well I'll take her." Gus said as Giselle handed him the ball.
TJ was picked next and immediately took the Totodile who was just happy to be picked.
"Ok, that one's male and it's got a hidden ability. To explain that Pokémon tend to have an ability. A special overall ability that aids or hinders depending on what it is and how it is used. In the case of all starter Pokémon, they exclusive one ability which is an elemental boost. Overgrow for Grass-types, Torrent for Water-types, and Blaze for Fire-types. All do the same thing, both the power of those moves by 50% via Attack and Special Attack boosts when the Pokémon is near fainting…if it has less than or equal to 33% of it's Hit Points." Crimson said writing the formula on the board.
"So Pokémon's got math to it?" TJ groaned.
"Everything has math to it, Theodore. I can assure you that when you're done with school, you'll have a decent understand." Crimson said as Gretchen was already writing this down. "Regular Pokémon will have either the chance to have one normal ability or a rarer chance of having a hidden ability. Alternatively, they could have one of two regular abilities…or a hidden ability. Sometimes upon evolving, your Pokémon will gain a new ability, but there are exceptions to this rule. But onto your Pokémon's hidden ability Sheer Force. This will boost the power of any move your Totodile has or will learn that will add additional effects by 30%. That sounds good…but there's a downside. For example, the move Ice Fang which Totodile is likely to learn comes with a 10% chance of freezing your opponent…and a 10% chance of making them flinch. It's power is at 65. Can anyone tell what will happen with TJ's Totodile using Sheer Force?"
"It's power would boosted to 85, and the side effects rendered null in the process." Gretchen remarked.
"Excellent, you're catching on. Totodile will be able to brute force things, but this means if your attacking…you're only doing that. Any defensive, stat boosting moves…you'd need them."
Giselle had to admit that she admired the way he had in calculating strategy and Gretchen was giving him the eyes too.
"You, Mikey…pick." Crimson said as Mikey took up the Litten without question. "Ok, that's male. Standard ability. Oh, a tip…be easy on affection. Litten are pretty solitary, and it'll take a bit of time to build trust."
Vince took Froakie.
"We got a future kunoichi…it's a girl. Got Torrent for an ability." Crimson said as Gretchen came up.
"I'll take the Fennekin." Gretchen said taking up the fox Pokémon.
"Fits you. It's male…got the standard ability. And fair warning, it blows hot air out of it's air. 200 degrees Celsius. So, keep out of range when it does that." Crimson said as Giselle hit the button to return the Pokémon not picked to their balls.
"Now to present you with some communication devices. Popular in the Sinnoh region, they're called Pokétchs, or Pokémon Watches." Giselle said revealing equipment after taking them out of the cart.
Crimson saw they looked like the original version from Diamond and Pearl. However, they were black color with a little symbol of Kassai in the corner.
"Most students have some form of communication already…typically a PokéGear or a PokéNav. Some will just have a modded cell phone. While the school was able to get Spinelli a PokéGear, we could not get the same for you five…what I know is those five watches were modified by X Incorporated to have a few added features. For one the Pokémon List app is updated with full color for you to see the health, stats, moves, and abilities for it in real time. Aside from that, it comes with some standard apps. Your calculator, your map, Dowsing machine, friendship checker, and so on. Here's a manual for you to use to get it and your Student IDs which will function as your pseudo–Trainer ID. With this license, you are recognized as a Pokémon Trainer in the making with some of the privileges that come with it. Case in point, don't drink on campus…or at least don't get caught. Your passports have been updated as well with dual citizenship. You're now a part of Kanto but excuse me while I return the cart and get your updated passports."
She left them alone as Crimson took a seat on the teacher's chair.
"I remember when I started…seemed like months ago…because it was. Now I'm sure you have questions, but to make things easier. I got five tips of note that are important first and foremost. One, get a knife. Preferably a hunting knife…for when you're on the road…and emergency self-defense. Two, be able to defend yourself. Learn to fight…and handle yourself. Three, have a Water Pokémon that can ferry you over water…having your own Water transport is something you should have. Four…have a flier for air transport. Now this one is a bit more optional if you got a bike or other means of transport, but you now…how it is. Of course, you won't have authorization to do the last two until you get the badge requirements specifically the Thunder Badge from Vermillion City and the Soul Badge from Fuchsia City…both in mainland Kanto." Crimson explained.
