The Forgotten Chieftain's Wife Chapter 22

The proposal Durotan has tasked Garona to deliver about a possible merger is met with mixed reception once everyone is back safely at Stormwind.

Sitting in deep thought and contemplation on his throne, King Llane deduced "He would not ask for this meeting if he thought he could defeat Gul'Dan alone. The Fel must truly terrify him."

"Durotan is scared of nothing," objected Garona, speaking on behalf of the absent chieftains honor.

Openly suspicious, Lothar said "The location. The suddenness of this meeting. Sounds like a trap."

"It is not," argued Garona, urging those around her to see the truth.

"Could be," said Lothar, shooting back.

"It is not," repeated Garona, far more firm this time.

Rolling his eyes, turning towards King Llane for his opinion, Lothar said "What do you think?"

Slowly tapping his fingers on the arms of his throne, King Llane said "It's too good an opportunity to ignore. I think we have no choice. We must stop the Orcs from opening the portal at all costs. Even if it means allying with those who may be our enemy's. We do and will need help."

"And if he's lying," challenged Lothar, shrugging dismissively.

Getting frustrated, Garona said "Orcs do not lie."

"What if he is," presses Lothar.

"There is no honor in it," said Garona, tone of voice stating the reason to be obvious.

"And where is the honor in betraying his own people," countered Lothar, eyes narrowing.

Shaking her head, calmly, Garona said "He's not betraying his people. Durotan is saving them. Durotan is protecting his family and clan. His enemy is the Fel. Gul'Dan is the betrayer."

"This Orc, Durotan, how do you know him," inquired Lady Taria.

"He freed me. And he is loved by his clan," said Garona, softly. "He is a strong chieftain."

Nodding, rising from her seat, Lady Taria said "Strong chief's must earn their clan's trust. If we are to expect you to join us we must earn yours." Lady Taria then withdraws a dagger concealed in her sleeve offering it to Garona. "To defend yourself."

Accepting the gift, inspecting it with a skeptic and doubtful brow, Garona said "With this?"

"Yes," chuckled Lady Taria, amused by Garona's reaction.

King Llane commands "Find the Guardian."

Before the meeting can be dismissed Garona has one more thing to add.

"Before we leave tomorrow there's something else you should know," said Garona.

Arms crossed condescendingly, Lothar said "And what might that be?"

"The Chieftain Durotan is the Orc I've spoken to you about married to Lyanna," admits Garona.

All right now the group has even more incentive to accept this rendezvous. No way they can say no now.

September 11th has come and gone once again. I was very young when it happened. Don't know about all of you, but I certainly was really scared. One minute I was at elementary school in class and the next my parents are pulling me out, taking my little sister and I home. That's when we learned the truth. The Twin Towers we'd see all the time whenever we traveled outside the city limits on road trips would no longer be there. We were stunned when we'd seen them destroyed on TV. Those trips were never the same again just like the lives of millions. In honor for the people that fell that day and to those still struggling to survive from the aftermath I suggest a moment of respective silence. I think we all can use that.

I've been meaning to get back to this one for a while and only now I've managed to find time and inspiration for it. I'm very satisfied and happy about it.

Big time heads up! Article 13 is on the move again. Our freedom of speech is seriously on the line. Find a legitimate petition that is fighting this decision and sign onto it. Every signature counts to keep what we love alive.

I have other grand news! I was a patron at New York Comic Con! Ah! I'd been dying to go for years and now I had the opportunity. The Jokers from Impractical Jokers have been here along with Tom Hiddleston and so many others. Over those few days I actually got my picture taken with a couple of other actors/actresses and some really great panels. It really is so exciting there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I was going to waste a single second of it. No one ever should with something like this. Ever! ;D

For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance.
