What's up, everybody? 3rd dragneel, coming back with the finale of the Eisenwald arc! I know some people have been dying for this arc to end, me especially since I have a LOT more planned for this story. This arc isn't bad by any means, but it is a bit slow, hence why this chapter will be much longer than the past few ones.
I hope you guys are doing well with quarantine, especially since some places in California are starting to open up. However, I won't keep my hopes up.
But enough about that, ONTO THE REVIEWS!
Omni warrior: Honestly, this season of Death Battle has been a mixed bag for me. Esdeath vs Gray and Black Canary vs Sindel were good, but everything else…. Eh. Hopefully, it picks up.
DB-20: I know, right? Maybe I'll add a lot more references from other series and hopefully you guys can notice them.
Golbez4: Whoops, sorry. I guess since both series were made by the same creator, I mixed up the names. Thanks for pointing it out!
TheFreezerStreets: Oh, then you'll LOVE this freaking chapter.
TheEmeraldMage: Hey, Sputter and Flare are freaking adorable. How else would you expect Lucy to react? We'll definitely see a lot more of Natsu and Joker's rivalry, as well as a few I think you'll enjoy(hopefully).
Mastergamer14: Eh, I'll consider RWBY.
Fpinheiro96: I think you'll enjoy this chapter.
Guest: Thanks for standing up for me, but I think this troll will leave me alone for now.
BanRedfox: Lol, glad I made your day with this joke. Since I only saw season 1 of Fire Force and haven't read much of the manga, that's the timeline Maki is from. And yeah, beauty + brawn = piles of bodies. LOTS of bodies. I wish there were more good Fairy Tail x Black Clover stories since they are a perfect fit for a crossover.
Kamen Rider W: Okay, I might not have FULLY seen the last scene of 5ds, I know what happens, so don't worry about that.
SliferTheSkyDragonKing: I'm a neat freak when it comes to stories, especially since I'm a film and television major who wants to work in the industry. I just love stories that have good action without making the characters too overpowered.
To recap: The battle within Oniba station burned up as Team Natsu and the two Champions battled the members of Eisenwald, with Natsu, Yusei and Gray running off to catch Erigor. Erza, Maki, Lucy and Happy, despite being outnumbered, handled a large majority of the rogue wizards, though because she used too much magic, the former was left weakened. Meanwhile, Natsu and the guys split up, only for Joker to appear out of nowhere and push the Dragon Slayer to his limits, only stopping when Lucy and Happy appeared. Gray was battling one of the Eisenwald members and found out that Erigor's true plans were to trap them in the station while he went to Clover in order to kill all the Guildmasters.
How will our heroes be able to escape and stop the Grim Reaper of Eisenwald? Let's find out…
'Outside Oniba Station'
The citizens of Oniba Station looked on in horror as the wind barrier Erigor created continued to swirl over the train station, pushing away anyone who would get in the way.
"Oh my god, what is that?"
"C-Could that be from those rogue wizards?"
"Maybe. Let's just stay back."
As the people conversed with one another, a certain pair of female warriors were staring at the barrier with frowns on their faces.
"There must be a way through this." Erza said out loud with a hint of frustration in her voice. Summoning a sword with her good hand, the Titania thrusted it towards the tornado…
*SNAP*
Only for the weapon to shatter into pieces, the sharpnel falling on the ground.
"Well, it was worth a try." Maki said with a deep frown. "There might be a way we could go through if we ask-"
"HEY!" The two beauties turned their heads as Lucy, Happy and Gray began running towards them.
"Lucy! Happy! Gray!" Maki said in a happy tone before she noticed Lucy holding her shoulder, blood stains on the side of her orange tank top.
"Are you okay?" Erza asked with some concern in her voice. "And where is Natsu and Yusei?"
"I'm fine. It's just a scratch." Lucy said with a forced smile, though she did wince slightly. "Natsu, Gray and Yusei decided to split up. We met up with Natsu, but he was fighting Joker." Maki's eyes widened at the news. "He said he wanted to make sure Yusei was alright, so he told us to go on without him."
"Woah, he actually made a tornado to keep us in here!" Happy commented while taking in the sight of the large tornado around them.
"Erza, Maki. We have some bad news." Gray spoke up with a serious tone. "It turns out Erigor wanted to trap us in here so he could go to the Guildmasters-"
"And use Lullaby to kill them." Erza finished, getting a surprised look from the ice make wizard. "Me and Maki already concluded that that was his plan. But now the question is how do we break through the barrier?"
"There might be a way." Lucy spoke up, getting their attention. "Gray talked to one of the members and they said a guy named Kageyama can dispell anything. That's how they were able to free Lullaby in the first place."
"I see. Then we must find him before it's too late." Erza said in a stoic tone. "Maki and Gray. You two go search for Kageyama, as well as Natsu and Yusei. With any luck, we'll be free to pursue Erigor before he can use Lullaby. Lucy, Happy and I will tie up the rest of the Eisenwald Guild so the Rune Knights may take them away when this is done. Any questions?" No one spoke up, getting a nod from Erza. "Good. Let's go!"
And with that, the group split up yet again, hoping to find Kageyama before it was too late.
'With Yusei'
*BOOM*
The Head Signer grunted as he rolled on the ground, dodging another one of Kageyama's Knuckle Shadow fists before they could have the chance to hit him. "That's right, fly. Keep running away. It'll make crushing you even better!" Kageyama called out before launching even more shadow fists.
'I have to act fast!' Yusei thought before he drew the top card of his deck, looking at it before smiling. "I activate the trap, Spirit Force!" Just as the shadow fists were about to hit Yusei, a burst of white energy appeared around him, causing the attack to fade away.
"Huh. That's a neat trick you got there." Kageyama admitted before he smirked. "Too bad it won't be enough to stop Erigor."
"We don't have to keep fighting." Yusei reasoned while standing up, looking at the shadow magic user with a serious expression. "Just tell me where Erigor is and walk away."
"Tch, really? You think a speech about friendship will be enough to make me stop? You must really be desperate to end this." Kageyama said while nonchalantly waving his hand before he smirked. "Then again, I'd be stressed if I was on the clock."
"What do you mean by that?" Yusei questioned, his expression hardening a bit more.
"Not important. What IS important is that I knock out. Permanently." Kageyama said as he kneeled down to touch the floor, causing a magic circle to appear under him. "Snake Shadow!" A barrage of snake-shaped shadows shout out the ground, heading straight towards Yusei. The Satellite Shooting Star narrowed his eyes before he drew his next card. However, he was too late as the snakes all showered him with bites, making Kageyama smirk.
Unfortunately… they bit the wrong target.
"Huh?!" Rather than actually bite Yusei, the Snake Shadows bit down on a green winged beast, who stood in front of Yusei protectively.
"Thanks for the help, Shield Wing." Yusei said to his duel monster with a smile, to which the creature nodded before disappearing, along with Kageyama's snakes. Yusei then lifted his head, glaring at the bewildered Kageyama.
"Okay, what kind of bullshit is that?! How are you even summoning that thing?!" Kageyama questioned, though Yusei didn't reply, much to his annoyance. "Fine, don't talk. I prefer to take you down without a single word!"
"This ends now." Yusei said quietly as he drew his next card. "Fighting Spirit."
*WHOOSH*
Yusei's whole body began to glow a white aura, making Kageyama cover his eyes from the light. "I understand how you feel. People have always looked down on me just because I don't come from the same place as them."
"W-What?" Kageyama questioned as he lowered his arm, staring at the glowing Yusei in shock.
"It's true. Where I grew up, it's all about survival of the fittest, and even if you don't do anything wrong, you're still punished by those who think they're better than you." Yusei said with a very small hint of anger and sympathy in his voice as he slowly began to walk towards Kageyama. "But killing will never solve anything. It won't make you feel better and it won't change anyone's mind." Clenching his right fist, Yusei's blue eyes glaring straight into Kageyama's eyes, making him flinch in fear. "DON'T LET YOU HATE CONTROL YOU!" And with that, Yusei leaped towards the shadow magic user, his right fist glowing brightly. "SCRAP FIST!"
All Kageyama could do was scream in terror before Yusei's fist collided with his cheek.
*BOOM*
The force behind Yusei's punch was enough to send Kageyama crashing through three walls before he eventually collided with a large stack of wooden crates, shattering them upon impact.
"Excellent attack, Yusei." Stardust complimented his duelist with a smile before he sweatdropped a bit. "Though… it seems you took after Natsu's destructive nature." Yusei noticed what the synchro dragon meant and also sweatdropped. He wasn't even trying to use all his power, but he also wanted to make sure Kageyama wouldn't try anything.
"Owww…. Damn…" Kageyama grunted while lifting his head, his left cheek throbbing in pain. "I heard… Fairy Tail… didn't hold anything… back… but this… is… a bit much…"
"You didn't give me much of a choice." Yusei said with his arms crossed. "Stand down and tell me where Erigor is." Much to his surprise, Kageyama actually chuckled. "What's so funny?"
"You." Kageyama said before he spat out a bloody tooth, smirking at the Signer. "Do you really think Erigor would stick around with you flies roaming around? He's long gone."
"What?!" Yusei exclaimed in horror. So this whole time, he and the others were being stalled while Erigor left to use Lullaby?
"Sorry, but even you have to admit he was brilliant." Kageyama said, silently putting a hand on the ground. "Too bad you won't be able to stop him!" And with that, he launched several more Snake Shadows towards Yusei faster than he could draw his card.
"Fire Dragon Wing Attack!" However, before his attack could hit Yusei, Natsu suddenly jumped between them, smacking away the snakes to nothing.
