*Looks at Pokemon Violet.* Why can't I own you until Christmas?! Oh right, you're going to be a Christmas gift. Sigh.
Thanks, Gamelover41592 and everyone else who has left a review. They mean a lot to me :)
Hope you enjoy this chapter and yes, that is the title of the chapter :D
It is decided that a bird's eye view would lead them to their destination earlier and that travelling by air would also be faster. Niran whined about it, but Nico merely pointed out that she had no obstacles.
Oh, how wrong she was.
Pterodactyl Lv 18
The Aerodactyl-like creature is racing towards her, bloodlust all too clearly evident in its eyes.
We can't switch. We'd just fall out of the sky. Terra says in abject terror at the reality.
I could land safely! I can jump much higher than this, I'm sure! Niran spoke up. Still, he wouldn't be able to participate in this battle.
At least this Pterodactyl has its attack dropped by her Intimidate ability. If it's anything like an Aerodactyl, then it would be a Physical attacker.
It starts rushing at her. Considering the lack of light moves like Brave Bird gives off and the knowledge that prehistoric animals were all Dragon-type, the move Dragon Rush comes to mind.
Considering how easily she dodged the attack, without setting up a Double Team to increase her evasiveness and she has no way to decrease the Pterodactyl's accuracy, she can only hope that the reason the attack missed was that it had the Hustle ability. Dragon Rush had the same damage stat as the move Earthquake. Even if Hustle would be terrifying since it's boosting the enemy's attack, at least it makes it less accurate.
With the Double Team she just used after evading being hit, it'll be much more preferable.
Trying to fly away didn't work, the Pterodactyl is faster than her. Instead of rushing at her, it bares its teeth and bites her. Nico flinches, missing the opportunity to attack, but an afterimage takes the next attack. She's free to attack.
A Fly brings her up even further and while she can't use it to escape, it does mean the Pterodactyl bites at the air uselessly before she comes flying back down to hit.
It's not very effective.
A Quick Attack also isn't very effective. Though thankfully the Pterodactyl strikes back with a not-very-effective Wing Attack of its own.
'Rock-Dragon. If all dinosaurs are Dragons, I think it's rock-type too. That or Steel. Am I getting the defensive type match-ups right?' Aliahra pipes up.
That is correct. Aerodactyl was Rock-Flying while it was originally alive as well. It seems in this world, its counterpart, Pterodactyl, is also Rock-type. Giratina confirms.
Nico got the urge to swear. She can see why Darcy and Zhaleh do it now. She doesn't succumb to the urge though because honestly, she is better than some urge. Even though it is very obvious she doesn't have any super effective, let alone any that is not practically ineffective against this opponent.
Nico, fly at it. I'll try a Flame Wheel.
What? Hah? Niran? What da fu- Mrph?
'You know what you're doing Niran?' Aliahra asks, her voice firm.
That firmness of voice, so reminiscent of their time back in Sinnoh, actually calms Nico down. She uses a Fly in the interim. A few extra seconds for Niran to explain his request.
We physically exist, we're not trapped in Pokeballs. Nothing is stopping me from starting a move, Nico pulling at me to switch, and me finishing the move out there is there? It's all still a turn, it's just not two turns like it usually would be.
That… is not technically wrong. I will assist.
Do you mean you're giving a 'Helping Hand'? Zhaleh laughs, Nico doesn't need Darcy's empathy to be able to hear the relief in that laugh.
Unfortunately, I am incapable of learning that move. Giratina admits.
'But you know that move right now, don't you Zhaleh?' Aliahra asks, excited by the prospect.
Nico can also feel her heart race at the possibility. Well if we're doing this, it has to be now! She yells at them, diving through the air at the Pterodactyl. The small amount of damage shown in its health bar is quite annoying. The Staraptor urge to leave a lingering mark, a scar, on this specific creature is strong. And she's not even a Staraptor again yet.
But not strong enough that she doesn't reach for Niran, the strange clapping sound of Zhaleh's Helping Hand being heard but not affecting her. That's another question Aliahra will have that has just been answered.
Nico crashes into Giratina in the Distortion World. A smidge of damage is displayed for a fraction of a second before their health bar disappears. Even in their more offence-orientated Origin Forme, it's slightly disheartening to see how little damage she left on them with her strongest move.
Niran, who's currently in the other world, is falling through the air. A Not very effective came after the Flame Wheel hit. The Helping Hand must have helped because even with that message the attack dealt a nice bit of damage.
