Monday morning arrived, and Silver found himself waking up in the lavish Georgian style guest room at the Draventon estate. The room was a true embodiment of luxury and elegance, evoking the opulence of the 18th century with its exquisite decor and intricate details.
Silver slowly opened his eyes, and was greeted by the soft glow of sunlight filtering through the heavy, floor-length drapes adorned with delicate floral patterns. The drapes framed the large, ornate windows, offering a glimpse of the beautiful garden outside. The garden was known for its meticulously manicured hedges, blooming roses, and a charming water fountain in the distance.
The walls of the guest room were painted in a soothing, creamy white color, adorned with golden floral patterns that added a touch of sophistication and elegance. The room's high ceiling boasted intricate molding, and a magnificent crystal chandelier hung from the center, casting a warm and inviting glow throughout the space.
Silver's eyes wandered to the grand four-poster bed, draped in sumptuous curtains in shades of gold and champagne, cascading down to the floor, exuding an air of romance and regality. The bedding was plush and inviting, adorned with fine satin sheets and an array of throw pillows in shades of white and gold, a testament to the Draventon family's attention to detail.
A beautifully carved wooden writing desk with a matching chair sat against one of the walls, a quill pen and inkwell neatly arranged atop it. Silver could almost imagine the past occupants of the room sitting there, penning letters or indulging in leisurely activities.
Near the window, a cozy sitting area was arranged with a pair of upholstered armchairs and a small round table. The upholstery boasted a subtle floral pattern in soft shades of white and champagne, adding a touch of femininity to the room. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of tea or engage in a quiet conversation.
The guest room's en-suite bathroom was equally luxurious, adorned with marble tiles in shades of white and champagne, accented with elegant gold fixtures. A freestanding clawfoot bathtub stood proudly in the center, inviting relaxation and indulgence. A crystal chandelier hung above the bathtub, adding a touch of glamor to the bathing experience. The bathroom also featured an elegant vanity, complete with a plush stool and an assortment of high-end beauty products.
As Silver stretched and rose from the bed, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty and grandeur of the guest room. It was as if he had stepped back in time to a bygone era of elegance and refinement. The Draventon family's estate truly was a sight to behold. Silver was excited for a week-long holiday with the Draventon family at their grand Estate. Anthony's family had graciously invited him to spend some quality time with them, and he couldn't wait to spend time with Anthony's family and experience life at their impressive estate. However, he would be saddened as Anthony would be too busy with his training but promise to be there on Saturday.
As he prepared for the day, Silver couldn't help but feel grateful for the warm hospitality of the Draventon family. Spending a week in such a magnificent place was a rare and cherished opportunity, and he was eager to explore the estate's many wonders and create lasting memories with his newfound family.
Silver let out a yawn and stretched, feeling the comfort of the plush bed beneath him. He glanced at the bedside table, where a delicate bell awaited his call. Curious, as he didn't notice the bell from the start, about the ringing bell, Silver decided to give it a gentle ring, wondering what would happen next.
In response to the bell, the guest room door opened gracefully, revealing an elderly gentleman in his late 60s, with a distinguished appearance and a warm smile that radiated kindness. He has silver hair neatly combed back and a well-groomed beard. He was dressed impeccably in a black tailcoat, a white shirt with a bow tie, and trousers.
"Good morning, Master Silver," The man greeted with a respectful bow. "My name is Mr. Rufus, and I trust you had a restful sleep?"
Silver nodded, still slightly in awe of the opulence surrounding him. "Yes, thank you, Mr. Rufus. It's a beautiful room."
"Indeed, it is," Mr. Rufus replied with a knowing smile. "The Duke and Duchess take great pride in making their guests feel comfortable and at home."
As Silver sat up in bed, he noticed the door opening once again, and four servants, two men and two women, entered the room.
"Ah, it seems the valets and maids have arrived to assist you in getting dressed," Mr. Rufus explained. "They will ensure you look your best for the day ahead."
The male valets, dressed in smart tailcoats and trousers, carefully laid out Silver's attire for the day from the closet. They selected a lilac shirt blouse featuring long sleeves which rolled up above the elbow. This dark purple knitted vest with three white buttons and white trouser pants for his shirt to tuck in including his brown leather belt. A pair of white Chuck Taylor shoes with white socks hidden inside of his trousers.
Meanwhile, the female maids attended to his grooming needs. They gently styled his wavy, black hair, arranging it in a neat and sophisticated manner. As they worked, the maids chatted amicably with Silver, asking about his preferences and ensuring that he felt comfortable with the arrangements.
Once the dressing and grooming were complete, Silver looked at himself in the full-length mirror, feeling both grateful and slightly self-conscious about his attire in the midst of the Draventon family's opulent world.
Mr. Rufus noticed the hint of hesitation on Silver's face and approached him with a reassuring smile. "You look splendid, Master Silver. The pastel blue suits you perfectly, and remember, you are an esteemed guest of the Duke and Duchess. They hold you in high regard, and you are more than deserving of this grand treatment."
Silver took a deep breath, absorbing Mr. Rufus' kind words. "Thank you, Mr. Rufus. I just can't help but feel a little overwhelmed by all of this. The Draventon estate is magnificent, and I can't help but feel like the odd one out with my pastel blue attire."
Mr. Rufus placed a reassuring hand on Silver's shoulder. "You may not come from an aristocratic family like the Draventons, but you are a kind-hearted, talented young man who has captured the heart of their son, Lord Anthony. The Duke and Duchess value you for who you are, not for your background or attire. Embrace this experience, and remember that you belong here just as much as anyone else."
Silver smiled gratefully, comforted in Mr. Rufus's wise words. "Thank you, Mr. Rufus. I will keep that in mind."
With a nod of approval, Mr. Rufus stepped back, allowing Silver to take in his reflection once more. As he admired the intricate details of his attire and appreciated the effort the Draventon family had put into making him feel welcome, he couldn't help but feel a newfound sense of belonging and appreciation for this extraordinary experience. He was ready to embrace the day ahead and spend time with Anthony's family in the grand estate that now felt a little more like his own.
Once everything was finished, Mr. Rufus escorted the young man and Silver made his way down the lavishly decorated hallway. He was marveled at the opulence of the Draventon estate. Antique paintings adorned the walls, depicting the family's prestigious history. Fresh flowers that were placed inside of the old porcelain vase, releasing a wonderful smell throughout the hall. The soft glow of crystal chandeliers illuminated the corridor, adding to the sense of grandeur.
As they approached the grand dining room doors, Silver could hear the joyful chatter and laughter of the Draventon family. He feels nervous about meeting Anthony's parents and siblings as their guest. Once Mr. Rufus announced his arrival and stepping into the dining room, he was met with warm smiles and a sense of belonging that put him at ease.
Duke Edward Draventon stood tall at the head of the table, a commanding presence exuding dignity and authority. He greeted Silver with a firm handshake and a warm smile. "Welcome, Silver. We're delighted to have you here with us. I hope you slept well in our humble abode."
"Thank you, Your Grace. Your home is breathtaking, and the guest room is truly remarkable," Silver replied. However, as he scanned the room, he noticed there were only ten chairs around the grand dining table, one short of the total family members present.
"Master Silver, please have a seat here," Mr. Rufus said, gesturing towards Anthony's empty chair, which was placed beside the Duke's seat at the head of the table. "As Lord Anthony's guest and a dear friend of this family, you are most welcome to sit in his stead during his absence."
"Oh!" Silver exclaimed, slightly taken aback by the suggestion. "A-are you sure? I am not sure about sitting in his chair."
Cora, Anthony's younger sister, chimed in with a teasing smile. "Oh, come now, Silver! We've all heard so much about you from Anthony. You're practically part of the family already! Besides, someone has to take on the role of Anthony's wife while he's away, right?"
The rest of the family chuckled, and even the Duke exchanged amused glances. It was clear that Anthony had spoken fondly of Silver, and they all seemed delighted to have him there as part of the family.
