I actually like writing this more than I thought I would? It's a refreshing change from Project Jewell, which you guys should read if you have the time. I like this, I think, because I don't have as much existing story to work with. But, all in all, I also just like this because I wanted Biana to be lesbian sooo badly! :) Also, I apologise for Fitz's behaviour.
Thoughts of You'Well, what happened?' Elwin asked, staring at Keefe and Biana as they collapsed dramatically onto two cots. 'I'm assuming you told Keefe, since he's here?'
'I did,' she tells them, laughing.
'I'm gayer than she is,' adds the empath.
'Oh. Wow!'
'I know, right?' the Vacker asks, grinning. 'Not as alone as I thought.'
'What's so funny?'
'My h*mophobic brother.'
'Wait, what!' Elwin looks shocked, but that just makes her laugh harder.
'Yep!'
'That shouldn't be something you laugh at, shouldn't it?'
Keefe shrugs. 'He's the only one who feels that way, and what happened is kinda hilarious.'
'Well, what happened?'
'I told my family, right, and Fitz started yelling at me. I don't know what my parents thought, because I actually haven't been home yet, but it doesn't really matter. I ended up going to talk to Keefe, and we both told each other, so we went to tell Sophie, and Fitz was there.'
'Oh?'
It hadn't been funny at the time, but now they can't stop laughing. When they'd arrived at Havenfield, Fitz had stood up and glared at his sister. 'Why are you here?' He turned to Keefe. 'And why are you with her?'
Keefe had snorted. 'If you won't accept your sister coming out of the closet, you sure as heck won't accept me.'
Sophie had looked between them, looking confused. 'What is going on?'
'You didn't tell her?' he'd asked Fitz.
'What's to tell? That my sister, and apparently my ex best friend, are-'
'Hold on! Ex best friend? Seriously Fitzy?'
'Yes! Seriously! You're both gay! I can't be around you two!'
'Wait, they're gay?' And Sophie had stood up too, running over and giving them both big hugs. 'I'm so glad you told me!'
'You- You- You like this for them?' Fitz had spluttered.
'What's to dislike?' she asked him tartly.
'Them! They're-'
'They're gay, yes, but that isn't a bad thing, Fitz.'
'Thanks Sophie,' Biana whispered, burying her head in the other girl's shoulder. Fitx glared, and she stuck out her tongue, squeezing the pretty telepath a little harder before letting go and glaring at her brother even harder than he'd glared at her. 'You need to stop it, right now. Please?'
'No. Come on Sophie, let's leave these two before they contaminate us-'
'No.'
'What?' Fitz turned on her, face contorted in anger, though he tried to soften it at her expression. 'Come on, you're my girlfriend. Can't I want to spend time with you without weirdos?'
'Who says I'm your girlfriend?'
'Wha-'
'I'm not.'
At the time, Biana had been annoyed, and mad, and scared, and sad at her brother's words, but now she was just laughing over Sophie's unceremonious breakup. She hadn't even seemed sad, just annoyed and disgusted by Fitz's obvious newfound hatred of them.
He'd left in a huff, and the two of them had shared their stories with Sophie, before coming to Foxfire to tell Elwin, and for Keefe to talk to them properly about their identity.
Now even Elwin's laughing, though they're covering their mouth with a hand, and better stopping the giggles from coming through. 'I'll admit, that's funny, though you need to talk to your brother. He sounds a little like you, before you admitted this to yourself.'
'I was never this bad.'
'Yes, but you wanted it to change.'
'Are you saying that Fitzy is a h*mophobic homosexual?' asks Keefe, and Biana giggles again. But inside she's debating Elwin's idea. Could Fitz be hiding whoever he really is too?
'Another thing,' he adds, moving over to Biana's seat and nudging her in the ribs. 'You hugged Foster for a little while longer than necessary.'
She turns bright red. 'I, uh, I, uh, I don't know what you're talking about.'
Both of the others laugh at that, and she rolls her eyes, hugging a pillow to her chest. But now she's thinking about that, and she doesn't know. She spent so long not acknowledging, or even suppressing, her truth, that she isn't sure what's real and what's fake. She'd had one or two 'crushes' on guys before, but they were just good friends who people expected her to like. She might have a crush on Sophie…
No. Sophie's her friend. Just because she feels this way doesn't mean she has to like one of her two best friends, does it? No. This doesn't mean anything, it just means she's confusing herself. Right?
'I think we broke Biana,' Elwin tells Keefe, and all three of them burst into giggles again, but Biana is still considering what they just said. She's just a friend. Right?
