Madara was lying on the cold ground and breathing weakly as he knew his death was inevitable. His death was assured as soon as the ten tails were taken out of him. At the moment, his last wish was to have a talk with his old friend, Hashirama.

Hashirama said nostalgically as he reminded of their childhood with good memories.

"When we were kids, you once said we're shinobi and we don't know when we will die."

"We'd both have to reveal what's inside of us and pour each other drinks to toast like brothers..."

All of sudden, he stopped for a moment and continued.

"...But we're both about to die."

"Right now, we can drink together as war buddies."

"War... buddies,... huh?" Madara tried to say it properly but he felt exhausted. His eyes were extremely tired and as if they could close at any time.

"Well, I guess that's okay... Bye..." After those last words, Madara's eyes slowly closed. In the last moment of his life, he peacefully passed away.

A drop of water fell on the ground, which woke Madara up instantly. He gradually opened his eyes just to see him in a strange place, a space without anything but darkness.

He looked around to find anyone near his place. Fortunately for him, it seemed that he wasn't the only person getting stuck in this realm, there was another man, who was currently unconscious.

Madara gradually approached the unconscious man and was about to awaken him. But before he could do that, his face made the Uchiha shocked to his spine. The person who was asleep was also an Uchiha. Strangely but familiar, he had the swirl pattern on the right half of his face.

"...Obito!? How the hell you are here?" Madara shouted in confusion. His words were loud enough to awake the sleeping Uchiha.

"Common, Rin... Let me sleep for just 5 minutes more..." Obito talked while sleeping, but he soon realized something wrong with that voice.

"Wait a second... MADARA!?" Obito opened and widened his eyes in shock. As a force of instinct, He immediately stood up and activated his Mangekyou Sharingan, getting into his fighting stance for a battle.

"What are you doing here, you bastard!? Can't you even let me rest in peace with Rin?" Obito yelled at Madara in rage. He couldn't forgive that bastard for taking advantage of him.

Just a second later, Madara activated his dual of Rinnegan as a sign of warning. He was ready for a fight that may happen if Obito couldn't restrain his hot head.

They continued staring at each other in intense until a voice spoke up.

"Calm down, you two! I didn't bring you here to fight against each other."

They turned to the place of the voice, finding out an old man sitting on 10 floating black orbs.

"Who are you?" They both questioned the old man. He was a tall and pale-skinned man, he also had a pair of horn-like protrusions extending from either side of his forehead. He wore a white, full-length kimono with a pattern of six black around a high collar, which was similar to Madara's costume after becoming the jinchuriki of Ten Tails.

However, both Madara and Obito soon noticed his eyes.

"Wait! those eyes!" They exclaimed in surprise as soon as they realized he had Rinnegan.

"I am Hagoromo Otsutsuki or you could say 'Sage of Six Paths'" The old man revealed his identity, making the two Uchihas go speechless in shock.

"Now then... Do you know why you two were brought here?" Hagoromo asked them with a grim tone, making the air between them more intense.

"What's wrong with us?" Obito questioned with a few sweats running down his forehead.

"Both of you simply can't go to the afterlife." The Sage of Six Paths answered seriously.

"Why not? Hashirama is waiting to have a drink with me in heaven and I would go to see him anyway." Madara said to the Otsutsuki determinedly, he couldn't forget his last conversation with his old friend. "Right now, we can drink together as war buddies."

All of sudden, The Sage of Six Paths let out a laugh loudly.

"Hahaha!... Sorry to tell you this, Madara!"

"Both heaven and hell would never accept you nor Obito because of the crimes you two have committed through your life."

"Which means you two couldn't go meet your friends in heaven and will be stuck in this place forever."

This time, both Madara and Obito became very nervous and serious

"Wait, old man! ...There must be some way to help us... We can't stay in this realm with you for eternity." Obito said to Hagoromo in despair, begging for his help.

"That's right, I think we could do something to save ourselves from this congested state." Madara nodded in agreement with Obito, he hated the idea of being trapped in this domain perpetually.

"What?" The two Uchihas reacted in shock, they never expected their job would be that hard and difficult.

"Now, before you two leave, come here, I have these gifts for both of you." Hagoromo told them. As he said, they stepped toward his position and stopped right before him. And then, the Sage of Six Paths put his hands over their's eyes and started transferring his power to them.

After a few minutes, he removed his hands from their faces to reveal his support for them.

"Obito, I have given you a Rinnegan integrated with your Mangekyou Sharingan's abilities." Hagoromo told Obito as he gave him a hand mirror to check it himself.

"Unlike Sasuke's Rinnegan, yours could be activated and turned off like a normal Sharingan."

"Really?" Obito immediately watched himself in the mirror, seeing his left eye replaced with a 3 tomoe Rinnegan. "Wait, it means now I can use Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo. Thank you very much, old man."

"I see you have the same spirit as that Naruto." The Otsutsuki said with a slight smile. He then turned to the other Uchiha and also told him about his new ability.

"About you, Madara, I have given you the ability to channel your Sharingan again. From now on, you could convert between your Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan flexibly."

Madara made a satisfied smile on his face. Honestly, it would be useful for him to transfer between those eyes in fighting.