"Father mentioned you'd be joining us for a week," Dennise said with a kind smile once Silver is settled down. "We've been looking forward to having you here as our guest."
"Yes, we are," added Fredrick. "It's wonderful to have you here with us."
Silver felt his nervousness fading away as the Draventon family's welcoming demeanor put him at ease. Once the breakfast meal began, the dining table was filled with an assortment of delectable dishes prepared by the estate's talented chefs. Silver marveled at the culinary delights before him, each dish a work of art that reflected the family's refined tastes.
Erick leaned forward with genuine curiosity in his eyes. "So, Silver, tell us more about yourself. Anthony has mentioned a lot, but we'd love to hear from you directly."
Silver felt a warm smile spreading across his face as he appreciated the family's interest in getting to know him better. "Of course, I'd be happy to share. Well, I am part of the famous hero in the Magical World called "Dream Defender", and I am the Defender of Love." He began. "I've always loved helping others and lending a helping hand and a compassionate ear, providing comfort to others. There are some rough patches here and there, but I enjoy it."
"And what about your hobbies or interests?" Curious, Cora asked.
"I'm really into art," Silver replied, his excitement evident. "I love sketching and painting, and I'm currently attending the University of Central Florida in Orlando Florida. It's always been a passion of mine, and I find it so fulfilling to express myself through art."
Cora nodded with interest. "Art is such a beautiful way to express yourself. Do you have any favorite artists or styles that inspire you? Or even any favorite painting you absolutely love?"
Silver's eyes lit up as he spoke about his favorite painting. "Yes, I absolutely adore The Swing painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard." He answered. "The playfulness of the subject, the lush scenery, and the skillful use of light and color make it a masterpiece in my eyes. It captures the essence of joy and romance, and every time I look at it, it almost feels like the painting is so whimsical and beautiful. I even printed it out and hung it in my room." He chuckled.
Cora's eyes widened in fascination. "That sounds amazing! And I've heard that you have this incredible ability to communicate with animals. Is that true?"
Silver nodded, happy to share this unique aspect of himself. "Yes, it's true. I have this gift to communicate with animals. Ever since I was young, I could understand what they were saying, and they could understand me too. It's like we have our own secret language."
Henrietta gasped, intrigued. "That's amazing! Can you talk to all animals? Even the wild ones?"
Silver smiled warmly and chuckled. "Yes, I can talk to all kinds of animals. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, and even the ones that are deemed too dangerous." He answered her question. "It's a gift that has brought me so much joy and has helped me befriend some wonderful creatures."
"Wow, that's so cool!" Frederick exclaimed. "Can you understand what our dog is saying?"
As if on cue, the Draventon family's loyal Rottweiler dog, Max, walked up to Silver, his tail wagging in curiosity. Silver smiled and extended a hand towards Max, initiating their silent communication.
"Hey there, Max," Silver said softly, his eyes locked with the dog's warm, expressive gaze. "How are you doing today?"
To the surprise of everyone at the table, Max responded back and let out a contented bark and nuzzled against Silver's hand, clearly enjoying the attention.
"I'm very well, thank you. am pleased to have you here as our guest for a week." Max spoke to him.
Silver chuckled and scratched behind Max's ears, continuing their unspoken conversation.
"I'm glad you're happy," Silver said, his heart warmed by the affectionate exchange. "You're such a good boy, and you have a wonderful family."
Max's bark to him, as if in agreement. "Why thank you. I have been blessed with this wonderful family to raise me."
Silver could feel the dog's deep bond with the Draventon family, a bond that transcended words and was felt through a connection that went beyond the ordinary. "He's saying that he's happy to meet me and that he knows he has a wonderful family!" He told them.
"He loves being part of the family," Frederick chimed in, watching the interaction with delight. "He's always been so loyal and protective of all of us."
"He's definitely part of the family," Silver replied, still communicating with Max. "I can feel how much he cares for all of you."
Beatrice, who had been listening attentively, spoke up. "Your ability to connect with animals is truly remarkable, Silver. I can see why my brother is so fond of you. You have a special gift that not many possess."
"Thank you, Beatrice," Silver replied humbly. "It's a gift that I cherish, and it has brought me closer to nature and the world around me."
Dennise leaned forward, curiosity got the best from her. "Have you ever used your ability to communicate with animals to help people or solve problems?"
"Yes, I have," Silver answered with a nod. "There was a time when a family in my neighborhood lost their pet cat, and they were devastated. I offered to help, and through communication with the neighborhood cats, I was able to locate the missing cat and reunite it with its family. It was such a rewarding experience."
"Truly, you have the heart of a hero," Duke Edward remarked. "Using your gifts to help others is a noble calling."
Tuesday
Tuesday morning arrived, and Silver found himself eagerly anticipating the day ahead. The Draventon family had planned a sightseeing tour around London, and he was excited to explore the city's iconic landmarks and historical treasures with Anthony's family.
For today's outing, he is dressed in this knitted, light blue double-breasted coat made from a wool-cashmere blend. It features embossed four gold-tone buttons, peak lapels, a double-breasted button fastening, long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, a mid-length, and four side flap pockets. Inside of the coat was this knitted white soft long-sleeve sweater in a solid-color shaker-stitch pattern with ribbed trim on the round neckline, wrists and below-waist hemline for a classic look. Tuck inside his sweater was this pair of fitted skinny trousers with a light leather belt wrap around his waist. Sat on his head, was this dark red wool fedora hat with a studded accent, his long hair was later changed into a neck-length using his magic paintbrush.
With his outfit complete, Silver was ready to join the Draventon family for their London excursion. As Mr. Rufus escorted him to the Dining Room, he couldn't help but feel excitement as he never once traveled to any other country besides his home country and the Magical World, especially listening to some story from Adam and Melanie about their tour around the world and visiting new places to see. Being invited on this adventure was a privilege, and he was eager to make the most of the day.
Upon reaching the Dining Room, Silver was met with warm smiles from the family members. The room was bathed in sunlight, and the table was set with an array of delicious breakfast dishes.
"Good morning, Silver!" Duke Edward was the first to greet him. "Are you ready for our London adventure?"
"Absolutely!" Silver replied with enthusiasm as he sat down in Anthony's chair. "I can't wait to see all the amazing sights London has to offer."
However, Silver couldn't help but notice a quizzical expression on Dennise's face, especially everyone around the table, as she glanced at him. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Silver, didn't your hair used to be waist-length? I could have sworn I saw it that way before."
Silver chuckled, realizing that Dennise had noticed the change in his hairstyle. "Yes, it was waist-length before," he explained. "My hair can change length using my magic paintbrush. It's a special gift of mine. I wanted a different look for today, so I used my paintbrush to adjust the length."
Frederick's eyes widened with fascination. "You have a magic paintbrush? That's so wonderful!"
Silver nodded, happy to share more about his magical abilities. "Yes, it's a unique gift I have been given by Yen Sid and he helped me train how to use my magic paintbrush properly. I can paint anything I want with the brush, and it becomes real. It's quite handy and has helped me in various situations."
Cora smiled, finding the concept enchanting. "I wish I had a magic paintbrush. I'd paint so many beautiful dresses and outfits!"
"You already have impeccable taste in fashion, Cora," Silver complimented her. "You don't need a magic paintbrush to look stunning."
Blushing slightly, Cora thanked him for the kind words and compliments. "Well, I hope you have a wonderful time today, Silver. I'm sure you'll love London."
"Thank you, Beatrice. I'm really looking forward to exploring London with all of you," Silver said warmly.
During Breakfasts, Silver noticed that most members of the Draventon family were dressed in jewel tones—rich colors like amethyst, emeralds, and sapphires—representing their signature style and status. Meanwhile, he wore a red coat, a color that complemented his friendly and gentle personality but stood out in contrast to the opulence of the family's jewel-toned attire. Silver had always been drawn to brighter and softer colors, like pastel for instance, as they reflected his inner warmth and love for beauty in all its forms.
