Chapter 6: Spinner's End. A fresh start. Meeting that special someone!
I don't own the Harry Potter verse. Just playing.
Summary: A twist at the end of Harry's first trip to Diagon Alley with Hagrid. As they approach the Leaky Cauldron to leave Diagon Alley, Hagrid decides to present Harry with his gold ticket to the Hogwarts Express, while Harry was really expecting to go directly to Hogwarts with Hagrid now. Harry asks a different question.

During their adventure to harvest the secret ingredients for the Skele-Gro Potion, Harry discovered that Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies actually exist. Though Zombies are call Inferi in the Magical World. But they are just as scary and even deadlier.
Sev had taken Harry to the General Cemetery of Great Hangleton and used a simple transfer hex to extract the bones from two fresh graves of car accident victims, and sent them home with Princess to start the processing.
While they were in the area, Sev wanted to visit an old safe house of the Dark Lord in the old quaint village of Little Hangleton. Sadly they found some leftovers from the Death Eaters.
The old Riddle House stood on a hill overlooking the village, some of its windows boarded, tiles missing from its roof, and ivy spreading unchecked over its face. Once a fine-looking manor, and easily the largest and grandest building for miles around, the Riddle House was now damp, derelict, and unoccupied. Except for a Vampire living in the basement, two werewolves living in the master bedroom and five Inferi roaming the attic.
Sev applied a compulsion hex to the old Riddles' gardener, Frank Bryce, who lived alone in a run-down cottage on the grounds of the Riddle House. Sev sent him to the village pub, the Hanged Man, for a long night of drinking, while he dealt with some unfinished business.
Fortunately, the ancient wand came in very handy with the three charms Sev had taught Harry. The Lumos charm encouraged the upset Vampire and werewolves to go find a new abode, while the overpowered Incendio flame charm quickly burnt the old ruined manor to the ground, and incinerated the Inferi in the attic allowing them to finally be at rest. The ashes were washed away by the Aguamenti Water-Making Charm. The old manor was gone in less than five minutes and the Muggle residents of Little Hangleton wouldn't notice the manor was missing until the light of the next day. They just added that to the strange mysterious things that happened to the Riddle Family.
Sev and Harry walked to the ancient cemetery and found the Angel of Death over the Riddle Family Tomb. During his time with the Dark Lord, Sev learnt of his first victims and some very dark ancient rituals that used the bones of ancestors. He extracted the bones of Tom Riddle's father and grandparents and Harry burnt them to ash and washed them away.
With the old house gone, the Riddle Family Trust that paid the wages of Frank Brice sold the land and used part of the money to buy a cottage by the sea for Frank to live out his remaining days in comfort.

On other evenings, Sev would tell Harry many exciting tales of the adventures of his mother, Lily, both before Hogwarts and the years she was Sev's best friend at Hogwarts. He cheerfully included all things she did to a pompous privilege Pure-blood idiot called James Potter and everything she called him when he annoyed her too much. Harry realised that his father had been as immature as Dudley and was a bit of a bully and a show-off when he was younger, and the toxic rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin didn't help. But Sev did very briefly mention that Potter had saved his life once and Lily had encouraged him to grow up in his last year at Hogwarts as Dumbledore's war became theirs.

One evening Sev decided to test Harry's Natural Occlumency.
Sev explained. "Occlumency was the ability to use magic to shield or close one's mind against the magic of a Legilimency attack by a Legilimens."
"Legilimens?" Harry asked and Hedwig barked. "Oh, whitebeard?"
Sev nodded. "Occlumency is an ancient magic, and could prevent a Legilimens from accessing one's memories, thoughts and feelings, or influencing them."
Harry replied. "I gather that whitebeard is not above using Legilimency to find out your darkest secrets and using them against you."
"No, he is not and it helps him stay one step ahead." Sev replied. "It also gives you a splitting headache if you lock eyes with him."
Harry nodded and Hedwig barked. "I concur, Hedwig, I will be very careful and not look him in the eye."