"Natsu!" Yusei exclaimed in surprise.
"That's two you owe me." Natsu joked towards Yusei with a grin, making the Signer smile a bit.
"You?! What the hell do you want?" Kageyama asked in shock and anger. This pink haired idiot already stopped his attack once, so seeing him again made Kageyama boil in rage. Natsu noticed him and frowned.
"So, you're the guy we need. Diorama." Natsu said in a completely serious tone, causing a tick mark to appear on Kageyama's head.
"It's Kageyama, you dumbass! Who would name a kid Diorama?!" Kageyama shot back as he attempted to move, only to recoil in pain.
"What do you mean we need him?" Yusei questioned Natsu, who walked up to the defeated Eisenwald member and threw him on his shoulder. Kageyama attempted to break free of Natsu's grip, only for the Dragon Slayer to shake him.
"You won't believe what they told me." Natsu said in a serious tone. Yusei didn't need to be told what it was considering what Kageyama told him just now.
"What, you think I'll do whatever you want, you flies?! There's nothing you can do to change my mind!" Kageyama shouted, not seeing Natsu's evil grin.
"Oh, we have ways to make you talk."
For some reason, Yusei felt somewhat concerned for Kageyama.
'Several minutes later, outside'
*SLASH*
Kageyama screamed in fear as he narrowly turned his head, dodging a potentially dangerous slash to the neck by a VERY pissed off Erza.
"You will dispel the wind barrier and you will do so NOW. Understood?" Erza said in a tone as cold as the silver in her sword. Currently, the entire group was outside the train station, staring at the wind barrier with thoughtful expressions. In order to pursue Kageyama into dispelling said barrier, Erza decided to interrogate him the old fashioned way.
By scaring the absolutely shit out of him.
"I knew you people don't hold back, but I didn't know you were sadistic too!" Kageyama shouted at the group, tears threatening to fall down his eyes.
"Says the guy who works with a scythe wielding maniac." Maki said bluntly before she turned towards Lucy… who was going her best to hold down her skirt due to the wind currents. "Lucy, you can wait inside if you want too."
"Gee, NOW you tell me!" Lucy shouted as she pushed the front of her skirt down to cover her undergarments… which were exposed on her rear.
"Wow, I didn't know you liked THOSE kind of panties, Lucy~" Happy couldn't help but tease while laughing mischievously towards Lucy, much to her irk.
"Just do what she says, man. This chick is crazy." Natsu whispered towards Kageyama, shivering at the bloodshed Erza could cause if Kageyama didn't say anything.
"Shut up, you idiot." Gray said in annoyance before he turned towards Yusei, who was staring at the barrier in deep thought. "What are you thinking?"
"I could use one of my cards to counter the wind barrier. But the backlash might do more harm than actual good." Yusei said to Gray before sighing and turning towards Erza, only to sweatdrop as she stabbed the ground next to Kageyama AGAIN. "Is that all she knows how to do?"
"Yup." Was Gray's blunt answer, making Yusei sweatdrop even more. Even Trudge wouldn't use as much force Erza was, despite his past disdain of the people of the Satellite.
"I will only ask you one last time." Erza said as she inched closer to Kageyama, her eyes glaring into his very soul. "Dispel. The. Barrier."
"Alright! Alright! I'll do it!" Kageyama finally submitted, unable to handle the pressure of being at sword point. Satisfied, Erza stood up, pulling Kageyama up on his feet. "Crazy bastards." He muttered as he began to walk towards the wind barrier, ignoring the looks the gang was giving him.
"Try anything funny and I'll freeze your ass." Gray threatened while holding out a hand, allowing it to glow. Kageyama didn't say anything as he reached a close enough proximity to the wind barrier.
"Can't believe I'm actually doing this." Kageyama said to himself with a defeated sigh before he extended both hands out, allowing a yellow magic circle to appear. Taking a deep breath, Kageyama slowly began to put in as much magic power as he could into the wind barrier. The others watched in silence as Kageyama worked on dispelling the barrier, which slowly began to decrease in intensity. Natsu slowly clenched his right fist, only to stop once he felt a bit of pain from it. His action was noticed by Maki, who frowned at him.
"Natsu, maybe we should find a doctor for you and Lucy." Maki suggested, only for Natsu to shake his head.
"No. We need to stop that bastard before he kills Gramps." Natsu said as his anger began to boil. "Just thinking about what Erigor could do makes my skin crawl. How could anyone be okay with killing people?"
"Some people are just sick that way. But other times… killing is the only option." Maki said in a sad tone, which didn't go unnoticed by the others.
"Did… Did you ever kill anyone, Maki?" Happy asked the second generation pyrokinetic innocently and with concern. Surely Maki of all people would never WILLINGLY end someone's life… right?
Much to their shock, she nodded.
"Where I'm from, some people turn into these kinds of monsters." Maki started as she looked down. "They… they lose a part of themselves. The part that makes them human and they act like wild animals, slaughtering anyone who gets in their way." Taking a deep breath, she continued. "We call these monsters Infernals and while some try to ask for help, others just lose their way and we have to… end their misery." It didn't take a genius to realize what she meant, but even so, it still shocked the group how Maki had to handle these 'Infernals.' Was there really no cure for them if they turned? And couldn't they just lock them away?
"Grrr…" Kageyama grunted as sweat ran down his head. With a final push, Kageyama pushed past his limit and engulfed the wind barrier in a bright light before it disappeared completely, a gust of wind blowing across town briefly.
"Damn, he did it." Gray said with a small whistle. He had to admit, Kageyama, for being associated with a dark guild, knew what he was doing. Speaking of Kageyama, he slowly stumbled a bit before falling forward, only for Yusei to grab him by the shoulders.
"It… took… the rest… of my magic…" Kageyama panted as he glanced back at Yusei. "Hope… you're… happy…"
"I'm grateful. Thank you, Kageyama." Yusei said in a genuine tone, making the rogue wizard scoff a bit. He didn't need his damn gratitude. He only did it because that red haired witch wouldn't let him go.
"Whatever. You won't… stop Erigor… in time…" Kageyama said before he lost consciousness. The stress of their battle and dispelling the wind barrier took its toll on him.
"Good, now we can get to Clover. With any luck, Erigor hasn't gotten there yet." Erza said as she looked back at everyone… only to notice a certain fire user missing. "Where's Natsu?!"
"Happy isn't here, either." Gray said as he and the others began looking around. Lucy looked towards the distance and gasped.
"Look!" Lucy called out while pointing in the air, prompting everyone else to look. It was small, but they could faintly see a stream of fire in the sky.
"Did they really leave to go after Erigor?!" Maki questioned with wide eyes. Yes, Natsu and Happy had every right to be worried. But going on your own without backup is something that NO ONE should ever do, despite how strong they are.
"Those idiots… when I find them, they'll pay!" Erza declared with a fiery aura around her, making Gray, Lucy, Happy and even Maki jump back in fear.
"He'll need help." Yusei said before he walked towards Gray and offered him Kageyama, much to his confusion.
"You can't be serious." Gray told Yusei.
"He was the one who took down the barrier. The least we can do is watch out for him." Yusei said as he gave Gray a serious glare. "I can catch up to Natsu, but I can't do it and carry him. Please, Gray." The ice make wizard looked Yusei straight in the eyes for a good minute before sighing and putting the unconscious shadow wizard on his back. Giving him a nod, Yusei quickly took out his duel runner card before lifting it in the air. "Duel Runner!" With a flash of light, Yusei's iconic vehicle appeared before him, along with his helmet.
"Wait!" Maki called out as Yusei took a seat on his runner, prompting him to look at her. "Let me go with you. You'll need all the help you can get. Besides…" She then gave him a confident smirk. "My powers can support Natsu better." Yusei, not seeing anything wrong with this, scooted forward a bit, allowing Maki to sit behind him while wrapping her arms around his stomach.
"Erza, I'm sorry we can't take all of you." Yusei apologized, only for Erza to shake her head.
"We understand. But Yusei, please…" Erza started with soft eyes. "Stop Erigor." The Head Signer gave her a smile and thumbs up, which she returned.
"Good luck you two!" Lucy added while Gray just nodded. With that, Yusei revved up his Duel Runner before he and Maki began driving away, fully intent on catching up with Natsu and Happy.
'With Erigor'
The leader of Eisenwald continued to fly over the canyon below, his smirk growing as he saw several buildings up ahead. "Ahh, I can see the town ahead." Erigor said with a satisfied chuckle. "Just a little farther ahead and I'll finally have my revenge on those-"
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Before Erigor could finish his sentence, a roar echoed through the canyon, getting his attention as he turned around. "ERIGORRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
"What in the?" Erigor muttered before his eyes widened at the sight before him.
Natsu, who was holding onto Happy's body, who shot out a large stream of fire, acting like a jet engine, rocketing towards the wind magic user. Before he had time to react, Natsu and Happy slammed right into him, sending Erigor crashing into the train tracks. Natsu landed on the tracks without a scratch before he caught Happy, who looked worse for where. "Woah, you okay?"
"Yeah… but I'm… so tired…" Happy said in an exhausted tone, having used all his strength to fly Natsu all the way here. It was too much for the little blue cat.
"Don't worry, buddy. Rest up while I handle this creep." Natsu said to his feline companion with a proud smile as he set him down.
"You again." Erigor said with a sneer as he stood up, getting Natsu's attention. "A pesky Fairy Tail fly. What are you doing here?"
