As I'm revising this I realize that I have made so many mistakes and I completely don't understand how so many people like this. I'm looking at it and I can't believe I wrote "kinda" so many times. I'm irritating myself. Plus I need to explain the way her wings apparate and disapparate on the spot. When she gets rid of her wings it's as if feathers are falling down. As the feathers fall down her wings start to disappear. The process isn't slow but it isn't Sonic fast. When she brings them back it's like the feathers that once fell are magically repairing themselves by coming from all angles. Plus I decided to change the age of when everything happened soooo... Chapter 6:
I knew I couldn't stay on the ground during this fight, so I prepared my wings to help get me into the air and have a chance to an advantage. I was glad that I was a more defensive type of fighter. It helped in situations such as this because I could protect myself. I knew that the only thing I could to get out of this alive was to take his demonic senses. I had only taken enough last night to escape. I didn't prepare myself for another fight and waited for an open opportunity to somehow touch him and help myself to extra ability.
As long as I can touch him I'll be fine... It'll be completely fine...
The more I thought about it the more I panicked on the inside. He was a demon and I a mere human. How could I defeat him? How could I think I could go up against him? My harvesting ability can only go so far as well.
Sebastian made the first move and swung his right leg in my direction. I caught it with both my hands, my right hand touching his exposed ankle. Without a second thought, I took the opportunity to absorb his energy. The feeling was too exhilarating that I began shaking in the spot I was in. I could see clearer and farther than any human ever could. Every follicle on his ankle was visible. The fabric of his sock was softer. The stitching felt as if he had handcrafted it himself. I could hear the birds chirping from miles away and I could hear the soft blow of the wind much louder. Everything was better than when I first absorbed him.
I looked up from his ankle and saw myself in his eyes. They had turned the same Fuschia as his eyes.
That's not something that normally happens.
As I lifted my wings in preparation for flight, I noticed the shift in color. It had changed into a midnight black. My wings shimmered in the sunlight as the wings of a raven did. It was so beautiful I couldn't stop admiring them for a quick second.
As quickly as the demon could he tried punching me, noticing my sudden distraction. But with enhanced senses, I knew how to block him with just as much speed. I attempted a knee to the gut only for him to block and counter with a punch to the fast. I dodge to the left and watched as his right knee came up. I let out a small groan as his knee collided with my stomach and flew back into one of the old walls. My the center of my back, where my wings were attached, began hurting excruciatingly. I got up as quick as I could and flapped my wings once, throwing myself into the air and continuing until I was a good distance away from him.
Sebastian looked up and the place he once was was empty. I searched the ground for any sign of the clad in black man but saw no sign of him. Before I knew what I was doing I glided a few feet in front of me, nearly missing his kick that would have landed on my head had I not moved. I quickly turned around and using as much strength I could muster, kicked him with both feet, flinging him to the ground. There was too much debris from his fall to see if he was alright.
After everything cleared out of the way I saw him dusting off his suit and examining his person. It looked as if he was about to continue the fight until the Earl intervened.
"Sebastian stop."
"Young master is there something wrong?" A smile so menacing was placed on his face at the misfortune of not having the opportunity to continue killing me.
"You seem to be losing so I've opted to ask her a few questions... Bird. Or is that even your real name?" asked Phantomhive.
"Yes, it is. But my first name is Celesta. Bird is an adoptive last name. "
"So... you're the one that decided to help me with breakfast. You looked completely different without your makeup."
"So I've been told."
"What are you?" It sounded more like a demand than a question.
"What do you mean?"
"What creature are you?"
"I'm human. Nothing more, nothing less."
"You seem more supernatural than human. If I may ask again for my young master, what are you?" the butler asked venomously.
"I'm nothing but a mere human. Nothing special at all. Well... except for my wings and my powers."
"Powers?" the Earl asked.
I only nodded my head, not feeling the mood to use my vocal cords any more than I already have.
"And you say you aren't to get revenge for your friends?"
I shook my head no.
"You seem very useful. A human with powers of yours and abilities like yours could be useful as a servant under me. Come work for me."
My eyes widened and my eyebrows rose in disbelief.
"After you ordered your demon to kill me? I'm not sure that I should accept this so-called offer."
Without a warning, Sebastian lifted me up and placed me on his should. I wouldn't have minded staying in that position if he had grabbed my wings with better care.
"Can you please put me down!"