It's Rock-type! Darcy calls, rushing and stopping just before the gate. He looks back at her. Well? Ain'cha gonna catch Niran and get us back in dat fight?
Giratina nudges her gently in the direction of the gateway. It only takes a few beats of her wings before she's back out in the cerulean sky, a Pterodactyl rushing at her. The blow hurts and her health is now in the yellow, but Wing Attack chips away at its health a bit more and she deals with the retaliatory bite that takes even more of her health away to climb with a Fly.
Are you ready Darcy?! Nico calls, turning abruptly in the air to start streaking down towards the Pterodactyl. Its yellow health is a promising sign.
Hah, Ah was ready before ya, ya slow bird! Darcy cheers. Zhaleh uses Helping Hand again.
Nico chirps in fond displeasure and reaches for him. She lands on Giratina again, dealing minimal damage. Darcy's Drain Punch hits and almost knocks the Pterodactyl out, but a sliver of red Health remains. They all watch as Darcy tries to Quick Attack the Pterodactyl, but he's falling and incapable of getting any purchase to launch himself at the dinosaur. At least its attack misses in return.
"This is what you get for that comment, Darcy!" Nico calls as she switches in and steals the knockout. The Pterodactyl falls from the sky, defeated. The experience, divided among the four of them it seems, is minimal.
That was not worth the return. Nico mutters, the fading adrenaline rush leaving her wings feeling oddly tired, but they did their job and continued to keep her in the air.
Take us down and I'll get us there then. I should be able to outrun any unwanted fights. Niran tells her. Aliahra backs it up immediately, so Nico really has no reason to fight the order. Not that she wants to.
Wait, where are we goin' again? Darcy asks, panting from the exhilaration of the fight and fall as well as the adrenaline crash.
Watch the Giants fight. How big are Giants anyway? Are they as big as Wailords? Niran asks before barging through the gate and just accepting the fall. A branch is burned away in a controlled flare of Niran's flames.
They tend to be smaller than Wailord is long. Giratina says.
Oh good, afta Laboon an' dose Sea Kings, Ah was worried everythin' would be too big. Darcy sighs in relief, slumping on the ground. Aliahra walks over to him and picks him up, much to his surprise considering how he initially jerks before calming.
Giratina hums in acknowledgement but provides no clear response to Darcy's statement. They hum again in approval as Aliahra goes back to them and climbs onto their back.
Zhaleh flexes one of his paws as Niran darts away from a Triceratops. The dinosaur looks a little like Bastiodon, she wonders if it's either Steel or Rock. Terra sits next to Zhaleh, forcing him to lie down by pinning him to the ground with his head. Zhaleh huffs at the Turtwig for using him as an oversized pillow but accepts his new position anyway.
Considering how much bigger Zhaleh is compared to Terra at the moment, it's a very hilarious sight.
Nico had just barely started smirking when Aliahra reaches up and grabs her by the beak. She lets out an affronted, muffled squark but her stare clearly instructs her to leave Zhaleh be. Which is a shame considering this is the best teasing opportunity she's had with him in a while.
Oh well, she'll have opportunities in the future anyway. She eyes Darcy, who's resting in one of Aliahra's arms and looking almost as young as a human his age would be. Her beak is tapped and Aliahra raises an eyebrow.
She fluffs up and turns away. "Killjoy." She remarks quietly, a smile hidden.
"So, Pokémon can learn moves by levelling up, from Technical Machines, and from Move Tutors," Aliahra repeats aloud, committing it to memory.
Darcy scoffs. "Ah don' see how we can get TMs or meet any Move Tutors in dis world."
Giratina hums lowly in agreement. Aliahra can tell from how they narrow their eyes that they're angered by that fact too. This means they'll be trying to figure out how to fix this issue. That's good for future them, but it doesn't really fix the issue that everyone's move sets are limited at the moment.
"Do you know what moves everyone learns from Levelling up?" Aliahra asks, scratching Darcy behind one of his ears. The calmness and happiness that radiates from him to her from the action are really nice.
"I do." Giratina states and doesn't continue. Both Aliahra and Darcy glare at them for that non-elaborative answer. They continue. "Nico does not learn any moves that are super effective against Flying-types from Level up. In fact, she would not be able to learn any super-effective moves from Technical Machines or Move Tutors regardless."
That means switching in mid-air and risking the fall every time is the only solution they have against Flying-types stronger than Nico. Aliahra pets Darcy a little more aggressively and his own aggravation is combined with a bit of amusement at her actions.