"What am I doing? That's easy." Natsu said in a deadly serious voice before engulfing his fists in flames, glaring hatefully at Erigor. "I'm here to kick your ass!"
"Hmmm, so you were able to break through the wind barrier?" Erigor questioned before scoffing. "Pests like you can be such a nuisance. Now if you were smart, kid, you'd stay out of my way. Or else…" He lifted his left hand up, creating a magic circle. "You'll get BLOWN away." With that, a sudden gust of wind shot out of the magic circle, striking Natsu, though he stood his ground, despite his flames dying out.
"That's… NOTHING!" Natsu shouted through gritted teeth as he attempted to stand strong, only for the wind to explode around him. Erigor merely smirked in satisfaction, only to see something, or rather someone, leap out of the dust. "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" Reigniting his right hand, Natsu flew down to strike Erigor, only for him to jump out of the way. The son of Igneel winced as he pulled his fist out of the ground. 'Damnit! I have to stop using this thing!'
"Not bad, kid. You might actually be a challenge!" Erigor declared before he swung his scythe, only for Natsu to counter it with his left fist, creating sparks between them(literally). For the next few minutes, the two elemental wizards clashed, strike after strike, blow after blow. Despite Natsu's effort, he wasn't able to land a clean blow on Erigor, who cut his right palm, making it leak more blood. "Fighting with an open wound? How arrogant are you?"
"Funny. I was about to ask the same thing!" Natsu shouted before he threw a flame covered axe kick, barely grazing Erigor's right cheek, which caused him to fly in the air. "Hey! Get back down here!"
"Careful what you wish for!" Erigor shouted before he waved his arm swiftly, creating another magic circle. Natsu gasped as a tornado of wind suddenly appeared under him, growing taller and taller. "Storm Bringer!"
"Natsu." Happy muttered as he tried to summon his wings, only for them to disappear. "I'm too low on magic energy."
"DIE!" Erigor shouted as he deactivated his Storm Bringer, causing Natsu to plummet down to the canyon below. "Let's see if you firepower can save you from-"
*VROOM*
Yet again, Erigor was cut off by the sound of an engine below him. Looking down, he saw a red vehicle, unlike any he has ever seen, driving at high speed before leaping off the edge. "Natsu!" Maki called out while extending a hand towards the Dragon Slayer. They were cutting it close, but at this speed, they should be able to get him. Seeing a familiar motorcycle closing it, Natsu extended his hand, allowing Maki to grab it before she and Yusei pulled him back to the train, with the fire mage landing on his feet.
"Yusei! Maki!" Happy cheered with tears in his eyes, seeing the two Champions of the Overseers.
"Natsu, Happy. Are you okay?" Yusei asked as he removed his helmet, getting off his Duel Runner.
"I'm alright. Just a little tired." Happy replied back with a smile, barely raising a paw.
'How did you get here so fast?" Natsu asked in confusion while letting go of Maki's hand.
"Yusei used one of those Lacrima he had to give his Runner a boost." Maki said before letting out a shivering sigh. "But, maybe next time, we could go a bit slower."
"Sorry about that, Maki." Yusei apologized while carding his Runner, putting it back in his pocket. He then glared up at Erigor, who returned it in fold.
"Great. Just as I was dealing with one fly, two more show up. This is starting to get on my nerves." Erigor said with an annoyed tone before he smirked. "No matter. A fly is still a fly, and a reaper…" He pointed his scythe towards them. "Is still a reaper."
"Let me at him." Natsu said while stepping forward, giving the wind mage narrowed eyes. "He just caught me off guard. It won't happen again."
"Sorry, but we promised Erza we would stop Erigor, and we will." Yusei stated as he and Maki walked next to Natsu, with the former looking at him. "As a team." Maki nodded at his words and Natsu looked at him in surprise. Did they really want to step in? Did they not trust him? No, that couldn't be it. Still, it might not hurt to have SOME backup, as long as he got the finishing blow in.
So with a grin, Natsu chuckled while cracking his knuckles. "Alright, but don't cry if I take all the credit." Both Champions gave him a smile before their expressions changed.
Natsu ignited his fists.
Maki removed her jacket, wrapping it around her waist as her eyes began to glow.
And Yusei raised his left arm up, ready to draw his next card.
(Fairy Tail Main Theme play)
"It doesn't matter if you have three or one hundred flies!" Erigor shouted as a burst of wind surrounded him. "YOU WON'T GET IN MY WAY! STORM MAIL!" With that, Erigor unleashed a tornado of sharp wind towards them.
"I don't think so!" Yusei declared as he drew his card. "Scrap Iron Scarecrow!" Suddenly, a small part of the train track burst open, allowing what looked like a metal scarecrow to appear, taking the full assault of Erigor's Storm Mail. "Maki! Natsu!"
"Fire Dragon Roar!" Natsu unleashed a stream of flames from his mouth.
"Flare Bomb!" Maki clapped both hands together before forming a basketball shaped fireball, launching it along with Natsu's attack.
However, before either attack could hit Erigor… they disappeared.
"What?!" Was Natsu and Maki's response before a stronger gust of wind hit them.
"Hehehehe…" Erigor laughed in amusement as he flew higher, now covered in a sort of tornado armor. "You idiots! Fire can never defeat wind. It's a hopeless battle."
'I see. He's making sure Natsu and Maki can't use their powers against him, and if we tried firing a lighter attack, it would just bounce off him.' Yusei thought while looking for any loopholes in Erigor's magic, but given how little he knew of this sort of magic, that proved to be difficult.
"Storm Shred!" Erigor shouted as several sharp blades of wind were shot out of another one of his magic circles, forcing the trio to dodge. Though due to the speed of the wind, they received several small cuts: Natsu on his legs, Maki on her cheek, and Yusei on his right arm.
"We have to break through!" Natsu yelled before he leaped in the air, igniting his left fist and legs. However, Erigor merely smirked as he increased the power in his wind, sending Natsu crashing back into the track tracks.
"Are you okay?!" Maki shouted in concern as she ran up and helped Natsu stand on his feet. He let out a slightly tired breath, but other than that, he was fine.
"Yusei, the best counter is to use an opponent's own attack against them." Stardust told Yusei telepathically.
"But we don't have any wind magic." Yusei replied back, only to widen his eyes. "Wait, you mean-?"
"It worked against Akiza and Black Rose Dragon, and I'm sure it can work here." Stardust said in an encouraging tone before he disappeared.
"Natsu, do you trust me?" Yusei suddenly asked, getting a surprised look from Natsu.
"Well duh, why wouldn't I?" Natsu asked curiously. Yusei, in response, quickly pulled him and Maki close, whispering his plan in their ears. Once the Head Signer told him and Maki his plan, Natsu's eyes widened in shock. "Are you serious?! That's awesome!"
"Then follow my lead." Yusei instructed before the trio looked forward, determined glares on their faces.
"Ha! Any plan you have won't help you win." Erigor said in an arrogant tone as his Storm Mail roared even louder, larger gusts of wind spreading throughout the area. "I'll still rip all of you apart!"
"Not this time." Yusei said before he drew a card, giving Natsu a glance. "Ready?"
"Oh yeah!" Natsu answered back, unable to hold in his excitement.
"What's he so happy about?" Happy couldn't help but as out loud. Unless Yusei bribed Natsu with a fight or food, there isn't much Natsu wanted that Yusei could provide.
"I activate the spell card Silver Wing and equip it… ON NATSU!" Yusei declared as he aimed his card towards his explosive friend, who grinned even wider. A bright light suddenly appeared on Natsu's back, making him gasp a bit.
"Woah. Okay, this feels a bit we-OOOOHHHHH!" Before Natsu could finish his statement, a strange feeling appeared on his back, causing him to fall on one knee. Happy gasped in horror while Erigor merely raised a brow.
'Is he trying to kill his own ally?' Erigor thought questionably before something appeared on Natsu's back that NO ONE expected.
A pair of silver, feathery wings popped right out of Natsu's back, flapping a bit as if stretching.
And of course, there was only one reaction Happy and Erigor could have in a situation like this.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" They said in unison, their eyes bulging out comedically at the bizarre sight in front of them. Who would ever expect WINGS to appear on Natsu's back?
"Woah…" Natsu said in amazement as he looked at his new wings, running a hand through the feathers before grinning. "Check it out, Happy! I have wings too!"
"HOW DID THAT EVER HAPPEN?!" Happy questioned, his brain malfunctioned from the sight before him. Erigor himself was trying to keep his mind from going insane before shaking his head.
"I don't know what kind of bizarre magic you have, boy." Erigor started before he started flying higher in the air. "But it won't be enough to stop me!"
"You can't run away this time!" Natsu said with a feral grin as he began to run and jump…
*THUD*
Only to fall flat on his face. "Owww…"
"Natsu! Try thinking about flying!" Maki suggested, though she still felt a bit off saying it. Muttering to himself about his 'stupid wings', Natsu stood up before glaring up at Erigor, who laughed at his failure.
"Keep laughing, you jerk!" Natsu said before he began to concentrate. 'Think about flying. It's how Happy does it… I think.' Taking a deep breath, Natsu began to visualize his time with Igneel, how he would always fly in the air when he was younger. Just thinking about that made him smile a bit.
"He's actually flying!" Happy's words caused Natsu to open his eyes… only to see that he was slowly ascending above the train tracks with the Silver Wings.
"Alright!" Natsu cheered before he shot forward at surprising speed, catching Erigor off guard. "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!"
"No you don't!" Recovering from Natsu's sudden flight, Erigor flew back, dodging Natsu's attack. The two soon began their aerial battle, each strike sending a shockwave in the sky.
