"Bijuu speaking"
It's been a week since the incident happened and nothing really noteworthy occurred during that time. He got discharged right the next day after he woke up.
The hokage also visited him before he got discharged and checked on him if he was okay. He tried to ask the hokage about the masked Shinobi but all he got was a " don't worry about it, it's already taken care of" from the hokage. He knew that there's something the hokage is hiding but he didn't dig deeper into it.
One of the two things that he did throughout the week was visit the kyuubi and tell it the adventures of his future self. He started with the first episode when mizuki tricked him into stealing the scroll of seals and his first use of the kage bunshin all the way to the middle of the wave country arc, he didn't manage to get so far into the stories since he needs to recall them and it's a hard thing to do considering that based on what he saw on Navi's memories, it's been a while since he rewatched the series. The fox just listened and grunted when he asked if it was still listening. And although there's no visible change into the mood or expression of the fox, he could tell that it was enjoying the tales that he was retelling to it.
And lastly, the thing that brought the widest smile on his face. It was the fact that he mastered the shadow clone on the third day of his training! It was nothing to scoff at since he was only able to train for about three hours a day right after he got home from the academy. And add to the fact that he did it with no instructions from others and only using what he knows about the technique from the anime, which isn't a lot, it was nothing short of incredible.
Soon after he mastered the technique, the next thing he got down was the surface sticking exercise. He did it on the fifth day with the help of 30 clones. What made it difficult to do was the fact that his chakra coils are expanding faster than he could train. Meaning he constantly needs to train and adjust the amount he was using for the exercise lest it becomes much harder when his coils expands to an even ridiculous degree, even with the help of shadow clones the process still took him two days just to get the basics down.
The last two days of the week was spent on trying to master the surface sticking exercise, he made a substantial amount of progress but he still needs to hold a single hand seal while using it.
It brought us here right now, at the start of another week. …
The academy just concluded and Naruto is now currently sitting under a tree, staring at the thing that was twisting and turning above his palm. It was a plain golden chain that's making a helix like pattern as it turns slowly.
He is still confused as to how he has it. It shouldn't be possible because according to the memories, the chains aren't a (kekkei genkai) but a hidden technique, much like the Nara clan's shadow jutsu.
'is this somehow related to that weird energy that I used?'
He carefully observed it as he commanded it to move. The movement that it makes is kind of hypnotic. He then sent it forward with great force and it managed to Pierce through the thick trunks of multiple trees with relative ease.
He walked closer to the trees that the chains pierced and inspected the damage that it caused. ' it went through easily' he noted.
With a thought, The chains then dissolved into yellow light particles and disappeared into the air.
He sighed. 'another thing that I need to master. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I have this but at the same time, it just makes things even more difficult as It just adds to the things that I would need to practice.
I'm not even sure if my shadow clones even has the ability to use this.'
He turned to the group of clones that were practicing the surface sticking exercise, he was about to yell at one to come but he decided that he's just gonna make a new one.
He made the cross shaped hand seal and a puff of smoke appeared beside him. "Yo" the clone greeted.
"Could you try using the chains? I'm not sure if you guys are able to use it." He asked the clone.
"Sure thing, boss" the clone held his right hand forward and pointed it towards the trees the Naruto's chains previously pierced.
Nothing happened for a few seconds and Naruto was about to order the clone to dispel but suddenly, a golden chain manifested on the clone's palm, shooting Forward and piercing the tree.
A broad smile appeared on both the clone and the original as they did a high-five.
"It seems like we're able to use it too, eh?" The clone said with a broad smile on its face.
"This makes things a lot easier" Naruto commented.
He then made nine more clones dedicated to practicing the use of the chakra chains, and sent them to another part of the training ground to practice.
'I have approximately four hours before it starts getting dark.' not wanting to waste more time, he created two more shadow clones and had them fight him so he could practice and better his taijutsu.
The day transitioned to dusk and then to night, but Naruto still continues training. The reason? After the unknown shinobi's attack, it became apparent to him just how weak he currently is even against a no name Shinobi. He almost died and although he's not sure how he survived his encounter, he suspects that it must've been thanks to the anbu, he's determined to not let it happen a second time.