"While Crimson is right, there's been a recent addendum for Kassai students. They can use their Pokémon to surf them around without authorization…only on Six Island. Students who can earn the Mindful Badge from the headmistress can get authorization to do this in Kanto entirely. As for flying, Kassai students can take on Selphy for the Gorgeous Badge on Five Island." Dex Bulma said as Gretchen was writing it all down.
"And the last one?" Gus asked.
"Note that the Pokémon and their types can have boons for you. Poison types can raise your resistance against toxins as Pokémon of the type typically give off a bit of poison. Electric types do the same thing toward electricity and can improve response time. Fire types can give you good heat resistance and it's the same with Ice types and cold. Water-types can help you to swim better as well as increase your lung capacity for deep diving for extended periods. Normal and Fighting types can teach you how to fight as well as increase muscle tissue if you're into extreme training. Flying types while not really giving a direct boon are good for having eyes in the skies and reaching for objects you can reach. Steel and Rock types can help with endurance. Ghost types can protect you from mental attacks. Those are the types that give direct boons. The other types are more what you can use them for." Crimson said idly writing detailed notes on the board without thinking. "Of course, with the 18 types, it's really elemental rock-paper-scissors."
Gretchen was agape at the quality and detail of the notes.
"No matter he's the champion…" TJ mumbled. "He's tough and he's smart."
"Of course, Kassai is going to teach you all is greater detail…but I think there's something a bit more I could be teaching. Something Kassai is less likely to teach you. More on the matter of us, humans. Now, you notice that are those gifted with superhuman abilities and such. Well, everyone has access to a form of it through the matter of ki. Basically, if you watched Dragon Ball…or Dragon Ball Z, it's a similar concept. Life force…energy within every living thing. Yadda yadda…now us humans are divided into four types. The normal ones…the jack of all trades that can learn auric and psychic techniques, but it's far more difficult for them. Plus, it won't be as powerful. Now you have the aurics, in tune with nature and can bond with Pokémon very well…likely myself. Our energy is far more potent as we can use aura like Pokémon can. Then there's the Psychics, they can use ESP…they easily bond with Psychic Pokémon or those Pokémon who can use psychic type moves and such. Hybrids get the best of both worlds as they're the product of an auric and a psychic. They're pretty rare…alongside aurics." Crimson said as Giselle returned.
"Sorry, I took so long…I had to get their pass for the Seagallop processed." Giselle said giving the passes and their passports. "This is the Flare Pass, it'll allow you to travel between the Sevii Island…when you graduate it'll be upgraded for you to be able to go to Kanto's mainland. Now I'll run you all through some final things before I dismiss class. Crimson, I'll take it from here."
Crimson was about to leave.
"Wait, Crimson? How do we figure it out…if we got the power or not?" TJ asked.
"Not too sure, not sure on chances on it for foreigners." Crimson said with a shrug. "Spend some time with your Pokémon…over time I could get a feel if you got the spark or not."
Crimson left some Nuggets on the table.
"Gretchen, there's one extra for Ashley…make sure she gets it." Crimson said before leaving.
"What are they?" Gus said.
"A golden Nugget…they're useless save to be sold. They're worth about five grand if you sell them at the shops." Giselle said looked stunned. "He just left 30 grand on the table for you all to share."
[New Capture!]
Torchic Lv5 (Male) (No Nickname Given) |Kept in a Poké Ball| [Currently in the PC]
Ability: Speed Boost
Nature: Modest
Characteristic: Alert to sounds
Met a Lv5 at Kassai Institute
Moves: Scratch, Growl, Ember, Night Slash, ?
(A/N: Night Slash is an egg move Torchic could get. Moving on, this is it. It's time to put an end to this story. I teased a few things and that was on purpose. Given I want to get Crimson to Hoenn, I could do a Pokémon Chronicles-esque spin off that show Crimson's days teaching before he left and the Recess gang going through school alongside covering what the rest of the cast is up to while Crimson's in Hoenn. If the demand is there, I'll consider the spin-off.)
