Disclaimer: I don't own One Piece or Pokemon.
A/N: Not going to lie, I don't really like the name of this chapter.
It is impossible to sleep on planes, especially when you're tall. So cramped! My sleep schedule is going to suffer... Anyway, it's my birthday! :D
Not sure what to follow that up with so here's the chapter, I hope you enjoy it.
Judging by everyone else's reactions, the horizon glowing as fire rages on the surface of the sea isn't as beautiful and glorious as Niran made dawn sound. Aliahra isn't ignorant enough to guess Vivi's suppressed tears are because of the beauty.
Igaram's boat had exploded, most likely killing him although her gut and Giratina say he still lives. The disguised mannequins Usopp put the effort into making will be turning into ashes. The Eternal pose to Alabasta is likely destroyed judging by how fragile Nami made her own pose out to be. Either way, if everyone thinks he's dead, it'll be best for his survival if they continue to sell it.
Before she could ask if this is actually what dawn is like, the silhouette of a woman riding a turtle approaches them on the sea.
Nico Robin Lv 36
Banchi Lv 27
She has my name! Nico cries although the trepidation in her voice mirrors Aliahra's as she considers how they're supposed to face such high-level foes.
A quick look at everyone's levels reinforces that trepidation into fear. While they have numbers, they barely had a chance to recover. Niran hasn't even woken up yet and Nico's been fussing over her feathers instead of resting. At least Darcy took the chance to nap and recover.
Luffy's at 22, Zoro and Sanji 19, Nami and Usopp have managed to get to 16 but Vivi's at 12 and Carue's at 10. With Niran out and Nico good for one attack, her two highest-level Pokémon are out. While getting an Intimidate in would be beneficial, it's equally likely that the opponents could be Special Attackers. Rendering it all effectively useless anyway.
This just leaves Darcy at Lv 15, Terra at 14 and Zhaleh at 13. Apparently, he hasn't had much of a chance to fight, although he should have the best base stat total of the bunch being fully evolved.
In addition, Robin is a Devil Fruit User. Water will automatically be super-effective against her. Gira begins. Although a level difference of this magnitude might render that possibility futile, especially with Zhaleh's speed.
I'm still a Health Tank, and if it's SP. Defence, I can definitely tank one of those. But I thought still water was what sapped Devil Fruit User's strength? Zhaleh points out.
Still water will render them useless, yes, but Water-type attacks are super effective against them. Gira clarifies. However, I should clarify something. Nico, she does not have your name.
Aliahra looks back at the incoming woman's name. Everyone disagrees with Giratina's statement.
They sigh at this. Nico, you have her name. You are named after her. They explain.
Nico shoves her way to the front, and they're all treated to a better view of the incoming namesake of their sister.
Nonchalantly sitting on her turtle companion as if she hadn't just blown a person up, Nico Robin approaches them unerringly. Her eyes are shadowed under a cowboy hat and the only visible part of her face, her mouth, is smirking slightly but they can't catch what emotion is tied to it.
Mystery practically exudes from her along with a certain graceful danger. Judging by the thoughts Nico's having, she's not completely offended to be named after this person.
'Any chance my namesake will spare us?' Nico whispers in her mind.
It is a likely possibility. Giratina says. Everyone bar a complaining Zhaleh collapses in relief and while Nico heaves a sigh of relief too, she remains tense on the off chance she isn't feeling merciful.
"Why the relief? Igaram's dead, the person who killed him's approaching and you look like you're abo-." Carue rushes out.
Combining her higher level that his animal instincts should be able to detect and her Intimidate Ability, he makes the correct decision to stop before insinuating anything negative about her appearance.
"I have bad news, good news and even greater news. What would you like to know first?" She addresses the whole ship.
"Great news! Great news!" Usopp, Nami and Carue chorus. The rest silently ask for the bad news although there's a bit of desperate hope in Vivi's eyes. Igaram would have been her only lifeline these last two years.
"Good news first then," she begins to everyone's disappointment. Usopp asks why she even bothered asking if she was going to say something else. "Good news, Igaram's alive but don't let her know that. Just in case, you understand." She gestures at Robin.
