Chapter 4: Spill the Tea, Sis
It had been a month since Yamamoto's party, and still, Enma can't seem to shake off the feelings he held for Haru. He's tried everything - he talked it out to Large, he validated his feelings, he gave himself time, he tried knowing his worth, the list can go on. If he had to be honest, Enma isn't even trying his hardest with trying to get over Haru - he talks to Large about it almost every chance he gets, he makes self-deprecating comments about himself and how he'll end up alone and how love is a scam, and again, the list can go on. So really, the redhead is disappointed, yet not surprised about how he's still hung up about his crush despite all of his best efforts to try and forget about her.
He thinks he knows why people are so delusional when it comes to love - it's for the hope if it all.
The bell above the door chimes, announcing the arrival of two girls. One of which looks really familiar...
"Oh, Enma-san!" Yamamoto's girlfriend smiles at him. "Long time no see!"
"O-Oh." He's taken aback - he hadn't expected to see Sayaka again after the party. "Hi, Izumi-"
"Oh? Your name's Enma?" The other girl interrupts. "I didn't know that - I kept calling you 'redhead' the entire party..." She muses.
"E-Eh?" Enma is flabbergasted. "A-Ano...I don't recall seeing you at the party..." He trails off. And he really hadn't noticed this new girl. With long blonde hair and mischievous emerald green eyes, this woman is gorgeous. But she's not his type. His type is a certain brunette with doe eyes -
"I mean, considering that you hogged Haru-chan the entire party, I doubt that you would have noticed anybody else." His thoughts are interrupted by a smirk from the blonde girl as Enma feels his cheeks burn.
"A-Ah, I didn't - "
"I'm just messing with you Enma." The blonde's smirk morphs into a kind smile and wow, she really is pretty. "It's not like you broke her heart or anything."
"Asa-chan!" Sayaka exclaims the same time Enma stutters out a "Wh-What?"
"What?" The blonde, Asa, asks rather too nonchalantly in Enma's opinion. "It's the truth."
"D-Did I do something to Haru-chan?" The redhead is positive that there is absolutely no way that he could have done something that made Haru upset. And even if he did, she would have let him know...right?
"You didn't do anything wrong, Enma. I swear." Asa replies quickly, perhaps taken aback. "When's your next break, by the way? I'll explain things then."
xoxo
"Oh Kami, this is delicious." Asa sighs blissfully, taking another sip of her Strawberry Acai Refresher. "You should have made the drinks at the party - oh! Can you make alcoholic drinks?" She perks up, looking at him excitedly. "Kami, I could have used a drink then."
"U-Uh, I've never made any alcoholic drinks before." Enma admits. "B-But about the party..." His voice trails off as he winces at how not subtle he is. Kami, he hopes Asa won't notice it.
"Oh yes, the party!" The blonde nods, taking a final sip of her drink before she turns her full attention to the redhead. "You'll never guess what happened between Haru-chan and Dame-Tsuna!"
"Wh-What happened between Haru-chan and Tsuna-san?" Enma asks, silently hoping that none of the girls think that he's nosy. Well, yeah he is nosy, but still. Nobody should know that but him and Kami.
The blonde girl gives him a dramatic look. "Dame-Tsuna got drunk and admitted his feelings for Kyoko-chan at the party."
"Wh-What?" There's no way that he heard her right. Because there is no way that Tsuna, who is so in love with Haru - as he should be because Haru is a queen - would ever do something like that to her." Wh-When did this happen? I...I don't remember this." Because he is pretty sure that there is no way in hell that he'd forget anything like that.
"At around midnight? I think? You must've left early, huh, Enma? You missed Tsuna telling Kyoko-chan that he's always loved her."
"Asa-chan!" Yamamoto's girlfriend scolds the same time Enma lets out a gasp.
"What?" Asa and Enma say at the same time. The only difference is, Asa is scoffing while Enma is genuinely in shock. "It's not like it's a classified secret anyways." She shrugs, once again, too nonchalantly as she takes another sip of her drink.
"Ts-Tsuna-san never loved Haru-chan?" Enma whispers, shocked.
"Pretty much, yeah." Asa nods, flipping strands of her long hair over a shoulder. "I mean, it's not very surprising. Or to me at least. It was disappointing, but not surprising. He's had the biggest crush on Kyoko since like, middle school."
"W-Well, then why did he date Haru-chan?"
"Who knows?" The blonde girl shrugs. "Haru's had a crush on him since middle school. They didn't start dating until the last few years of high school or so. And considering that this is our what, second year, of university, they've been together for some number of years."
"That's awful." Enma whispers. Never in his wildest dreams had he ever thought that this would be how Tsuna and Haru ended their relationship. Sure he's daydreamed of her leaving Tsuna when she realized what a catch Enma is - which is a complete lie - but nothing could compare with the reality that he's currently facing. Tsuna dated Haru without even having romantic feelings for her. She was essentially in a one-sided relationship for Kami-knows-how-long. "How...How is Haru-chan taking it?"
"She's doing better than expected, but there's no doubt that she's heartbroken." Sayaka looks glumly at her Matcha Frappuccino. "She hasn't been her usual self, but I can't blame her. I'd be just as depressed if I was in her shoes."
"Men are trash." Asa declares, finishing off her drink. "Dame-Tsuna is so shameless, I swear. Now that he broke Haru-chan's heart, he has the audacity - the AUDACITY - to blow up her phone and trying to see her at her dorm to explain himself." She clicks her tongue in disapproval. "Men."
As much as Enma wants to defend his sex, he finds that he can't. Especially not with what Tsuna had just done. Damn him, ruining the good name of men like Enma who can't even talk to a girl without stuttering, let alone get a girlfriend.
A phone chimes, alerting the trio that one of them has a text.
"Oh, it's my phone." Sayaka clarifies as she picks up her phone. "Oh, it's from Haru-chan." The girl with glasses pauses a moment as she reads the text. "Oh gosh, we ought to visit Haru-chan, Asa-chan. She sounds like she needs us."
"Of course." Asa says, sounding serious for the first time since Enma met her. "We gotta go, but it was nice to finally meet you, Enma! We should all hang out more! You're such a good listener." She beams, getting up from her seat.
"Bye, Enma-san! We'll see you later, ne?" Sayaka smiles, getting up from her seat as well.
"B-Bye..." The redhead says too late - the girls are already up and out of the door. He stays in his seat, staring at nothing in particular.
"What the hell just happened?"