"So, my move pool is limited. Big deal, we don't have to fight in the sky often anyway." Nico says from her temporary nest in Giratina's crown.
"If we travel by water, we get attacked. If we travel by air, we get attacked. Walking through tall grass, wandering through a cave, running through a forest," she gestures out where Niran is now running away from another higher-level dinosaur. A Pachyrhinosaurus that, judging by Nico's statement, is like the Triceratops of before; it looks like the Pokémon Bastiodon.
Aliahra wonders if one might be Rock while the other is Steel. She brushes the thought aside; it isn't really relevant at the moment.
"I'm just trying to figure out how to make every avenue of travel as safe as possible." She admits before losing herself for a few moments in enjoying the feel of Darcy's fur. The short fur is actually really soft if it's patted along the lines the hair naturally grows. There's a word for it, but she doesn't know it right now.
From how easily I'm outrunning everything, we're good on land. Niran says, bursting out of the forest into a small clearing, the sky finally visible again. He slows to a stop, getting his bearings and listening for any signs of the battle between giants. Just before he jumps above the tree line to get a proper view of the surroundings, three dinosaurs fly out of the tree he recently passed under.
Dimorphodon Lv 14, Dimorphodon Lv 16, Dimorphodon Lv 15
They're smaller than the Pterodactyl from before but bare a great resemblance to the creature. The fact that the three of them decided to battle Niran all at once is a surprise.
"They must operate in flocks and groups like Starly and Staravia," Nico says as Niran tries to run from the group but can't this time. Two pecks at him and the other scratches with its talons.
The pecks did more damage than the scratch, even though the move is weaker than the latter. Aliahra jolts forward and Darcy, detecting her sudden action, jumps up onto her shoulder and out of the way so he doesn't end up crushed between her lap and torso.
"They're Flying-type! Dragon-Flying!" She exclaims.
Nice to know but that doesn't help! Niran yelps, attempting to run again and just getting pecked and scratched at. He has one opportunity to attack left before the three knock him out with their next attacks.
He'd only be able to attack one though. None of his moves can hit more than one opponent, nor are they super effective against the Dragon-Flying type.
Actually, none of her Pokémon have moves that are super effective against Dragon-Flying. Fairy and Rock would have been 2 times effective but if they had Ice, it would have been almost guaranteed to OHKO. Both Dragon and Flying are weak to ice, giving the dual type combination a 4 times weakness to ice.
Since super-effective moves aren't available, spread moves would be best. Terra's Razor Leaf and Zhaleh's Surf are the only moves that can hit multiple targets, but both moves are resisted by the dinosaurs' Dragon-typing. Since the opponents are Flying and Grass is weak to the type and also not very effective though…
"Zhaleh, switch in and Surf!" The Vaporeon jolts and answers the call, Terra giving him an encouraging nudge after releasing him from his fate as a pillow.
Niran's back with them and the clearing in the forest is suddenly flooded with water. The attack really doesn't do as much damage as she hoped, the grass and trees breaking and absorbing some of the attack's power.
"Water effects!" Terra exclaims, rushing to the gate.
Aliahra gets what he means. Underwater or on the Water Surface, Zhaleh's Water attacks deal more damage but Niran's Fire attacks would do a lot less. In this forest setting, the Grass affiliated surroundings are negating Zhaleh's Water-type attacks. This means Terra's Grass Attacks may deal more damage than usual. Although that means measuring the damage boost and reduction is something to do in the future.
Zhaleh doesn't protest but lingers long enough to receive the attacks of the three barely damaged Dimorphodons. That, while looking confused on how their prey has transformed again and on just where all the water Zhaleh drew from somewhere – maybe the surroundings? Perhaps he drew the water from the plants and the now sudden lack of it meant it had been reabsorbed without consequence to the environment – but remains focused on their opponent.
Terra's out and razor-sharp leaves from his back and the surrounding trees slash out at the three Dimorphodons. The attack does a lot more damage than Zhaleh's Surf, bringing two of them down to half health. The Lv 14 one is crit though and has just barely reached the red zone on its health bar.
Giratina shifts, "the surroundings have activated Terra's ability."
"Overgrow, right? I thought it only activates if he has less than 30% health, like that Lv 14 dino." Aliahra asks. The health turns red when there's less than 30% health left, and yellow when there's less than 50%, or at least roughly those amounts. She basically just knew that if Terra is in the Red, then his ability should be active.