If it weren't for the chains that held the Shinobi up and restrained them until someone came to save him, he would've been captured or worse.
His appearance looked worse for wear as he continued sparring with two clones of himself using only hand to hand combat, creating another one once they 'poof'.
The scarf that is now part of his everyday attire was left on the sidelines among the trees as he didn't want to get it dirty.
He's covered with bruises and his blond locks are disheveled, some parts of his forehead are even covered by it. Sweat continues to pour from him, his shirt and shorts are full of tears from all the fighting.
Poof* a pop was heard when Naruto destroyed one of the clones he was fighting. It was then followed by another shortly after.
Naruto skidded to a stop, breathing heavily. He looked around and saw that most of the clones he created are still doing the task he's assigned to them, but some are sleeping and even snoring loudly.
He just sighed and dispelled them without disturbing them. And although they're just clones, they still deserved resting as they all did their best and trained till exhaustion.
"You guys can dispel yourselves now!" He ordered the clones.
"Yeesss!, finally! See ya! bossu! " One of the clones shouted, They then promptly dispelled at the same time causing Naruto to recoil and hold his head. It's not unbearable, he just got surprised as he wasn't expecting them to stupidly pop simultaneously. The influx of memories also isn't that big of a deal to him considering that he took eighteen years worth of memories with very minimal problems.
Sighing, he walked to the nearest tree to try the surface sticking exercise. He started by putting one foot on the tree, putting adequate amount of chakra to make it cling to the surface, then another, he took a step and realized that he didn't need to hold a hand seal anymore, his chakra control is decent enough that he can perform the exercise now without even holding a hand seal.
" Oh ho ho! Would you look at that!" A wide smile appeared on his face and he slowly began walking up the tree. His walking turned into a full sprint but his feet still stuck to the trunk without problem.
He jumped on one of the thick branches and proceeded to hop from branch to branch, applying the sticking exercise so he wouldn't fall.
He continued doing it for a few minutes so he could get comfortable with it before he tries something more difficult.
He landed on a single branch and looked forward to the cluster of branches that was ahead of him. The branches are so close to each other and the gaps he needs to pass through are also barely large enough to pass through.
The layout of the branches reminded him of the game shows where the contestants need to pass through a wall with specific shapes that's moving towards them. The only difference here is that the wall he's going to pass through was still and he's the one that's gonna be moving towards it.
Another thing that's similar was a circus show with a lion that jumps through a flaming hoop.
He looked around before stretching his arms and legs, preparing to start jumping through branches again.
He focused his sights forward and started jumping through the branches carefully and quickly. As he neared the branches that he's gonna jump through, he sped up even more. All of his focus is now in the gap that's between them.
Seeing that his goal is only a few feet away, he launched himself forward, spinning clockwise in the air. There's not really a reason for the spin, he just wants to kind of show off…
His body fit through the gap easily but he felt his side grace a part of a branch. When his whole body is finally through, he does a backflip midair to land on his feet. He skidded a few feet before stopping completely.
" That was a nice attempt, I graced a branch though." He commented.
Yawning, he stretched his limbs once again before walking off towards his stuff.
' I'm not gonna try that again, maybe later. For now I just wanna head home'
He picked his scarf up and wrapped it around his neck, with both its ends in his back.
'time to go' he thought.
With that he began walking home, only now did he notice how late it's gotten.
He's so focused on training that he completely forgot the time. He looked up into the sky to see that the stars are not obstructed by clouds.
He noticed that his surroundings are so quiet and peaceful unlike when it's daytime where the streets are noisy and full of people.
He could hear crickets from a distance making chirping sounds. The streets are devoid of anything and he's the only one walking on it.
The peacefulness brought a small smile to his face that he didn't even notice.
He began humming a song that he recalled from Navi's memories, one that reminds him of calmness and silence.
His humming was interrupted by a voice on his side, coming from the sole store that's still open.
"Oh, is that you Naruto? I haven't seen you in a while! How have you been"
He looked to the side and saw Teuchi, the owner of ichiraku ramen, standing in front of his shop.
A wide smile appeared on his face when he saw the old man.