"How do you even know this?" Vivi asks, unconsciously leering at her in search of answers. The defence drop doesn't really matter considering the meagre remains of her health.
"Giratina is a ghost-type, they can sense if someone's died or not." She admits, receiving a strange fear-filled response from Usopp. Where exactly did he get those cloves of garlic and what was that strange 't' shape of wood supposed to do?
"What do you mean 'ghost-type'?" Nami shrieks.
"Giratina's a ghost? Cool! Makes sense why they don't poop then." Luffy says, momentarily brightening up at the news.
"Every Pokémon's got a type or two. Ghost-types usually are born through death so they all have a sixth sense for death. If Giratina says Igaram's not dead, I believe them." Nico says. "Now for the bad news."
Usopp once again complains about how she shouldn't have asked if she was going to leave it to last. She thought he was a storyteller of sorts, doesn't he know anything of rising tension and suspense?
"Bad news is, that turtle she's riding is level 27, which is five levels higher than Luffy." They all stiffen at that since, even though they don't exactly know what she means by levels, they can tell it's a measure of strength in this case. "To make the bad news even worse, that woman's level is 36. That's nearly as strong as Zoro and Sanji combined. Also, she's a woman so Sanji won't even hit her."
Maybe that last addition comes out a bit aggressive sounding, but Darcy agrees with her sentiment and Niran hasn't accepted his apology yet. So what if he's unconscious and unable to accept it? He's her brother and that means she has a duty and responsibility to uphold. Judging by how he stiffens, Sanji realises that it's not going to be just Niran he'll have to apologise to.
"And the great news?" Luffy asks, seriously considering Robin's silhouette.
"Gira says it's likely she'll spare us." Usopp and Nami collapse in relief. Zoro looks disappointed and Sanji at least makes the effort to not look as relieved that they may not be facing a woman as he no doubt feels. Luffy's silent but Vivi is decidedly not.
"How are you sure about that?!" She doesn't shout at the top of her lungs but the whisper shout is harsh.
"Apparently, that woman is my namesake. Aliahra named me after her." They double-take at that. "I'm not the only one on the team named after a person, Darcy was named after two people actually."
Technically he was named after one person who was named after another. Darcy is understandably interested in this Pride and Prejudice story, even if it's likely not a genre he'd enjoy. Nico's personally more interested in the sass than the romance Gira said is in it.
"So her name is Nico Robin too?" Luffy looks confused as he looks back and forward between the two.
Nico smiled at him. "Yeah, but where we're from Nico would be my given name and Robin would have been my family name. Although technically both words are my given name since we don't have an actual family name." Luffy still looks a little confused but it is for a different reason why now. "Just call me Nico, she's Robin."
He nods with acceptance, putting everything else she said out of her head but the others will most likely bring it up again at a later time. Aliahra switches with her to stand on the deck. If nothing else, having her out means that Banchi won't be as aggressive.
Ah ain't a bloody bird. Darcy protests, Zhaleh supporting him for once by cheering in agreement. Ya not getting' me ta use Robin as my last name!
None of us requires a last name, Nico's full given name will be Nico Robin. There is nothing wrong with this. Giratina says, settling the matter.
"She's here," Zoro announces, drawing his swords and standing near her. Just enough that he could respond to any attack towards her but won't restrict her mobility should she choose to fly or attack herself. Giratina hums in satisfaction, and she won't deny it, it sounded a little sinister.
There's something she's missing. She'll ask the others later if they know why Gira is acting in such a manner. For now, there's a more pressing matter to deal with.
"I'm so glad you managed to escape." She muses, gracefully boarding the ship. Her arms are crossed but one caresses her own face. Her fingers tapping in absentminded amusement. She knows she is stronger than everyone on board. She knows she can take them all on together.
Aliahra is going to be honest: it intimidates her. But like hell is she going down without a fight, this Robin doesn't know that there are more on their side than can be seen. She likely doesn't know Luffy has a Devil Fruit since their crew is new to the Grand Line and the fruits are apparently a myth in the Blues.
