Jess POV
About ten minutes later, we were all gathered around the ring outside. I had just finished wrapping Hap's hands when Gem and Clay joined me with Lee. "What's going on?" Clay asked.
"Hap and I have been seeing each other casually for a while. Last night I realized that I fallen in love with him. He said that he fallen in love with me. Ask me to get his crow. I talked to Ope this morning and he was happy for me. Came to tell Jax before we told everyone else. At first Jax didn't say anything. When I tried to leave, he pulled me back to him, kissing me. Begging me to reconsider Hap's crow." I told them, never taking my eyes off the ring.
"You know that this has to be done, right?" Gemma asked me, putting an arm around my shoulders. I nodded.
"Hap wants to make it officially?" Lee asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah, we've practically been living together." I told him.
He pulled me into his side and kissed the side of my head. "I'm happy for you guys. You deserve it." He told me.
"Thanks. Think he'll get off easy with Donut and Lorca?" I asked.
"Maybe. But that's a big maybe." Lee said, causing me to laugh.
We stood there and watched as Hap landed punch after punch to Jax's face. I didn't like seeing Jax get hurt but I knew that this had to happen. That was one thing about the club. You didn't disrespect old ladies. And that's what I was now. I may not have the crow tat yet, but Hap had already asked me and I said yes.
After about 20 minutes, Clay put a stop to the fight. He told Hap and Jax to clean their selves up. Hap walked over and kissed me while Jax walked past us and into the clubhouse. After Hap kissed me, he headed inside to clean up.
Clay pulled me into a side hug, kissing the top of my head. "Don't worry, he'll get over it." He said.
When the rest of us finally made our way inside, Hap was standing at the bar with Donut and Lorca. I walked over to join them. "Hey guys." I said.
Hap wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into his side, kissing the side of my head. "Are you sure you wanna be stuck with this goof?" Donut asked.
I looked up at Hap with a big smile on my face. "I'm kinda attached to him." I said.
"Oh well…" Lorca said. "Congrats, guys. We're happy for you."
I looked back at Donut and Lorca and smiled. "Thanks." I said.
"You ready for your tat? I have my stuff with me." Hap whispered in my ear.
I nodded. "Absolutely." I said.
Hap led me back to his dorm and helped me get situated. I knew that he was planning on taking his time with my tat because he wanted it to be perfect.
After 45 minutes, Hap was finally finished. "Alright. Go look." He said. He wouldn't let me see the design until he was finished. Said he wanted it to be a surprise. I looked in the mirror and right under my collarbone sat a beautiful crow. It had it's wings spread out and in its talons was a scroll that said 'Lowman'. "What do you think?" He asked me.
"It's beautiful. I love it." I said turning around to look at him.
"You know what this means right?" He asked me. I could see his eyes getting dark, but not like they had when I'd told him that Jax kissed me. This was different. This was primal. I nodded my head. He closed the distance between us. "This means that your mine, and I'm yours. It means that if anyone tries to come between us or disrespect you that I will beat the living shit out of them." He said.
"Do you know how hot you look right now?" I asked him.
He pulled me close and crashed his lips to mine. Harder than he normally would. "You always look hot." He said before he threw me over his shoulder and carried me to the bed. He hovered over me, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. "I love you so much, Jess." He said.
I reached up and gently stroked his cheek. "Hap, you make me so happy. When I left Charming and came to Tacoma, I didn't think that I'd ever be this happy again. But you were patient with me, letting me find my balance. We started hanging out and then one day, I realized that my feelings for you had changed." I said, feeling a couple of tears run down my face. "Hap, I was broken and you fixed me." I said.
He leaned down and kissed me gently. "You weren't broken. You just needed someone to show you how you deserved to be treated." He said.
"I was broken. But that's okay because if I hadn't been broken and gone to Tacoma… I don't think that we'd be here right now." I told him.
He kissed my forehead. "Your absolutely perfect. I couldn't ask for a better old lady." He said.
Jax POV
After I'd cleaned up from my fight with Hap, I made my way out to the barroom. I grabbed a beer from the prospect and looked around. I saw Lee sitting at a table with Clay and Gemma while Donut and Lorca were at a pool table with Bobby and Tig. Kozik was playing darts with Chibs. Everyone else was scattered. I didn't see Hap and Jess. I really didn't care. I sat at the bar and started on my beer. Opie came walking in a few seconds later. He sat next to me at the bar and the Prospect handed him a beer. He looked over at me. "What the hell happened to you?" He asked me.
I sighed, knowing that I'd have to tell him or else Jess would. "Jess came to tell me that Hap wants to give her his crow. Instead of being happy for her, I kissed her. Begged her to reconsider getting his crow." I told him. He let out a low whistle. "So in turn Hap took me to the ring. Beat the crap outta me."
"You know that was a dick move right?" He asked me.
I nodded, looking down at my beer. "I know. I guess I just needed reassurance that it was really over, you know?" I said.
"I get it. But you need to let her go. Now that they've made it official, you know what will happen if you do anything like that again." He said.
"I know. I'm thinking about having Gemma keep the kid for a while and going up to the cabin. Clear my head." I told him.
"Might do you some good." Ope said.