Sev continued. "Occlumency can be learnt but it is very difficult and takes years, but it helps to sort out your mind and improve your memory and thought processes. The test for Occlumency just happens to be the Legilimency hex and I would warn you to clear your consciousness and raise your mind shields."
"How do I clear my consciousness and raise my mind shields?" Harry asked as Sev triggered his wand into his hand.
"You would need to be trained for that. But you have Natural Occlumency. So let us just test that. Now think of a happy thought but don't tell me, and I will look you in the eye and cast the Legilimency hex to open your mind to see if I can discover that happy thought."
"Okay." Harry said as he thought about how much fun he was having with Sev.
Sev looked deep into those emerald green eyes and pointed his wand at Harry's head. "Legilimency!"
Harry saw Sev stare into his eyes and cast the hex with his wand, and then Sev froze as his eyes went unfocused. Harry didn't feel anything, no headache or pain.
Harry was getting worried after Sev hadn't moved for five minutes. Hedwig barked. "Finite Incantatem? Are you sure Hedwig?"
Hedwig barked.
"Okay." Harry said as he triggered the ancient wand into his left hand, and pointed it at the frozen Sev. He whispered. "Finite Incantatem!"
A warm white light came out of the ancient wand and engulfed Sev. He rocked back as he shook himself awake.
"Sorry, but you froze for five minutes and we, Hedwig and I thought that the general counterspell would cancel your Legilimency hex." Harry explained.
Oh? What? I froze?" A confused Sev questioned.
"Yeah, for five minutes. Is that how Legilimency works?"
"Five minutes?" Sev confirmed. "No, Legilimency only takes seconds if that."
Harry asked. "What did you see in my head?"
"Oh? I saw nothing. It was like a blackness but I felt calm and so peaceful." Sev explained. "What did you feel?"
"Nothing. You looked me in the eye and cast the Legilimency hex and froze immediately." Harry explained. "Is that good?"
"That is amazing, Harry." Sev chuckled. "If we discover the headmaster frozen, we will know he tried to use Legilimency on you."
Hedwig and Louis spat on the floor at the mention of the name.

After their potions master class, one sunny afternoon with clear blue skies, a smiling Sev came up to Harry with a phial in each hand.
"What do you want to be, Harry? A Snowy owl or a White-tailed eagle?"
"Um?"
"Your mother and I had created a potion that she called the Poly-Animagus-Juice Potion, and it can transform you into any animal for an hour. Just add a little DNA and poof."
"My mum?" Harry smiled.
"Yeah, she discovered that your father had become an Animagus. That is the ability to transform into an animal. He could transform into a full grown stag which suited his arrogant attitude to a tee, and so to annoy him she decided to create the Poly-Animagus-Juice Potion and asked for my help." Sev explained.
"Wow! What animal did my mum turn into?" Harry smiled.
"Well, as your father could change into a full grown stag with antlers and all. So your mother decided to become a saber-toothed tiger." Sev replied as he smiled of the memory of the saber-toothed tiger Lily chasing the stag, grim and werewolf around the Forbidden Forest.
"Oh. Aren't they extinct?"
"Not if you know where to look." Sev chuckled. "Anything is available on Owl order."
"Oh! Could I try the Snowy owl?"
Sev handed him the right phial and then drank the other while Harry watched in wonder as Sev transformed down into a White-tailed eagle. Harry drank his phial, it tasted like chicken. He felt himself transform and shrink down. He opened his eyes to see he had wings as Hedwig and Louis cheerfully barked, and carefully led the new Snowy owl Harry outside and demonstrated how to fly. They took flight and Harry proved to be a natural and had a great time flying with Hedwig and Louis while Sev's White-tailed eagle circled high overhead.