He couldn't help but feel a slight pang of self-consciousness. While he knew that the Draventon family embraced him wholeheartedly, the difference in their attire made him feel like the odd one out or even out of place.
While everyone is enjoying their delectable breakfast dishes, Erick notices the color in Silver's coat. He furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head curiously.
"Silver, I just realized something," Erick said with a playful grin. "Your coat! It's red, just like Anthony's signature color."
Silver blinked, and then he looked down at his outfit, noticing the rich red hue of his double-breasted coat. He hadn't even thought about it until now. It was true; the color was indeed similar to Anthony's signature shade. He blushed, realizing he had unknowingly chosen a coat that mirrored Anthony's signature color. "Oh, I didn't even notice that. It wasn't intentional, but I suppose it's a lovely coincidence."
Duke Edward chuckled softly. "It suits you well, my boy. The color complements your skin tone beautifully."
Silver chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, I've always been drawn to soft and bright colors. They make me feel happy and at ease. Blue, in particular, has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference." He told them. "It's just a coincidence that I happened to pick this red coat for today's outing rather than choosing any other in a soft or bright color."
Duke Edward raised an amused eyebrow. "You know, we Draventons are known for wearing jewel-toned colors. Each family member has their signature color, and it's become a bit of a tradition."
"Yes," Duchess Vivian chimed in. "For example, I often wear shades of deep jewel tone, and each of my children has their own unique color too."
"I'm afraid I'm quite the odd one out when it comes to signature colors," Silver admitted with a chuckle. "I look completely like a fish out of water considering that I am the only one to wear this color."
"But that's what makes you unique," Dennise said kindly. "It's wonderful to have a range of colors in the family, and you bring your own touch of charm and elegance with your attire."
The family continued chatting amicably during breakfast, discussing their plans for the day and sharing stories from their own experiences in the city. Silver felt a sense of camaraderie with the Draventons, as if he had known them for much longer than just a day.
After breakfast, they all gathered in the foyer, ready to embark on their tour. Mr. Rufus and the other servants had made all the necessary arrangements, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. A collection of two black LEVC TX vehicles awaited them. It was a charming and fitting way to explore the city, considering the Draventon family's penchant for classic elegance.
Silver climbed into one of the vehicles, accompanied by Duke Edward (the driver) and Duchess Vivian who both sat in the front. Dennise, and Beatrice sat with him in the passenger seats while the others climbed into another vehicle from behind. The ride through the streets of London was like stepping back in time. Silver admired the historical architecture, the bustling streets, and the mix of modernity with old-world charm. Throughout the journey, the Duke and Dennise shared anecdotes about the city's history and landmarks, making the experience all the more captivating.

Silver:
Look at the streets and the sights all around
In the great old London city,
I gaze around, suddenly I am amazed and I explore
Silver's curiosity and excitement sometimes got the better of him, leading to comical mishaps.
Silver:
Don't mind me as I
Stroll for the first time
Gaze for the first time
Trying to navigate through this bustling town
At one point, he got so absorbed in photographing a particularly interesting detail in the London Square that he lost track of the group, prompting a hilarious search-and-find mission. Luckily, the Draventon family found him soon enough, and they all laughed about it together.
Their next stop is the Greenwich Market.
Silver:
Look at this market, so many thing to buys
And stuffs that's on sale
Let me admire it, oh wow! They are so beautifulI wonder how much they are as I
During a shopping stop at a bustling market, Silver was admiring all those wonderful items they have on the display window, but once again, he lost track of the Draventon family.
Silver:
Shop for the first time
Browse for the first time
Everything's busy and thrilling and vibrant
But now that I'm distracted, they had lost me again
I'm trying to make way through this English market
At first, Silver caught a glimpse of someone with a striking resemblance to Duke Edward and excitedly rushed towards him, thinking he had found Anthony's family. It turned out to be a humorous case of mistaken identity, and Silver couldn't help but laugh at his own enthusiasm.
Once again, the Draventon family found him soon enough, Henrietta even joking say how they might as well put an child leash on him so they can't lose him again. They all laughed together while Duchess Vivian shook her head and scolded the young glasses-wearing man.
The Draventon Family have more in store for him to see. The fun attraction they can all go on without Silver getting lost, the London Eye.
Silver:
How high can we go up?
Is this completely safe?
Riding the London Eye provided both breathtaking views and a sense of adventure.
Silver:
Well, nothing has gone wrong
Come on, Silver, stop being an scary cat!
The gentle swing of the carriage made Silver a bit nervous, but the Draventon family reassured him, and he enjoyed the experience in their company.
Silver:
Walking through Palace where the history resides
In each room and corridors
This palace's charms, they're hard to disguise
Are my dreams adjusting?
While touring Buckingham Palace, Silver was captivated by the grandeur of the royal rooms. He was so enchanted by the opulent surroundings that he accidentally knocked over a small royal vase.
Silver:
As I explore for the first time
Here for the first time
Now for the first time
We're wandering through the royal palace sights
Thankfully, it didn't break as he managed to catch the vase and gracefully put it back in its place, Silver's blush in embarrassment as he speed walked away the vase that he almost broke.
Silver:
And the sounds
From the square
To the palace
In this moment
I'll remember this
Every day
Throughout the day, Silver's genuine personality and warmth continued to win the hearts of the Draventon family. They were charmed by his sense of wonder, his ability to see the beauty in everything, and his genuine passion for art and communication with animals.
Silver:
Embrace the moments and capture each sight
As we adventure through London
The memories made, they'll stay with me bright
In this holiday I'll embarking
Excited for the first time
Enthralled for the first time
London's allure is like a spell pulling me in
The day passed by in a whirlwind of enchanting sights and experiences. The family visited renowned landmarks like the Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben clock tower, the Westminster Abbey, and Kensington Palace. Silver listened intently as the Draventon shared stories and history about each place, and he appreciated their passion for history lessons they gave him.
Throughout the day, the family's warmth and inclusivity made Silver feel like he truly belonged. Each member embraced him with open arms, and he felt an unspoken connection with them that went beyond Anthony's presence. The Draventon family had welcomed him into their fold, making him feel like he was part of something truly special.
As the sun rises down with a peachy and orange color filled in the sky. Everyone returned to the estate with cherished memories of their London adventure. Silver, who bought some souvenirs during the tour around London, was grateful for their warm embrace and acceptance.
Wednesday
Wednesday morning dawned with the Draventon family had planned a visiting trip to the charming countryside, and Silver was eager to explore the beauty of the English landscapes. As they traveled through picturesque villages and lush green fields, Silver's admiration for the natural beauty of the countryside grew with every passing mile.
For the day's outing, Silver had chosen a more casual and comfortable outfit, perfect for the outdoor activities. He wore a white fine-knit sweater in soft cotton with a ribbed turtleneck, long sleeves, and ribbing at cuffs and hem. Pair on top was this magenta pink loose-fit sweater made from a soft jacquard knit. The sweater features a crew neck, heavily dropped shoulders, and long sleeves. Additionally, there is ribbing at the neck, cuffs, and hem. There is even a large image of the alpaca head on the center with two white stripes, one above and one below. For his lower half, he wore dark wash olive green jeans that allowed for ease of movement as they explored the countryside. To complete the look, he opted for a pair of comfortable hiking boots in mid-calf length that provided ample support for the day's adventures.
They set off for the countryside in their vehicles, the Draventon family's excitement was infectious. They shared stories, laughed, and bonded over the experiences they had shared in their lives. They traveled deeper into the countryside and Silver looked through the window, the scenery outside the window unfolded like a beautiful painting. Rolling green hills, quaint cottages, and fields of blooming flowers passed by, painting a picture of tranquility and natural beauty.
Upon reaching their destination, a picturesque river with towering trees behind, the Draventon family set up a lovely picnic spread on the grass, not far from where their vehicles were parked. There were fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, a selection of cheeses, and decadent desserts that delighted everyone's taste buds.