'I'm fine. Besides, if we talk about me, we have to talk about your crushes-'
'Nope! Never mind!'
'Hold on,' Elwin says suddenly. 'Where's Ro?'
Keefe's smile drops, and he mutters enough cuss words to get both the others giggling and covering their ears. He fumbles for his home crystal, and leaps away almost the second the light hits it.
'He's going to eat some bacteria, isn't he?' she asks.
'Probably, to be honest.'
We Have Something to Tell You'I hate you little Vacker girl!' shouts Ro as she and Keefe leap back to the healing centre. 'You may be adorable, but if you make my boy leave me at the Waves of WImpiness one more time, I swear- Oh. The physician's here too.'
'I am,' Elwin says, smiling at the ogre princess's outburst.
'Sooo! I hear tell you both have some big secret. You two an item now? I still prefer Sokeefe.'
Biana giggled. 'Nope!'
'Well then, what is it?' Keefe stands on his toes, and whispers something into her ear. 'Wait, really?'
'Yep!' the two teenagers say.
'And I think you should totally ship Sophianna, by the way-' starts Keefe.
'Hey!' Biana slaps him, and rolls her eyes. 'I do not-'
'Yeah right!' both he and his bodyguard say in unison.
'But, more to the point, funkyhair has to endure a punishment for leaving me alone.'
'I mean, the elven world kinda sucks with this stuff. That could be my punishment,' Keefe suggests, folding his arms and losing his smile. Biana and Elwin stop grinning too, and Ro sighs.
'You elfy people are ridiculous. I knew several ogres who were like you.'
'Yes, but were they accepted?'
'That's a good point…'
Elwin murmurs, 'I think you two should tell your other friends, and not bother with thinking about the future just yet,' and watches their expressions.
'We could ask everyone to go to Havenfield,' Biana tells Keefe quietly. 'I don't want to go home yet, and your dad doesn't seem like he'd be the best at this.'
'Yeah, Let's go back and talk to Foster.'
'I am coming with you, funkyhair and Lesbiana.'
Elwin and Keefe almost choke. 'Lesbiana?' the former asks, grinning so hard all four of them start laughing harder than before. This just seems like a day to laugh at themselves, even though there should be way more emotions at play than there are.
'I'm calling you two, "The Iconic Lesbiana and Funkyhair duo,"' Ro declares.
'It should be Hunkyhair and Lesbiana,' funkyhair tells her as Biana starts walking towards the leapmaster.
'Or we could not have a name.' She opens the door, and leaves. They follow her to the glittering crystal shining above everyone's heads, and Biana closes her eyes as she whispers, 'Havenfield,' again.
'That was fast,' Sophie says immediately, and Biana is immediately shy. Keefe's just messing with her head, right? He probably is, but, then again… 'You okay?' Sophie's voice shocks her out of her head.
'Oh, uh, yeah.'
Keefe chokes back his laughter and then turns to the other blonde. 'Hey Lady Foster-Foss. Can you hail everyone except Fitzy for us to announce our secretive lives to them? Or maybe bring Fitzy, and possibly Bi's parents, so we can try and convince them she doesn't suck. Oh! We should have brought Elwin!'
'You did,' says Elwin from behind the group, and Biana runs over to hug them, even though they were just in the same room five minutes ago. 'I thought you'd need me for this.'
'We do,' she whispers into his tunic, and pulls away to face Sophie. 'Is that alright?'
'Yeah, it's fine.'
'Thank you.' And she hugs the pretty telepath too, ignoring Keefe's words running through her head, though she holds on a little bit longer than usual.
'Should I get your family?' the Moonlark asks, glancing at Biana's face. She can't tell if Sophie's worried, scared, or sympathetic, but she assumes it's a mix of all three.
'Yeah, but not my brother. I already know he hates me.' She frowns. 'But don't hail them until after we hail the others.'
'Okay. I'll get my imparter.' She runs inside, returning a moment later with the small gadget, tapping the screen and whispering, 'Show me Dex Dizznee.' The cheerful redhead's face appears and he waves, grinning at the three elves piled behind the other side of the screen. Elwin is standing off to the side, flipping through a small book they brought.
'Hey guys!' Dex exclaims, smiling. 'What's up?'
'Could you come to my house? Biana and Keefe want to tell everyone something.'
'Is it-'
'It's not what you're thinking,' Biana says softly, and Dex shrugs.
'Sure I'll come over.' His face clicks off the imparter screen, and Biana sighs. Once Sophie hails everyone else, it's a ticking time bomb until they arrive, and she has to see if they'll still like her, like Sophie seems to, or if they'll agree with her brother. She'll just have to wait and see.