" Teuchi-san! How are you?" Teuchi was one of the people that was actually kind and didn't harbor any hatred towards him. The old guy even occasionally served him food for free when he was out of money. That's one of the reasons why Naruto became his regular customer, although this week he hasn't really visited the shop and he felt bad for it.
" Are you closing now?" He asked.
" I was about to, but I could serve you if you're going to eat." Teuchi said, gesturing to his shop.
Naruto then smiled brightly before answering. " Sure I'll take three bowls and another two for take out. "
"Well, come inside! The first bowl is free! Ayame! Could you prepare five more servings of ramen." He holler to his daughter inside the shop. He entered his shop and sat down at a stool.
" Okay!! "
Naruto moved the curtains aside and entered the ramen shop before taking a seat at one of the stools.
Ayame came to the counter to ask for the customer's preference and went wide-eyed at the sight of Naruto.
"Naruto! Where have you been?! You haven't eaten here for a week!" She exclaimed, leaning over the counter with her face almost touching Naruto's.
Both teuchi and Naruto sweatdropped at ayames reaction and Naruto commented.
"Aren't you overreacting, ayame?. I've only been gone for a week, y'know."
Ayame then shook her head vigorously. " No no, I'm not overreacting, you're always eating here so we got worried when you didn't come for over two days."
Now Naruto is really feeling bad about not visiting, he knew that the father and daughter pair liked him but he didn't think that they care that much for him. He laughed wryly while scratching his head before apologizing.
" A- ha ha ha. I'm really sorry for worrying both of you. I've been focused on training and forgot to come here to eat, y'know. I've also started to cook my own meals. your ramen is still better though, teuchi-san."
The two smiled at Naruto.
Gurgle* *gurgle*
The sound of boiling water reminded Ayame that she's heating noodles. She quickly went to the pot and killed the heat. She began preparing the ramen while Naruto observed. Soon enough, a bowl of ramen was prepared and served to Naruto.
"Here it is! " Ayame presented the ramen, grinning at Naruto.
"Itadakimasu " Naruto began eating his first bowl of ramen for the week and he couldn't help but smile. He certainly missed the food.
Ayame engaged in a conversation with him, again leaning over the counter. " So Naruto, what have you been up to?"
"Nothing much, just boring academy stuff. I already knew most of the things they're teaching us, so there's nothing really interesting going on with that. Oh, and I got attacked by a Shinobi last week, that's interesting I guess." He answered adding the last part nonchalantly while sipping on the broth.
Both Ayame and Teuchi became wide eyed at the revelation. And Ayame quickly asked if everything was alright.
"What?! Are you alright?!" Ayame asked, concerned.
Naruto just waved it off though, saying that he's alright and everything's fine. " I'm not really that hurt, when we fought I got beat up by the guy at first but I somehow beat him. Well not really "beat" more like I had a random stroke of luck and almost took him down with a new ability of mine." He finished his explanation, manifesting a golden chain from his left palm and had it move around in a helix like fashion.
"Thanks for worrying about me though, I appreciate it. It's actually one of the reasons why I haven't been able to come here last week. I've been so busy training that I sometimes even forgot to eat."
Ayame let out a sigh of relief but then scrunched her eyebrows, as if remembering something while looking at the chains.
"Hey dad, isn't this the same thing that ku-" she stopped when she saw her father shaking his head.
"It's fine Teuchi-san, I already know who my mom and dad were. " Naruto reassured him and continued eating, now on his second bowl.
Teuchi smiled.
" You know, she was my most frequent customer too, just like you now. She always eats here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and your father was always trying to sway her into eating more food other than ramen." He didn't deny anything and instead just told Naruto about them.
"I figured ramen was her favorite too, most of the pictures of them that I saw were either here, with her eating ramen or at their house with ramen served on their table." Naruto replied, making the chains disappear before sending teuchi a smile.
"I was on a team with your father, back in the day."
Naruto raised an eyebrow. He certainly did not know that, even in Navi's memories there's not a single part where it was mentioned that Teuchi was a Shinobi.
"Although I didn't stay as a Shinobi for long because I realized that that kind of field of work doesn't suit me. I decided to quit and pursue business."
