(Third Person)
There was silence among Camp Half Blood, as they mourned over the failed demigods, there was Lou Ellen Blackstone, the head counselor of the Hecate cabin, killed when a Cyclops smashed it club into her skull. Katie Gardner the daughter of Demeter was killed when a rogue Centaur trampled her to the ground, an enraged Conner Stoll attacked the Centaur and killed it, but not before getting Centaur blood into one of his cuts and dying from it.
There were other demigods like Drew Tanaka who was killed when a hellhound ate her alive, with no one coming to her defense, then there was Meg MaCaffery (Haven't read Toa yet, so thought this character should die, so that people won't ask where she is.) who dies when a Empousa ordered her to slice her own head off using charm speak.
But the one death the stung to many demigods, was the demigod know as Percy Jackson, the same man who had done so many deeds for the gods that he was even offer godhood, but had turn it down for getting more respect for the minor gods, only the fates knew that a year after that he would be dead.
The only people who were not affected by his death were the new god and goddess, John Murky and Annabeth chase. The two of them didn't even seem phased when they learned that Percy died, especially Annabeth, his supposed girlfriend who chose godhood rather than seeing him again in the underworld. Some people cough. Jason, Leo cough thought that Annabeth never loved Percy and was only using him for his fame for her own agenda.
There were many ideas about what Annabeth's true goal was floating around the immortal Centaur Chrion, the director of Camp Half Blood. He had just gotten off an iris message from Percy's mother, Sally Jackson and his step father Paul Blofis. Sally was distraught to learn that her only child was dead, and said some not so nice things about a certain queen of the gods, while Paul, not being as angry as his soon to be wife, was also sad at the death of his step son.
Chrion had invited them to Percy funeral at Camp Half Blood tonight, and they we're invited to come to their son funeral so long as they didn't have to sit down next to a certain goddess, and they told Chrion they would be there in a few hours, before the Iris message dissolved.
And then came the issue of what to do about a certain pen that was in his pocket, Percy weapon Riptide or Anaklusmos in Greek, was the sword he used on all of his quest and adventure, now who would be the next person to wield the legendary sword, Chiron didn't even think for a second to give it to Lord John, to Chrion he was a brat and would be a disgrace to wield the blade, and John would want it as his symbol of power. But Chrion would fight against the new god for him to not get the blade, these thoughts continued to circle around in his mind, until a certain son of Jupiter walked into his office.
The son of Jupiter was still in a state of shock and grief after what happened, a person that he had known for only for a month. But still inspired him with his leadership and skills as a warrior, but was surprised by him by his fun and calm personality, and his sense of humor and sass, that always got a nice laugh out of Jason, even in the most deadly of situations.
"What troubles you Jason." Chiron said, in his calm and collected voice.
"Nothing, just coming to tell you that we have everything ready for the funeral tonight." Jason said, with a bit of edge and shakiness in his voice. Knowing that something was wrong, he wanted to know what was wrong with the young son of Jupiter. "Would you like something to drink Jason?"
"Yea I could use something to drink, haven't had anything to eat or drink since yesterday." Jason said, still with the same edge in his voice. Chiron got out of his wheelchair and changed into a centaur, before heading out the door of his office, before coming back into his office, handing him a glass of water, and asking him to sit in a chair facing him.
"Is there something troubling you Jason?" Chiron asked, the Son of Jupiter visibly paled at the question for a few seconds, before his face became a simple expression. "I'm fine Chrion, why are you asking me this anyways." clearly lying to the centaur who knew about this.
"Jason I may not be Apollo, but I know when someone was lying, and you are." Jason seemed to be uncomfortable answering what was wrong, and Chrion recognized this. "I swear of the river Styx to keep this conversation between you and me." Thunder rumbled in the distance sealing the oath.
Jason, being satisfied, came out with what was on his mind. "It's about Annabeth, and the whole accepting god hood situation."
"What about this situation?"
"Why would Annabeth choose godhood over being reunited with Percy in the underworld? And did she just use him for her own goals, and what with her and John, is there something between them." Jason said.
"I understand your concern about this situation, but why do you care about this, I know you were friends with Percy, but is there something else?" The question, caused Jason to paled again, and slowly came to fear. "It's ok if you're not ok with talking…"
"I'm bixesual ok." Jason, said interrupted Chrion. "So you had feelings for people." only to get a small nod from the young demigod. "But don't you already have a girlfriend in Piper."
"I do, but it was a relationship built on lies and false memories from Aphrodite and Hera, and maybe it will take time to know if it will work out." Jason said.
"That is understandable, but what about Percy?" Chiron said.
"When I first met Percy, I thought he was some silly piece of seaweed brain and a bit clumsy. But as we continued to get to know each other, I slowly developed feelings for him. And maybe if we were both single people, I would try to have a relationship with Percy" Jason said, before continuing. "But I don't think it would have happen, Aphrodite would never have break up Percbeth for me and Percy to be together."
"And thank you for helping me out Chrion, it felt good to get that off my chest."
"It fine, now one more question what do you plan to do after going back to Camp Jupiter."
"Start working on a monument for all the people who died in the giant war, then make other monuments for the minor gods, and make a monument for Percy or something like that." Jason said.
Chiron pondered over a thought that kept on coming up in his head, to give Jason Riptide for this shrine he was going to make for Percy, it would allow Riptide to rest with his owner, and not be in the hands of John. So he pulled Riptide still in pen form and handed it to the son of Jupiter.
"I see it best that you keep it for now, until you finish this monument for Percy, and lay it to rest there with him."
"That a good idea, thanks for the talk Chrion." Jason stood up, and was about to walk out of Chrion office, when he stopped and faced Chrion. "Thanks again for this talk, it feels great to get this off my chest."
"It was a pleasure, and be sure to stop by again if you need anything else." Chiron said, as the son of Jupiter walked out of his office.
(Author Note)
So that's the end of chapter four, while it is a short one, I feel like it is a good place for it to end. The next chapter is the funeral for Percy, then after that expect some time jumping in the next few chapters.
