"Telepathy"
As the Alliance army made its way through Unova. John and Ash kept things civil in front of the men and spies in the Alliance army. The Unovan Resistance and Alliance Army were able to liberate all of Unova. Soon it came time to resupply the Alliance army and let the men relax as the Alliance Navy protected Unova's Sea entrances and Alliance Jets Patrolled the Skies. Ash looked around when a woman who he thought was a traitor and he said, "What do you want Zoey?" the woman crossed her arms and said, "THat's a little harsh to hear from you Ash. But it's understandable."
"Aren't you with those traitors?" Ash asked her. Zoey sighed and said, "I was, but when they formed the Comet Empire, I knew I couldn't stand with them anymore so I helped form the Sinnoh Resistance… I remember it all too well." As she thought back to empire Day. She was shocked to see her friend and rival Dawn standing on the podium being called the new leader of Sinnoh. Cynthia and Zoey were shocked and Zoey called up Dawn. When Dawn answered, she said, "Commander Dwarf Star speaking."
"Dawn?! What the hell?! Forming an Empire?!" Zoey asked in anger. Dawn simply said, "Yeah, it's to combat Ash." Zoey was shocked to hear what she said. Zoey then said, "But a whole Empire?! I thought you were trying to get him arrested. He's a champion!" Dawn chuckled and said, "He's impossible to catch now. So the destruction of the whole Region he's in is the perfect plan." Zoey was even more shocked before she hung up the phone and threw it down. Zoey ran out and saw half of the Gym Leaders bow to the Comet Empire flag. She was furious at what she saw and realized that they made Ash out to be the main bad guy when they were the true bad guys, and she helped them out.
Back in the present, Zoey knelt down on one knee and said, "Which is why I want to make it up to you Ash, let me help you free sinnoh." Ash sighed and said, "Sure, I'm going to put you under John's Command. Who are the gym leaders who signed up for the Comet Empire?" Zoey stood up and said, "Gardenia, Maylene, Crasher Wake, and Byron. The others choose not to join." Ash smiled as he knew that at least some of the Sinnoh Gym Leaders had common sense. He then said, "Thank you Zoey, now go see John and tell him what I said." Zoey nodded her head and walked off. Ash sat down as May joined him. When Ash saw her, he stood up and said, "May!"
"Hey Ash." May said before she kissed her husband. Ash smiled as Aubrey hopped onto Ash's Back and said, "DADDY!" Ash laughed and spun her around and held his daughter. Ash asked what they were doing there and May said, "Shauna suggested we surprise you and John, was that Zoey we saw?" Ash nodded and told them what she wanted. May smiled as Aubrey said, "We got another ally for daddy!" Ash smiled and said, "You're right Aubrey, we got another ally." Aubrey smiled as May giggled as Collin joined his family. Ash smiled and hugged his son as May took their daughter. The Ketchum family then walked to a Pokémon Center and got some food to relax for a bit in the time of war.
Ash smiled as he enjoyed time with his family. It was a distraction from the war, one he needed badly. Aubrey sat on her daddy's lap as she ate her burger and Collin sat next to his mom. May smiled at her husband and the family were all happy and enjoying their company. That was when John and Shauna came in with a grim look on John's face. John whispered into Ash's ear, "Paul and Serena have been made." Ash looked at him and said, "Are you sure?" John nodded his head and showed him a video Tracy sent him of him of Paul and Serena being executed in front of a firing squad. John then said, "One of the Comet Empire Soldiers overheard them talking about helping us." Ash was heartbroken, he still cared for Serena, but not even he wanted her dead. What was worse was that he had to tell Grace." John nodded his head in agreement as May held Shauna's hand. John then said, "Maybe this can work in our favor too. Get Clemont to switch sides." Ash looked at John and said, "No… Not happening John. No way." John tried to defend his idea by saying, "He had sex with her Ash. A Heart hurt in Betrayal is a powerful tool."
"No… No. no NO! We are not having him JOIN US! HE MIGHT TRY TO REJOIN THE COMET EMPIRE!" Ash shouted as he stood up and made sure Aubrey wasn't hurt. John then said, "But Clemont knows the Comet Empire tactics! If he joins us we may have a REAL Chance on pushing back harder!" Then Ash said in telepathy, "ABSOLUTELY NOT! WE ARE NOT GOING TO BONNIE'S TRAITOR OF A BROTHER TO ASK HIM TO JOIN US ALL BECAUSE SERENA WAS KILLED BY THE COMET EMPIRE! AN EMPIRE HE FOUNDED!"
"Serena's dead?" Said Bonnie's voice. Ash realized he didn't make the conversation private and cursed in his mind before saying to her, "Yeah, Serena was made and killed… alongside Paul." Bonnie went quiet for a few moments before saying, "She may have been a traitor, but she was still carrying my niece. We forgave her and she helped us free Kalos… how did she die?" John told her and she replied, "Bastard didn't have the balls to do it himself" That was when John and Ash looked at each other before John said, "He still has a right to know." Ash grumbled and said, "Fine. Bonnie go and get your brother. He needs to see this"
Later, Bonnie brought Clemont to Unova and in front of Ash and John. Ash thanked Bonnie and showed him the video. At first Clemont didn't believe Tracy would order a firing squad for Serena even if she betrayed them. But the more he watched, the more he felt his hatred for Tracy growl. It grew, and grew before turning into sadness and he screamed in pain at the loss of Serena. Ash stood up and said, "Grace is devastated too. John wanted you to see that the Comet Empire is not what it claims to be. He thinks you'd want to join us to take Tracy down and…"
"He's right." Clemont said as tears stained his dirty cheeks. Clemont looked at Ash and said, "I wanna join and kill Tracy myself." Ash looked at him and said, "You realize that once we win this war, you will be put on trial right?" Clemont nodded his head before he said, "I thought trying to make you quit was the right thing to do… but I was wrong. I was so stupid to think that Tracy was right. I'm sorry Ash. I really am." Ash knew Clemont was being sincere so he sighed and said, "You're forgiven Clemont. But I am going to tell the army about you and what will happen, ok?" Clemont nodded his head in agreement.
Later on, Ash told his army about Clemont and what would happen after the war comes to an end. The men were having mixed feelings. The first to react was John and he walked up to Clemont before landing a punch on him. Clemont rubbed his jaw as Ash was worried about John, but Clemont said, "I totally deserved that." John nodded his head and said, "Yeah… you did." He then looked at the crowd and said, "Anyone who hurts this man will answer to me or Ash!" The men soon quickly stopped talking as they had the utmost respect for Ash and John. Clemont smiled softly and thanked John, but John said, "I'm doing this to keep the alliance together Clemont, not for you. Besides, Ash was against having you join us from the start."
Later, Ash watched the men load back onto the ships as they prepared to head to sinnoh. All the while he thought about how things were before the betrayal. He had his friends, he had their trust. All of that was wiped when they betrayed him. Those who stayed with him were his inner circle and he trusted them the most. Soon it came time to leave and John got Ash out of his thoughts and onto the ship. They were ready to take on the Comet Empire in Sinnoh.