Pokémon don't exist in this world either, so their appearance will be a surprise at least.
Robin has a Devil Fruit that allows her to sprout parts of her body on surfaces in her field of vision. She is indeed fully capable of snapping the spines of everyone on this crew. Excluding, of course, Luffy with his Rubber Body. Giratina mentions. In addition, she is a Grand Line veteran, she has learnt to expect the unexpected from this sea and its inhabitants.
Earlier would 'ave been da time ta share dat! Darcy yells, but even he is still raring to go.
"Nice ship," she comments, lazily glancing over the Going Merry's rigging. Surveying the deck and almost seeming to ignore the people on board. "I met your friend Mr. 8 earlier, Miss Wednesday. Or should I say, the Captain of the Guard Igaram, your highness Princess Vivi Nefertiti?"
Vivi is a splendid actor. Her face pales and starts dripping in sweat, her tone when she asks Robin if she killed Igaram is both dead and seething. "What are you doing here, Miss All Sunday?"
Robin doesn't get to answer as Nami asks Vivi and – judging by the glance she throws in Aliahra's direction – her which Mr Number is she partnered with. Giratina and Vivi both say Mr. 0, in other words, she is the second-in-command of Baroque Works. Aliahra makes a hollow fist that, from behind Zoro, only her crewmates would be able to see. A confirmation that she really is the partner of Mr. 0 from Giratina.
Robin glances at her and raises an eyebrow of amused curiosity. She saw. The open fist turns into a clenched fist but for some reason, it doesn't feel very comfortable. Vivi continues on, having never glanced at Aliahra and not realising she has confirmed her statement and says that she found out Mr. 0's identity by following Miss All Sunday.
"Actually, I let you follow me." Robin admits.
"That was nice," Luffy says cheerfully before glancing over at Aliahra, "I can see why Nico's named after her."
That makes Robin straighten up and sharpen her gaze, her hand falls off her face but judging by the way Giratina stiffened when Aliahra took a split-second glance inside the Distortion World just to reaffirm who is uninjured, that is similar to an offensive pose for her.
"Oh?" She muses, her voice light but her gaze most definitely not. "Am I someone's namesake? That certainly is a surprise."
"My name's Aliahra." She states, coming out from behind Zoro only a little. "It's my sister who is named Nico Robin in honour of you."
Robin just hums in consideration. Even Aliahra can see why Nico is named after her. That piercing gaze and intimidating behaviour are both the abilities of the Staravia line, the relaxed way she holds herself, even the fact that her hair is clean-cut and well maintained, not a hair out of line… altogether, Robin very much resembles Nico. Although by the fact that two of those facts are about the Staravia line instead makes it clear why it was Nico who was named after Robin.
And it was probably not just the fact that Nico is the only girl on the team and a robin is apparently a bird.
"I wonder what sort of parent would name their child after a Devil's Child." Robin muses, it may seem like a rhetorical musing, but it is instead a demand for information. Aliahra can't deny her own curiosity about the matter. Especially since it is her past self who named Nico. It doesn't mean she hasn't any theories.
"She loved the Devil themself, even though her home ended up banishing her for it." She says, grateful for the fact that Giratina explained as much as they could about her past self as they could in the small amount of time they had before she met the Straw Hats. "If there was someone renowned for being a Devil's Child, she would have taken notice of them. Most likely pretty favourably too."
That just leaves more questions that make Robin finally furrow her brow since she knows she can't get the answers.
Suddenly, the bandages on her face and neck drop. Her body reacts to catch them but her face is now bared to the cold night air. It's the cold that stings her scars, not so much the air.
Faces pale at the sight of her face, but Luffy, Zoro and Robin don't so much as blink at the sight. Zoro most likely because he isn't facing her and is keeping his eyes on Robin. Aliahra can't deny her curiosity any longer and looks over the side of the ship behind her. The dark water barely reflects her face, but she can see the angry, almost glowing, red ferns that cover her face, hides under her hair and crawls down her neck to her collar bone. The skin around it is a different colour from the rest of her.