Silver found himself savoring each bite, his appreciation for good food aligning perfectly with the Draventon family's love for gourmet meals and couldn't help but enjoy the air for the English countryside outside.
However, as the family prepared for the outdoor activities, Silver noticed a peculiar sight. Duke Edward was getting ready to go hunting, and he had a rifle in hand with the family dog, Max, ready to company the Duke.
"Are you going hunting, Your Grace?" Silver asked, surprise evident in his voice.
The Duke smiled and nodded. "Why yes, of course, Silver. Hunting is one of the long standing traditions of the Draventon family. It's an opportunity for us to connect with nature and enjoy the thrill of the hunt."
Silver's eyes widened in shock, and he exchanged a glance with the other family members, who seemed unbothered by the idea. However, this tradition was entirely new and foreign to him, and he couldn't help but feel uneasy.
"You see," Duchess Vivian chimed in, with a tone that seemed too enthusiastic. "It's a chance for us to bond as a family and experience the rustic charm of the countryside. Hunting has been part of our family's heritage for generations."
"I understand that it's a tradition, but..." Silver hesitated, searching for the right words. "I'm not sure if hunting aligns with my values. I have a deep connection with animals since I have an ability to communicate with them, and I don't feel comfortable with the idea of taking their lives for sport or entertainment."
They all fell silent for a moment as Silver's words hung in the air. He could feel the tension building, especially coming from Duchess Vivian, who seemed displeased with his response.
"Dear, it's just a bit of sport," she said, trying to downplay the seriousness of the activity. "We don't hunt for necessity; it's simply a recreational activity, and the animals are raised for this purpose."
"But it's still taking a life," Silver persisted, feeling his heart race with the weight of the conversation. "I understand it's a long-standing tradition, but my connection are deeply rooted in compassion and respect for all living beings. I can't condone hunting as a form of entertainment."
Duke Edward seemed to consider Silver's words for a moment, his expression thoughtful. "You have a point, Silver. While hunting has been a part of our family's tradition, we must also be open to different perspectives and respect each other's beliefs."
Duchess Vivian, however, was less accepting of Silver's viewpoint. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and a tense atmosphere filled the area. "It's just a hunt," she said dismissively, her tone cold. "If you don't wish to participate, you can stay here while we go out into the wood."
Silver's heart sank at the thought of being left behind while the family enjoyed their day. He had come to cherish the time spent with the Draventons, and the idea of being excluded hurt deeply.
Before Silver could respond, Cora stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Silver's shoulder. "Mother, Silver is our guest, and we should respect his choices. If he's uncomfortable with hunting, then we should find an alternative activity that everyone can enjoy together."
Frederick and Dennise nodded in agreement, showing their support for Silver's feelings. Even Erick spoke up. "Cora is right. We should consider Silver's perspective and perhap we could find something else to do. There are plenty of other fun activities we can enjoy besides hunting."
Duke Edward looked at his family, his face softened by their consideration for their guest. He glanced at Silver. "We do value your presence here, Silver, and we want you to feel included in our family outings. Let's find an alternative activity that we can all enjoy together."
A sense of relief washed over Silver, grateful that the family was willing to accommodate his feelings. "Thank you, Sir. I appreciate your understanding."
"We could take a stroll through the countryside or explore the town," Dennise suggested, offering a thoughtful alternative.
"That sounds wonderful," Silver replied with a smile. "I'd love to explore the beauty of the countryside with all of you."
Cora added, "We can also have a friendly family game or try some outdoor activities together."
With the tension diffused and the atmosphere lightened, the Draventon family quickly agreed on a new plan and focused on activities that everyone could enjoy together besides hunting of course. They set off on a leisurely stroll through the countryside, taking in the beauty of nature without the backdrop of hunting or harming any creature that lives in the area.
As they walked, Silver, while taking pictures, found himself engaged in heartfelt conversations with various family members. The sibling made sure he felt included in their conversations as they walked through the woods.
Later after the walk in the forest, they pack up and explore the charming town nearby. In the small town, the Draventon family and Silver continued to explore its charming small shops and interact with the friendly locals and tourists.
The town was filled with cobbled streets, old-fashioned cottages and houses, and beautiful flower displays that adorned every corner. Silver, armed with his phone, couldn't resist capturing the beauty of the town in photographs.
They visited a local bakery, famous for its freshly baked goods. The sweet aroma of pastries and bread filled the air as they stepped inside. The baker greeted them warmly and recommended a variety of treats to try. They picked an assortment of pastries, including flaky croissants, delectable fruit tarts, and traditional scones. They also bought a loaf of freshly baked bread to enjoy later at home for breakfast.
Next, they wandered through a quaint bookshop, where Silver found himself drawn to the shelves filled with novels from different genres. The owner of the bookshop happily told them that they can buy or even rent the book for them to choose from the bookshelves. Silver decided to buy one book for each of his friends back home.
After the bookshop, they visited a charming cafe, where they indulged in a traditional English afternoon snack. Silver savored the flavor of the freshly brewed tea and enjoyed the assortment of sandwiches, scones, and delicate pastries. The conversation flowed easily, and the family shared fond memories and laughed together.
Soon, it was time to go back to the estate. They drove back from the countryside, the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange. Silver joined the family for early dinner, where they relished the bakery treats they had bought earlier.
Later that evening, Silver sat by the fireplace with the family after their early dinner in the family living room. Erick decided they should all play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe together before they head off for bed. Erick, Silver, Cora, and surprisingly Duke Edward pick their character to play and kart to ride on.
In the end, Silver ended up being the winner with Cora in 2nd place, Erick (who was said to be the greatest player of all time from his family) ended up in 3rd place, and to no one's surprise, the 8th Duke Edward was in last place.
Thursday
Thursday morning brought in excitement as Silver prepared to accompany the Draventon mother and daughters for their final fitting for the upcoming Victorian ball, hosted by the Duke and Duchess Draventon. The estate was abuzz with preparations for the grand event, and Silver was eager to witness the beauty and elegance of the ball that would take place on Saturday, outdoors in their garden.
With Mr. Rufus leading him a way to the foyer where they are all waiting for him, Silver wore this white long-sleeve classic shirt that he tucked in which featured a button-down silhouette and folden up sleeves above his elbow. He also put on a light brown sleeveless sweater top and long dark brown fitted pants held up with a light brown belt. On his feet was a white stocking and a pair of darker brown leather slip-on ankle boots. To keep him warm from the cold temperatures, he put on a brown Princess-style knee-length coat dress that has a fit-and-flare silhouette, a set-in waistband and a notch collar with peak lapels.
For the finished touch, he tied his hair into a ponytail with the ribbon that matched his coat with a matching dark brown wool felt beret with a velvet ribbon bow on his left side and black leather gloves. Lastly, he used his pin featuring a key with Cinderella's pumpkin carriage pinned on his left lapel.
Entering the foyer, the Draventon daughters admired his impeccable sense of style. Dennise, Beatrice, Cora, and Henrietta all greeted him warmly, excited for the fitting ahead.
"Good morning, Silver," Cora said with a smile. She is dressed in this mustard yellow color coat dress featuring a v-neckline accentuated with wide tapered tucks, pronounced shoulders, an inset waistband, long cuffed sleeves and a calf-length pleated skirt. A beautiful headband covered in nappa leather in blue and features decorative handmade camellias and wore this lovely leather ankle-strap heel in darker shade of her coat color. "You look absolutely dashing! The color suits you perfectly."
"Thank you, Cora," Silver replied, blushing slightly at the compliment. "I thought the brown hue would be fitting for the occasion."
"It's a splendid choice," Dennise chimed in. Her sapphire blue coat features a buttoned waist, long sleeves finished with four buttons, a peak lapel collar neckline, a welt side pocket and a pleated knee-length skirt. On her feet was this pair of pumps in blue suede and on her head was this sumptuous hat made from the softest fur felt and features a large handmade rose and twisting vine. "You have quite the eye for fashion, Silver."