"That's cool, Teuchi-san. What rank did you achieve?" He said, turning his head to face Teuchi who was sitting on the seat next to him.
Teuchi scratched his chin. "Well, I managed to become a Chunin before I retired early. Anyways, let's leave it at that for now."
Naruto nodded and continued eating.
He stacked his second bowl to the first one and began eating his third. And once again, Ayame got close into his face, this time asking Naruto.
" Let me look at them again, I want to see them!" Ayame requested, fascinated by the chains that Naruto has. Naruto just laughed a little and made them again. Ayame acts like him most of the time, childish and hyperactive, despite being older than him.
"This is amazing! How many can you make?" Ayame asked excitedly.
Naruto thought for a second. He hasn't really tried making more than one chain at a time, but he guessed that he should be able to make another one with ease considering that he's not having any problem with making and controlling one.
He made a second chain and had it move around the shop gently and slowly. There's not a lot of strain with the second chain but it's there. He made another one but this time, the chain just floated over his left palm,swirling. But there's a visible struggle to it as the movements that it's making were janky and unstable. ' so three is the current limit that I can make and control.
" Controlling the third one is kind of hard, " Naruto answered.
Naruto continued eating the noodles with his free right hand Meanwhile Ayame watches in wonder as the chains move around and make spirals with each other.
"Ayame, let him eat his meal." Teuchi scolded, thinking that Ayame was bothering Naruto too much.
Ayame realizing what she was doing, apologized to Naruto but Naruto just waved saying it's not a bother at all and the chains aren't that hard to make.

Several minutes later, Naruto finished his third bowl of ramen and paid for them. The take out was also already prepared.
"Thanks for the food." Naruto said, clapping his hands together.
He stood up and picked up the plastic bag carrying that two ramen take outs and bid his goodbye to the two.
" So, see you next time, teuchi-san, Ayame. I'll definitely be back tomorrow." Naruto said, smiling.
The two did the same and Naruto started walking home with a wide smile on his face.
When Naruto got out of their view, Teuchi turned to his daughter and teased her while having a smirk on his face " So, you seem to enjoy Naruto's presence here a lot… is there something you want to tell me? "
Ayame began to sputter and turn beet red from her father's comment. " N-n-no, there's definitely nothing!"
She turned around and walked to the kitchen, steam coming out of her ears from embarrassment. " I'm gonna go wash the dishes! "
Teuchi just laughed loudly at his daughter's reaction.
Naruto sat down on his bed and set the ramen take outs on his bedside table.
"Haaah, it's been a long day." He sighed tiredly. He looked at the small clock on his table and saw the time.

'It's already this late huh' he certainly forgot the time when he was out training. He was so focused on fighting his clones that he didn't even notice the change in his surroundings. Even the transition from day to night was completely missed by him.
'And I still have that fuinjutsu book that dad made. I'm just gonna leave it to a clone. He made the cross shaped hand seal and said.
"Kage Bunshin no jutsu"
A clone appeared beside him, almost as tired as he is. "You're seriously gonna make me read a book, boss? I'm just as tired as you are, y'know! " The clone retorted. It continued to tell Naruto reasons why he shouldn't make him read the book but Naruto just plugged both his ears with each of his index fingers and closed his eyes.
Finally, when it seems that the clone had stopped his yapping, Naruto looked at him and asked boredly. " Are you done? Good. Now please start reading while I go and visit fox chan."
"You can't be serious boss! I'm tired too, y'know! Could I at least eat the ramen?!" The clone asked loudly.
Naruto sighed and answered the clone's question. " Leave me one bowl of ramen, and make sure to READ the book because I swear I'm gonna find a way to smack you in the face even after you dispel, if you do not read even a single line in it. Now get on with it! I'm gonna sleep!"
" Screw you, boss!. I'm gonna eat all the ramen and red just half of the book." The clone said, mutter the last part to himself.
"What was that??"
"Nothing, boss. Just sleep already!"
With that, Naruto laid down on his bed and entered his seal-scape.

Naruto appeared in front of the kyuubi's cage and greeted it. " Yo. "
"You're late." The kyuubi said with its deep, menacing sounding voice, though without the negative emotions that usually came with it.