I can feel the power boost from Overgrow. Terra says, confirming Gira's observation. And the surroundings themselves are just boosting my Grass attacks further.
Aliahra frowns. "So does every field we fight in have different effects on our fights? Aigo, how much experimentation and fights are we going to have to go through to figure it all out?"
"It's a little exciting though, right?" Niran says, shifting in place. "The finding it out bit, I mean. I wonder how a forest would react to me using a fire-type move."
Zhaleh shoots a look over. "You just want to see if the forest will burn!"
Aliahra looks over at the forest field. "Well…" she starts, looking as eager as Niran.
Zhaleh lets out a betrayed cry while Nico and Darcy start laughing. Giratina stiffens and then sighs. "Very well, you can try discovering how the battlefields will affect the fight."
Niran cheers but a message of experience gained brings their attention back to Terra and the fight. The Lv 14 Dimorphodon has been knocked out and the remaining Lv 15 and Lv 16 Dimorphodons are looking very sorry for themselves as they strike back.
One dealt some good damage with a Wing Attack and the other some decent damage with a Peck. They have Terra's physical defences to thank for the fact that he is still conscious to land that second Razor Leaf. The strident music that accompanies the red appearance of red health is seriously nerve-racking. Giratina looks entirely too proud of that.
It seems Overgrow doesn't activate again if I get into its normal range. Terra says. Someone else can fight, please!
Niran's rushing back out without another word. Terra and the rest of them breathe a sigh of relief once the Turtwig's out of the fight.
A Flame Wheel connects with the Lv 15 Dimorphodon, knocking it out but judging by how slow the health seemed to go down, it was only barely and entirely thanks to the previous damage. The surroundings remain the same.
A smack of a wing brings Niran into the red, but a Quick Attack takes out the remaining Dimorphodon before it can hit again. There's no Not very effective message with that blow, unlike every other attack from their side in that fight.
Terra, Niran, and Zhaleh get experience from that battle, but the only one to level up is the Vaporeon. Niran almost gets there, and Terra is just barely less than halfway to the next level and his evolution.
Zhaleh grew to level 15. Zhaleh wants to learn Baby-doll Eyes, what do you want to forget?
While Zhaleh cheers at being level 15, equal to Darcy and Nico, the Pokémon all blink at the move.
"I… have never heard of that move." Terra speaks.
Aliahra blinks at them for their surprise before turning to Giratina.
"So, what does this move do exactly? Its name makes it sound like a Status Move." She asks.
"It is." Giratina says, "It is a priority Fairy-type move that decreases the Attack of your target."
Zhaleh, stopping his cheering for the moment, looks over. "So, it's Quick Attack but instead of dealing damage, it lowers attack? Got it."
Nico looks over at him, "Wouldn't Growl but with priority make a better likeness?"
"Nah, Gira said target. Growl hits more than one opponent." Zhaleh paw-waves.
"Well, we're not losing Surf," Aliahra retorts, speaking now to put a stop to any potential argument between the two. Before continuing she rolls her eyes, "and we just figured out how Helping Hand can be helpful. Sand Attack is good and so will Baby-doll Eyes. Forget Tackle."
The momentary debacle with the new move dealt with; Niran decides to look at the tree the three Dimorphodons came from. He can't really climb a tree though, and Darcy rises to the challenge and beats out Nico who's doing a chirping equivalent to huffing and is saying that she could just fly.
"Unova is the region that has Triple battles and the like, right?" Aliahra asks, as they all ignore Nico's complaints and watch as Darcy climbs a tree.
Yes, along with Rotation battles. The switching strategy Niran proposed is a lot like that of switching the lead Pokemon in a Rotation Battle. Of course, in a Rotation battle, only one Pokemon is allowed to use a move. Zhaleh using Helping Hand would be an illegal move in any competition. Giratina replies.
Zhaleh grins, "well, it's not like I could use the move any other time. We can't do Double Battles or even Triple battles." The smile on his face faded away at the start of the second sentence.
Eh, that doesn't bother me too much. I never really did Double Battles anyway. Darcy said, vaulting up onto a lower tree branch from the trunk. He then jumps up and grabs onto a higher branch, pulling himself up.
"It'll affect you when you're facing down two enemies by yourself with no one beside you!" Zhaleh snaps.
Darcy raises an unimpressed eyebrow and suddenly the Vaporeon is left stranded on a tree branch, near the top of a tree. Zhaleh yelps and almost falls down in shock but holds on in time to not erase Darcy's earlier efforts.