Harry flying heritage from both sides showed and he soon flew solo and earnt his wings and graduated from Hedwig's Royal Magical Mail Owl Academy with the rank of Squadron leader. Hedwig was so proud and went on to teach him how to develop Situational Awareness as owls can turn their head in an arc of 270 degrees, and have excellent vision. Then how to spread his feathers to fly silently in stealth mode. How to spot prey and shiny objects at a distance. Then how to dive-bomb straight down at absolute terminal velocity, and pull up at the very last second to pounce on a juicy mouse with razor sharp talons. All skills Harry will put to good use in Quidditch.
When the hour was up and Snowy Owl Harry returned to just Harry, Sev wanted to test Harry's Natural Multi-Animagus ability. He asked Harry to remember what he felt when the Poly-Animagus-Juice Potion changed him into a snowy owl and try to change himself.
Harry focused his magic on being a snowy owl and remembered how the changes felt, and slowly he transformed himself into his Snowy Owl persona. Hedwig and Louis cheerfully barked and Sev cheered with a fist-pump.
"Yes!"
Hedwig declared Harry to be the third Magical Mail Owl Musketeer, while he just smiled as he flew around the labyrinth of Spinner's End and Sev's new garden.
How cool was that!

Another warm clear afternoon, Sev came up to Harry with a phial in each hand.
"What do you want to be, Harry? A Bottlenose dolphin or a Killer Whale?"
"Oh, a Killer Whale, please."
Sev grabbed Harry's hand and apparated to Cardigan Bay on the coast of Wales. They drank their phials as they jumped into the cold Irish Sea, and Harry learnt to swim chasing Sev's dolphin all around for an hour. While two snowy owls circled overhead and barked to the emerald green eye Killer Whale each time he surfaced for air.
Harry was surprised how many shipwrecks were on the bottom of Cardigan Bay, from ancient sailing ships to rusty wrecks from the Second World War, all covered with old ripped fishing nets. He followed Sev's dolphin as they dived through the rotting masts and rusting hulks and big guns that will never fire in anger again.
Hedwig spotted an enormous Blue Whale that was dangerously close to shore, and noticed that she had become entangled in some discarded fishing nets and was struggling to stay alive. Hedwig barked to Killer Whale Harry and told him of the plight of the magnificent creature. He directed Dolphin Sev to go get help from the school of dolphins, while he swam alongside the beautiful exhausted creature and looked her in the eye. His emerald green eyes calmed the enormous mammal and that allowed Killer Whale Harry's sharp teeth to cut away the fishing nets. As each piece floated Hedwig and Louis swooped down and gathered the bits of old fishing net and carried it away to the shore.
Where a group of teenagers had seen the Blue Whale and the rescue attempt. They gathered the bits of fishing net that the owls dropped off and started to clean up the beach. Placing the rubbish in a large dumpster.
Killer Whale Harry chewed through the last bits of the fishing net and the owls removed it from the sea. The Blue Whale was free but exhausted and not out of danger. He started to push the Blue Whale away from shore and into deeper water when Dolphin Sev arrived with the cavalry of dolphins to help.
The teenagers on the clean beach cheered when they saw the Blue Whale was free and the Killer Whale and cavalry of dolphins were helping her to swim away. They will a tale to tell their grandchildren.
The thankful Blue Whale was soon swimming free. In his Killer Whale persona, Harry could understand the Blue Whale speak and he had made a friend for life.
While for Sev, after so many years of miserable desperation, leading a cavalry of dolphins to save the whale helped him feel good about himself. He was trying.

On the Saturday night, Sev came up to Harry with a phial in each hand.
"What do you want to be, Harry? A Tyrannosaurus Rex or a Triceratops?"
"Oh can the potion transform you into a full size dinosaur?" Harry asked.
"Not everyone could do something so big but you are a very powerful wizard, Harry, and your father was a big stag and they can weigh up to a quarter of a ton." Sev explained. "While some lesser Animagus wizards can only transform into something smaller like rats and water beetles."
"Oh?"