"Thank you, Dennise. The Princesses do give me a lot of fashion advice and tips during my princess training on what to wear and what not to wear," Silver said, with a bit of chuckling at the end.
"I think the brown looks lovely on you." Beatrice added, she wore this stunning medium dark shade of green-cyan coat dress that had a high velvet classic collar. The bodice of the dress was fitted with four buttons on the bodice while a belt cinched in her waist. The rest of the dress flowed out into a mid-length pleated A-line skirt. Sat on her head was this 1940s inspired hat, featuring a flattering up-turned angled brim. A pair of two inch ballet slipper-style heels in creamy color. "Especially that pin of your, so nice!"
Little Henrietta nodded as she looked adorable in this cute French fuchsia color double-breasted coat in wool blend fabric and featured brass-tone buttons. The collar is trimmed with light velvet. A pair of white leggings and a leather strap black Mary-Jane slipper, and light pink mittens on her hands. There is also a cute small pillbox trimmed at the back with a vine of stunning leather roses, creating an intricate silhouette from the front and the back.
While the children chat away, Duchess Vivian enters the foyer. Her blazer jacket is in this brocade lime green sequin fabric, adorned in black floral lace. It is closed with four gold buttons. The ruffled peplum is edged with gold-tone zipper teeth and there is a pencil skirt made of a thin black silk fabric fully lined with white poly lining and held up with a light brown leather belt. Her gloves are made of shiny black lycra and the scarf was also made with the same fabric as the pencil skirt. Her broach and earrings were made in stainless steel gold charms and earring pieces and decorated with swarovski crystals. Her hair is tied in a high bun with a left side swept bang with curl end, her hat is made of two layers of silk satin organza and decorated with heat transfer flocked vinyl. The fake birds and real feathers were used to decorate the hat.
"Good morning, Your Grace," Silver said with a courteous nod as he greeted the Duchess with a kind smile.
Duchess Vivian responded with a curt nod, barely acknowledging his presence. "Yes. Good morning," she replied, so cold and distant.
Cora, sensing the awkwardness in the room, tried to ease the situation. "Mother, we were just admiring Silver's outfit he is wearing today. Doesn't he look fantastic in brown?"
Duchess Vivian glanced at Silver's attire briefly, her expression unreadable. "Mmmm, it's... suitable," she said, lacking enthusiasm. "Well, it's quite fitting for you, I suppose. After all, it matches the color of the mud you seem to enjoy rolling around in with your pretty little animal friends." She laughed.
Silver felt a pang of hurt at the remark, but he tried not to let it show. He maintained his composure and didn't want to let her get to him. "Thank you, Your Grace," Silver replied calmly, brushing off the dig. "I find the brown hue to be quite versatile and practical for various occasions."
The daughters exchanged glances, sensing the tension between Silver and their mother. They decided to redirect the conversation to the upcoming fitting.
"We should get going for the fitting," Beatrice suggested, trying to change the topic. "I'm eager to see how our dresses will turn out."
"Yes, let's not keep the dressmaker waiting," Cora added, ushering everyone toward the door.
While everyone waited for the vehicle to arrive, Duchess Vivian noticed that her daughters weren't dressed in their usual dark jewel-toned outfits. Instead, they wore more vibrant and bright colors, much like Silver's ensemble earlier before. She raised an eyebrow but decided not to comment on their choice of clothing.
Upon arriving at the dressmaker's building, a quaint shop nestled in one of London's charming streets, the Draventon family and Silver were greeted by Mrs. Beatrice Aldridge, the dressmaker in charge. She was a woman in her early 60s, with a warm smile and a keen eye for fashion. Her short silver hair was styled elegantly, and she wore a tailored black dress adorned with delicate floral embroidery, showcasing her love for exquisite design.
Mrs. Rosebette Aldridge walked up and greeted them warmly. "Good morning, Your Grace, and welcome to you too ladies. I trust you're all excited for the final fitting. The dresses are all prepared and ready for you to try on," she said with a smile.
Duchess Vivian nodded. "I trust you that everything is all set up for my daughter's final setting in the dressing room," she replied briskly.
Once they all headed to the fitting rooms upstairs, Mrs. Aldridge noticed Silver who followed them from behind and assumed he was also here for a fitting. She smiled and approached him. "Oh, excuse me, I don't recall meeting you before, young lady. Are you here for your fitting as well?" she asked.
Duchess Vivian, however, corrected her, "No, Mrs. Aldridge, Silver is not here for a fitting. HE is simply accompanying us for today."
Silver smiled at Mrs. Aldridge, not wanting to cause any further confusion. "Yes, I'm just here to support the Draventon family," he clarified politely.
Mrs. Aldridge blinked for a moment before she blushed and realized her error and gender mistake. "Oh! Pardon me, young man!" She apologized. "I thought you were a young lady since you look like… well, a girl." Her eyes went up and down at Silver's attire.
Silver chuckled. "It's quite alright," he accepted her apology, "you weren't the only one who misgender me before."
Upstairs above the shop, the fitting began, the Draventon daughters were led to their respective dressing rooms to try on their beautiful ball gowns. Mrs. Aldridge has her team attend to the girls, and Silver decides to wait in the sitting area but decides to explore the room to kill the time. The room is filled with sketches, sewing machines, needles, fabrics, and many others and he couldn't help but admire the exquisite designs on the sketches and old Victorian fashion plates that were pinned on the bulletin boards, imagining how beautiful the gowns would look once completed. The sage green silk fabric that was laying down on the table caught his eye, and he gently ran his fingers over its smooth texture, admiring the elegant design.
His mind couldn't help but drift to thoughts of the upcoming Victorian ball. He envisioned the grandeur and elegance that would fill the garden of the Draventon estate on that enchanting evening. The thought of the ball ignited a spark of excitement in his heart, yet he couldn't shake the small pang of disappointment that he wouldn't be able to wear a gown for the event.
In the midst of his musings, Mrs. Aldridge noticed him admiring the sage green silk fabric. She approached him with a kind smile, wanting to make sure he felt welcome despite not having a fitting of his own.
"Isn't the fabric simply divine?" Mrs. Aldridge said, picking up on his admiration. "I'm currently working on a gown for one of the guests attending the ball. The shade of green is so elegant and fits perfectly with the design I have in mind."
Silver nodded. "It truly is exquisite," he replied, continuing to run his fingers over the smooth silk. "Your work is impeccable, Mrs. Aldridge. I can only imagine how stunning the gown will look once it's completed."
"Thank you, my dear," Mrs. Aldridge said warmly. "I take great pride in my creations, and it brings me joy to see my clients happy in the dresses I design for them."
As they continued to chat, Mrs. Aldridge picked up on Silver's wistful expression. She noticed his eyes linger on some of the gown sketches.
"Silver, my dear," she said gently, "may I ask you something personal? You seem to have a keen interest in the gowns and my designs."
Silver hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should reveal his true feelings. However, he trusted Mrs. Aldridge's warm demeanor and decided to open up to her.
"Well, to be honest, Mrs. Aldridge," he began, "I do wish to wear a gown for the ball. I have been known for wearing such elegant attire back home. But I fear it might not be well-received in the aristocratic circle, especially since I'm not part of the noble class nor my family are nobility with rich titles and land they own."
Mrs. Aldridge smiled kindly, understanding the weight of his words. "You have a love for fashion and a heart for beauty," she said, "and those are qualities that should be celebrated, my dear. While societal norms and expectations might dictate certain dress codes, true elegance lies in embracing who you are and expressing yourself authentically."
Silver looked at Mrs. Aldridge, grateful for her understanding. "Thank you," he said softly. "It's just... I don't want to draw attention to myself or cause any discomfort for the Draventon family. They have been nothing but kind to me during my week holiday with them, and I don't want to be a burden or cause any trouble at the ball."