Darcy returns the branch, laughing, and continues his climb. Zhaleh fumes in the Distortion world until Terra, tired and bruised, appropriates him into being his pillow again. Or actually a mattress this time.
"While looking for those giants, see if you can see if there are some bodies of water on the way. Terra and Zhaleh could use some healing." Aliahra calls out to Darcy, he nods in acknowledgement and jumps up onto another tree branch. There's an abandoned nest on this one. The structure looks like it could fall apart at any second, but Darcy frowns and climbs into it anyway, seemingly drawn to it.
A purplish-grey disk with an orange sheen rests in the centre of the nest and all the Pokémon look at it in amazement while Giratina preens. Aliahra just looks confused between them all.
Carefully, Darcy traverses the nest and gets a hold of the disk. Pulling it out of the nest causes the structure to break away in halves, each side falling off the sides of the branch. Nico sweeps in and carries them out and she stops atop the tree line, low enough that the Pterodactyls and small flocks of the smaller Dimorphodons higher above ignore her.
Darcy turns the disk around in his hands before letting out a bereaved groan. "Dragon Claw?!" He shouts, glaring at Giratina. "Ya couldn' 'ave gotten a TM one of us could actually learn?"
Giratina stares impassively down at the Riolu, the difference in their sizes and appearances becoming starkly apparent. Darcy notices and sags, still angry but accepting that he shouldn't yell at Giratina.
Aliahra picks Darcy up and inspects the Technical Machine now in their possession. "Can no one really learn this move?"
Giratina confirms it. "The only one among us that could learn it is myself."
Darcy stares fiercely at him again. "If ya were testing it out wid a move ya could learn den Dragon Pulse could have worked too. Ah can actually learn dat move too." He mutters into Aliahra's shoulder but Giratina hears it anyway.
"You will learn that move at Level 52 regardless." Giratina dismisses.
The Pokémon all stiffen at that number.
That's the level we were at before we came here. Terra says for them all.
Giratina raises an eye ridge. "And do you believe that is the Level you will be at the end of this journey? To reach the end of the Grand Line, you will be at a higher level than you ever were before."
Zhaleh perks up at that. Then everyone perks up at the sound of a distant explosion.
"Whelp, let's go there!" Aliahra cheers.
Darcy looks up at her. "Nami was right, ya are battle hungry."
Aliahra looks down at him and smiles while shrugging. "Maybe a little. It's stressful but fun. Especially winning."
They all concur with that. How can winning not be fun after all?
Niran is the one to run, but whenever he gets into a fight he can't easily run from, Nico comes in and just flies out of reach until it's safe for Niran to run again. It lets them keep an eye out for where they're going, and eventually, Nico does spot something unnatural peaking above the tree line.
They come to a stop and Aliahra is the one to peek out into the clearing from the treeline. A human girl is less obvious about fighting styles than the Pokemon. It's pretty obvious how they fight. A plant turtle? Slow, defensively bulky. Likely has power over plants. An intimidating bird? Fast, offensive. Capable of flight, duh. Fire horse? Again fast, but this time with power over fire. Aquatic cat-dog-like creature? The mesh of species that live in different terrains means it likely won't be fast. And in a world with Fishmen and merfolk, water control might not be too surprising.
Actually, Darcy might be a bit ambiguous too. What with him being a bipedal dog. But the sudden size changes from transformations mean Aliahra's height is an advantage. People don't tend to aim for legs that much.
However, while Aliahra is getting a good view of everything in the clearing. One unconscious giant and another bound down in some white substance – wax, think of it as steel – was obvious but not what caused the sudden switch.
No, the tall wax structure that has Zoro, Nami, and Vivi trapped and slowly turning white themselves is what caused the sudden switch.
Darcy ran out into the clearing before she even had the chance to find the enemy.
Darcy knew he wasn't thinking rationally. Not entirely at least.
It started off at least a bit rationally. If the wax was Steel-type then Fighting beats it. The structure was already on fire, and that looked to be the cause of the flaking bit coming off and moulding onto Zoro, Nami and Vivi. So Niran probably shouldn't be their first go-to for fixing this issue. Also, if the enemy was close by, then maybe Aliahra shouldn't be the one out.
So yeah, he had started off thinking rationally as he made the switch. But then he felt it. That emotion. He never felt it before, but that didn't mean he didn't know what it was.
Zoro had accepted death.
