Publishing Schedule, Summary & Soundtrack

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank every one of you readers who decided to start this journey with me.

The Longing of the Dragon is a completed novella totaling over 90k words, each one written with care, about Lance the Dragon Master & an OC named Maya. It is a pure romantic drama and original story, surrounding a fictional imagining of Lance's untold history where I attempted to include & intertwine everything canon that we know about him from both the anime & the games.

The story is fully written & below you will find the chapter release schedule, set to premiere every Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 6pm ET throughout the rest of June & July 2023:

Soundtrack: In this story, Lance's father was known around Kanto as a brilliant music composer & pianist. The famous music that he's known for is the soundtrack that can be heard in the Red/Blue/Yellow games, as well as a lot of the Johtonian music heard in the Gold/Silver/Crystal games. There are a few chapters that have this music featured in it, and were written as I listened to AMAZING YouTuber piano covers of these songs. In the summaries of each music-related chapter, I will be posting links to these specific YouTube videos that have these cover songs, so that you can immerse yourself in the music as it plays in the story. If for some reason I am unable to post the links, I will create a public YouTube Playlist with these cover songs and find a way to post that instead. I want to give all the credit to the INCREDIBLE musicians of YouTube who inspired so much of this story.

A little about me & why I wrote this: I am a novelist who rediscovered my love for Pokemon when the Masters 8 was first airing in Japan. Though I've always been a fan of him, I found myself completely taken by Lance's character in Journeys & wondered about what life must have been like for him after his loss at the Masters 8.

A note about other Lance shippers: All of you have my undying RESPECT! I know there is often drama around shipping, but I want to be clear that I have a CRAZY amount of respect for anyone who stans Lance in any way. Please for the sake of my story, imagine that it takes place in an alternate universe & timeline, far and away from your favorite Lance timeline where he is happy together with someone else. I feel through our Lance fandom, we all have something in common: We all tend to write him with similar qualities: Brutally intelligent, intense, deeply complicated & mysteriously sly. I always found it amazing that we all see him this way, so please remember: I have THE UTMOST RESPECT for anyone who is a fan of him, and anyone who is such a fan of Pokemon that they read any part of my story at all.
