Ike, Titania, and brothers Oscar and Boyd later returned to the fort. Greil, Shinon, Gatrie, as well as Ross and Samantha, had yet to return. The only people in the fort were Ike's little sister Mist, who was busy cooking, Rolf, the younger brother of Oscar and Boyd, and a dark-skinned female lance-wielding Pegasus Knight named Kamaria. Kamaria, who was an old friend of Mist, wanted her to join the Greil Mercenaries seeing how much she was skilled at the lance. However, Kamaria wondered if it was up to Greil first, seeing that he was the one who ran the company.
"It's obviously up to my father, Kamaria." Mist said.
"Couldn't he use a flier on a pegasus for the goddess' sake?" asked Kamaria.
"...It would help. And thank you for bringing it up." Titania said as she walked over to Kamaria and Mist.
"Mist… Is that Kamaria?" asked Ike.
"Ike! Long time no see! What's been up with you?" Kamaria later asked after her little exclamation towards Ike.
"Nothing much, other than the fact that my father welcomed me into the company at last. I told Titania I was a little nervous the night before, but I was feeling better this morning." Ike explained.
"Hah! Always something with you people." said Kamaria. "So, where is the big cheese of the mercenaries?"
"I was just looking for him." A voice said. Then, Ross and Samantha, who had just finished their jobs at the seaport, returned to see the group and meet Kamaria for the first time. Ross was the one looking for Greil.
"Who's this?" asked Samantha after noticing Kamaria. Mist introduced her to Samantha, saying that they go way back to their childhood days. Ross even asked about her backstory.
"To start, I was the first child born to my family in Daein. But that nasty plague killed my parents, and since then, my brother Kito went missing in all of that ruckus." Kamaria explained.
"What?" Mist asked. "You never told me that you had a brother. Unless you did… and I just don't… remember."
"Well, after my parents died from the plague that struck Daein, my brother left for Begnion territory." said Kamaria. "Probably why you haven't seen him before. But it's where he is in the territory that remains a mystery to me."
"So what have you been doing ever since your brother left the family?" asked Titania.
"I've been serving in Gallian territory protecting the laguz changelings from those Daein freaks and protecting villages from bandits." responded Kamaria. Everyone started to understand Kamaria. Then, Greil returned with Shinon and Gatrie.
"So, how was my son's first mercenary job?" asked Greil to Titania.
"He did okay for his first job." Titania said. "He really surprised me a bit when he took out the leader." She later gave Greil the payment they received from the Caldean villagers.
"Really? That much?" asked Greil. "And who's this kid?" Greil later asked when he noticed Kamaria.
"Father, may I introduce Kamaria?" Mist asked. "She's a friend of mine."
"Ah ha, you know each other, I see." Greil said.
"I was requested by Mist to join the company after I had found out from her." Kamaria said. "And I've been searching for my brother Kito too… ever since he went to Begnion."
"I see." Greil said. "Mist, can I see you and Kamaria inside my office for a moment?" he later asked.
"Sure, Father." Mist said. She and Kamaria later followed Greil into the main building where his office was located. Everyone waited for a response.
When Greil stepped outside with Mist and Kamaria, he declared that Kamaria shall join the company in hopes of reuniting with her brother Kito. Kamaria thanked Greil for the understandings.
"You are most welcome, Kamaria." said Greil. "Now, if no one minds, I have another job to take care of. Shinon, Gatrie, you're with me on this one."
"Yes!" Shinon said.
"Can I go too, Greil?" asked Kamaria.
"I don't see why not…" Greil said. "Alright. I can let you go with us to be our personal scout of the skies."
"Yay!" Kamaria said in excitement. She later mounted her pegasus and flew off with Greil, Shinon, and Gatrie. Greil then reminded everyone to not go out on another job until he returned from his assigned one with Shinon, Gatrie, and Kamaria.
"I'll make sure nothing happens." said Titania.
"That's good, Titania." Greil said. "Alright, I'm off."
"I think Kamaria's going to like it here in our humble little company." said Oscar.
"Yeah. I think so too." Ike said.
"Enough chit chat you guys." Titania said. "We've got stables to clean and chores to do in the fort."
"I'm going to pick wildflowers with Rolf." said Mist to Titania.
"Be careful, sister!" Ike reminded Mist.
"Alright, Ike!" Mist exclaimed as she waved goodbye.
Meanwhile, the group of bandits who invaded Caldea wanted payback for what the Greil Mercenaries did to their leader and their group as a whole. Then, hiring another leader was another option for the bandits. So, that's exactly what they did. However, the bandits had a special kind of mission in mind, which was kidnapping some people. One bandit thought that the mercenaries that fought them would be a good kidnapping target for the group. Then, the new leader agreed with him. The kidnapping later began.
Back at the mercenary fort, Rhys, a white robed frail priest, returned to work after being bedridden for about a few weeks. Titania then told him that he should not be working with such a fever if he was still that frail.
"I'll try to get some more rest, if I can." Rhys said.
"No, Rhys." Titania said. "We need a healer." Ike and Boyd later showed up with Oscar, Ross, and Samantha.
"Hey, Rhys, are you feeling any better?" asked Boyd.
"A little bit better." responded Rhys.
"You… were bedridden for so long… what happened?" asked Ross.
"Well, caught a fever, threw up all over the floor, and I've had to get MIst to clean it up." Rhys said. "She's not even going to clean for me anymore.
"Hmph." Ike grunted.
As everyone was still talking to Rhys about what had happened to him, screaming was heard from outside. Wondering if everything was okay, Ike went to check to see what happened.
"Brother! Help me!" Mist shouted.
"You're coming with us for payback!" said the bandit."
"Damn bandits…" said Ike. "You'll frickin' pay for this, you blagards!" Oscar wondered what was the matter.
"Damn! Rolf got taken with Mist!" Boyd exclaimed.
"Eesh… And with how frail I am… eeeesh." said Rhys. "Eesh, indeed." Ike later stepped forward.
"Ike, what are you doing?" asked Oscar.
"I'm chasing after those damn bandits." Ike said.
"No you're not! We'll be confined to the quarters by the big cheese if we disobey the orders." Ross reminded Ike.
"Who cares?!" Ike asked in a question-style exclamation. "Now let's go!" he later exclaimed.
"Eesh…" Ross said.
"Hey, wait for me!" Samantha said. The rescue was just about to start. However, when Titania found out moments later that Ike and the group were gone, she was furious. So furious that she wanted to wait for Commander Greil to return from his job to report to him about what happened. So, she did just that.