"Yusei…" Maki asked her friend, who held a hand out.
"Storm Shred!" Erigor sent another barrage of sharp wind towards Natsu, only for him to dodge them with his wings. "Stay still, you bug!"
"No, I don't think I will!" Natsu declared as he got closer and closer to Erigor.
"STAY AWAY!" Now more frustrated than ever, Erigor unleashed a great tornado onto Natsu, forcing him to use his wings as a shield. Despite how powerful the attack was, Natsu continued to push closer and closer to him.
"Almost… Almost…" Yusei muttered to himself, he and Maki watching the battle with critical eyes until Natsu was just a few away. "NOW!" Quickly drawing his card, Yusei raised it in the air. "I activate the spell Release Restraint Wave to destroy Natsu's Silver Wing!"
"You're what?!" Happy exclaimed with a gasp. Was he going to let Natsu fall to his death again?! Then what was the point of using that card? However, rather than being concerned, Natsu grinned as his wings disappeared, a green barrier surrounding him.
"What?!" Erigor questioned loudly before Natsu extended his limbs, letting out a pure battle cry.
*BOOM*
Just as he did, a massive burst of green wind exploded from Natsu's barrier, striking Erigor's Storm Mail. "WHAT IS THIS?!"
"RRRRRAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!" Natsu screamed as loud as he could, unleashing the power of Release Restraint Wave to match Erigor's magic. Slowly, Erigor's Storm Mail began to weaken, his body being pushed back by the spell card's effect before he was eventually launched away, crashing into one of the large canyon rocks.
"AHHH! Damn fairies…" Erigor muttered as he attempted to push himself up from the rubble. To think they were actually able to counter one of his best spells was both amazing and terrifying.
"Hehehe… you're up, Maki." Natsu chuckled with a grin as he fell down, towards the bottom, only for Yusei to catch him by the arm. Confused by his statement, Erigor looked up…
… Only to see Maki standing on the arms of what looked like a yellow robot with launcher-like arms, a street light over its head and green eyes. "WHAT?!"
"Ready Maki?" Yusei asked while lifting Natsu back on the tracks.
"Ready!" Maki declared while summoning Sputter and Flare in her hands, her glowing eyes glaring down at Erigor. "It's time to end this." Yusei gave her a nod before giving the order.
"Turbo Booster, launch Maki at Erigor!" Yusei commanded his monster, who nodded before taking aim at the wind mage. A small hissing sound emerged from the arms before Turbo Booster launched the second generation fire soldier with its arms, though surprisingly, Maki wasn't falling off.
"Sputter and Flare, it's time to work together." Maki said to the small fireballs before increasing the amount of flames, making them grow larger and larger. Once they were as big as her, Maki slammed both together. "Sputter-Flare: Big Bang Comet!" Soon, the fireball formed the face of Flare, much to Erigor's shock and horror.
"WHAT EVEN IS THAT, YOU MONSTER?!" Erigor called out… unable to realize the effect of his words.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A MOUNTAIN LIFTING, GORILLA APE?!" Maki shouted in fury as the Flare fireball opened its mouth like a large alligator.
"HOLY-"
*BOOOOOM*
(Fairy Tail main theme end)
A massive explosion erupted within the canyon, visible to those miles away, such as the rest of the Fairy Tail group, who were currently riding inside their 'borrowed' magicmobile. "Woah, what was that?!" Lucy asked the others in shock, staring at the large cloud of smoke that emerged from the explosion.
"Don't know. It's probably Natsu." Gray theorized before narrowing his eyes. "Only that idiot would do something that reckless."
"But it still won't be enough to beat Erigor." Kageyama retorted, feeling much better than how he felt a while ago. Still, even he felt a bit worried about Erigor, not that he actually cared for the guy or anything.
"I see them!" Erza called out from the driver's seat, seeing several familiar faces… and a smoking Erigor lying in front of them. The trio noticed the magicmobile and smiled.
"Hey! You guys just missed us beating Erigor!" Natsu called out while cupping his hands next to his mouth.
"Aye! It was crazy!" Happy added as the magicmobile stopped several feet away, allowing Erza, Gray and Lucy to exit it, though the latter was carried by Lucy.
"I don't know if I should ask, but… is he okay?" Gray asked with a sweatdrop as he looked down at Erigor's rather battered body. He had multiple burns on his body, as well as some cuts, a swollen cheek and an equally black eye. It looked like Erza gave him a beat down… almost.
"He's still breathing, but he won't try anything for a while now." Maki said confidently while crossing her arms, looking back at the rock where Erigor once stood… or at least, the REMNANTS of it. Considering how much added power was given to her new attack by Yusei's Turbo Booster, it was understandable that it would cause such destruction.
'Impossible! They beat Erigor?!' Kageyama thought in horror as he stepped out of the magicmobile as well. Just how much power did these guys even have?
"And we were finally able to get this." Yusei said while holding up Lullaby with one hand. It seemed like their mission was finally over.
"So, you needed Yusei and Maki to save your ass because you couldn't beat him alone? I knew you couldn't do it." Gray mocked his rival, who growled angrily at him.
"Oh yeah? At least I was able to punch Erigor with Yusei's card!" Natsu retorted back before looking at said person. "Yusei, use that Silver Wing card so I can show off those wings!"
"Silver Wing?" Lucy asked Yusei, who smiled a bit.
"It's one of my cards." Yusei answered to lift any confusion. "I used it to give us an advantage against Erigor, but it wouldn't have worked if we weren't working together as a team." Natsu and Maki smiled at Yusei's kind words.
"Aye! But it was Yusei who made the plan to beat Erigor!" Happy said cheerfully while flying up and landing on the Head Signer's right shoulder, even if it depleted some more magic. "You should have seen how awesome he was."
"So, you can summon warriors and vehicles, as well as cast spells to increase one's power?" Erza questioned while looking at Yusei curiously. "Your card magic is rather unique, Yusei. Nothing like Cana's magic. Where did you learn to train such power?" Natsu, Lucy, Happy and Maki all gulped a bit in concern, hoping Erza wouldn't break Yusei into telling her where he REALLY got his power from.
However, much to their relief, Yusei stayed calm as he answered her. "From someone wise and powerful. It took some time, but they were able to teach me everything they knew." Yusei lied convincingly. The scarlet knight looking at him, brown eyes into deep blue ones before she allowed a small smile to appear on her face.
"I see. Well, it would have been an honor to meet such a person." Erza said with a slight chuckle before looking at him, Natsu and Maki. "Thanks to the three of you, the Guildmasters are safe." Lucy and Gray all nodded in agreement, but they were surprised to see Yusei shake his head.
"Like I said, it wasn't just us. You, Gray and Lucy also helped us in stopping the rest of Eisenwald." Yusei said honestly with his own small smile. "We make a great team." Everyone stared at him for a moment before smiling warmly. No matter what, it seemed like Yusei Fudo would always ensure that everyone was praised. Not just himself, and that was what they respected about him. Even Stardust Dragon appeared briefly next to Yusei to give him a proud draconic smile.
"While we're here, we should stop by the Guildmasters Conference to tell them what happened and how to properly dispose of Lullaby." Erza suggested as the group all nodded in response.
But little did they know… Lullaby's eye holes began to glow purple.
*VROOM*
It happened instantly that it caught all of them off guard. The magicmobile was suddenly launched in the air, with shadowy tendrils shooting out of the driver's seat. Each one knocked back the group, with a particular one grabbing Lullaby from Yusei's hand. "KAGE!" Erza shouted in pure shock.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Yusei asked, also in shock at the behavior of the shadow magic user.
"Lullaby's mine now! And I'm going to finish what Erigor started!" Kageyama yelled back with a crazed smile. "You shouldn't have let your guard down, suckers!" With a mad cackle, Kageyama drove away at high speed, leaving a trail of dust in his wake.
"What a jerk!" Natsu shouted in anger.
"After everything, he STILL backstabbed us?!" Lucy added in equal anger.
"Don't worry, I'll catch up to him." Yusei said bravely as he quickly took out his Duel Runner card. "Duel-"
*Thump*Thump*
However, just as he was about to finish, Yusei suddenly began to fall forward, getting down on one knee while panting. "Yusei!" The others quickly rushed to his side, wondering if he was severely injured.
"I'm fine… I'm fine…" Yusei repeated while wiping away some sweat on his forehead, looking at his card. "Why do I feel so tired?"
"Maybe since you used your cards against Eisenwald and Erigor, your magic got drained more than you thought." Lucy suggested with a frown.
"We can go the rest of the way on foot." Erza said stoically. At least for now, she and the others can regain their magic energy so they could stop Kageyama before he played Lullaby.
But only time would tell.
'Guildmasters Conference Hall, several hours later'
It took practically all of his magic energy and several grueling hours, but Kageyama had finally come into view of the Guildmasters Conference Hall. He had long since abandoned the magicmobile to ensure he didn't faint from magic depletion. "This could work. Surely, they'll be able to hear the Lullaby song from all the way up here." Kageyama said to himself while hiding behind a tree. "Finally, the time has come."
*Smooch*smooch*smooch*
However, he was cut out of his train of thought by the sound of kissing in the air, more specifically, from behind him. Just hearing it made his spine shiver as he slowly turned around… only to see Makarov Dreyar, the current Guildmaster of Fairy Tail, reading a Sorcerer's Weekly magazine. "There are some hot little numbers in this week's issue." Makarov said with a small blush on his cheeks. "Wow. Young wizarding ladies are so much more powerful now than they were back in my day. And sexier too!" However, Makarov suddenly remembered something as he stood up from his little rock. "I don't have time for this! I have to track down those idiots before they destroy a whole town!" But just as he took his first step, he realized Kageyama was staring at him, causing him to scream in panic. "It's not what it looks like! I was just doing some research on female wizards, that's all!"