Zoro lets the light of the fiery horizon flash off his swords. She looks into them instead and can finally pinpoint the colour. It isn't skin, not anymore, but dull platinum leather. The same material that makes up Giratina's skin. Her eye that gets covered by an eyelid of dragon leather is blue like her other eye. Is it wrong of her to be disappointed it isn't red and black like Gira's?
However, her sight out of that eye is slightly blurred. While her undamaged eye can see outlines, this eye sees the shapes blurring at the edges. However, the last twenty-four hours have already trained her to be used to only half this view so it doesn't throw her off. In fact, it's slightly easier to judge the distances she couldn't before.
She pokes one of the fern scars. It stings and she can feel an almost mental slap on her wrist from Darcy.
Don' hurt yaself, he says, pain is dere ta tell ya somethin' is wrong.
The others hum in agreement. Even Niran unconsciously moans in pain, but Gira sighs and says that he seems to be healing a bit, now that he's resting.
She grins and stops poking at it, although the urge is still there. "Hey, this looks really pretty!"
Nami looks offended by her cheery shout. Usopp gets a bit of the "incredulous" emotion added to his pale face. The exact emotions causing it are unknown to her at this point. Sanji looks awkward but he does smile genteelly and gently at her.
"I'm sure no one else could pull it off as brilliantly as you, my Lady." He says before he quickly returns his attention to the present threat.
While Banchi is currently giving them all, but specifically Aliahra, a dirty, aggressive look (so much for the thought she wouldn't make him aggressive), Robin looks the picture of control. Damn, Aliahra really wants to be able to pull that off. She can feel Nico agreeing with her. The adrenaline of this stalemate is the only thing keeping the Staravia conscious.
"Have you eaten a Devil Fruit?" Robin inquires.
While Aliahra gets the sense that she shouldn't divulge information about herself to the enemy, Robin must be an exception.
"No, I can throw myself into the ocean if you want me to prove it." Although if she does do that, she'll instantly transform into Zhaleh. Even if her body knew how to swim, she doesn't know how to let her body do so. Not to mention, there is an enemy in the water. Perhaps with his invisibility, they can attack and avoid Banchi. If something lives in the water, then it's likely a Water-type.
From what she can remember of the quick hash down on Pokémon that Giratina gave last night, there doesn't sound like there's anything that lives underwater that isn't part Water-type.
This Banchi will know Surf. Giratina states. Hidden Moves allow trainers to influence the environment outside of a Pokémon battle. Surf allows a trainer to ride a Pokémon over bodies of water.
And it didn't need to be stated, but Robin rode here on Banchi.
Good thing my ability Water Absorb means I'm immune to Water-type attacks! Zhaleh cheers.
Aliahra resists the urge to grin. She can't set off any suspicion. Robin seems to acknowledge her offer to jump into the drink but doesn't ask her to do so.
She brings out something that looks like the log pose on Nami's wrist. It gets tossed over to Luffy who catches it without focusing on it.
"This is an Eternal Pose to the Island before Alabasta," Robin informs them. Nami, Usopp, Carue and Vivi take a moment to look excited over such an item before giving it a suspicious look. Robin continues. "No one from Baroque Works will be there. This isn't a trap."
Before anyone could react - although Darcy did manage to yell out Wait! – Luffy crushed the Eternal Pose in his hand. "No one gets to decide my route." He said, somehow both cold and warm in tone.
Robin lets out an amused huff while the four who were once excited yell at Luffy for breaking such a time saver.
It is good that Luffy broke the Eternal Pose. Giratina states. There are a few friends that they would not have met should they have taken this preselected route.
But wouldn't that also mean there are some potential friends we'll miss since we're taking the scenic route? Zhaleh questions.
Darcy snorts. If dis is da route dey were meant ta take den dis is da best route ta train on, princess.
What did I say about calling me Princess, Brute?! Zhaleh shouts, causing Aliahra to wince at the sudden sound. He apologises pretty quickly for that. Thankfully, they garner nothing more than a curious glance as Robin, now done with the conversation, jumps back onto Banchi's back.