"Sadly, given the scale of your power, Dumbledore would have put those blocks on your magical core to restrict your ability to do magic in particular accidental magic, and say it was for your protection. But seeing the injuries you have suffered, it is likely your magic kept you alive, and you released some blocks when you cast that counterspell on your scar." Sev explained. "But fortunately, you are still young enough to recover and be completely healed. Those tonic potions I have given you will help."
"Oh, thank you, Sev."
"Other than that, magic is only limited by your will and imagination." Severus replied. "So, Tyrannosaurus Rex or Triceratops?"
"Oh, okay, a Tyrannosaurus Rex please." Harry didn't want to ask where Sev had got the DNA of a dinosaur from.
Sev grabbed Harry's hand and apparated to the Natural History Museum in London and snuck in. Sev waved his wand and redirected the security cameras to point to the ceiling before they drank their phials, and they turned into life-size dinosaurs for an hour. While two snowy owls circled overhead and laughed at the antics of the giant reptiles.
They had great fun chasing the night watchmen and museum staff plus a group of children who were there for a sleepover called Dino Snores for Kids. A unique sleepover experience for kids aged 7 to 11 and gave them the chance to explore the Museum after dark, while taking part in fun and healthy educational activities like running for your life and how not to be eaten. And best of all the children could dress up as their favourite explorer, archaeologist, adventurer or historical person. Indiana Jones, Napoleon Bonaparte, Duke of Wellington, Blackadder, Lara Croft, and Queen Victoria were very popular.
No one would believe that the emerald green eyed Tyrannosaurus Rex with a dark complexion and red highlights was a real live dinosaur as the children and parents thought that they were just big scary very life-like animatronics movie props. But the museum staff were not so sure as they had never seen them before and were definitely not controlling them. And they had no idea how to get the deep gouges the claws on the feet of the dinosaurs made on the polished stone floor while the building shook with each step they took.
Then there was a certain little girl with a bossy sort of voice, lots of bushy brown hair, rather large front teeth, and dressed as Indiana Jones because he was her favourite professor. Her costume was artistically spot-on with a signature brown leather flight jacket, a rolled up leather bull whip under her left shoulder strap, leather satchel and a cute white fedora hat.
Our adventurous tiny intrepid professor stood in front and stared down the rampaging dinosaurs with a look of disapproval that stopped the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops in their tracks and looking a little bit bashful as she told them that they were being rather silly and should act their age. Which caused the two circling snowy owls to laugh even more. While her mother videotaped the whole encounter with a fancy new Sony Handycam camcorder.
Unfortunately, the little girl with the bossy sort of voice was standing in front of the bashful dinosaurs, waving her finger at them and inadvertently sent some accidental magic straight up the big long nose of Triceratops Sev, which caused him to have a fit of sneezing of Jurassic proportions.
ACHOO! ACHOO! ACHOO!
ACHOO!
ACHOO! ACHOO!
The burst of Accidental magic up the nose had resulted in uncontrollable sneezing and involuntary movement of the big heavy head of the Triceratops and threw him completely off balance and slipping on the polished floor.
Little Indiana Jones froze.
It had happened again!
But now she knew what it was.
Accidental Magic!
But there was still an enormous sneezing Triceratops right in front of her.
Hedwig barked a warning.
T. Rex Harry reacted instantly and quickly reached down to gently pick up the girl and lift her out of the way before slip sliding Triceratops Sev rolled over her.
Then the Tyrannosaurus Rex shoulder-charged the struggling Triceratops to stop him rolling further and helped him to roll back. He finished with a kick in the ribs to help him to roll onto his feet, but unfortunately that caused the Triceratops to have a bad case of Dino flatus, which caused the boys to giggle.
While the Triceratops gave the Tyrannosaurus Rex a withering glare once he was on his feet.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex just poked out his tongue at him, and blew him a raspberry. Given that it was a raspberry blown from a full size mature Tyrannosaurus Rex, it was quite loud, much to the amusement of the children and adults.