"I don't care what you were doing." Kageyama said in a tired tone and sigh, much to Makarob's relief.
"So, what is a young man like yourself doing in these woods?" Makarov asked curiously. Kageyama was about to answer when he recognized WHO he was talking to.
'Wait. That's Makarov, master of the Fairy Tail guild. Why the hell do I keep running into these flies?' He thought before a plan appeared in his mind. "Oh, I'm just a wandering musician, hoping to perfect my flute playing skills." Kageyama said in a fake happy tone while showing Makarov Lullaby. "I don't suppose you'd care to listen to a song? My friends back home wouldn't give me a chance to play it. It would mean a lot if you would allow me to play it for you." Makarov hummed a bit at Kageyama's request, looking at the flute.
"That's a creepy looking flute you have there." Makarov commented, making Kageyama chuckle.
"I know it may look strange, but it has a beautiful sound." Kageyama replied, hoping his bluff would be useful enough to fool the old man.
"I really should be going…" Makarov started before he sighed. "But, one song couldn't hurt."
"Thank you so much!" Kageyama said in a forced happy tone. "Now, please make sure to listen to it because I want to make sure it's perfect." Makarov merely nodded, saying 'yeah, yeah' as Kageyama lifted Lullaby towards his mouth, his lips just inches from playing the deadly tune. This was it. The moment he and the rest of Eisenwald were waiting for: a chance to rid the world of these Guildmasters and show their power. All Kageyama needed to do was just blow in the flute and it would be over, simple as that.
And yet… he was hesitant. But why? Surely not because of those Fairy Tail flies who kept trying to change him, and DEFINITELY not that Yusei bastard.
"I understand how you feel."
"But killing will never solve anything. It won't make you feel better and it won't change anyone's mind."
"DON'T LET YOU HATE CONTROL YOU!"
No matter how hard he tried, Kageyama couldn't unhear those words. Those understanding words from a guy he was JUST trying to take down. Why was it so hard to forget about Yusei and his words?!
As he was having this inner conflict, the rest of the Fairy Tail group finally reached the forest, seeing Kageyama and Makarov not too far away.
"We… Made it." Lucy said while taking deep breaths. Man, running really can take a lot out of someone.
"Master!" Erza called out, hoping to warn her Guildmaster before Kageyama could play Lullaby.
"Shhhhh…" The group suddenly tensed up as Bob, Guildmaster of the Blue Pegasus guild, appeared next to them, causing Natsu, Gray and Lucy to jump back in fear. "Were just about to get to the good part." Bob said in a quiet tone before he stared ogling the boys. "Well, aren't you boys yummy? Especially you~." Bob then stared at Yusei, who actually flinched at his gaze. "My, you're even more handsome in person."
'Okay… I wasn't expecting this.' Yusei thought to himself. It's not like there WEREN'T any cross dressers back in New Domino City or the Satellite, but even so, he was a little creeped out. Not that he would say it out loud out of respect.
"Erza, w-who is that?" Maki asked with a stutter as she and the others saw Bob getting closer to the boys, making them step back.
"That is another Guildmaster: master Bob of the Blue Pegasus." Erza answered calmly, unaffected by the man's unusual attire. Speaking of Bob, he noticed Erza, Lucy and Maki looking at him, making him smile.
"Erza, honey, you really filled up. And who are these lovely ladies?" Bob asked as he scanned Maki and Lucy. "Dear, those muscles are beautiful!"
"G-Gee, you think so?" Maki said with a nervous smile. "Thank you mada-I MEAN SIR!"
"I can't believe this weirdo is the master of the Blue Pegasus guild." Lucy said while hiding behind both warrior women.
"Well, are you going to play it?" Makarov spoke up, getting everyone else's attention. "I don't have all night, young man." Kageyama didn't say anything as he slowly moved his mouth closer to Lullaby's flute holes.
"Makarov!" Yusei called out as he was prepared to run down, only for a hand to grab his shoulder.
"Keep it down, will you son? We're about to get to the good part." Goldmine said with a smirk on his face.
"The Guildmaster of Quarto Cerberus too?" Lucy spoke up in surprise.
"That's their master, Goldmine." Erza added as Goldmine removed his hand from Yusei's shoulder.
"You don't understand. He has Lullaby and plans on using it on all of you." Yusei tried urging, though it didn't seem worried.
"We know. Just watch." Goldmine simply said, much to the confusion of the others besides Bob.
"You know nothing will change, right?" Makarov suddenly spoke up, catching everyone, especially Kageyama off guard.
"Huh?" Kageyama asked, utterly confused. Did this old man have telepathy or something? How did he know what he was thinking?
"You cannot change the fact that those who are weak will forever remain weak." Makarov started as he turned his back on Kageyama, looking at the sky. "If you ask me, that's not a bad thing. I mean, we humans are weak creatures by nature. Our insecurities are the reason that guilds even exist. And… why we have friends." He looked over his shoulder, giving Kageyama an understanding expression. "When we're surrounded by allies, it's easier to stay positive about the future. If we're clumsy, then we may stumble and bump into things, but as long as we have faith in our future, we continue to march forward. Our inner strength emerges on its own. But we have to choose that path and pledge to live our lives to the fullest." Now turning back to Kageyama fully, Makaorv gave him a serious expression before continuing. "Don't let that silly flute get in the way."
That… That was the most sincere anyone has ever been to Kageyama in a long time. Most of his time with Erigor, Kageyama had to fear for his own life. No one could really stand up for him and he always let hate control him. And yet this old man, and Yusei were the ones who actually believed he could do something right with his life.
So with that… Kageyama dropped Lullaby and got on his knees, bowing towards Makarov. "I surrender." The others all gasped in surprises before smiles adorned their faces with Natsu, Erza, Lucy and Happy all running towards their master.
"Master!" They all shouted in unison, much to Makarov's surprise.
"How did you kids end up in Clover?" Makarov questioned in shock before Erza picked him up and slammed his head against her chestplate.
"Master Makarov, your words touched me so deeply." Erza said in a sincere tone, though she didn't realize just how hard Makarov slammed his head. "I was almost moved to tears."
The only two of the group who weren't walking down were Yusei and Maki, the former smiling at Makarov while the latter was crying.
"T-T-That was so b-b-beautiful." Maki whimpered as Bob offered her a tissue(from out of nowhere), which she took to wipe away her tears.
'He was able to talk Kage out of using Lullaby. Makarov really is amazing.' Yusei thought to himself, chuckling slightly as Makarov rubbed his bruised head before he turned towards Maki. "This is how things are in Fairy Tail. Even when I haven't been there for long, I've seen how much everyone cares for each other."
"It's amazing. They act kind of like Company 8." Maki said in a nostalgic tone, thinking about all her comrades back home. It did sadden her to be away from them, but maybe Fairy Tail wouldn't be a bad group to join them. "Yusei, do you think…"
"Makarov would let you join Fairy Tail?" Yusei finished for Maki, getting a nod from her and he smiled. "I'm sure he and the others would be more than happy to have you on the team. Come on." The two Champions from different worlds then walked down to meet the others in their moment of triumph. Makarov noticed their arrival and smiled.
"Yusei, I'm glad to see you're alright. These kids haven't given you much trouble, have they?" Makarov asked jokingly, though there was a hint of seriousness in his voice.
"Hey, we're right here!" Natsu called out with a frown.
"He's not wrong." Gray said bluntly, unwilling to hide the fact they caused a LOT of collateral damage.
"They were fine." Yusei answered the Guildmaster before gesturing towards Maki. "This is a friend of mine, Maki. She helped us stop Eisenwald at Oniba station and she'd like to join Fairy Tail."
"Really now?" Makarov asked curiously as he examined Maki, who stood high and strong, like a soldier in the army. After a few minutes of pondering, he smiled. "Any friend of Yusei's is a friend of mine. Of course you can join us, dear."
"Thank you, sir. I won't let you down." Maki said in a confident tone, but still had a happy smile on her face.
"Yes. I would be honored if you would spar with me." Erza asked Maki with a confident smile. "Your fighting style interests me."
"Erza and Maki fighting? I'm not sure if I should be happy or scared." Lucy commenting, shivering at the thought of both beautiful warriors clashing. Would Fairy Tail even survive such a battle?
"Don't forget our fight, Erza." Natsu said while clenching a fist.
'But one minute doesn't count as a fight, Natsu." Happy said innocently while raising a paw, causing Natsu to gasp and everyone else to laugh.
Kageyama continued to kneel down in shame before he saw a pair of shoes in front of him, getting him to look up. "You didn't do it." Yusei said with a smile as he offered Kage a hand, which he hesitantly took before the Signer pulled him on his feet.
"I just… I didn't really want to kill anyone." Kageyama admitted in shame. "Hell, some of the other guys in Eisenwald weren't even sure about Erigor's plan, but he said he would kill us if we tried escaping." He looked down and clenched his fist. "I'm sorry."
"A friend of mine lost his way too." Yusei confessed before he placed a hand on Kageyama's shoulder, recalling how Kalin was when he was arrested by Sector Security and eventually became a Dark Signer. "He was angry too and wanted to take it out on me, but I was able to get through to him and become his friend again." He comfortablely squeezed Kage's shoulder. "You just need the right friends to stand by you."
