Chapter 70: Chilling Out With the Crew in the Graveyard

Syrus stepped onto the duel field, ready to meet his opponent. To his disgust, it was the zombie monster II Blud.

"Aw man, why do I always get stuck with the ugly ones?"

"Scared? Good, that means it'll be easier to beat you."

GAME ON!

II Blud: 8000

Syrus: 8000

"Winners first. And to start, I'll activate the spell card Call of the Mummy! This lets me summon myself straight from the hand (2100/800)! And now I summon myself again so that I can activate my effect. Now I can summon a zombie monster from my hand or the graveyard, so come on out Vampire Lord! Lastly, I'll set one card face down and end my turn."

"Alright then, my turn! And to start, I play Power Bond! Now my Steamroid and Gyroid fuse together to create Steam Gyroid (2200-4400)! Next, I summon Drillroid in attack mode. Steam Gyroid, rip his II Blud to shreds!"

The helicopter/steam train hybrid charged, using its blades to cut the zombie to ribbons. Due to its effect, Vampire Lord crumpled to dust.

II Blud: 5700

"Now I activate De-Fusion! Now I have three monsters ready to attack your life points!

"Not if I activate Call of the Haunted! This brings back myself."

"Fine then, Steamroid attack II Blud (1800-2300)!"

II Blud: 5500

"Now Drillroid and Gyroid, attack directly!"

II Blud: 2900

"Oh yeah, who's the man? I'll set two cards face down and end my turn."

"Don't get cocky! I'll begin by using Call of the Mummy to bring out Lich Lord, King of the Underworld (2400/1200). Next, I activate Smashing Ground!"

Syrus cringed as his drillroid was smashed to bits.

"Next, I'll activate the spell card Book of Life! Say goodbye to your Drillroid and hello to II Blud once more! And I'll summon myself again so that I can activate his effect. Welcome back, Vampire Lord! And if you thought I was done, think again! I activate Brain Control, letting me steal your Steamroid!"

II Blud: 2100

"Oh, this is going to suck."

"For you! Lich Lord, show that puny helicopter who's boss!

Syrus: 6600

"You too, Steamroid!"

"I activate Supercharge, so now I get to draw 2 cards."

"So what? You're still going to be left without any monsters!"

Syrus: 5300

"Now Vampire Lord, II Blud, attack him directly!"

Syrus: 1200

"And due to Vampire Lord's effect, You need to send a monster from your deck to the graveyard!"

Syrus sighed, sending Submarineroid.

"I've done enough damage to you, so I'll end my turn. Have you given up hope yet?"

Syrus was about to answer when he saw what card he had drawn.

"Not yet! I tribute Steamroid to Machine King (2200-2300/2000) in attack mode! Next, I activate Soul Release, allowing me to remove from play the three roids in my graveyard."

"Why on earth would you do that?"

"Because of my trap card, Return from the Different Dimension! By paying half of my life points, I get to bring all of them back, plus Drillroid!"

Syrus: 600

"And don't forget, Machine King gets 100 attack points for every Machine on the field (2300-2700).

"This can't be happening!"

"Oh, but it is. Steamroid, Attack II Blud!"

The steam train charged, running over the zombie and turning it into gore beneath its wheels. With their reviver gone, Vampire Lord disappeared as well.

II Blud: 1900

"Now Machine King, attack Lich Lord!"

The royal machine launched its fist into the undead monster, smashing it to the bits.

II Blud: 1600

"Now Drillroid, end this!"

Despite his best efforts to run away, the lumbering zombie could only stare in horror as the animated drill ran towards him, jabbing him with its drills and knocking it off of the duel arena.

II Blud: 0000

"That's game!"