Work for the young master and I will set you down," the demon butler said.
"Fine! Now put me down you're hurting my wings. And don't put me down roughly!"
He set me down as lightly as his anger could allow him and let go of me as soon as my feet touched the ground.
"So, what do you want to be called?" Phatomhive asked.
"What should I call you?" I retorted back.
"Do not call me by my name. A servant and master should not be acquainted with one another."
"Oh, but I was starting to like your stage name Smile."
The Earl turned around to glare daggers at me.
"Do not call me that ever again. It's a barbaric name only fools deserve."
"Understandable. But I can't promise that I will forever call you master. Especially when it's just us. But you can just call me Celesta. I'd prefer to not use my stage name."
"Celesta, we'll be heading back to my mansion. The other servants do not know that Sebastian is a demon so they can not know that you have wings."
"Understandable."
We began walking in extremely tense silence. I disapparated my wings and kept glancing over the butler who was looking straight ahead, then at the little Earl walking in front of us both.
"Young master..."
"What?"
"I would like to stay on top of the train instead of inside of it. I find the small space too claustrophobic for me."
"Yes. But Sebastian will be keeping an eye on you to ensure you don't try to escape."
"Of course."
We continued the walk to the train station and stood to wait for it to arrive. It came after a few minutes and the three of us entered inside. I waited until we reached the compartment the Earl was staying in to get on top of the train's roof. I opened the door to the compartment and held it open for the two males and waited for them to get completely in before I shut it and walked to the window. I used the windows ledge to hoist myself out of the medium-sized hole and used my wings to bring myself onto the roof of the train. I sat at the ledge on the request of the young master and swayed my dangling feet back and forth. The cool wind felt nice on my arms as I leaned back against my palms. I closed my heavy lids. I sat there with my eyes closed for what seemed like fifteen minutes until I felt a hand tugging my ankle. I looked down only to see Sebastian's demonic face, void of emotion.
"The young master wishes to talk with you."
"Ok. I'll be down there soon."
I carefully stood up while holding the edge of the train to balance myself. Using my wings as leverage, I jumped down and floated towards the window, putting my legs through open window and sliding in while being careful of my wings.
"Did you have to be slow?" He asked.
"Yes. I didn't want to die trying to get in here. Now, what was it that you wanted to talk to me about."
"Sit. I wanted to question you on Noah's Ark Circus. I need to know more about my new servant as well. After all, I need to know whether you are worthy of keeping alive."
"I came across the circus because of Father-"
"You mean Baron Kelvin."
I glared at him. "What he did was wrong but I owed him. All of us did. He saved all of us when we were all on the verge of death." My tone became angrier as I spoke, more venom lacing each word as I began regretting my life choices. "He had bought me when a drunken man was about to sell me. If it weren't for him I would have become a sex slave."
"Did you know what Kelvin was doing with the little kids you abducted?"
"No, I don't."
"They were being experimented on because of his sick obsession with me. They were murdered in cold blood while you lot were helping him get more. He even used their bones for your friends' limbs."
I couldn't say anything. I knew that Father had changed since he met Ciel but I couldn't wrap my head around what he was doing. He was so kind to us when we were children and he changed.
"I didn't know that. Whenever I went to Father's mansion the kids were never around. I always went with Joker and no one else. But I didn't see them..."
"Continue with your story."
"He saved me when I was 9. I was brought here from America when I was 5 hence the reason why I wasn't really doing well in London. Before my mother and biological father left they told me they would never see me again and to never let anyone destroy my wings. Much later a drunk man found me in the middle of an alley and decided to sell me instead of using me and Father bought me. I stayed in his home and met the others. They had been there a bit longer than I..."
"Go on."
"The day after he met you he became strange. He didn't take any more kids in, he became deranged and that's when he started asking for the kids. He began the circus and used it a ruse to get children."
"How old are you?"
"22."
"So you've been kidnapping children for 13 years?" he asked.
"Only for five. Right after he met you."
"Young Master we have arrived at the station," the butler cut it. I had completely forgotten that he was there when the master and I were talking.
We stepped out of the train and headed in the direction of the master's manor in a carriage and waited in silence until we arrived at our destination.
When we did arrive there, three servants came dashing out through the front doors, open arm ready for the young master. They stopped as they noticed me and stood a bit in defense. I looked at them and knew, I was going to try harder to gain the trust.