Naruto sheepishly scratched his head. " Sorry about that, well where was I again? Oh yeah, kakashi got captured by zabuza"
Naruto continued telling the tale to the fox as his clone ate all the ramen and proceeded to read only a small fraction of the book.

Hey! It's me, Navi! I'm so sorry that this chapter took too long. I have been very busy in the past two weeks and I didn't really have a lot of time to write this chapter since my Mom and brother visited. I spent a lot of time with them and I hung out with Ian a lot. ,But don't worry! I now have a little more time that I could use to write new chapters.

A - Navi: he won't necessarily get therapy, If I have anything to describe Naruto's personality. He'd be like someone who would want to deal with his problems on his own without relying too much on anyone. If he could deal with it on his own, he'd find a way to fix it. So here he won't really be going to some therapist to fix his emotional and mental problems. Besides, with Navi's memories, he pretty knows what he's doing wrong, what the state of his mental health is and what he could do to improve it.

"Naruto as an ninja academy student has access to two libraries: civilian library and ninja academy library. Naruto can get so much information that way. Naruto can get henge and kawarimi and practice that way plus access to things he get to like tracking, sensor techniques to kick start being a sensor, yin exercises, meditation techniques, recipes for shinobi diet, fishing
techniques, indoor gardening techniques, hunting techniques, how to start an outdoor fire with without chakra, d rank shunshin no jutsu, d ranked jutsu, fuuin, etc. After naruto is genin, naruto has access to ninja library. And access to more information and jutsu. Chakra control exercises can be found in ninja academy library like leaf sticking, tree walking, and water walking since all three are basic chakra control exercises. Minato and kushina also copies those chakra control exercises down. Plus advanced chakra control exercises to get to perfect chakra control for hiraishin fuuin no jutsu. Minato has a massive chakra reservoir, but he wouldn't want to waste his chakra so he would continue to perfect chakra control. Naruto hasn't emptied the two boxes yet to see what minato and kushina left him."
A - Navi: well first off. It isn't actually stated or shown that Naruto had access to the Shinobi and civilian library maybe later on in his life but certainly not in his childhood. And even if he does, I doubt that he'd actually be able to go into any of them as most of the poeple on konoha hated him and would go out of their way to limit his knowledge to " stop the fox from gaining back Its power." Even in the first episode the civilians were shown to hate Naruto just getting an education in the ninja academy. So there's no doubt that Naruto wouldn't be able to access them even if he wanted to.
Second - the henge was taught later on in the academy, I'd reckon maybe in the third year, and kawarimi was a technique that would be taught to them around the same time or even later. They'd be taught those techniques right in their last year, before they get their jonin instructors.
He wouldn't necessarily get access to the things you said he'd have even if he had access to the Library. The tracking, yes he'd be able to get some knowledge about it 'IF' he could go to the academy.
Also he wouldn't become a sensor just by reading some instructions on how to sense people better. Those books were made for someone that was already born a sensor and Naruto, as far as I know, wasn't born a sensor. The only way he could be a sensor is if he got access to more of Kurama's chakra and gained the negative emotion sensing. So no, it wouldn't kickstart his career as a sensor nin.
Third - yes the instructions on chakra control are in the library but I already have an idea of how Naruto would do the chakra exercise without going into the library and without gaining suspicion. Not that he would care about their suspicions since the hokage already thinks that his knowledge came from the fox.
I don't really know what you mean by " Minato and kushina also copies those chakra control exercises down." So, moving on.

… No… just having an incredible chakra control doesn't cut it. You'd need to have extensive knowledge on fuinjutsu just to get its basics. Hiraishin also isn't that easy to replicate, having it copied doesn't mean that you'd be able to do it, because if it's that easy, everyone on the Naruto verse with even a barely decent knowledge on fuinjutsu would be teleporting everywhere. And I also think that those seals have something in them that would allow only its maker to use it.
Lastly " Naruto hasn't emptied the two boxes yet to see what minato and kushina left him." Yes, there's still more things Minato and kushina left for for Naruto and he'd do everything he can to get those. The hokage only gave him a small amount of it. The instructions on fuinjutsu that they have made no doubt. And some of the things that were important to them.