Meanwhile, in one of the fitting rooms, the Draventon daughters were trying on their gowns with the assistants of the staff. Once fully dressed, each of the daughters emerged from their fitting room one by one, and gasped when they took a look at the full length huge mirror.
Dennise is dressed in this light blue satin 1840s gown with an off the shoulder neckline and short sleeves. Two white lace tiers edge the neckline, with a corsage of white flowers at the center. The dress has a decollete neck and a pointed waist. Four tiers of white lace edged with ruching decorate the front of the skirt.
Beatrice walked out in this off the shoulder emerald 1850s dress and short sleeved. The bodice has a pointed waist, and has draped and puffed material at the shoulder and across the bodice. There is white lace edging the collar. Her skirt hem has white lace, edged with artificial leaves.
Cora's 1860s dress is gold color and off the shoulder with a white lace collar and short sleeves, and a white lace top tier on her skirt. She wears a corsage on her bodice. A garland of flowers continues to scoop the sides of her over skirt white lace.
And Henrietta wears this baby pink 1870s dress with a skirt of four tiers reaching just below her knees. The bodice is trimmed with high lace and features a wide hot pink ribbon above it, with tufts of apple leaves thrown over it. The bodice is low-cut, and the basques are large shells in hot pink ribbon with branches of apple blossoms. The same flowers are also present on the shoulders. Her underdress in soft pink faye, a petticoat in white muslin, and a court coat in the same muslin material. The petticoat is adorned with a pleated flounce in the front and three large swirls arranged above the flounce, with a garland of apple leaves separating them up to the waist.
Once the daughters are lined up in the straight line so that their mother could analyze the gown and what needs to be added onto their gown.
"Henrietta, make sure you don't get any stains on your dress," she said sternly to her youngest daughter. "I don't want any mishaps during the ball."
Henrietta nodded obediently, promising to be careful.
"Dennise, stand up straight and remember to speak with proper etiquette," the Duchess instructed her first eldest daughter.
Dennise straightened her posture and nodded, showing her understanding. "Of course Mother."
"Beatrice, your dress looks a bit wrinkled," Duchess Vivian commented, her tone disapproving.
"I apologize, Mother. I'll make sure the maid will properly press before the ball," Beatrice replied, trying not to show her disappointment.
Cora tried to ease the tension. "Mother, the dresses are truly stunning, and Mrs. Aldridge and her team have done a marvelous job. I'm sure we'll all be the belle of the ball."
Duchess Vivian looked at Cora and nodded. "And you fourth will be, the dresses are satisfactory," she said, her expression softening slightly. "You all look presentable enough. I want all of you girls to look absolutely stunning at the ball and to make other ladies feel envious when they see your gowns!"
The girls exchanged glances, knowing that their mother's approval was no easy feat to achieve. They were used to her high standards and strict expectations.
The Draventon daughters gathered in their stunning gowns, they admired each other's looks and eagerly awaited Silver's opinion on their attire. Duchess Vivian seemed occupied with her own thoughts, giving her daughters a chance to interact with their guest.
Henrietta, couldn't contain her excitement, turned to Silver with wide eyes and asked, "Do you like our dresses, Silver?"
Silver smiled warmly at Henrietta's enthusiasm. "Oh, they are absolutely beautiful," he said sincerely. "Each gown complements your personality wonderfully, and I must say, you all look like princesses ready for the grandest ball in the kingdom."
The girls giggled with delight at the compliment, and Dennise inquired, "Which one do you like the most, Silver?"
Silver paused for a moment, carefully choosing his words. "It's difficult to pick a favorite because you all look stunning in your own unique ways," he replied diplomatically. "Dennise, the light blue satin complements your elegance and poise. Beatrice, the emerald gown beautifully accentuates your grace and charm. Cora, the gold dress matches your warmth and radiance. And Henrietta, the baby pink dress perfectly captures your sweet and endearing nature."
The girls blushed at the praise, pleased with Silver's thoughtful response. Cora then turned the attention back to Silver. "Silver, may I ask, would you like to try on a gown?" Cora asked gently.
"Oh, no, I… I couldn't," Silver replied, blushing slightly. "I appreciate the offer, but I'm just here to support you all girls."
"Nonsense!" She shook her head. "You are our guest, and we want you to feel included in the experience. Besides, We all has seen you wearing an gown at our family 270th anniversary ball. I know you'll look absolutely gorgeous."
Duchess Vivian raised an eyebrow at Cora's suggestion, but before she could say anything, Cora continued as she face toward their mother. "Oh Mother, can Silver try on the dress?" She asked. "Silver is our guest after all, and it would be a delight to see him in one of Mrs. Aldridge's beautiful creations."
Duchess Vivian hesitated for a moment, clearly torn between her desire to refuse Cora's request and not wanting to upset her daughter further. Finally, she relented with a resigned sigh. "Very well then. If that's what you all want," she said, trying to hide her displeasure.
Mrs. Aldridge, who had been observing the exchange, smiled warmly. "I have just the gown in mind for you, Silver," she said, stepping away to retrieve a particular dress.
She returned with a stunning pink gown in hand that would undoubtedly accentuate Silver's figure and grace.
"Try this on, my dear," Mrs. Aldridge said, handing the gown to Silver with a smile.
Silver hesitated for a moment. But he trusted Mrs. Aldridge's expertise and decided to embrace the opportunity to experience something new. "Alright, I'll give it a try," he said, exciting to tried it on.
As he slipped into the gown, assisted by Mrs. Aldridge, he couldn't help but feel a surge of elegance and beauty. The gown fit him perfectly, hugging his figure in all the right places and making him feel like he belonged in a fairy tale.
When he stepped out of the dressing room, the Draventon mother and daughters gasped in delight.
This 1840s soft pink floor-length dress is made of silk. The lace-up bodice features an off-the-shoulder neckline with thin purple band, short puff sleeves, white floral lace ruffle around the neckline with the small bow in the center of the band. A purple sash tied around his waist with a small bow in the back. A soft pink overskirt in the form of a bell silhouette with pleats gathered at the waist is scooped up with two large purple bows and trimmed purple sash around the edge of the overskirt and the wide band of white ruffles at the hem.
"Oh, Silver, you look absolutely enchanting!" Cora exclaimed.
Dennise and Beatrice nodded in agreement, their faces glowing with admiration.
Little Henrietta clapped her hands with excitement. "You look like a princess!" she proclaimed.
Even Duchess Vivian couldn't deny the impact of the gown on Silver. Though she tried to maintain her composure, a hint of surprise flickered in her eyes.
Silver blushed at the praise, feeling a mix of vulnerability and pride in his heart. "Thank you, everyone," he said, a bit shyly. "I never thought I'd have the chance to wear something like this."
Mrs. Aldridge smiled at him warmly. "You wear it well, my dear. The gown seems like it was made for you," she complimented him.
Duchess Vivian, still somewhat disapproving, managed to muster a small compliment. "Yes, it does suit you," she conceded.
The Draventon daughters continued to admire Silver in the stunning pink gown, Dennise turned to her mother with a hopeful expression. "Mother, would it be possible for Silver to wear a gown at our ball? Just this once?" she asked, her eyes pleading.
Duchess Vivian's expression tightened at the request. She had already expressed her disapproval of Silver wearing a gown, and the thought of him wearing an dress at the ball made her uneasy. However, she also didn't want to spoil her daughters' excitement and joy.
"My dears, I understand that you all have grown fond of Silver during his time with us, but we must consider the opinions of our esteemed guests," Duchess Vivian replied, her tone firm. "While he looks lovely in the gown, it would be highly unconventional for a young man to wear such attire to a Victorian ball. We mustn't invite unnecessary cruel attention or hurtful gossip around him now do we?"
Cora didn't give up easily, her determination evident in her eyes. "But Mother, we can explain to our guests that it's just for fun and in celebration of the beautiful gowns Mrs. Aldridge has crafted for us. We can assure them that it's merely a playful gesture, and I'm certain they would understand."