Instantly, the aggression he continuously displayed disappears. With his "trainer" making the effort to leave before a proper battle even began, there is no fight to continue.
'I thought you said when a trainer meets another trainer, it's inevitable they'd fight?' She questions Giratina.
Indeed that is the case, but there are no trainers anymore. Every opponent can be considered a wild encounter, and thus one can flee from it if they choose to.
Wait, wouldn't that mean Run Away could have been a very good ability? Nico asks as if the mere idea of this ability being good is blasphemy of the highest order. Combined with the drowsiness in her voice, she seems confused about whether or not she's perhaps dreaming or hallucinating.
It would have had its uses. Giratina merely replies.
She can just feel her conscious Pokémon get bewildered by that confirmation.
'What's Run Away?' she asks. The only abilities she currently knows are the ones each of her Pokémon has.
Perhaps you should learn alongside the Straw Hats. It feels like something they should learn about too. Terra says, letting out his own yawn. Instantly, Zhaleh and Darcy both yawn too.
Oi, don't go yawnin' us off ta sleep. Darcy protests, but barely a second later she can hear his faint snores join Nico's. It's joined by two others a split second later.
Aside from her and Giratina, all of them are not conscious. Her head feels strangely quiet. It's a bit disconcerting.
She stumbles as Nami gently pushes her towards the girl's room. Vivi is following behind her with Carue just falling asleep on deck. The boys aside from Zoro go below deck to get some sleep themselves. It seems that getting a nap yesterday while they were travelling to Whiskey Peaks meant he had guard duty.
"Come on, you've been awake since yesterday morning. Get some rest." She says, and even helps her get into her hammock – why her past self chose to sleep in a hammock when there is another bed is a mystery to her, but Vivi gets to sleep in it now so at least it is not unused.
Both Nami and Vivi fell asleep quickly, but Aliahra didn't feel tired at all.
I will tell you about what one could and should expect from the Grand Line. Giratina speaks, and she listens.
"You don't have to make any food for Niran yet, Gira said without a doctor, he'll only wake up tomorrow morning," Aliahra speaks, entering the kitchen after overhearing some noise.
Sanji looks over and his eyes dart uncomfortably. "I'll be sure to make a nutritious meal to help with healing after he wakes up." He darts around the kitchen and while it isn't chocolate milk, does leave a colourful-looking drink for her on the dinner table. "I hope you had a pleasant sleep. Are you the only one awake, my Lady?"
She shrugs and sits, using the straw in the drink to move the ice cubes inside it. "Didn't sleep, don't know how to."
The admittance gains her an alarmed look and she can almost see Sanji mentally take stock of his ingredients to see how cooking may help.
"Gira said I don't need to, so unless it's forced on me, I'll always be awake." She continues. "But yeah, I'm the only one awake at the moment, but Terra's most likely to wake up first since he didn't get to battle yesterday. Gira wants to get them all on a sleep schedule so at least one of them will be awake with me all the time. Though they say that Terra likes sleeping in so it won't be him with me in the mornings usually."
She takes a sip and hums cheerfully at the taste. It's not chocolate milk, but it's really good. The chill helps make her feel a little more alert. Sanji smiles at her reaction and she knows she'll be getting drinks like this in the morning more often. She cheers at the thought.
"What times are- they? Don't you all typically address Giratina as they?" He seems confused by this.
She nods and explains that it's because Giratina simply doesn't have a gender or sex (cause apparently those, while similar, are different). They also really didn't want to use those Xe/Xyr pronouns Arceus uses.
Although apparently Palkia uses female pronouns cause she's pissed at people saying her head looks like something. They wouldn't explain it any further, but Dialga adopted male pronouns to be different after they all did this. Or maybe he was the first to do so since while time flows because of him, he doesn't have to follow the flow of it like everyone else.
