Chapter 66: Searing Flames
Blair trudged her way back to the locker room, disappointed in herself for letting that happen. Her friends were there, ready to comfort her.
"Hey Blair, cheer up! You almost had her!"
"Yeah, you were amazing! I never would've been able to get as close to winning as you did."
Blair sniffed, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Thanks, guys."

Jaden gave his friends a thumbs up before making his way to the stadium.
When he reached the duel field, he found Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi waiting for him.
"So, you're my opponent? I'll enjoy crushing you."
"Don't count me out yet! I might just surprise you."
"We shall see."

"I'll start things off with Elemental Hero Stratos in attack mode! And I'll use his effect to add Elemental Hero Prisma to my hand. I'll set two cards face down and end my turn."
"Humph, not a terrible start, I suppose. I'll start with UFO Turtle in attack mode. Next, I'll set three cards face down and end my turn."
"Whoopsie, did you forget my Stratos is stronger? Well, too late now! First, I summon Elemental Hero Prisma (1700/1100) in attack mode! And I'll activate his effect. First, I reveal my Elemental Hero Dark Neos in my Fusion deck, I can send Neos from my deck and have Prisma be counted as him for the turn. Now Stratos, attack his Turtle!""Not so fast, I activate Begone, Knave! I hope you weren't too attached to that monster."
"Aw, man."
Jaden groaned as his Stratos returned to his hand immediately after his attack was finished.

"And thanks to my Turtle's effect, I can bring out a second one."
"I end my turn there."
"And before you do, I activate my Solemn Wishes! Now whenever I draw a card, I gain 500 life points."

"Next, I activate Metal Reflect Slime (0/3000)!"
"Huh? Why would you do that?"
"Because to summon my strongest card, I need to tribute three face up trap cards."
"Three trap cards? No, not that!"
"Yes! Say hello to Uria, Lord of Searing Flames (0/0)!"
Jaden could only stare in fear as the twisted copy of Slifer the Sky Dragon erupted onto the field in a huge plume of fire.
"Are you crazy! That card has the power to destroy the world!"
"Pah, only if you're weak willed like you! I've tamed this beast, and made it my servant. It might be a little weaker, but he still has enough power to destroy you! And given your reaction, I'm sure you're already aware of his effects, like how he gains 1000 attack points for every continuous trap card in my graveyard (0-3000)! And I'll use his second effect to destroy your face down on the right!"
Jaden cringed, the heat of Uria's flames bearing down on him as his trap burned to ash.
"The joke's on you, that was my Hero Medal! And when its destroyed, I get to shuffle it into my deck and draw a new card."
"It doesn't matter, because you're about to be in for a world of hurt! I summon Flame Ruler in attack mode. Now Uria, destroy his Prisma!"
The Pyro type let loose a torrent of flames, melting Prisma into slag.

"Now my monsters, attack him directly!

"Had enough yet?"
"Not even close! Go, Damage Condenser! By discarding one card, I can special summon Elemental Hero Bladedge!"
"I end my turn there. Give up now, and spare yourself the humiliation!"
"Fat chance! I activate the spell card O-Oversoul! This lets me summon Elemental Hero Neos from my graveyard. Next, I summon Neo-Spacian Black Panther (1000/500)! Now Neoss and Panther will contact fuse to create Elemental Hero Dark Neos (2500/2000)!"
"You're kidding, right? My Uria is still stronger."
"'Did I say I was done? Dark Neos's effect activates! Now your Uria loses his effect,and with it his power boost!"
"What?!"
A dark aura emitting off of Jaden's fusion monster enveloped Uria, stealing his effects and attack points (3000-0).
"Now Dark Neos, attack Uria!"
The dark hero leapt, slashing Uria clean in half with his claws.

"Now Bladedge, attack his Flame Ruler!"
HKT: 4500
"And don't think I'm done just yet, because I activate Contact Out! This returns Dark Neos to my fusion deck and brings back his materials! Elemental Hero Neos, attack his UFO Turtle!"

The moment one Turtle was destroyed, the last one took its place.
"I'll end my turn there. Your move."
The spirit monster drew his card, hoping for a way out, only to be disappointed.
"I summon Spirit Reaper in defense mode, and switch UFO Turtle to defense mode. I end my turn."
"Alright, time to win this duel! First, I activate H-Heated Heart, giving Neos 500 more attack and the ability to deal piercing damage. Bladedge, attack UFO Turtle!"

"Now Neos, attack his Spirit Reaper!"
Neos ran across the field and began to pummel the zombie. Even though it didn't destroy it, his duelist still took damage, more than enough to finish him off.

"That's game!"