Being protected and gently hugged by a forty foot, seven ton, kind, careful, living, breathing Tyrannosaurus Rex with a big heart, was a new experience for the lonely little girl but for a moment the emerald green eyes stared into her honey brown eyes and gave little Indiana a sense of calm, of friendship and bravery, and hope, and.. And of something so much more. She was certain that there was a connection and the start of a beautiful friendship.
A man who looked like he could be little Indiana Jones' father, held up a camera and pointed to Indiana and T. Rex Harry, to indicate he wanted to take a photo of them together. So T. Rex Harry held little Indiana closer to his head and gave a very toothy smile full of wickedly sharp pointy teeth.
While Triceratops Sev just shook his head in the dolefulness of a depressed android.
Seeing the Tyrannosaurus Rex was giving a photo shoot, the other children and parents gathered around to have their photo taken with the friendly Dinosaur. While Little Indiana Jones seemed to be quite content to stay in the comfortable protective arms of her new best friend, T. Rex Harry.
Their hour was almost up and Triceratops Sev signaled that it was time to go by pointing to his left wrist. T. Rex Harry gently placed little Indiana Jones down next to her parents, and waved goodbye as he turned to follow the leaving Triceratops. While the two snowy owls left to fly away home.
Little Indiana noticed a broken piece of claw from the Tyrannosaurus Rex in the deep gouges in the polished stone floor. She picked it up and chased after the escaping Dinosaurs. They turned a corner and she reached it a moment later to see the Tyrannosaurus Rex transform down into a cute boy her age with emerald green eyes and dark hair with red highlights.
Only for a moment before the cute boy vanished into thin air. Just before her parents reached her, and they were left wondering where the two huge dinosaurs had gone.
"He was alive!" Little Indiana whispered.
"What was that dear?" Her mother asked.
"The Tyrannosaurus Rex. He was alive." Little Indiana whispered as she looked into her mother's loving eyes.
Her father looked at his daughter. "But that would be impossible, Hermione, they have been extinct for millions…"
She stopped him as she held up the recently broken piece of Tyrannosaurus Rex toe claw she had found. It was six inches long and looked real and fresh. "That's not a million years old. I felt his heart beat and those emerald green eyes. That was no animatronics movie prop."
"Oh?"
Little Indiana would never tell anyone what else she saw. But she hoped the cute emerald green eyed boy was going to Hogwarts this year. While her parents were hoping their favourite daughter would make a friend that wasn't capable of eating them whole.

Sev teased Harry. "You know your bushy hair bossy little Indiana Jones girlfriend?"
"We're just good friends, Sev." Harry replied.
""Right." Sev said slowly. "You know she is a witch?"
"Yes, I felt something when I looked in her eyes." Harry responded. "Do you think she will be at Hogwarts?"
"She looked your age so that is a good chance." Sev replied. "She reminds me so much of your mother, Lily."
"Oh?"
Hedwig barked.
"You concur, Hedwig?"
"See, Hedwig agrees with me." Sev teased. He needed to get Harry to realise he is worthy to be happy.
Harry took it in good fun after he had mixed in a phial of Poly-Animagus-Juice Potion with the Essence of Bottlenose dolphin, into Sev's Eggs Benedict and he was stuck in the bath tub for an hour.
Later Sev commented to Harry. "So, there appeared to be just a little bit of the good fun side of your father in you after all Harry."
"Oh? What would my mother have done?" Harry wondered.
Sev chuckled. "She turned me into a newt for a day in a house full of snakes and a castle full of cats and owls."
"Wow!" Harry wondered. "What did you do?"
"I foolishly allowed myself to be tricked into a detention and Lily had to go alone to Hogsmeade, a village near the castle, and your father annoyed her all day." Sev replied.
"What did she do to my father?"
Sev chuckled. "Your mother turned James Potter into a newt for a week!"
"Wow!"
"Indeed. Your mother was the most brilliant, kind and loving witch, but one did not cross Lily Evans."
Harry sensed that there was a story there for another time.