Beatrice chimed in, "Yes, Mother, it would be a lovely and unique addition to the ball. It might even add a touch of whimsy and excitement."
Little Henrietta tugged at her mother's arm gently. "Please, Mother, Silver would look so pretty in a gown. It's just for fun!"
"Mother, I know it might seem unconventional, but think about it. The ball is all about celebrating elegance and beauty. And Silver is undoubtedly one of the most elegant and beautiful person we know." Cora added.
Dennise chimed in, supporting her sister's argument. "Yes, Mother, think about how the guests would react. They wouldn't even notice that this 'young lady' is actually a male. Silver's figure and grace are just perfect for a gown. Just like how Silver has fool us all at the 270th Anniversary Ball."
Beatrice added with a playful grin, "And have you seen his face, Mother?" Beatrice reached over and gave Silver's cheek a gentle squeeze, much to Silver's surprise. "It's so feminine, delicate and angelic. Just look at his face! Look at it!"
Silver blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed but also amused by the situation. He chuckled softly. "Well, I must admit, I never would have thought that my cheeks squeezed would be part of this discussion."
The Draventon daughters giggled at Silver's response, happy to lighten the mood.
Duchess Vivian, however, was not easily swayed by her daughters' arguments. She sighed, her expression conflicted. "Girls, I understand your enthusiasm, but we must consider the implications. Even if Silver could be mistaken as a young lady, there would be a scandal if anyone found out about his true identity."
Dennise spoke up, her voice earnest. "Mother, I respect your concerns, but the ball is an opportunity to celebrate authenticity and uniqueness. Silver is an exceptional person, and he should be able to express himself as he truly is."
Cora nodded in agreement. "Besides, the guests are too busy to enjoy themselves. I highly doubt anyone would be preoccupied with Silver's attire."
Henrietta, who had been listening attentively, added with a nod, "Yes, Mother, that would be fun!"
Duchess Vivian hesitated, clearly torn between her desire to uphold societal norms and her daughters' heartfelt pleas. She glanced at Silver, and for a brief moment, a flicker of empathy crossed her eyes.
"I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful," she finally said, her voice softening, "but I'm also trying to protect Silver's image, especially in the eyes of the important nobility. We're honored to have him as our guest, and I wouldn't want anything to jeopardize his standing or our reputation."
Cora and her sisters exchanged glances, understanding their mother's concerns but still determined to advocate for Silver's wishes.
Dennise spoke up with a touch of defiance. "Mother, we understand your perspective, but let's also consider the happiness of our guest. If Silver wishes to wear a gown, why not let him? It's a chance to make him feel truly included in our family and the festivities."
Beatrice chimed in with a smile. "And who knows, Mother? Silver might even outshine all of us with his beauty, and wouldn't that be an amusing twist?"
Silver chuckled at Beatrice's playful comment.
"Enough, girls," Duchess Vivian said firmly, her tone final. The Duchess couldn't bear the thought of Silver potentially overshadowing her and her daughters in terms of appearance or charm, and stealing all the attention from the guests. She won't let that fear into an reality. "I've made my decision. Silver will attend the ball in a suit, as is customary for a young man." She stated. "And that is final. End of this discussion."
Cora and her sisters exchanged disappointed glances, their shoulders sagging slightly. It was clear that they were disappointed by their mother's decision, but they also understood that she had her reasons.
Dennise nodded, understanding but yet disappointment. "Very well, Mother." She sighed. "We respect your decision."
Beatrice managed a small smile. "Alright, Mother, we won't push any further. But we can't say we didn't try."
Henrietta pouted for a moment before sighing in resignation. "Okay, Mother. But can we at least make Silver feel special in some other way during the ball?"
Duchess Vivian softened, noticing her daughters' genuine concern for Silver. She reached out and gently touched Henrietta's cheek. "Of course, my dear. We'll make sure that Silver feels special and included, even if he's not wearing a gown."
Silver stepped forward. "Thank you, Your Grace. I appreciate your understanding, even if I won't be wearing a gown."
Duchess Vivian nodded, her gaze meeting Silver's. "You're welcome, Silver. We value your presence and want you to have a wonderful experience at the ball."
And so, the final fitting session for their gowns has now concluded, and as promised to Duchess Vivian, the gowns will be delivered to the Draventon Estate tomorrow morning. With the fitting process complete, the daughters can look forward to wearing their beautiful gowns to the upcoming Victorian ball.
Meanwhile, Silver is also excited about the ball, even though he knows he won't be allowed to wear a dress as he would have to wear a handsome black suit just like the rest of the gentlemen. Regardless of his outfit choice, he is eager to attend the ball and immerse himself in the grandeur and elegance of the event. It's going to be a night to remember, and he can't wait to be a part of it.
And so, throughout the day, Silver had the pleasure of spending the day with the Draventon family, working together to prepare for the much-anticipated Victorian ball. He lent a helping hand in a variety of tasks, including selecting the perfect floral arrangements to adorn the venue, decorating the garden to create an historical atmosphere, and collaborating with the family to plan the menu for the grand dinner.
Even though Silver couldn't wear a dress to the ball, he cherished the moments he shared with the Draventons, relishing their camaraderie throughout the day. As the preparations for the ball drew to a close, Silver couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and hype building within him, as he eagerly anticipated the magical evening ahead. The thought of everyone being together in their finest Victorian attire, enjoying the music played by orchestra, dancing in the arms of their partner, and eating the finest food that was cool by their chefs. He knew it was going to be a night to remember.
Friday
On a bright Friday day, the estate was bustling with activity as the Draventon household prepared for the highly anticipated Victorian Ball tomorrow. Silver, however, found himself with some free time as the Draventon family and servants were occupied with various tasks related to the event. In the midst of the commotion, he decided to take a stroll through the well-manicured gardens that surrounded the estate.
He wore this white blouse shirt in a printed yellow and pink floral featuring a Peter Pan collar, three button placket, gently dropped shoulders, and long sleeves in which he turned into a roll up sleeves. There is ribbing at the collar and cuffs to provide a snug fit. On top of his shirt was this pale yellow-hued sleeveless overalls made of stretchy cotton. They're finished with a square neckline, adjustable shoulder buckle straps, a waistline with side buttons, a sporty racerback design, and functional pockets on the front and back. Lastly, there is a pair of hype pink converse sneakers on his feet and his golden heart-shape lock around his neck.
He strolled along a cobblestone path of the garden, just then, Silver spotted Max, the imposing Rottweiler, lounging under the shade of a sprawling oak tree. Max's frame and vigilant gaze were softened by the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves.
Silver approached Max with a warm smile, kneeling down to his level. "Hello, Max," he greeted, his voice gentle.
Max turned his head slightly, his ears perked up in recognition. "Well, well, if it isn't our guest in the flowery getup," Max replied with a playful hint in his voice, his tail thumping softly against the ground.
Silver chuckled. "You have quite the sense of humor, Max. I thought I'd spend some time with you while the others are busy with the ball preparations."
Max shifted his weight, settling more comfortably on the grass. "A wise choice. I might not show it, but I appreciate some good company."
Silver reached out to scratch behind Max's ears, earning a contented rumble from the canine. "You know, Max, spending time with you feels different. I can actually understand you when you speak."
Max's gaze met Silver's, his brown eyes intense and contemplative. "Yes, you're a rare one. Not many can hear the thoughts of creatures like me."
"It's a gift I cherish," Silver admitted. "I've always felt a deep connection with animals. It's as if we share a silent language, even when people in the real world would find it very odd and strange."
Max's gaze softened, his posture relaxing just a bit. "You have a way with words, Silver."
Silver chuckled. "Well, I try my best. And you, Max, have a way of being a gentle giant, even though you try to put on a tough front."
Max's ears twitched, his version of a doggy shrug. "I have a reputation to uphold, you know."