"What? You really wanna be my friend?" Kageyama half joked, but once he saw Yusei's serious expression, he stepped back. "Seriously? Even when I ambushed you?"
"You're not a bad guy, Kage. I want to help make sure you don't get thrown away." Yusei said softly before he extended a hand of friendship towards the shadow magic user. Said person wanted to ask if this was a joke, yet Yusei's eyes held no deceit. He was serious, and that almost made Kage cry. He simply turned his head away from Yusei, wiping his eyes with his arm without so much as a word, yet Yusei didn't seem affected. Noticing this, Kageyama eventually sighed and shook Yusei's hand, giving a brief smile.
"Hope you don't regret it, pal." Kageyama said in a joking tone, to which Yusei smiled. The others saw Yusei and Kageyama shake hands and couldn't help but smile at his actions.
'I was right to let him join us. He really is making a difference.' Makarov thought proudly towards Yusei. This young man proved to be much wiser than most would expect. Probably due to his environment.
However, as everyone continued to talk amongst themselves, a lone figure flew over them, cloaked in a pure white robe. "So, you think you've won, Yusei Fudo? Arrogance is always one's downfall." The stranger said with utter disgust before a dark portal appeared behind him, with Joker poking his head out.
"Ohhhh, stalking them, are we?" Joker asked with a grin, an eyeball-shaped smokeball emerging from his cigarette.
"Do you have it?" The white clad stranger asked, not wanting to stall any longer.
"Nothing in my left hand." Joker said in a teasing tone while showing off his empty left hand. He then took out his right hand, which had the vial given to him by their mutual 'friend.' "Would you look at that? I had it with me."
"Give it." The stranger asked with an annoyed tone, getting a chuckle from Joker before he threw him the vial. Looking at the glowing substance, the white clad stranger smirked as they removed the corg from the vial, pouring the contents down. "With this blood, I give you the power of the death god, Ankhseram. Use this and crush our foes." The liquid fell towards the earth, spinning in the air before eventually dripping on Lullaby, something Happy noticed.
"Hey guys? Is it raining?" Happy asked out loud, getting everyone's attention.
"No. Why?" Natsu asked Happy in confusion.
"Then why did some purple rain fall on Lullaby?" Happy asked as he pointed towards the flutes, which was now covered in some strange purple liquid. No one had a clear answer as to why that was, but deep down, Yusei felt something was off.
"Let us secure Lullaby before anything else happens." Erza suggested as she began to walk towards the flute, reaching down to touch it.
*ZAP*
But just as her metal clad fingers were about to touch Lullaby, purple lightning suddenly shot out of it, forcing her and the others to step back. "What the hell happened?!" Gray asked in shock as he and the others quickly turned towards Kageyama, who raised his hands in defense.
"Woah, I didn't do anything to it! You saw me drop it!" Kageyama said, trying to defend his innocence.
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" An ear piercing roar erupted from Lullaby, sending a shockwave that sent everyone flying back. A massive purple magic circle appeared in the air, with Lullaby slowly levitating up towards it.
"What the hell's going on? Where's Lullaby going?!" Natsu questioned as the three eye holes of the Lullaby flute began to glow a much darker purple light. Bolts of lightning shot everywhere, striking anything within the areas, like the trees and even parts of the Guildmasters Conference hall, forcing everyone inside to run outside. Even the Rune Knight army, who had been gathering to stop the Eisenwald guild, stopped marching as they stared at the magic circle in horror.
"Yusei…" Stardust began growling in anger, something that surprised his duelist. There was something purely evil about Lullaby that was about to be released.
"Everyone, stay back!" Makarov ordered before a giant shadow suddenly loomed over everyone.
And what it was horrified everyone.
A large wooden foot landed on the ground, causing it to shake like an earthquake, followed by another. The creature that owned the legs was a GINORMOUS creature made of pitch black wood. It had the skull based head of Lullaby, allowing with three eyes holes that began glowing, as well as several dark purple spikes on its spine, large shoulder blades, a large mouth with several rows of teeth and a long tail.
Lullaby pulled its head back, taking in a deep breath before unleashing it.
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" Lullaby's roar matched that of the strongest beast, echoing through the mountains and scaring everyone who heard it to their very core.
"W-W-W-WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!" Natsu shouted in fear.
"IT'S MASSIVE!" Lucy also yelled while falling on her ass, shivering like a cold wet dog.
"NO KIDDING, LUCY!" Happy commented on Lucy's words, yet still shook in fear just the same.
"Erigor never said anything about a monster being inside of Lullaby!" Kageyama said with a cold sweat running down his head.
"It must be a demon from the book of Zeref." Goldmine said in a deeply serious tone.
"Why did the flute transform? Did we know it could do that?" Maki questioned while putting on a strong front, even though she too was terrified.
"This is Lullaby's true form." Makarov said dreadfully with his hands behind his back. "Forbidden living magic, created by the Black Wizard, Zeref."
"Living magic?" Erza questioned, keeping her eyes on Lullaby.
"Who's Zeref?" Gray asked in confusion, not having heard that name. "Wasn't he an ancient wizard from long ago?"
"The most evil wizard the world has ever seen and the most powerful." Bob answered, having adopted a serious tone as well. "But honestly, I never thought in my wildest dreams that his dark legacy would pop up again years later."
"Destroy… Destroy…" Lullaby began repeating in a deep and low tone, though everyone could hear it perfectly. Its eyes then noticed Yusei and Maki, causing it to growl in anger. "MUST DESTROY THE CHAMPIONS!"
"Champions? Who the hell is it talking about?" Gray asked while getting in a fighting stance while throwing out his coat. But little did he know, Yusei, Maki, Natsu, Lucy and Happy all looked at Lullaby in a shocked tone.
'Just how does Lullaby know about the Champions? This doesn't make any sense.' Yusei thought with narrowed eyes. He had a lot of questions about this, but he would have to prioritize everyone's safety first.
"There's the monster!" The captain of the Rune Knights called out as he pointed his staff towards the creation of Zeref. "Prepare yourselves, men. We must stop that monster before it can harm anyone."
"YES SIR!" All the Rune Knights said in unison before they began charging towards Lullaby, who noticed them before growling.
"DON'T INTERFERE!" The back of Lullaby's spikes slowly began to glow even brighter, causing the others to cover their eyes. After a good minute of charging, Lullaby turned towards the Rune Knights and opened its mouth…
And unleashed a pure beam of dark purple energy towards the Rune Knights. They could only gasp as Lullaby's attack struck them, causing each and every one of them to scream in agony before their bodies disappeared. The attack didn't stop there as Lullaby continued to blast the ground, leading it up to one of the mountains in the distance.
*BOOOOOOOM*
Once it struck the mouth, a large trail of explosions erupted from the path of Lullaby's attack, sending dirt, rocks and wood scattering everywhere. "WHAT POWER!" Erza shouted as she and the others covered their faces, holding their ground from the shockwave of the explosion. Happy grabbed on Maki's legs, making sure he was sent flying away. Once the explosions were gone, all that was left was a large, smoking trench that led all the way to the mouth, which was missing its top.
"A-All that power… it wiped them out…" Lucy said, all the color in her face completely disappearing due to her fear. To think something like Lullaby had so much power, and that was just to get rid of the Rune Knights.
"M-Maki, I'm scared." Happy whimpered as he flew up and hugged Maki out of terror, his little body shivering. Maki rubbed his back to comfort him, but that did little to help him.
"We must stand strong." Erza said stoically as she stepped forward, with Natsu, Gray and Yusei following suit.
"Yeah, there's no way we're letting a monster like that scare us." Natsu said with a toothy grin.
"If this thing wants to kill anyone else, it'll have to answer us." Gray said cooly while putting his fist over his open palm.
"Be careful, guys." Yusei advised as he drew two cards from his deck. "Something tells me Lullaby won't be easy to destroy."
"Can they really beat Lullaby by themselves?" Lucy questioned in fear.
"Don't worry, my dear." Makarov said with a grin and an evil twinkle in his eye. "Those kids may be reckless, but they'll get the job done."
"Let's go!" Erza declared before she, Natsu and Gray rushed towards Lullaby.
"Go, Junk Warrior and Justice Bringer!" Yusei called out while lifting his cards in the air, causing them to glow. Materializing over him was his signature Synchro monster, as well as a warrior who resembled a judge with a golden sword in hand. Erza's whole body began to glow before she requipped into her Heaven's Wheel armor.
"Dance my swords!" Erza shouted before she and Justice Bringer slashed at Lullaby's arms.
"Ice Make Lance!" Gray launched several icicles towards Lullaby, striking its chest multiple times.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" Finally, Natsu ignited his right fist(which had recovered enough for him to use) before he and Junk Warrior punched Lullaby clean in the face, only for Lullaby to not react at all. "Huh?!"
"Nothing worked at all!" Lucy gasped loudly as her friends all jumped back, assessing all the damage their attacks did.
However, there WAS no damage. There weren't even any scratches visible to them. It was like their attacks were nothing more than bug bites!
"Oh dear. That's not good." Bob said in concern while Goldmine and the other Guildmasters all frowned deeply.