While Sanji seems uncomfortable with this discussion, he doesn't let it distract him from cooking breakfast and he doesn't dismiss it. Probably for the best considering it's about gods and the devil. He has some sense in him when it comes to his battles, unlike Luffy and Zoro.
"As for times, Niran usually wakes up at sunrise, so he gets the early dawn. Terra's got to get some regular photosynthesis in so he's going to nap after lunch and stay up with me at midnight. Zhaleh's going to be between Terra and Niran since hunting sea life for breakfast would be best then, and Darcy and Nico are going to have to fight on who gets to stay up first." She says before draining her drink. The melting ice had started to make it taste a little less flavourful. It was becoming "watered-down" apparently.
Sanji, while appreciative, doesn't support Zhaleh hunting in the early hours of the dawn when not many are awake to help. Even after saying that Terra would be easy to wake and that Zhaleh's invisible underwater he doesn't relent in his disapproval.
Giratina is no help and actually concedes the fight. Zhaleh's going to be annoyed, she just knows it. Perhaps that's why Giratina is making her have this argument while the Vaporeon is still asleep.
"But Zhaleh's immune to Water-type attacks!" She whines in a last-ditch attempt for her oldest brother.
That garners her a confused look and she waves it off with a physical wave of her hand. "Gira said they'll teach me more about Pokémon Abilities when you're all awake. They think you should all learn the basics of Pokémon Battling so that you won't be confused if you ever have to battle alongside any of them."
Luffy busts into the kitchen right after she says that, a still sleepy-looking Usopp and an unaffected by slightly annoyed Zoro. Carue hesitates before entering a minute later and Nami and Vivi walk in, clearly prepared for the day ahead, after that.
Breakfast is chaos, so Aliahra's glad she got to eat before everyone else arrives. Nico's intimidating aura seems to work at protecting her food from Luffy's reaching hands but Darcy has great fun punching and slapping away every hand that comes even remotely close to him. Nami smiles appreciatively every time he incidentally protects her food.
Considering Terra's food is made mostly out of food that should be composted, Luffy avoids his food. Zhaleh tries to start an actual battle with Luffy over his wandering hands, but as soon as any water starts to rise, he's switched out and Aliahra uses the suddenly increased reach to snag something off Luffy's plate in retaliation.
While Giratina doesn't need to eat, they do appreciate her efforts. Darcy also supports it, which initially surprises Terra until the Riolu said it is training her reaction times. Apparently stealing is bad, but it is typical of pirates.
"My lady," Sanji says, giving her another iced drink now that her conscious Pokémon have all eaten their breakfast. They are all really fast eaters, in the time it took four of them to eat their meals, everyone else (But Luffy whose meals are much bigger) ate one. Although their meals are smaller than others since they are smaller beings. "Earlier you said Zhaleh was immune to all water-based attacks because of a Pokémon Ability?"
"Hmm, oh yeah!" She exclaims, remembering. "Every Pokémon has a special ability, Zhaleh has Water Absorb which makes him immune to Water-type attacks and actually heals him for about a quarter of his total HP."
People look confused after she drops the term HP. "HP is short for Health Points. All you have to know is that if Zhaleh gets hit by a Water Attack, he'll heal, and even if he were at the brink of unconsciousness, he'll be back to full health- uh, he'll be one-hundred per cent healthy, no damage, after being hit by four water type attacks."
Zhaleh puffs up as they all look amazed at such healing prowess. She grins in pride too.
"Nico used to have the ability Keen Eyes when she was a Starly, but after evolving she's got the ability Intimidate instead." She continues, and Darcy lets her all know they get curious at the mention of Evolving. But that'll be another thing she can teach them about another time.
Terra's is going to be the next to evolve at Level 18, which is still four levels away. But a demonstration will be useful, even though Nami and Usopp have already seen Nico evolve and the others have seen the after-effects.
"Keen Eyes meant that her Accuracy couldn't be decreased. You could throw sand in her eyes and she'd still be able to hit you as accurately as ever." She says, miming the action of throwing sand. Zoro winces at the reminder of how Zhaleh did so in their battle. "Intimidate only "activates" when she switches in, but it decreases the Physical Attack of all opponents on the field."
