Chapter 3: A humble start

6 years later

"We are the sons of sparda. Within us flows his blood, but more importantly, HIS SOUL!" I felt myself yell. Standing in front of me was a blue clothed swordsman who seemed familiar. Both of us held the others' blades, clashing for supremacy before suddenly pushing each other away. "And my soul says it wants to stop you!" i heard myself speak. The blue clad swordsman pulled his hand up and spoke some words, but i couldn't hear them. As we start to run twords each other, i feel a voice call out to me, "-uby, Ruby, you need to get up. we have places to go, kiddo."

With that, my dream ends, and I look up to see my father by my bedside, trying to rouse me from my sleep. *yawn* "Good morning, dad." I said with a smile. "Good morning to you too, kiddo," he said, ruffling my dark locks of hair. Pushing his hand away and pouting, he laughs and says " We need to get going soon we have to meet your mother in mistrel so we can see her and bring her home today, plus we may get to see the sights and have some fun together." smiling at the thought of seeing my mom, i nod and start to get dressed.

Making my way downstairs, i see my big sister Yang. Going up and hugging her, i say, "Good morning, sis!" Yang, in a good mood, smiles and hugs me back, saying, " Good morning to you too, you excited to go see mom?" "Yeah, really excited," i replied, smiling ear to ear. "Well, we shouldn't make the trip on an empty stomach," said dad as he walked in, carrying a plate with bacon and pancakes. The rest of breakfast was quiet as we finished eating at the table.

"Alright, girls, I've got your bags packed and ready. Let's get to the air ship," my dad said as we walked to the car together. "Alright, Ruby, let's get you in your booster seat," stated my dad as he grabbed me from under my arms and lifted me up. After getting me situated in the car, we took off, and i dozed off into a nap.

I open my eyes to what seems like a messy looking room, with heads of creatures I've never seen before hung on the walls by swords. Suddenly, I hear a what sounds like an old scroll ring. I pick it up and hear a voice i recognize as the same from my dream last night speak from within myself, "Devil may cry," he said. "Sorry, we closed at nine," and then he hung up the wierd looking scroll. He then murmured to himself "Again no password, i can't seem to get any business recently."

Suddenly, im startled by a loud crash of a motorcycle breaking through my front door. "woah, slow down, babe." i hear myself say in response to the sudden entry. Getting a better look at the girl who drove a bike through what appears to be this persons shop. I see she's blonde, kinda like Yang, but she's tall and, for some reason, feels familiar.

"Well, well, what do we have here." i hear myself say in an almost uncaring tone. "So, you must be the handyman who'll take any dirty job, am i correct?" she questioned. "Well, i only take special kinds of jobs, if you know what i mean." i hear him reply. "You're the man who lost a mother and a brother 20 years ago to evil, aren't you, the son of the legendary..." she said, but i struggle to hear the last part of her sentence. "Well, the way i figure it out, if i kill each one who comes my way, I'll hit the jackpot sooner or later." I said, pointing an old looking sword at the lady.

"In that case, you should be used to this sort of thing," she said, grabbing the sword at the tip. Suddenly, an agonizing pain shoots into my body as i feel thousands of volts go through the sword from her hand. Then she kicked me away and into the table i had been propped up on earlier. I lay on the ground in shock. She then faster than i could follow, throws the sword i held earlier deep into my chest. Then tauntingly throws the bike at me, i feel my hands reach and pull two guns from my sides. "Time to go to work, boys." i say and shoot the bike over and over until it explodes in the blond ladies' face.

Just as quick as it came, the dream faded away, and i opened my eyes again to the back of the car with my father and sister. Squeezing my hands like they were missing something, i wondered what these dreams were about, but i guess I'll have time to think about it later. because we've arrived at the air strip.