Maybe if it was one of the other Straw Hats he wouldn't have freaked out so much and rushed into the clearing, getting the attention of the man with a 3 on his head and a girl with a smeargle's tail in her hand. But even he knew he still would have been affected anyway. It just wouldn't have been to the same extent.
"Ya not allowed ta die!" He yells rushing towards the wax statue, a wave of wax rushing towards him.
He wouldn't be able to reach it. He's a physical attacker, he doesn't have any special attacks that could make the distance he couldn't. Sure, there were ranged physical attacks like Terra's Razor Leaf, but it's not like he had access to those moves.
Niran tries to switch but Darcy resists, shoving him back. It would have been smarter to let him make the switch. He could dodge the wave of sludge-like wax. But he wasn't thinking tactically.
Zoro was right there. He could reach him, he could save him.
Instincts and muscle memory made him try it. Aura Manipulation. If he could use Aura Sphere, then he could knock down the top of the candle statue. Zoro would be safe then.
But he was a Riolu, and Riolu can't use Aura Manipulation. They can't learn Aura Sphere.
Darcy wasn't always a Riolu though. He was a Lucario. He could use Aura Sphere and has used it hundreds of times. He can feel it. But it just won't materialise.
Miss Goldenweek, Lv 20.
She crouches between him and his destination. Her emotions are dulled, but he could still read her intent. She plans to paint a symbol on the ground to change his allegiance.
~Betrayal Black~
She's a human child, so she wouldn't have great base stats even though she is five levels higher than him. It was all too easy to sidestep the symbol hidden under the grass and deliver a Drain Punch straight into her gut.
Super Effective. Her health went into the red, hanging on by the tiniest sliver.
The wave of wax was nearly upon him, the shadow of it blocking out the sun. He Quick Attacked Goldenweek, knocking her out.
Darcy grew to level 16. Darcy wants to learn Work Up, what do you want to forget?
Darcy doesn't even get an input as Foresight is forgotten. The move that let him hit a Logia Devil Fruit user is gone for a set-up move that can boost both his attack and special attack by one stage.
But Aliahra wasn't being stupid, he feels it.
Darcy is Evolving. He wants to learn Aura Sphere, what do you want to forget?
It was Quick Attack Aliahra has him forget. His mum would have had him forget Detect. Aliahra's going to be a different sort of trainer, he's curious and almost excited.
A Detect allows him to evade the wax wave as the clearing got blinded by an Evolution. The speed boost from evolving means no one gets the chance to move as he forms an Aura Sphere. The boost to his special attack meant the attack took the top half of the Candleabra off in one shot.
~Huh, so that's evolution.~
~What kind of attack was that?!~
~A Jackle? Darcy is a Jackle? How did I not see it before!~
~What was that? What is that creature and how did it take down my Candleabra like that?!~
~So small, yet powerful.~
Mr 3, Lv 25. [Steel]
The Lucario grins.
"You messed up, mate." He says, walking towards the shocked-still Baroque Works Agent. Feeling the shock about to come to an end, he tries something. He feeds back Mr 3's diminishing shock back into him. He remains shocked enough that Darcy can walk over the drying wax without being attacked by it.
He's on the grass by the time Mr 3 gets a hold of his own emotions enough to think again.
~What on- Nevermind-~ "What are you? How did you change-?" He stops speaking. ~It must be a Devil Fruit-~
"It's not a Devil Fruit!" Darcy says, almost singing it in his giddiness. Mr 3 flinches, knowing he did not say his thought aloud. Confusion and a bit of fear pulse off him. He finally uses a move in response to Darcy's earlier start of the turn.
Perhaps it's stupid to wait for Mr 3, who is almost ten levels stronger than him, to continue the fight instead of attacking him again straight away, but Darcy grew up on a specific structure of battles, of honour-bound rules and fairness.
If Darcy was a Dark-type, then he would have attacked without mercy. But he isn't, so he waited. But it isn't like he couldn't afford the luxury of playing by his own rules instead of another's.
An Aura Sphere forms in his paws. 'I can't take him out alone. Zhaleh, be ready.'
It was a lisp! This whole time! Zhaleh laughs but Darcy can feel his brother's bloodlust and excitement. He's ready.
Lucario is telepathic. I now have to consider what everyone is thinking when I'm writing Darcy. Joy.
Well, early Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I'll try to get the next chapter done by the next update date but I have a potential work vocation thing this December so dunno if I'll get the chance to read the relevant One Piece chapters, figure out what's going to happen, and write it all.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Thanks for reading :D