Luffy tilts his head in confusion, so she quickly tells them that Pokémon Attacks are classified as either Physical or Special and have a corresponding Physical and Special Defence. Along with HP and Speed, they're what are called the stats of a Pokémon.
"Basically, some attacks would now deal less damage." She ends on. Usopp and Nami instantly look jealous since they both don't want to be hurt as bad as they could be if ever possible.
She doesn't convey Nico's mocking taunts over the topic and the implied supremacy she gets over it.
"Like Zhaleh, Niran's got an ability that makes him immune to a specific type's attacks. Flash Fire makes him immune to Fire-type attacks and, while it doesn't heal him, it does then boost the damage of any Fire-Type attacks he makes for the rest of the battle." Aside from Luffy and Zoro, they all look a bit off after mentioning Niran. So she quickly tells them that Niran's fine and will wake up tomorrow morning.
Luffy gets some sort of look in his eye when she mentions the lack of a doctor again, but Darcy says it's nothing to be worried about and Nico mentions that Gira had said they'll be getting a doctor soon anyway.
"Darcy's got the Ability Inner Focus, which makes it so he can't get flinched and miss a chance to attack." It is the simplest ability to explain, but for some reason, Darcy doesn't seem proud of it. In fact, he sways slightly and his eyes dart for a second before becoming impassive.
After another night to get used to it, she's starting to get better at perceiving two different worlds at the same time. Although she does still have to close an eye to do so. So her damaged eye has been closed since Terra woke up.
"Terra's ability is called Overgrow. When he's at a third or less of his total health, his Grass-Type Attacks get a boost in power." She finishes on, and Terra sheepishly has her convey that this ability rarely gets used since it's hard to safely use.
All she needs to know is that Terra's Grass-Type Attacks are stronger when his health is in the red and that tense music begins to play. Back when he had the move Giga Drain, that would be the best time to use it, since it's the best version of Absorb. After a moment of silence in the Distortion World side of things, Nico offhandedly mentions that Flash Fire is a much better ability than Overgrow. Clearly saying so in Niran's stead.
Considering one grants an immunity and they both are hard to activate, she can kind of agree. In addition, Niran keeps the power boost after it's activated. Terra loses it after healing.
"Eh, does Giratina have an ability?" Luffy asks, finishing off the very last of the food. She starts piling up plates, even as Sanji protests against her doing so. She wants to feel at least kind of useful. Her Pokémon can fight, but she can't.
"Yeah, but since Gira has different forms depending on which dimension they're in, it changes. In the Distortion World, while in their Origin Form, they've got Levitate, which makes them immune to all Ground-Type Attacks. Whenever they're in this world and in their Altered Form, they've got Pressure. Pressure makes it so everyone else's attacks take twice the amount of effort."
Zoro gets an interested look in his eyes. So she has to tell them that Gira's not willing to crossover to this world while the rest of her Pokémon are weak. They all take it surprisingly well, and Nami even thanks Gira for not putting a target on their backs with their presence.
"Whelp, Zhaleh and I are off to catch lunch. We won't swim too far out!" And she rushes out of the room before anyone can tell her otherwise.
By taking the dishes to the sink for clean-up, she's right next to the door. It's nice to see a plan go off perfectly.
Oi Trainer! I want to get a level. Zhaleh demands as they jump into the ocean.
'We're hunting until we catch enough for lunch.' She merely states. 'I'm not risking staying underwater in the Grand Line for too long.'
He whines, trying to insist that he's strong enough to deal with one ocean, but even he can't deny her when all the others join in. Darcy even kicks Niran to make a pathetic-sounding noise. Terra nudges the Riolu over for that.
Out there somewhere, Robin is now wondering if there is a devil and if they're capable of reproducing with humans. This is after being stumped for a bit at the revelation someone thought she was worthy enough to name one of their kids after her.
Sanji finding out about Non-Binary, it helps that they're deities. I don't really know how he'd react to it, but with Ivankov's people, he was traumatised by trans women.