"Don't stop! We must push on!" Erza ordered before her body began to glow yet again, signifying a requip. Once the light around her died out, everyone saw the new armor Erza wore and it seemed deadlier than the last. Her armor is black in color, sporting some silver trimming. A distinctive feature of the armor is its pair of wings, which are reminiscent of those of a Dragon or a bat. Around Erza's neck is a neck guard decorated by several gems, and, while wearing this armor, her long scarlet hair is tied up in a high ponytail, with two bangs framing her face. Her large shoulderpads, each composed of two silver-edged plates one over the other, sport silver crosses on them too, and flank the high collar, whose shape is reminiscent of that of a dress. The silver-edged breastplate reveals a fair amount of Erza's cleavage and belly, with plates flanking her hips and reaching down to her very large waistguard, composed of very long, silver-edged plates shaped like feathers and decorated by silver crosses. The waistguard leaves the front of Erza's body exposed, with her groin being covered by a dark indument. The slim gauntlets come equipped with prominent protection for her hands, each sporting silver patterns. The plates guarding her legs are sliver-edged on her thighs and knees, but pitch black dark on her metal greaves. "Black Wing Armor."
'Hmmm, Crow would probably love seeing this armor.' Yusei thought as he pictured his friend's reaction before focusing on the fight. "Gray, Natsu, take the left side. My monsters will focus on the right." Neither rival argued with Yusei's orders(as much as they wanted to) as they rushed towards Lullaby's left side, which it noticed.
With a beastial roar, Lullaby swung its arms towards the two Fairy Tail Wizards, forcing them to jump in the air.
"Moon Fang!" Erza flew towards Lullaby's face at high speed, pulling her sword up before bringing it down, hoping to at least scar the beast.
*SNAP*
However, as soon as her sword made contact with Lullaby's face, it snapped in half, the top of it flying off in the distance. "My sword!" Erza gasped in horror before Lullaby used its tail to wrap around Erza, preventing her from moving.
"Erza, hang on!" Yusei called out before extending his arm. "Go save her!" Junk Warrior and Justice Bringer flew towards Lullaby's face, fully intent on saving the Titania of Fairy Tail. Seeing them, Lullaby opened its mouth before launching a stream of purple flames, evaporating both of Yusei's monsters. Once they were hit, a sudden rush of pain suddenly struck Yusei, causing him to fall on one knee.
"Yusei, what's wrong?!" Maki asked as she and Lucy quickly ran to help him stand.
"I don't know… when my monsters… were destroyed… I felt their pain." Yusei admitted while putting a hand over his chest. None of his monsters were ever destroyed here, so it came to a surprise when he felt pain course through his body.
"DIE!" Lullaby roared before it began squeezing the life out of Erza.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" The red haired knight screamed in agony as she felt her armor being squeezed, causing cracks to form. She was doing everything in her power to break free, but it proved to be futile, even more so when she tried requipping again.
"LET HER GO!" Natsu and Gray shouted in rage, the former using his Wing Attack while the latter had a giant ice hammer. The two rivals struck Lullaby clean on the head, only all it did was grunt in annoyance before smacking them away like flies, sending them crashing into a nearby tree. After giving Erza another good squeeze, Lullaby smacked her onto the ground, causing her to bounce on it several times before skidding in front of her friends.
"ERZA!" Happy shouted in terror as he and the others looked down at the Titania. Her Black Wing Armor was shattered, barely covering her body as she let out raspy breaths.
"No…" Makarov said with a deep breath, clenching his right fist as he felt his veins pulsing. Seeing a girl he considered his daughter on the ground made his blood boil. Natsu and Gray stood up and noticed Erza lying on the ground.
"It even took down Erza." Gray said with gritted teeth as Natsu threw off his vest, exposing his upper torso.
"Okay, NOW I'M MAD!" Natsu roared as his own body was covered in flames, allowing him to launch towards Lullaby at high speed. He slapped both his hands together, creating a large fireball over his head. "THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR HURTING MY FRIENDS! FIRE DRAGON BRILLIANT FLAME!" With that, Natsu threw the large fireball down towards Lullaby, who only roared as the flames struck its head, engulfing it in an explosion.
"Yeah! That's showing it, Natsu!" Happy cheered as everyone watched in anticipation. They were hoping that Natsu's Brilliant Flame attack would at least weaken Lullaby for a much stronger counter attack. As the smoke began to disappear, everyone could see that the monster of Zeref's creation seemed to actually react to Natsu's attack, taking a step back and hitting the side of the Guildmasters Conference Hall.
"How do you like that, you monster?!" Natsu taunted with a smirk while in the air. That's what Lullaby gets for hurting Erza, especially when she promised to fight him after-
"NATSU, GET BACK!" Yusei suddenly shouted in distress, much to the Dragon Slayer's confusion.
"Huh?" Natsu looked towards Lullaby and noticed its arms slowly opening up. "What the-?"
Just as he was about to finish his sentence… multiple sharp branches shot out of Lullaby's arms faster than even Natsu could see.
*STAB*
All the group could see was a spray of blood flying through the air as their eyes widened in horror. Natsu coughed out blood as his body began to fly back, heading straight towards the gang. "NATSU!" They all shouted in horror as Yusei and Maki rushed forward, extending their arms to catch Natsu. Once he reached them, the two Champions caught him, though due to the height of his fall, Natsu caused them all to fall to the ground. Quickly getting up, Yusei and Maki began examining the condition of their wounded friend and needless to say, they were horrified.
He had multiple holes throughout his body, his chest rising at an irregular pace. Not only that, but Natsu's eyes were wide in shock.
"NATSU, DON'T DIE!" Happy cried out as he rushed towards his best friend, tears running down his eyes.
"I can't believe it took them BOTH down." Lucy said as she choked up, also crying at the condition of her two teammates.
"I-I-I-" Due to the amount of pain in his body, Natsu couldn't even form proper words, coughing out some more blood.
"Must destroy… MUST DESTROY!" Lullaby opened its mouth yet again, charging up another breath attack towards the group.
"WE NEED TO RUN!" Some of the Guildmasters ran away out of fear, while a few like Goldmine and Bob stood with the Fairy Tail group. Lullaby didn't seem to care about this as it prepared to unleash its attack.
"ICE MAKE SHIELD!" Gray quickly jumped in front of everyone, summoning a large frozen shield with his hands.
"GRAY, NO!" Maki shouted as everyone looked at the ice make wizard in surprise. Lullaby unleashed a powerful burst of purple flames, incinerating the ground itself. Once the flames struck Gray's shield, he felt his feet slowly being pushed back, digging into the ground. Even with the strength of his magic, Gray could feel his shield slowly begin to melt.
"DAMNIT!" Gritting his teeth, Gray put more of his magic into his shield, only for a crack to slowly appear.
"Get back, Gray! It's too much!" Yusei tried urging, but Gray didn't listen.
"I… WON'T… LET… IT… KILL… MY FRIENDS!" Gray declared as he let out a battlecry.
*CRACK*
But despite everything he did, Gray's shield eventually shattered, sending Gray flying all the way into a large tree, causing him to gasp before he passed out. Luckily, his efforts were not in vain as he was able to hold back Lullaby's breath attack. "GRAY!" Lucy quickly ran to check on the ice mage, who was out cold. "Now we're down three wizards!"
"ENOUGH!" Makarov bellowed out as he slowly began to grow to his giant form, his eyes glowing a bright yellow as he matched Lullaby in terms of size. "I WILL NOT ALLOW ANYMORE OF MY CHILDREN TO BLEED BECAUSE OF YOU!"
"... Did you know he could do that?" Maki asked Yusei and Lucy, who nodded their heads. Considering they were in the realm of magic, it would only make sense that someone had growth magic.
*RRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR!* Lullaby merely roared towards Makarov before the two titans began to march towards each other, though Makarov was slightly faster and was able to punch the demon of Zeref in the face, causing it to stumble back. Not giving it a moment's chance, Makarov punched Lullaby again and again, each time making the monster step back.
"He's actually winning. GO MASTER!" Happy cheered as loudly as he could. Makarov grabbed Lullaby's head with both hands, working to crush its head. Lullaby began to scream in agony as the fourth Guildmaster of Fairy Tail was squeezing its head as hard as he could.
"Destroy… Destroy… I MUST DESTROY!" Lullaby roared in rage before it thrusted its right hand.
*STAB*
"GUAH!" Everyone gasped in horror as Lullaby stabbed its claws into Makarov's side, making him cough out blood.
"N-No… Master…" Erza moaned in pain, her left eye looking on with a single tear running down it. Lullaby then began bigging its fingers even deeper into Makarov's side, causing him to scream in pain before the monster opened its mouth, firing a point blank energy ball. The giant Guildmasters of Fairy Tail slowly began to fall backwards, his body glowing yet again. Yusei quickly ran towards Makarov, who shrank down to his normal size before the Signer caught him.
"Makarov, hang in there." Yusei said with heavy concern, staring at the short Guildmaster's burned chest and bleeding wound.
"Y-Yusei… my boy…" Makarov stared in pain, barely opening his eyes to look at Yusei. "T-Take… the… others… and… run…"
'This is bad. This is really, REALLY bad.' Maki thought as she looked at her right hand, which trembled in fear. 'Natsu, Gray, Erza, even Makarov couldn't stop Lullaby.' She then glanced at Lucy and Happy, who were both crying while shaking in fear. 'And Lucy and Happy don't look like they can even move, much less fight. So it's up to me and Yusei, but even if we used his monsters and spells, they wouldn't be enough.' The second generation pyrokinetic bit her lower lip out of frustration, looking up at monster with a glare.
"Even Makarov was taken down." Goldmine said with heavy concern.
"This looks like the end." Bob said sadly while bowing his head. If this monster could defeat a Wizard Saint like Makarov, then what could they do?
