"I want to go somewhere that we can live in peace with the humans," Godric tells me after a moment of silence. "I am tired of fighting a neverending war."

"I know just the place," I tell him. It has been a while since I've been there. I do not know how much it has changed over the years, but if it is how I remember it, it is the perfect place for our journey to begin. "The only issue is that it is very far from here. You would not be able to contact Eric until we return." As he thinks it over, I look over to Eric and see the disappointment in his eyes and the sadness. I am taking away his creator when they have just been truly reunited once more. I feel guilt start to creep in as I watch him try to hide his emotions.

"It has been a long time since I left the country." He gives me a small smile. One that is almost forced onto his perfect face, but one that I know is genuine. His eyes bore into mine and I see a hurricane of emotions roaring inside them. While he was under my care he learned to control these emotions. They were a weakness to us in the forests. To express your true feelings was to give an advantage to your enemies and enemies seemed to lurk in every shadow. Times have changed and so has he. The marble that once sculpted his face has grown as soft and pliable as clay.

"I shall grant you and your progeny privacy while you say your goodbyes. I doubt he would want someone he has just barely met to be present during it." I turn to walk out of the room. Where I would go? I don't know. I have spent the majority of my immortal life wandering the Earth alone, I think I can wander for a few minutes longer as I wait for my creation to join me once more.

I take my time walking down the hallway. I can't help the worries and doubts that begin to plague my mind. Even though I am immortal, I am not immune to the thoughts and feeling many assume to only belong to humans. I hear footsteps from behind me as someone rushes to catch up to me. For a second I hope that it is Godric, or even my grandchilde Eric, but then I hear a heartbeat that only belongs to one of the living. I make no effort to slow my pace for my follower, but they catch up to me anyway as I reach the door leading up to the roof. In the corner of my eye, I see the blonde human from the meeting. I can already tell she is nosey for a human being. Over the centuries I have grown very accurate at reading people. It is a useful tool when having any sort of power in this world. Unless you are at the bottom of the pyramid, there will always be someone there that wants to take you down.

"Are you really Godric's maker?" Her southern accent is very prominent. I doubt she's ever left her small southern town before now. As I turn to glance at her, her appearance only confirms my suspicions. She is what people would consider a "Southern Beauty." She has the stereotypical blonde curls and tan skin that show the endless hours she has spent under the sun. Even her outfit screams "Small town girl."

"Yes, I am," I reply swiftly as a open the door and gracefully walk up the stairs. Unfortunately, she follows closely after me. In the past, I believed that a human's curiosity was one of their greatest qualities, but for this southern blonde, it seems to be her greatest weakness. I have no doubt that it will one day be her downfall.

"Wow, that must make you much older than him, right?"

I leave her question unanswered as I continue my journey. Night has fallen and it has become a habit of mine to look at the sky as the sun sleeps. This is a tradition of mine from when I was still human. The night sky always fascinated me in life, and now it continues to in death. I open the door that leads to my destination and walk out onto the deserted roof. Once I made it to the ledge I sit down and dangle my legs off of the side. The human joins me for some reason. I guess reading people is not one of her strengths like it is mine.

"You know, it's rude to ignore someone, but I will let it slide this one time." She turns her body towards mine and lifts her hand for me to shake. "My name is Sookie, Sookie Stackhouse."

I sigh and glance once more toward the girl named Sookie. "Magra," I stiffly reply. I don't take her hand. Instead, I look back to the stars.

She puts her hand down disappointedly. "You vampires are always so rude. Did y'all forget your manners when you died?"

"It is not us who has forgotten our manners. I have been polite to you considering how you are unable to read a room or a person for that matter," I reply coldly. Maybe this will make her go away. The one being in the world that I want to accompany me most is downstairs in my room.

She doesn't go away as I had hoped. She just stared at me in amusement and started laughing. "Never in my life have I been told that I am unable to read people," she says between giggles.

I furrow my brows in confusion. "Really? I find that hard to believe."

"I'd say I'm one of the best at reading people considering I'm a mind reader," She says in her southern drawl.

"And I'd say that makes your lack of abilities even more absurd," I tell her. The tiniest smile makes its way onto my face. I have to admit that she is a bit entertaining and I now know why her presence was allowed at the meeting the night before. Her gifts will get her into even more trouble than her curiosity.

Before she is able to respond, I hear the door open once more and familiar footsteps make their way over to me. "I hope my maker has been at least a bit hospitable. I must apologize for them, it has been a trying few millennia." I don't have to look at him to see his signature smirk and the mirth swimming in his eyes.

He also doesn't allow her to respond and comes to sit in between the nosey mind reader and myself. I listen her footsteps recede back into the building before turning my attention fully to my progeny. "That was fast," I tell him. I did not expect him to join me so soon.

"You have been left waiting long enough. Besides, it has been too long since we have sat together and watched the stares."

I scooch as close to him as I could before resting my head on his shoulder. Together we gaze at the same sky we saw all those years ago.

Author's note:

Hi!

I am so sorry, I know I said that I would start updating more, but I doubt that I will ever be that consistent. I am also starting college soon and I don't know how much that will affect my motivation and the amount of time I can spend writing. I promise that I will try to write more regularly! I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter. I am thinking of doing a flashback chapter of Godric and Magra's lives before he left. What do you guys think?