Silver patted Max's massive head affectionately. "Of course, you do. But I've seen you around the family, being their protector and playmate to Henrietta and George."
Max's eyes seemed to be shamefaced pride. "The little ones have a way of bringing out my softer side."
Silver grinned. "That they do. They see the heart beneath the tough exterior."
Max let out a huff, his tough exterior softening. "Well, don't spread that around. I have a reputation to maintain, you know."
Silver chuckled again, his fingers tracing patterns in Max's fur. "Your secret is safe with me, Max."
Max lowered his head onto his paws, his expression more relaxed. "So, what brings you here, aside from the chaos inside the house?"
Silver leaned back, gazing up at the sky through the canopy of leaves. "Well, I suppose I needed a moment of calmness. The preparations for the ball can be a bit overwhelming."
"Ah, the grand affair," Max mused, his tone sounding a bit gruff yet somehow amiable. "The preparations for the ball seem to be consuming the entire household."
Silver nodded in understanding. "Yeah, everyone is quite busy right now. But sometimes, it's nice to take a break and appreciate the simple things."
Max's tail thumped lightly against the ground, almost in agreement. "I suppose you're right. The humans often rush about with their tasks, forgetting the beauty around them."
Silver's smile widened, nodded in agreement with Max. "You have a point, Max. But I wish I could wear the gown for the ball, but Duchess Vivian has her reasons so might as well wear a suit for tonight tomorrow."
Max let out a low growl, his eyes narrowing. "She's a tough nut to crack, that one. But I've seen a bit of her softer side. She's just... well, complicated if I may say."
"Complicated is one way to put it," Silver agreed, a thoughtful expression crossing his features.
Max's gaze softened as he looked at Silver. "You're good for the Draventon, you know. You bring something different into their lives."
Silver smiled, a warm glint in his eyes. "I care about them deeply. They have been nothing but kind to me since my arrival."
"And you, Silver," Max began, his voice quieter, "you're like family to all of us, too."
Silver's heart swelled with emotion, touched by Max's words. "Thank you, Max. That means a lot to me."
The sun continued its journey across the sky, casting over the garden where Silver and Max sat together. As Silver scratched Max's ears, the large Rottweiler seemed to bask in the attention, his tough exterior giving way to a sense of contentment.
After a moment of comfortable silence, Max began speaking to him once again. "So, Silver, tell me about Buster. How's he doing?" He is inquisitive to know what Buster is up to. "Last time I saw him was at a dinner event."
Silver's smile widened at the question. "Oh Buster is doing great, Max. Ever since he was a puppy, he has had this endearing personality. He's quite the opposite of you, actually. While you're the strong and stoic guardian here, Buster is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm."
Max's lips curled into something resembling a canine smile. "Ah, so you have a cheerful troublemaker waiting for you back home."
Silver chuckled. "You could say that. He's always excited to greet my family and I when we come home, and he's got this way of looking at me with those big, soulful eyes as if we're the most important thing in the world."
"Sounds like quite the charmer," Max remarked, his tone carrying a hint of amusement.
"Oh, he definitely is," Silver agreed. "He's got a mischievous streak too. I remember one time he managed to find his way into my mom's rose bushes. Let's just say the backyard was a bit of a mess with a lot of dirt, and he had a very satisfied look on his face while covered in dirt."
Max let out a deep chuckle, his tail thumping against the ground. "Ah, the joys of a dog's life. Buster seems to be living it to the fullest. Do send my regards to him and tell him that I said "Hello" once you arrive back home from your weekly trip."
Silver par his head. "I will make sure that Buster receives your word."
Max's gaze shifted towards the estate's entrance. "Looks like you have a visitor," he noted, his voice low.
Silver turned his head, following Max's gaze. Walking towards them was none other than Anthony, dressed in his burgundy coat with a confident stride. His presence seemed to brighten up the garden even more, and Silver's heart skipped a beat at the sight of his boyfriend.
"Anthony…" Silver whispered softly.
A playful smirk began to appear on his face. "Miss me?" Anthony quipped, his eyes dancing with amusement.
Without hesitation, he dashed over to Anthony, Silver reached Anthony in a few quick strides. With a flourish of strength and grace, he lifted Silver off the ground, twirling him around in a circle. Silver's laughter filled the garden as he enjoyed the exhilarating spin.
"Whoa, steady there, Prince Charming!" Silver teased between laughter.
Anthony chuckled, slowing the spin before gently setting Silver back on the ground, their eyes met with affectionate intensity. Silver's cheeks were flushed with excitement, and Anthony's smile softened into something more tender.
"I must admit, I'm glad to see you," Anthony said warmly.
Silver grinned, his heart fluttering. "I missed you more than I can say. But I certainly didn't expect to see you here today."
Anthony's smirk turned into a warm smile as he closed the distance between them. "The Prince decided to grant me an early leave. I couldn't stand being away from you for too long, especially with the ball approaching." He leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on Silver's forehead. "I've been looking forward to spending some time with you," he admitted.
Silver's golden heart-shaped lock swung gently as he nodded. "Me too, but it seems like the estate is a whirlwind of preparations."
Anthony glanced around, his eyes taking in the bustling scene. "Yes, the Victorian Ball is quite the event. But how about we escape the chaos for a while?"
Silver's eyes lit up with excitement. "Escape? Where are we going?"
Anthony winked playfully. "How about a stroll in my secret garden? It's a peaceful place, perfect for some quiet moments."
Silver's smile grew wider, his hand slipping into Anthony's. "Lead the way."
Soon, they began to walk away from the hustle and bustle of the preparations, Silver couldn't help but steal a glance back at Max, who was now watching them with a knowing look in his eyes.
"Ah, young love," Max's voice echoed in Silver's mind, the Rottweiler's tone more knowing than ever. "I can always count on you to bring some warmth to this estate," Max replied, surprisingly heartfelt. "And I can always count on you bringing happiness to Anthony's life."
Silver's cheeks tinted pink, and he couldn't help but send a mental chuckle towards Max.
And so, Silver looped his arms around Anthony's right arm as the red headed young man led him to the secret garden that was hidden away in the estate's garden from anyone except the two. The couple ventured far away from any hustle or bustle that could disturb their privacy. They had chosen this secluded spot to enjoy each other's company without any interruptions. The garden was a beautiful and serene place, filled with vibrant flowers and a peaceful atmosphere. The couple strolled along the winding path, admiring the beauty of their surroundings. As they reached their destination, they settled down on a bench, looking out at the scenic view in front of them.
The secret garden was the perfect place for them to spend some quality time together, away from the chaos of the outside world.
I wanted to avoid splitting it into two parts so I chose to maintain the entirety of this scene as a single cohesive chapter. This decision was influenced by my meticulous planning of Chapters 29 and 30, the desire to uphold the story's fluidity and the seamless progression of the characters' interactions.
This story takes us deeper into the lives of the characters within the Draventon estate. Commencing on Monday, the chapter follows Silver's journey, from sharing breakfast with the family to embarking on a delightful tour around London and enjoying a serene afternoon picnic in the picturesque English countryside. As the week unfolds, we are privy to Silver's meaningful interactions with various members of the family, each family member going out of their way to ensure Silver feels comfortable and valued within their midst as their guest for a week in this week-long holiday in the United Kingdom, with the exception of Duchess Vivian who remains an unkind woman to this growing sense of camaraderie.
Through the week holiday arc of this story, we witness Silver's unique ability to communicate with animals, forming a deep bond with Max, the imposing yet gentle Rottweiler who guards the estate. Amidst the preparations for the highly anticipated Victorian Ball, Silver's relationship with the family further develops, and his connection with Anthony, his boyfriend, blossoms beautifully. The week culminates in a serene moment of escape, as Silver and Anthony find solace in a secret garden, reinforcing their affection for one another.
Next Chapter: A Victorian-theme costume Ball is being held at the Draventon Estate garden.