'No, this can't be happening.' Yusei thought in frustration as he gently put down Makarov, covering him with his jacket, leaving him in his black and red tank top. Every one of their allies were knocked out or bleeding, and they barely put a scratch on Lullaby. Junk Warrior and Justice Bringer were eliminated without a second thought, and if he summoned more monsters, they would share the same fate. Plus, even if he used his spells and traps, they would only delay the inevitable.
As Lullaby let out another monstrous roar, Yusei began to visualize New Domino City… on that fateful day.
The Reverse Zero event. All those people who lost their lives because of the device his father, as well as Rex and Roman Goodwin created to help the city. The creation of the Satellite. The Earthbound Immortals. Illiaster and their plans for world domination.
Everything was flashing before Yusei's eyes, with Lullaby in the middle of it. 'I can't let anyone else die. Not when I can stop it! WHAT DO I DO?!'
"Yusei, calm yourself." Stardust said while appearing in front of Yusei, time slowed down around them.
"How can I be calm when nothing we do can harm Lullaby?!" Yusei shot back at his dragon, who only frowned at him.
"Because whenever you feel this way, you lose sight of what truly matters to you." Stardust scolded while crossing his claws. "I understand that you feel pressured, but there is a way we can stop Lullaby: use me."
"What?" Yusei asked his favorite monster with wide eyes. "But what if Lullaby hurts you? Or worse… what if it kills you?" Stardust actually smiled at Yusei's words.
"Really? After all the time we spent together, NOW you're doubting me?" Stardust said in a rhetorical tone. "We have fought our fellow Signers, the Dark Signers and the Mechlord Emperors and we did it with all of our friends." He waved his arm towards the others. "They fought hard against Eisenwald and Erigor. Now, it is my turn to protect them. Do you think so?"
Yusei wanted to argue, yet he couldn't speak up. Why was he doubting his dragon now of all times? Even if the toughest of situations, Stardust, as well as its evolved forms always helped him find a way to victory, and those moments were only possible because of his friends. They gave him all the support he needed and it made him stronger. Possibly strong enough to take down Lullaby and anymore of Zeref's demons!
So with a determined expression on his face, Yusei nodded.
Time then began to run back to normal, just as Lullaby let out another roar, sending ripples into the air.
"Yusei?" Maki asked the Head Signer, who stood up with his hair shadowing his expression. He said nothing as he began to walk forward, passing Erza and Natsu.
"W-What are you going to do?" Lucy asked her friend with concern. She couldn't bare to see anyone else get hurt because of Lullaby. Yusei stopped walking, looking over his shoulder while giving her a soft expression.
"I'll be fine. Trust me." Yusei said softly before he turned back to Lullaby, glaring at it. "I'm done seeing you hurt my friends. This ends now, Lullaby!" The top card of Yusei's deck began to glow bright as his magic power started to increase.
"H-His power's skyrocketing!" Kageyama finally spoke up as he and everyone else stared at Yusei in amazement. At this rate, his magic could surpass the strongest wizards in Fiore!
Closing his eyes, Yusei placed two fingers on top of his deck, taking a calm breath. "From the depths of space, I call upon a monster of cosmic might to help us in this time of need." Yusei's mark of the Crimson Dragon began to glow brightly as he opened his eyes drawing his card before aiming it towards the sky. "I SUMMON… THE STARDUST DRAGON!"
*BOOM*
A massive pillar of light shot out around Yusei, enveloping it within its light. "YUSEI!" Lucy cried out as she ran towards the light, only for Maki to hold her back.
"It's okay! We need to trust him!" Maki yelled in Lucy's ears, hoping the celestial wizard would understand. The pillar of light continued to soar above the sky, past the clouds and into space itself.
*RRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*
(Play Stardust Dragon theme song)
And if the light wasn't shocking enough, a loud roar echoed from within the light, surprising everyone that was present. Soon, a large pair of white wings spread out of the light, flapping up higher in the air before a figure jumped out of the energy, and what it was shocked everyone else.
It was none other than Yusei's most prized monster. One of the six Signer Dragons and a creature that has bested the strongest of opponents.
The creature was known as Stardust Dragon.
The white dragon slowly descended down, large waves of stardust raining down. Some of the stardust landed on Natsu and the others, slowly healing away their life threatening wounds. Once the wounds were closed, they soon began to open their eyes rather groggy.
"Owwww, why the hell do I feel I fought Erza?" Natsu asked as he pushed himself up, looking at the others, who continued to look up in awe. "Hey, what's up?" Following their eyes, Natsu looked up only to gasp at the sight of Stardust Dragon. "Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-WHA-WHA-WHAT?!"
"It's… a real dragon…" Erza said in pure amazement, requiping into her white blouse and blue skirt. Both Gray and Makarov didn't say anything as they were speechless at the sight of the Signer dragon glared down towards Lullaby.
"Lullaby…" Stardust said in a booming tone, shocking everyone else even more.
"IT CAN TALK?!" Everyone besides Yusei shouted in unison. Seeing a dragon appear out of nowhere was one thing, but hearing it talk was another.
"You have murdered and harmed the innocent people of Earthland. I will not allow you to continue harming them any longer." Stardust said with anger, though as Lullaby did was roar at him.
"It's time we ended this, Stardust." Yusei said stoically while aiming an arm towards Lullaby. "GO GET HIM!"
The Signer dragon let out a pure, draconic roar before he swooped down towards Lullaby, who returned his roar before firing purple flame. Stardust easily dodged the flames before he tackled Lullaby to the ground, dragging it along the earth. Raising a claw, Stardust clawed Lullaby's face, causing it to roar in pain as purple blood ran down its face. Stardust reached down and bit Lullaby's left shoulder, making it roar even louder before it wrapped its tail around the dragon's neck. Yusei grabbed onto his throat in pain, feeling something choking him, just like Stardust.
"DON'T GIVE UP!" Yusei shouted, making his dragon roar again before he bit on Lullaby's tail… and tore it right off its neck, causing blood to leak onto the ground.
"It's hurting Lullaby. This is unbelievable." Goldmine said while removing his glasses to get a better view of the fight. He had heard dragons were vicious in nature, but seeing one in action was a much different experience.
But it held a much bigger question: how did Yusei even summon it?
"OH NO!" Happy called out as he and the others saw Stardust getting slashed on the chest, making it and Yusei groan in pain.
"DESTROY! DESTROY!" Lullaby repeated before it slashed towards Stardust's neck, only for the dragon to grab its arm.
"Not again!" Stardust shouted in anger before he opened his mouth and sank his teeth right into Lullaby's arm. The monster howled in pain as Stardust continued to pull on his arm before tearing it right out of its socket. To make matters worse, Stardust used Lullaby's own arm as a weapon, smacking it hard on the face like a club. Furious by the rather humiliating act, Lullaby launched purple flames onto Stardust, forcing him to use his own wings as a shield. But despite the defense, he and Yusei still felt the pain of the flames on their bodies.
"Yusei, end this!" Maki told the Signer, who nodded his head before looking at Stardust.
"Go, Stardust! Use all your might to end Lullaby!" Yusei ordered with a clenched fist. Understanding the command, Stardust began to fly high in the air.
"He's going to use a Breath Attack!" Natsu commented, unable to hide his excitement. True to his word, Stardust Dragon began to charge his energy into his mouth, his chest glowing brightly.
*RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
Not being one to back away from a challenge, Lullaby opened its back, its spikes glowing bright purple as it charged its own energy into its mouth. Everyone watched in anticipation as both creatures continued to chanrge their power.
"COSMIC…" Stardust Dragon finished charging his attack, opening his mouth as sparkling white energy leaked out of it. "FLARE!" With that, Yusei's ace monster unleashed a stream of white stardust energy down towards Lullaby, who fired its own beam of energy. Both attacks soon collided with one another, creating large shockwaves that almost everyone felt. Neither side was giving in as their beams were seemingly equal.
"Keep going… Keep fighting…" Yusei said as his Signer mark burned even brighter. He felt everyone supporting him, and that was more than enough of a reason to keep going. Yusei's eyes widened as he yelled at the top of his lungs. "FULL POWER!"
"GO!" Wanting to support him, everyone else cheered for Stardust Dragon. Feeling their encouragement course through his veins, Stardust pushed past his limit and unleashed an even stronger Cosmic Flare, which slowly began to push Lullaby's attack down.
"NO! I… MUST… DESTROY!" Lullaby cried out, though no matter what it died, it was all in vain as Stardust's attack broke through its attack, engulfing the creation of Zeref in a bright light as it screamed in pain. Slowly, Lullaby began to dust away, screaming in agony before it reverted back to its flute form, shattering to nothing.
A massive explosion erupted from Stardust's Cosmic Flare, blinding everyone in its wake. Yusei simply stood in place, letting the light consume him before he closed his eyes.
The last thing he heard were the cries of his name by his friends.
And then… nothing.
Oh… my… GOD. I can't believe this chapter reached over fourty pages. You know I'm passionate about a chapter if I'm willing to go THAT far to make one.
Now, before anyone asks, YUSEI ISN'T DEAD. I just thought this was an interesting way of ending this rather action packed chapter. I hope you guys liked some of the changes made for the canon fights, ESPECIALLY to the end fight with Lullaby cause honestly… kind of a let down. I get he was the first demon they fought of Zeref's creation, but he could have been better. If you guys liked this change, then I'm sure you'll love what I have planned for the rest of the story.
For those wondering how that guy in the white robes was who took Ankhseram's blood from Joker… he was an enemy to Yusei in season 2 of 5ds. That's all I'll say.
Follow, Fav, Review and PM for anything.
Next time: Shot in the dark.
P.S: Next chapter will focus on a new Champion and where he came from, so get ready for that.
